I agree 100%with Adams thoughtful words. I also cannot comprehend Trump as President of our country. There I said it also!

The one and only thing that I find funny about Trump is when he is trying to stifle himself.
That said, it scares me to even think he has a chance to be the president of the USA. A candidate should inspire support, not a need to defend them.

Nanbert said...

America will be the laughing stock of the world if Trump is elected. We will lose all credibility, trust...and respect. The prospect is terrifying!

Trump is an embarassment for us already.... imagine what it would be like if he actually becomes president! We will ALL be judged by the world's concept of Donald Trump. We are ALREADY being judged because of him.

Don't agree, We need someone like Trump he says things, that others would not say. And wish they could. He comes out and says the truth. I believe He will run America like a business. Hillary no way. To many scandals. A lier.

Beautifully said, Adam. We don't need a comic book character in the White House who will set our society back a hundred years.

The government is not a business and can't be run like one. The President is not the CEO of a company. He or she cannot just make a command and have it be obeyed. Trump has shown himself to be clueless about the balance of powers.

Trump lies on a daily basis. He says outrageous things, and then shortly after, he says he never said them, even if they're on video. He's a chronic, egotistical liar and is already an embarrassment to America internationally. I can't imagine foreign leaders taking his seriously. He's a bully who doesn't know what diplomacy is. His "plans" include racism, xenophobia, homophobia. You name it. He has no "plans," just vague rantings that feed his ego. And no, he does NOT say what most Americans would say. God, I hope not.

Nanbert said...

Agreed DRG, Adam is quite right. The reason Trump "says things that others would not say" is because he is appallingly bad-mannered, boorish, thin-skinned and doesn't THINK before he speaks.

Hopefully, most of us are less self-centered, have better manners, are fairer, and have more empathy----- or America is in a LOT of trouble!

Anyone who thinks a "country" is anything like a "company" is sadly mistaken... and being misled.

Totally AGREE with ADAM & the majority of the comments here. Donald Trump certainly & in no way possible does NOT speak for me!!! What he says I would not ever dream to say ... the things he says makes me cringe as an American & a sane human being!! The man is out-of-his-ever-hating mind!! He sits on a fence of indecision ... says one thing & when he is faced with it he goes into TOTAL *denial* mode!! He likes Putin & North Korea's maniac likes TRUMP!! That says it all for me .. I am trembling to think what will happen to this country if he bamboozles his way into the presidency!! Heaven HELP us ALL!!

When I read these kinds of comments on our sacred ground where all Glamberts can come and share the joy and love of Adam, I got very upset. This is NOT a political forum and we need to respect each other as fans and refrain from this type of behavior and political rhetoric. Each one of us can look up into the sky and later write an essay on what we had seen. Each essay would be different. I could easily throw out an opinion that Hillary is a thief, narcissistic liar, and, oh so many more descriptions that would easily describe her but, this is not where we should discuss these types of things. I believe that if Adam were really smart, he would not offend any of us as his beloved Glamberts. We should always come to this site with comfort and love, never to hear the type of rhetoric as I have read above. I would never use this venue to express any hate towards anyone. There are hundreds of chat rooms on the internet made for hate rhetoric. Look them up and use them. Do NOT use this sacred site for fans to spew political opinions!! I will forever leave this site and never return if I ever again see this type of usage of ADAM LAMBERT 24/7 NEWS. I love Adam with all of my heart and soul, but, it was wrong for him to use us as his political pawns. Margarita Lady

Adam will probably receive both praise & flak for voicing his opinion publicly.

Margarita Lady, didn't you just spew your hate of Hillary?

I have to agree that we should not use this site for political opinions. I come here to get away from all of the crap going on in the world.

Adam blogs take me away from all that and I get to read about, listen to and look at this inside and out beautiful man!

Nanbert said...

