Adam Lambert & Queen’s ‘X Factor’ Performance Of ‘Somebody To Love’ Queen performed their iconic hit with current frontman, Adam Lambert, handling the vocals, in front of a packed crowd, including judges Simon Cowell and former Spice Girls member Mel B.
Adam hit all of Freddie Mercury‘s notes with precision, while adding his own unique touch that made us fall in love with him when he competed on Idol in 2009.
And towards the end of the performance, the X Factor contestants joined Adam and Queen on stage to sing the “Find me somebody to love” bridge before Adam slayed the rest.
Adam Lambert Makes Simon Cowell Proud
Idol fans know how tough of a judge Simon is, so for him to give Adam and Queen a standing ovation just goes to show how amazing their performance was! Simon must be so proud to be able to say he helped boost Adam to superstardom.Link to article:

I agree, Simon must be proud of Adam. Of all the judges Adam faced, he was always the most concerned as to what Simon would say about his performances. Adam really respected Simons opinion, even if he didn't always agree. Even going back to when he first auditioned in front of Simon. I think a little of that pressure was felt by Adam as he sang on the X-Factor in front of Simon again. But he got what he wanted a standing ovation from Simon. Yes Simon is well pleased with Adam, and always knew he was going to be a star.
Well, it took Simon 6 years to say...'Adam was the best American Idol contestant ever.' He said it after the X Factor, Somebody To Love performance. But he did say on the Leno show Adam should have won.
Yea, Simon did pass some sharp critiques on Adam's AI performances like on, Ring of Fire and a bit on Born To Be Wild, but Simon being the highly critical experienced recording business mogul, knew all along at the back of his mind, Adam was definitely different and talented. He was probably cautious but no doubt an admirer. Even at the audition, he said he would put Adam through though in a questioning way. But as I saw it...Simon was never in doubt of Adam's capabilities even when he was cautiously optimistic.
In the end, Simon was convinced and gave him the only standing ovation on S8. Also if you look back at the S8 results announcement video, he didn't stand at the judges' table, the others did.
Simon said Adam was ONE of the best American Idols ever.
Amazing how some people think they know what Adam or Simon think.
I read Simon Cowell's tweet as...'Adam being the best AI contestant ever'...perhaps I'll check that up regarding the 'one of the best' which would not have made so much impact.
Simon did say on S8...Adam was the 'best American Idol entrant so far' and that pretty much sums up as the best AI contestant.
One of the best and he is.
Okay, I found that actual tweet and lo and behold, it was stated, it was not Simon Cowell's tweet at all...By someone called @JustSimonCowell who said 'Adam was one of the best AI contestants ever...' So that goes out the window in a wisp of smoke. lol! which means Simon's actual words to Adam on S8...'you are the best American Idol entrant so far' stays! lol!
In Simon's opinion ' ..... so far'.
I wonder if Simon actually said or tweeted a comment after the performance?
Just found a quote from Dr. Bri and thought it was worth sharing (if it hasn't been already):
“The energy which we generate in an arena is I would say as strong as ever — and I think Freddie would agree with me,” May tells Neu Magazine. “I don’t think he would be upset with me saying that. I think the Queen show today that we do with Adam Lambert is the equal of anything we ever did.” -

There's a thread about that.

Happens all the time.
I haven't seen anything that Simon said about Adam after the XFactor show. Seems like fans are more stuck on it than Adam or Simon.
To state the obvious, Simon left Idol 5 years ago.
Whatever!!:) Adam is the best!!!:))
Canadian
Canadian, it is that attitude that creates fights and makes glamberts obnoxious to others.
Once again, there are many great singers and performers in the world and it's OK if everybody doesn't chose the same one as their favorite.

Once more and once again:
THIS IS ADAM LAMBERT FAN SITE!
Here it should be totally, totally okay to say ADAM is the best!
No other names were mentioned (@Canadian's post), no comparisons were made to anyone particular, just a simple and clear opinion of an avid ADAM fan of the adoration & love for Adam Lambert.
Nobody's saying YOU can't think differently, but let those fans who think Adam is the best have their opinion HERE loud & clear!
Every sane and sound person loving music knows that there are "many great singers and performers in the world". However, if some of those other "great singers" are more to your liking, go to their fan sites and tell it. Why try to restrain the flailing of Adam fans on a fan site that bears his name?
Adam is the best! And ILHSFM!!!!!
