The Backlot: 50 Great Gay Male Music Artists

In 2011, Logo TV's online blog The Backlot ran the feature Top 50 Gay Male Musicians which counted down, from #50 to #1, artists old and new whom they considered belonged to that group, with Adam being listed at #10 (HERE).

They have just updated that list, this time calling it 50 Great Gay Male Music Artists, but this time listing from #1 to #50 and in completely random order (e.g., Adam is #44).

Here's the paragraph in the piece:

"The current reigning champion of family friendly glam-rock, Adam Lambert is, apparently, our generation’s Freddie Mercury. No, really, he’s currently touring with the original members of Queen, picking up where the classic rock legends left off. In fact, some of the band are even saying their substitute has better pipes than the original gay superman, but that’s a debate for another time."

Like Adam said about another magazine article written about him one time; I can't remember which, "they took liberties with the truth"; well I also think this article took liberties with the truth, about what Brian and Roger said in comparing Freddie and Adam's voice!!!!!

The Backlot always so fair to Adam please visit their site.

Adam is not known as a real artist but just a gay artist. That's sad.

The Backlot article was titled "50 Great Gay Male Music Artists"...

Obviously the focus was on... Gay Artists....

"The Backlot:At the Corner of Hollywood and Gay" via LOGO TV, highlights GLBT artists, causes, news, etc.. etc..

You know your comment is invalid and correct me if I'm wrong, but most likely was not posted here in a spirit of support for Adam..

The Backlot is a big Adam supporter and Glamberts appreciate the site.

Last time I looked, gay artists were real artists. Nothing "just gay" about it.

I agree with you glitzylady! To the ignorant or mean spirited poster, I would just say to him or her; that Adam Lambert is applauded in gay publications and other publications.

Just one of many instances, he was in people magazines 100 most beautiful men or bachelors, shortly after Idol. So looks like he is loved by all; lucky him!

Too many things to list; but Adam was featured as one of Barbara Walter's annual "Most Important People". Too many to list but, you can look them all up if interested!!!

Either delete trolls or ignore them. Getting a reaction is what they want and why they come back.

Michelangelo was a great gay artist....also Leonardo da Vinci, Walt Whitman, Tchaikovsky, I rarely see the "gay" attached to their names.....just praise and appreciation for their sculptures, paintings, literature and music.

No electronic media back then

and most historian probably won't mention it
