Adam was so close to fame yet so far away; this must be the time he ran around in LA trying to get his first recording. Strange though why no response? If I were the recording company, I would sign him up in a jiffy. He finally signed up with a small company which after Adam became famous, sold his demos/drafts; as a result, in the tiff that ensued, lost a dear friend. I guess that's why Adam is still very grateful to AI despite everything. As the saying goes: Never bite the hand that feeds you. He doesn't take his success for granted. Well, the AI Finale is airing in an hour's time here.
Just finished watching the round-up of AI. Yes, Adam got quite a lot on the show, giving him due respect, the bravest contestant. For me, I finally close the book.
I just finished reading an article today from " Hollywood Reporter American Idol" that Simon Fuller did. He references Adam throughout the article. Some on you may have already read it, but for those that haven't these are statements he made that are music to my ears.
Do you have a favorite performance? I have so many. Adam Lambert doing “Mad World” was one of my favorites. It was unexpected and magnificent. (He doesn't mention anyone else after that statement)
"Season eight was magical. Most people assume I say that because it featured my favorite contestant, Adam Lambert, but it was so much more than that."
Isn't it nice to hear praise from someone that really knows the business. Yeah Adam!
Lynn.....Thanks for quoting Simon Fuller, I am so glad to hear that, he too, is an Adam fan.
I also thought Season eight was magical and I think a lot of that magic was thanks to Adam. Not his talent......but his friendliness. The contestants seemed more like a group of friends enjoying an adventure than people in competition.
Adam's personality shone over that season like warm sunshine!
I'm with you Lam-My... why in the world no response during Adam's early years trying to break through? If a guy like Adam... with his extraordinary talent... had difficulty getting noticed, then 'difficult' must not even be in the ballpark of how hard it is to really make it in LA. Thank God for AI... and the gift of Adam they brought us.
Hope Adam gets many new curious eyes exploring him and his music from all the finale and post-Idol fanfare....
Hi Yada... Good to hear from you! Yea, AI gave us Adam and if Adam had not been turned away so many times, he might not have given AI his last shot at getting a recording deal which was his main goal. He might have joined X Factor or The Voice and made it, but not as big as what AI did for him; I might not have followed him. In that sense, yes I have something to thank AI for. And not forgetting the huge bonus...AI paired him up with Queen from which Adam learnt a lot; it's reflected in his own tour The Original High, more coherent and spectacular with a lot more confidence. He earned a sizable amount from the Queen tours as well. With regard Simon Fuller...I've read during the Idol days, Adam was often seen sitting in his office, his favourite. lwl!
