By the way, I've been to San Diego many many moons ago with my 11-year old daughter, 4 years older than Adam, a young child then. Yep, we were at Sea World, watched the whales jump onto the platform splashing water at the front row, also Disneyland. A certain whale so huge, first time saw a whale so up-close from above its caged pen in the sea; it could barely move in the pen about its size; it reminded me of a submarine; thought it might have been Shamu/Free Willy; found out it wasn't. Later crossed the Border into Tijuana. Further on the tour, flew over Grand Canyon on a small plane of 12 tourists then landed on a mountain plateau where I bought a reddish-blackish slice of stone, 6" by 1 inch thick cut from the Canyon rocks; now on my balcony. The tour covered a large stretch of California, Los Angeles to Las Vegas etc...