My my -- things are getting sticky here! But Adam is USED to "both praise and flak". Since this is a site about HIM, I don't object to him voicing his thoughts. He shares a lot of himself with us -- just as he gives his "soapbox" speech at his concerts. I admire him for that.
However, Margarita Lady has a good point -- this site is not a political forum -- evidently many of our remarks have disagreed with her views, and she feels offended.
Perhaps this is a good time for all of us to pull back, and refrain from getting involved with political discourse for the sake of Glambert unity and peace.

All the TV coverage of the Presidential race has got us riled-up, and truthfully, I can foresee these comments deteriorating into angry battles and hurt feelings, as everyone jumps in with their views. I'm probably one of the worse offenders (see above).
So, why don't we all slack off and pull back from the precipice? PAX

I have no problem with Adam speaking his mind. We may well be on the brink of a national catastrophe. More people need to speak up instead of hiding behind their little computers. Thank you Adam, I respect your candor and with Queen for not allowing Trump to use their music.

There are comments by Glamberts on other sites on the internet about Adam's political view, not just here.

Freedom of speech except when it's hurtful.

JAK said...

I doubt Adam is worried about offending Glamberts. It seems he is concerned about an egoitistical blowhard no-nothing becoming our president.

Knowing how to use underpaid construction crews, underpaid casino workers and get paid the big bucks himself is not a visionary with a direction.
Unless his vision is to fasten a huge TRUMP sign on The White House.

We are becoming a butt of international humor, derision and fear.
We must reject this buffoon, this nasty tempered, dead of the night spiteful twitterer.

JAK said...

Me again.......much as I dislike and have no respect for Donald Trump, I don't hate him.
He just scares the sh*t out of me.

First I want to make the people on this site a compliment. This "political-discussion" is by FAR the most civilized I've read on this election. In other commetents people simply go off ast each other.

To the politics. I don't know what to believe or not anymore. I wouldn't know who to vote for, it's pest or cholera in my eyes and that's why I'm happy I don't have to as I'm german.
As I am German and familiar with my countrys history I personally think it is great that Adam voices his opinion.
To me it shows that he feels a responsibility that comes with his position as a public figure and he doesn't shy away from it. It must have really botherd him, or he wouldn't have voiced it, as he likes to keep art art and politics politics.

On another note: "empolying pompus, narcisstic negativity...tabolid celebritys"...Is he shading the Kardashians?...He dare not! *rofl*

Personally, I feel Adam has the right to voice his opinion. I actually appreciated him taking the time to share his thoughts. Many celebrities have voiced theirs.. Including the good Dr. Brian May, who is a frequent commenter regarding British politics and politicians. And Dr. May had no qualms about stating his displeasure of Mr. Trump's campaign's use of Queen's "We Are The Champions" a couple of days ago at a campaign event. He stated that he and the band prefer that their music not be used for political purposes.

Perhaps that event was the reason that Adam finally posted his comments on Twitter. Or perhaps he just felt it was time to state his position. He had previously made a few remarks during his TOH US tour stops from his (literal) "soapbox" chat :))) This was an expansion of those remarks it would seem.

This election cycle for President of the US has been one of the most divisive, contentious, and frankly confusing, and even frightening, ones I've ever witnessed.. (Again, in my opinion, and I do follow politics rather closely, particularly this Presidential race: so much at stake in how the next 4 to 8 years go in the US).

As for Adam's point of view/opinion of Mr. Trump: I have to agree with him. I've never been a fan of the man, and this Presidential campaign has done absolutely nothing to change my mind in that regard. Others are certainly welcome to disagree with me.. and Adam. :))) Let's just keep it friendly here (please!!!) in the comments section, which is not always easy when it comes to political discussions, as we all know.

Hoping the remarks & comments here on the blog continue to be thoughtful and polite.. It is certainly possible to state an opinion without being insulting or accusatory toward each other.

Peace. love & light..

