EXCELLENT and "REAL" advice for requesting Adam Lambert's new music from his upcoming album #TheOriginalHigh when it comes out (soon!!!), from a radio insider (who also happens to be a BIG Adam Lambert fan), Lisa G., aka @VioletFeline on Twitter.. AND from "Request Adam Lambert Music: Fan Guide Tips "..
Adam Lambert: Coming soon ERA 3!!
Info about "demographics", "requesting do's and don't's", the importance of chart positions, Shazam, Vevo, etc.. etc..
And the importance of being polite, and savvy, and informed, in our support of Adam Lambert for Era 3....
So...PLEASE read the info linked here, both from radio insider Lisa G. and the excellent tips via Request Adam Lambert... And perhaps save them for when we really need them, ie for supporting Adam Lambert's new music!!!
***Many thanks to both of these important resources for Adam Lambert fans who wish to help Adam boost his new music to the top of the charts!!!

"Okay, so I tend to stay out of this kind of stuff in fandom because often I don't have answers nor am I a Program Director. But there's been some misinformation going around as well as some arguing and I felt the need to address some radio stuff as far as requesting "rules" go."
"Those who run this site: http://requestadamlambert.com/fan-guide-tips/ have done a pretty thorough job of relaying good information for the most part, but there's one section I would ~adjust slightly."
EXCERPTS: (be sure to read all info linked above..)
"While most of your information here is correct, the Top 40 demographic is a little off. I’ve worked in radio for 15 years at CHR and HAC stations. Top 40 (CHR) target demos are primarily Women 18-34 and secondarily Women 25-54. (Sorry, boys! We love you, too! Just… not as much lol!) Think about it – radio companies want to make money. They do this via advertising revenue. These are the demos with money. Teens do not have as much disposable income while a 38-year-old would. (I can even further break down target demos based on specific day-parts if we're gonna get really geeky, but I'll save that for another day!) ;)"
"Also, it’s worth noting that on-air personalities have no control over playlists. Everything is properly and strategically scheduled ahead of time, save for maybe daily benchmark features on specific shows (i.e. aforementioned [in link] “Pump It or Dump It” or what have you)."
"And you are very much correct when you say that requests don’t matter. This is true – they really don’t. You are also exactly right about callout research/testing, etc. This has the biggest influence on song airplay for most stations. Chart positions, song sales, radio company consultants and Program Directors, etc. also come into play. Each radio company may do things slightly differently. And yes, Shazam, Vevo, etc., all things digital are very important now for charting reasons!"

Is this the Shosh approved site?
I'm still going to follow Shosh's comment about follow her lead when the time is right.
I want to do what is best for Adam's career and so many fans are putting out their own ideas.
Much of it is out of our hands anyhow and up to Warner to push.
I'll wait for guidance from Shosh.
I feel that this is realistic advice from someone who knows how it works in radio..
I have no reason to doubt it's going to make sense to Shosh too..
By the way, from what I'm seeing from others who understand promo, marketing, and radio, etc.. this all makes sense..
Be sure to read ALL of the info, not just the excerpts I posted..
We'll undoubtedly learn more as the time approaches..
A lot of fans claim to understand marketing, promotion and radio. Lots of "experts". Shosh should be our expert and the one to direct us.
I assure you, we'll be posting Shosh's advice as well, when it becomes available..
I tend to trust this advice (from both sources) as it has been well researched from the currently available info out there (I've read much of it myself along the way, but then what do I know..)..and some of it comes from a radio insider.. But suit yourself :)))
Ultimately, we'll be updating the info re supporting and promoting Adam's music as we get it.. Including any and all advice from Shoshanna Stone, Adam's publicist..
A personal aside: I'm a big fan too and do not wish to pass along any info that will not help Adam.. This info sounds legit to me..
Stay tuned....
How many times have we gone down this road.We call radio stations and vote online but nothing happens!
12:51 pm, seems pretty certain that calling in doesn't matter. Streaming and Shazam seem to be things that influence what radio plays.
@Anon 12:51 PM
Read the info posted in the links.. It's all there..
12:51, Times are changing very rapidly. Marketing and selling music is way different from what it was even when Trespassing came out. We have to stay on top of the newest and most effective ways to buy and promote Adam's music. Can't stick with old strategies.
I want to celebrate the day Adam's CD is released. I hope that we will know at least a week ahead of time! So looking forward to know will it be televised and where; will there be a big roll out! A week of Good Morning America talking about it before hand as they do so many other artists. Please let the roll out be fantastic!!
Is anybody in power listening! Enough of my make believe ranting! It would be nice though! Ellen anyone????
Okay, I'll read the posted links a few times to make sure I understand correctly but I'll wait for Shosh's lead as she has asked us to. I definitely want to help promote and support Adam's music as much as possible. Here's hoping Warner will give it a big push to get things started. Keeping my fingers crossed that Era 3 is a chart topper!
@CT
You're exactly right to wait until Shosh gives us the go ahead, since there is nothing to promote yet, new music-wise, but it's good to familiarize ourselves with the up to date ways of helping Adam to promote his music.. I'm still learning them myself!!
Agreed, best to wait for Shosh's lead. Too many fans are saying they are experts and have a plan. I trust Shosh and Warner to have the plan.
I'd also like to see Adam make appearances on the talk and entertainment shows to promote his new music. He's been on Ellen, The Talk and several other shows in the past. Since GMA does its spring concert series, why not have Adam on there performing his single from the new album? Or on Idol? The more people see and hear him performing, I think the better it is for a successful third album. I know I can't wait.
The natives, i.e. Glamhoppers, are getting restless.... :)))
What about those of us, who don't get into all the social media stuff? Personally, I can't wait to buy the cd, but I don't spotify or stream.
