AND some interesting background into Adam's costume: "The Macaroni"
"Yankee Doodle", a song Americans are familiar with from the Revolutionary War times:
"Yankee Doodle went to town
A-riding on a pony,
Stuck a feather in his cap
And called it macaroni."
"The “macaroni” in question does not, however, refer to food, but rather to a fashion trend that began in the 1760s among aristocratic British men."

"Knowing" Adam , I think he wasn't only inspired by the costume itself but also from the meaning behind what a "Macaroni" is. It's fascinating , worth reading

Omg that’s hilarious !
I would like to be able to unsee this.
(maybe if he had shaved the mustache it would be better)
haha....Patria! I kinda agree with you...and the beard, too. It IS amusing... but weird! As usual, Adam is a MAD genius with make-up!
My only complaint.....he's too handsome to cover it all up!
I remember learning about Yankee Doodle and the "macaroni" thing some years ago. It's a fun story and shows that no matter what era in history you choose, people had their slang insults to sling around. Pretty fun to know.
In his new outfit, Adam reminds me of Louis XIV of France who lived a bit earlier than the Yankee Doodle era, but who lived in an era of elaborate wealth and excess. Men of wealth wore those incredible wigs and makeup and beauty mark spots, the whole deal. It was a very decadent time. I think Adam captures it perfectly and with a humorous wink to it all.
Good job, Adam!
And you got home just in time! London is locking down again.
Adam is so amazing with his costumes! I absolutely love this one. Haha
I am just happy to see him home and doing what he does so well dressing up. It is only one day or one night. He got a great mask on I actually want that mask.
I believe this is the costume from last year he didn't use. He was not feeling well and every fan worried about him because he loves Halloween so much.
So I am very happy to see him home safe and sound and doing what he loves. He did a great job.
WOOHOO!!!!! What a costume!!!!!!!!!:-D
Dee R Gee....like you, the first thing that came to mind when I saw Adam's costume/makeup was Louis XIV. On the other hand, that information about "macaroni" was new to me, and quite interesting.
Adam's costume/makeup was excellent, as usual, but I miss his gorgeous eyebrows!!!!! Don't care much for the "drag queen" style eye/eyebrow makeup....it detracts too much from Adam's own beautiful eyes and brows. But, hey, this is for Halloween, isn't it? I'm sure he had fun doing it....and that's the most important part.
And BTW....has any one else noticed Adam's extraordinary attention to detail in his costume/makeup?.... meticulously color coordinating his eyeshadow, nailpolish and CODPIECE with the flowers in his frockcoat...Oh my! Such a dandy!
This guy is one-of-a-kind! heh heh