Hi, @Lam-my, you know I value your opinion. I work on a huge university campus and you can not even go into the break room for a cup of coffee and relaxation with your friends and students, lest you be inundated with political rhetoric and hate speech. The professors are absolutely the worst. It is common for me to hear in heated campus rhetoric that "someone hopefully will shoot him". How can people use this type of language? I live in Arizona where many people on the campus pack heat (you are allowed in Arizona to carry a concealed weapon), so it really worries me that there are people in society that actually have a death wish for political leaders that they hate. I, personally, am an independent and carefully judge for myself which person I would prefer to have in office and, I will vote for that person with no help from any other person's opinion. We are not an uneducated and uninformed society today. We can all judge for ourselves for whom we want to vote. I resent when friends, family and co-workers incessantly push their own personal political likes and dislikes on people around them..........Besides my church, a place that I wanted to remain untainted from politics is Adam Lambert 24/7 News. But, Adam brought the demon to us which can truly open a hornet's nest. This site needs to remain a happy dedicated site to Adam's wonderful talents, never politics or religion, in my opinion. And, BTW, Lam-my, you gave your above opinion in a very respected manner. You are a rare person and people can learn from you. Margarita Lady

@NANBERT-hi there .......... I just wanted to clarify that in my original remarks, I must have been too ambiguous. I was offended ONLY because people felt they had the right to impose their political opinions upon all Glamberts on this site. My offense had nothing to do with my own personal political views. I would never speak about my own personal political views due to the respect that I have for all of you wonderful Glamberts. Perhaps some Glamberts love Donald Trump. What right do I have to go and trash something or someone that my fellow Glamberts might like? I am simply talking about the respect that we should apply to each other on this site. You hit the nail on the head, which this is a site for Glambert unity and peace. I have been on this site for years and have seen so many awful words that people have shot at each other. How sad. Anyhow, thank you for your insight. It takes a big person to say the right thing, that we should RESPECT the unity and peace above all. Margarita Lady

Margarita Lady... Yes, I like your personality and openness with regard human issues; and that's why in my above comment, I have asked that you not leave because your opinions count a lot to me. Thank you for describing your situation in your huge campus; does sound uptight; concealed weaponry! Well, that's why you did sound very serious and rightly so.
As for Mr Donald Trump...I still think from all the back-and-forth wranglings and my weighing-in the pros and cons; a man of his stature, a global business mogul with contacts/ connections worldwide, will stand him in good stead to steer United States forward. I also cannot tell at this juncture if he would be the best American President for these 21st century controversial times, with seemingly unsolvable issues and America plays such a crucial role in them. Some of his potential decisions do come across brutal but it should not be taken as a kind of one-size-fits-all precept. His vast global reach and immense resources would allow him to have a strong grip on difficult situations; on a case-by-case basis to arrive at equitable outcomes. Thank you Margarita Lady.

It would be wonderful if people were able to express their opinions on Adam's 24/7 blog, without fear that they'll be shouted down by people who have different opinions.

Hi!
I never was interested in political matters younger days maybe because I've lived in Finland, where there has been peace during my lifetime. Nowadays as a mother and being more aware of people's rights in general and everywhere else, especially behind our Eastern borders, I have started to hope there would be a strong force against hatred and prejudice. Raising your voice, when the time is at hand against any kind of bullying and wrong doing is something I keep praying for to happen every day to help suffering people. I admire Adam for trying to do that.
The world is different for Adam-fans from all around the globe. It's not an indifferent thing for the rest of the world, what happens in the US elections and who your next president is or isn't friends with. I hope you elect the best president candidate, who also accepts minorities or is not homophobic for one of the many negative things he could be. In the case of being an Adam Lambert fan, this should be an important issue.

I think it's perfectly legitimate to discuss a topic that Adam has brought up himself. This particular election is so out of the ordinary, I think it's worth discussing here when it relates to Adam's comments. The selection of the U.S. president is a world-wide issue. It affects the entire globe. I know not everyone agrees with either candidate, but Adam's comments do speak for many. I think we've been pretty civil on this thread. I know my comments above are pretty forceful and perhaps too strong for some here, but I did my best to keep it as civil as I could. Knowing how to disagree without being hateful is a valuable skill. At the very least, our candidates should show how to do it.
