Adam Lambert released his new album, VELVET, today — and, boy, is there a ton of media!  Reviews, interviews, feature stories.  He also was on the syndicated entertainment television show Extra today but no one has transferred it to YouTube yet — we'll post that when we find it.

UPDATE (3/21/20): Added the Adam IG promo above, the Extra interview (as promised!), just below, and an Instagram Live chat Adam did with LGBTQ personalities Rhea Litre & Jojo Guadz, at the bottom of the post.  AND, new Billboard fan poll has VELVET at #1!

Adam's getting great reviews...most remarking on what a different tack he's taking on his sound in "Velvet. This "Variety" article is very flattering.

However,I find it most striking in that the review begins by extolling Adam's extraordinary voice, and then lamenting his "humbling" himself during the QAL concerts by praising Freddy and "apologizing" for himself. I'm sure most of you have heard me saying that ad nauseum, and please don't feel I'm trying to start that whole controversy up again. I just wanted to show that professional reviewers have remarked on that as well....and here's one of them.

Otherwise, nice article.

Sorry.... just realized that the article I just commented on (and left a link to) was also at the top of the list posted above!

LOL, Nanbert! I was wondering! No worries — glad we're all together in spreading the good word on Adam!

Adam is making is pretty clear that he is going his OWN way, musically. Top 40 be damned. And it doesn't look his going indie has hurt him at all. He's got the cred world-wide and the music is really good!

Love watching the Velvet video. Full of wacky fashion and sexiness, not to mention a wedding all in white to a funeral all in black. And I love his little final wink at the end.

Yeah, Dee R Gee.... so much "tongue-in-cheek" humor in that "Velvet" video. And that final cock of of his head and side glance... "How 'bout that?"... toward the viewer at the end of the video was SO Adam... made me laugh out loud.

That video was such a visual production, that I had to look away and just listen to it a couple of times to realize how brilliant the song, and Adam's voice, actually is!

Just added Billboard Fan Poll — Velvet chosen as favorite new release of the week! See list of article links and it will be the 3rd "Billboard" one.

Not surprised. Hurray for Adam!

I caught Adam on extra on repeat late last night. He looked wonderful. However this was interesting what Adam said. He said that he ordered a bunch of equipment or something from Amazon to make music with. So maybe we will get a bit of a concert type performance on line at least Velvet the song we will see. He got Taylor who is a back up singer.
He said he not alone he had house guests for the last 2 months.

Hi Sue! You may have missed that we already posted the Extra clip earlier today. It's near the top of the post. :)))))

Also my husband heard several times abc advertising Play Mobil movie and mentioning Adam's name. I think on the news not sure. I looked to see if it was on ABC didn't see it. Looked a few days up did not see.
My husband finally said they were talking about movies I guess good for kids at home.
I guess they were talking about ordering it. I guess do not know for sure.

Thanks broddy I did miss it. Thanks for posting all of this. I will get to them gradually. Trying to stream as much as I can. I think that is super important right now for Adam.

Glad to hear that Adam is getting some at-home recording equipment. He can work on more music when the spirit moves him. Hope he takes full advantage of it all.

Hi Mi Re La! Thanks for this link — however, you may have missed that one was already added yesterday. I know, with so many links listed it can get a little lost in the shuffle. Keep 'em comin' though — and thanks again!

I kind of like when links are repeated on a later thread, either by accident or on purpose. Some of us miss the link when it is first posted and it's just handy to see it again later. Some important links could probably be on every thread, like a link to the Velvet official video, or a link to a Spotify playlist for Velvet, or something like that. Makes things easy to find from day to day, right at your fingertips. Helps to remind us to stream!

Phew so many more reviews I'm overwhelmed but all is good except for the first one, Variety seemed to me a bit negative. How dare this person call "Loverboy" corny? I think it's such a sexy song and very much Prince vibes! If Prince himself sang it would it still be corny? No I didn't care much for the Variety review. Then one of the Billboard and the last review on the list also was a bit negative. Saying that Adam is probably tired of being a Queen plus one singer. Then in the last review the writer called Brian, Brian COULD not MAY? Omg really?

Been viewing the videos and streaming the songs quite a bit, picking and choosing as I go.

But today, I actually got back to listening to the whole album from start to finish on Spotify. I gotta say, it makes a big difference to hear the songs in the proper order and to FEEL how the album was put together, song to song. It's very cohesive. Love it all the more.

Lots of faves, but I LOVE Ready To Fun. It's funky and bluesy, and I love that sound.
Keep streaming and viewing, everyone! Hope we can give Velvet some staying power!
