Just read Queen turned down a request to open the Oscats performing probably BR. I believe mainly they said because of that original directors allegations against him. Said thought it would have backlash because of it. Just now read it.
So sad it would have been great. Dont know if true or not. So thrilled about Adam's new music out soon. YEA

Brian got a bunch of trolling nonsense on his Instagram last few days back do to that director. Probably was the real reason he was fired at end of shooting the movie when they found out about the allegations tbe director denies. Doubt they knew anything about it through the movie. Very sad. Probably did not want all that bad news. But I think it would have been so glorious for Adam and them
As fabulous musicians. If the article is true. Maybe they thought it would bring up to much backlash to hurt RM, themselves and the movie.
Think the excellence of the performance would have overridden most of that.

You're right Adam loves Pharaoh as if it were his son; his lifelong calling demands a lot from him and Adam believes in perfection; he doesn't feel it's the right time for him to have kids if he can't be their for them, dogs will temporarily fill the void. Adam will eventually settle down with his own kids.
Sue, what you found out regarding Brian's unfortunate back-stabbing incident from someone he works closely with, hit him hard! When someone like Brian gets so much accolade and success, envy is bound to take its toll. Actually, it's not being fair to him, he came a long way, with so much hard work and even a spate of depression after Freddie's death. Adam will be able to console him, he too got hit real hard but survived it.

I would have loved to see QAL perform at the Oscars, mostly so that a huge viewing audience would see Adam perform. So many people still have never seen him and know little about him. to me, it's still a little hazy about what happened. Were they really asked to perform and then turned it down? I'm still not 100% convinced. But I could be wrong. That whole director debacle was so unfortunate. I'm sure Brian and Roger were not aware of his background. I guess turning down the offer to perform at the Oscars (if it was actually given) was the classy thing to do. It would have been a highlight of the show. Oh well. Plenty of new fans will be attending the next tour. We can thank the movie for that. Even without the movie factor, they have filled huge arenas for six-plus years. But the more the merrier!

I know you are right Dee but I always have some “it would be so amazing if” idea in my head and one of them was for Queen plus Adam to perform at the Oscars and if this is true, then it is another “so damn close” moment for me. My other “idea” is for Maroon Five to pull out of the Super Bowl and for them to scramble and get Queen plus Adam to take it over! Haha Oh and another “idea” is that some “Smart Person” at the Grammys would recognize how freaking amazing Adam was singing Believe and ask him to perform it at the Grammys. Ugg I always have the BEST ideas that almost, might come true for Adam but then don’t. I will keep dreaming up good ones and maybe someday.... Just frustrating that THE most amazing singer on the planet seems to always get the shaft by these dang award shows. Why don’t they get it? Grrrrrt

Glamitup....you're voicing the thoughts of all Glamberts about Adam. We want to share him with the whole world....so he will take his rightful place at the top, and we will be able to see/hear more of him because he will be in such demand everywhere.

For us, he is already iconic....but the rest of the world is gradually discovering that, too. I hope I'm around long enough to see his complete acceptance everywhere as an ICON! It WILL happen!

If it's true, I'm devastated that QAL declined to perform at the Oscars. I still don't know what all the to-do was about that caused Queen to decline. Can anybody send us a link to information about it....or tell us what happened? Am I the only one in the dark?

Dont know how to put up the link to that not as savvy about that stuff as some of you are. It was in variety on line yesterday. Try Google that. There was 2 articles second kind of copied the first. It just showed up when I googled 24/7 yesterday.
I think these Llegations against this director are quite serious. I googled to come on here w articles of RM king about allegations against this guy and how unpleasant he was to work with. I just saw first part of articles have not read them yet.
This makes me so angry they had to turn down this opportunity because of this mess. Doubt they knew anything about it when hired him. Sounds like it was just recent allegations made. Why would it be their fault. I read the director the original one stands to get millions from the movie so I think that is tbe problem. But still not their fault.
My daughter comforted me by saying mom the Oscars or not that prestiges any more due to Kevin Hart thing.

Glamitup, I had a feeling that the whole "they turned it down" thing was not true. If they were not asked to perform on the Oscars, that simplifies everything. There was no "turn-down" relating to the director. Was that a new tweet you just read? I hope Brian has put this to rest. I'll feel a lot better if it's true.

Just found Brian's tweet. They were never going to perform on the Oscars anyway. That should ease everyone's mind. They didn't "turn it down" or anything. It was just never in the plan, plain and simple. Bad reporting on the part of Variety. Nice that Brian and Roger and their group will be there in support of BR and Rami. Hope they win a few.

Read elsewhere today that BR has passed ASIB for earnings. And more to come! So happy for everyone associated with BR. It succeeded beyond their wildest expectations!

Actually it was Brian May’s Instagram ( I still confuse Instagram and Twitter lol). I saw it from his confirmed account so I am sure they were not even asked. Stupid people starting rumors again!

We all know Adam has nerves made of iron. However with experiance and maturity he tempered it with common sense. If he had not had nerves of iron he would never have fronted Queen. Look at the crap be put up with and still does do to simple jealousy because he quite successful at fronting Queen and other appearances. Thanks for posting Brian's tweet. Feel much better.

Do you remember paper dolls? I loved them. Spend hours playing with them. You would have to cut everything out, or punch them out. I believe McCall's magazine would have a paper door in there, not sure if it was every month. So cute. It took time, before you got to pretend. Adam would make a great male paper doll. Fun to dress with all of his cute fashion.

