Scott Borchetta, new American Idol Mentor for Season 14 (beginning January 7th, 2015 on Fox) and President and CEO of The Big Machine Label Group (and the record exec who "discovered" and signed superstar Taylor Swift) said his FAVORITE American Idol season is..............

PS: Mr. Borchetta is best known for being in the Country Music Business!!! AND is also the producer of Taylor Swift's HUGELY successful new album "1989", which is her foray away from Country music and into the Pop Music genre. And from this, it sounds like he could be the next big power player in the Music Biz...

I may watch Idol this year...this guy appears to know what he's doing.
I'm just hoping we get to see the NY auditions so we get a little Adam FaceTime !
Hope such a qualified and successful mentor produces more "stars....( can anyone be as great as Adam? Nope, at least not in my opinion). Maybe he'll invite certain past idols to return for more mentoring and/or performances)

Well, the guy certainly has good taste. He didn't just say "Season 8." He said, "Adam Lambert season." Major compliment to Adam! Can't wait to see Adam's episodes coming soon!

I agree there will never be anyone as great as Adam Lambert. Never tire of people saying wonderful things about Adam. I can't remember the exact words but Dr. Brian May said he hoped one day America would realize the talent of Adam Lambert. Hopefully that will be sometime in 2015! He is our superstar.
When I watched Adam's season, my eyes were glued to him from day one!
There was something about Adam that made him stand so far above the rest of the contestants. His voice, whether singing or speaking, was spellbinding to me. Adam was a star waiting to be discovered and now he is an international superstar!

it would be nearly impossible to find an another adam lambert...hope that they make at least a good show with decent contestants
Scott could have picked Kelly's year, or Carrie's. But no, he picked Adam's. Many former AI contestants have said that Adam was their favorite performer on AI. He has always stood out from every other contestant.
