Adam Lambert mentioned: Brian May Says Humanity Is ‘Living on Borrowed Time,’ But Queen Sounds Just as Great as Ever

Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em, everyone! Queen guitarist Brian May says it’s only a matter of time before a giant space rock goes hurtling into the Earth and wipes us all out.
May, who definitely knows a thing or two about celestial bodies, shared his grim prognosis in a report recently published by the Financial Times and later picked up by the New York Post. Joining a grim chorus that includes astronaut Ed Lu, who told the paper that “NASA has done a very good job of finding the very largest objects, the ones that would destroy the human race, it’s the ones that would destroy a city or hit the economy for a couple of hundred years that are the problem,” May threw his support behind a new campaign urging governments to patrol space for potentially lethal debris.
“The more we learn about asteroid impacts, the clearer it becomes that the human race has been living on borrowed time,” said May. “The campaign launched this week is intended to raise awareness and put pressure on governments to act.”
In the meantime, May might as well keep on touring with Queen — especially since, as he argued in a new interview, he thinks the band’s latest tour with singer Adam Lambert stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the classic work they did with the dearly departed Freddie Mercury. “The energy which we generate in an arena is, I would say, as strong as ever — and I think Freddie would agree with me,” he asserted. “I don’t think he would be upset with me saying that. I think the Queen show today that we do with Adam Lambert is the equal of anything we ever did.”

Are we living on borrowed time, according to Brian May? Adam and Sauli have gone under the radar for the last several days. Both were supposed to be coming back to CA, but neither seemed to have showed up. Are they both in London. An opportunity for old friends to take in a little sight seeing.

Well, I am personally not the alarmist type. I don't go to bed each night worrying that a giant meteor or something like that will crash into the earth. But, hey, it could happen at any time, I guess. Dr. Bri is very knowledgable about astrophysics. He's not alone in his beliefs, either. I'm just thinking that nothing distastrous is going to happen in my lifetime. Fingers crossed. Nice to see the QAL mention at the end of the article.

Well at least there is a new quote to go with the the old quote this time.

Brian isn't just talking about Adam, but because of Adam they are all performing, like they used to, with Freddie. Adam seems to be the reason they are all playing at the top of their game.
I am so glad they had the opportunity to meet Adam, and if this is going to be their big farewell tour, at least they are going out on a very high note, and playing as they did 30 or 40 years ago. People are going to remember this group with Adam for a long time. Freddie won't be forgotten, he was loved just as much as Adam is. But Adam is bringing the home stretch in with great honor for Queen. Nobody else could do it so well

There seems to be lots of pictures of Adam in London for the past few days with lots of people, seeming to be having a great time; don't see Sauli in any of them; unless I am missing something. Whatever Adam is doing, or whoever he is with does not matter; as long as he is happy and have fun!

4:49 #2, why even mention Sauli?

If Sauli is there, he would not be in any picture with Adam. They are not a couple, just good friends. But it is possible for him to see Adam in London. They certainly wouldn't go public with it. Sauli hasn't put anything on his IG since the end of Nov. Then today he put on 2 old pics. Definitely under the radar, as Adam has been except for 2 pictures of Adam at restaurants.
It's their business, and they don't intend to share it with anyone, if it is true.
There are quite a few people who comment on this site, who are still interested in hearing about Sauli, even if it is Adam's site.

OMG, LOL, it's a secret relationship now with Sauli hiding his location. LOLOL

As a student pursuing Biophysics & Astrophysics, Dr. Bri (along with Adam) is one of my personal heroes & a giant inspiration for so many reasons!!!!!! Just had to say it out loud and share! :D

@DRG Dr. May is generally level-headed, so I don't think he's being an alarmist or trying to create sensation; he's simply speaking the probable truth that most of us physicists already know about. You should't have to feel alarmed or worried by it, by no means. :) That's not what we sscientists get at, for the most part--Just awareness. That said, it should be a little more generally known that asteroid/comet impacts are an important issue, particularly meritting some discussiion and attention by the higher-ups. That's his goal in speaking out, I believe. Because, yes, it will happen as it has before, but it will most likely happen farther in the future. It's a matter of when.

The issue scientists are currently dealing with is that even if the event is a long time away, we still need to be prepared for it--And unfortunately, few governments are taking it seriously or creating a plan of action in any sort of timely manner. If we want to prepare for the future, we need to think ahead... Which means preparing sooner rather than later, so that when the time comes, it doesn't sneak up on us. That's just the brand of forward thinking that is typical of many of us scientists, but isn't always shared by politics or the general public in this particular field. Physicists are on it already (because it's what we do), but in order to be effective, we need the proper support. And sadly, astro-sciences tend to be ignored by politics in lieu of other, more personal and down-to-earth issues because to most people, it seems so far off. We scientists study it everyday, however, feeling it much closer to reality.

So, I understand how Dr. Bri feels on the subject and why he might raise awareness, because I share similar thoughts. Understandably, I suspect few people give much thought to it. Even so, it is good to know about the subject and why scientists care. That's why I wanted to share about it and discuss the post a little more than usual. So I apologize for being off-topic, but you can tell I really love this subject (and Dr. Bri!). I just don't get the opportunity to discuss it very often since I am the only physicist in my ring of family and friends. I hope that made up for it by being a bit enlightening, though! :)

Adam and Sauli are not a couple. If they were, the Glam police would detect it and spread the news far and wide..

Living on borrowed time is nothing new. Space rocks have been hitting the earth for millions of years, sometimes causing devastation and the extinction of many species. Sometimes just hurtling thru a roof of a barn! That happened to my uncle in Tennessee.

Now we can keep watch on what may be heading our way and like in the sci-fi movies......we might be able to blow it up in space, lessening the damage to Earth....maybe! :-)))
