So, yes, again, another article about the potential for Adam, Brian and Roger to do new music together — but this story did originate from a new source: Brian & Roger's very recent interview on the Spotify podcast ๐

"'Yeah, we did have a little playaround,' Brian said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). 'We didn't actually finish anything to our satisfaction. It has to be perfect, it has to be great when we come out with something… But, yeah, it could happen.'
Added Roger: 'I'd like it to happen, but as Brian said, it's gotta be really great. It can't be ordinary, and I think we'd all feel very disappointed if it came out and everybody went, 'Hmmm…' It's gotta be good.'"

The bar is really really high for new music by QAL. I don't think it can happen. Is there any precedent for this sort of collaboration?
I'd love for it to happen, but I think it's risky. I have a feeling that Brian and Roger think so, too.

Patria....unless they announced it as NEW music, I doubt if many people would bat an eye. Ever so often they change-up their playlist and add a less well-known song during a tour... or even one of Adam's....or a cover. Probably there's only a few people who actually recognize those songs from their numerous albums. In other words, as soon as people get accustomed to hearing a song that's new to them, they are soon singing along happily too.
As far as precedent is concerned....didn't they write an album with Paul Rogers? I understand it was not very successful. But did they ever perform any of those songs during their tours with Rogers? I don't think so.
IF Queen and Adam performed THEIR NEW music, along with their hits, I think they could SELL it to their fans very easily. They're just too damn good at what they do! It wouldn't have to be an album....but maybe just a single now and then.
Sometimes, I think "the less people know, the better." Maybe if QAL wrote an original song that they all loved and knew was great and they just plugged it into their set list one night without any announcement or fanfare, the audience might more readily accept the song on its own merits instead of having a pre-existing resistance to it. I suspect that even some very loyal fans might not like the very idea of an original QAL song and might not want to accept it no matter how good it is. Maybe just springing a new song on an audience with no fanfare would be better accepted. The audience would like the song first and find out who wrote it later.