What I read from Brian's own words, was that a complainant/woman had filed a complaint that he had not credited her for a photo she posted of him on Instagram and and subsequently Brian's IG account was cancelled.
Brian warned the female fan, with name, that if he ever caught her attending his QAL concerts, he would have her thrown out! Brian stated he was always careful to credit people's works, but slipped on this one. He also lamented he can't even post a photo of himself ? without being harassed. He said the fan should have just alerted him and he would credit her for it. And that prompted Brian to say 'your followers may not be your friends.'
Whether QAL should have been invited to perform at the Oscars...all boils down to business connections and money talk ultimately.

LAM-My that is what happened how ridiculous and petty of this woman to do that. Brian is a kind man but anyone can be pushed to far on the internet when totally unfair mess is said or done in this case. I know that personally. All I see on the few articles I read is about the director so I assumed that what it was. His Instagram was up a day or so ago.

Creamtangerine oh my I loved those paper dolls from McCall's magazine. Lived for them when I was a kid. I've always loved fashion. I begged my mom to order it from the drug store they delivered I'm those days. No dont believe it was in every issue about maybe 4 times a year maybe more. You
Never knew when they were coming. My favorite thing was to play with any paper dolls and dress them all up.
Cant believe some other person remembered about The McCalls magazine thing. That was they delivered in those days correction from above.

I found this.....A problem Brian wrote about was with a woman who told him to stop following the Director, Bryan Singer, on Twitter. Bryan said he got irritated because he didn't like to be told what to do...and told the woman to mind her own business... and also said that people are innocent until proven guilty. That caused a furor because some people interpreted Brian's remark as support of Bryan Singer, and I guess made some nasty remarks to him.

Finally, Brian apologized to the woman, as he realized she was trying to give him good advice, and then said that he had previously naively thought of all "followers" as friends...and was evidently disillusioned and disappointed at their response....and that he in no way intended to appear to support Bryan Singer. He seemed quite saddened by the experience.... poor Brian! It sounds like he has suddenly discovered the downside of anonymous social media!

At its worst. It so sad that people think they have the right to judge celebrities and say any nasty thing that comes to mine.
They think that is ok because no one really knows who these anonymous trolls
are. Yes when you act hateful and judgemental and crazy toward a person I think you are a troll. They usually hide behind it's an opinion. That nastiness is not an opinion like I've said before when nastiness has been targeted at Adam. But what Brian said was an opinion but he just got angry.
Nothing makes me madder than someone saying a lot of nasty things and then saying but I'm a fan I've gone to this concert and that concert that does not make you a fan.
There is more to it than that having their back when they have done nothing wrong just living life. Also treated them with respect. No ones owns these people because you buy tickets to a concert. Your entitled to see a concert not run their lives in my opinion.

Adam also unfollowed Bryan Singer the other day as well, (and he's been friends with and followed him on IG for a few years), think Singer was sacked from BH film because of his attitude and behaviour on set, not because of the allegations wasn't he ?

Honestly do not know. I read in one of those articles the allegations were made in January I presume this January.
I was thinking that may be reason he was fired but does not look like it now. Honestly dont know the reason because these articles seem so inaccurate right now. But probably was not because of sexual misconduct allegations as it looks now.

I guess we'll never know what went on behind the scenes...and doubt we'll ever find out the whole truth. And, frankly, I don't even care about the Bryan Singer fiasco.

I dont care or even know Brian Singer so I dont really care either. But I really do care about Brian because he has been good to Adam. Whoever treats Adam well is ace on my list.
Only reason brought up is because what happened the other day with Brian and why. But that's all over now and Brian seems to be just fine. Every person gets upset from time to time especially on social media with people thinking they have the right to say any mean thing they want just because they can.

I think Brian unfollowed Bryan Singer for whatever reason, then suddenly Adam did the same, I obviously don't know what's behind it, but Brian (May) must have felt strongly enough to unfollow him for whatever reason ,the only thing slightly worrying for me at least, is that on a few 'Adam' sites in the UK, ( which I have observed nothing more !!!!) is that Adam's new bf Javi, is good friends with Bryan Singer's no 1 'toy boy ' Frankie Donjae, who introduced him to Adam, (I couldn't care less who Adam is dating by the way as long as he's happy ! ) , however, this new guy is just 21 and looks a lot younger according to some , on a couple of 'Adam sites' fans are really not impressed with the connection with Bryan Singer , especially some of the parties Bryan Singer had last year which according to some, Adam attended, ( obviously I have no idea if true, it's just what I've read!) ,so hope Adam is not being no 'used' by a user , I sincerely hope not, but some rumours are rife in the UK sites at the moment sadly, I hope he's ok and no damage done to his career

I think that statement is very ambiguous. It didn't say they weren't asked. And, IF they WERE asked, they "never turned it down". Either way you interpret it, Brian is being truthful.

Just saying.....but it would be a nice surprise for them to perform, wouldn't it? Ah-h-h, hope springs eternal!

They are never going to play at the Oscars , however, would LOVE them to perform at half time at Super Bowl, why did a band so yuk Maroon 5 pe form ? They were absolutely atrocious , QAL would have knocked them out of the park, performance wise !!!!!!

So not worried about the super bowl or the Oscar's. If QAL never performing it's their loss of the greatest singer and best bands out there today.
However I have never heard the Oscar's make that statement. They will live a long lucrative life without playing at the Oscars.
