judesmum over at Idol Forums posted a very important message I feel that all Adam fans should read! Make sure to read the BOLD part of the message!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, so.....this is going to be long, and I'll try to be as exact as possible in my remembrance of the conversation. Libracats might have more to add when she gets home later tonight.

So, we were at the Jingle Ball last night....we ducked out just as The Fray was coming on. We were walking aimlessly around looking for an open restaurant...Hooters looked to be our only option. FAIL......they were closed when we got there. However, as we walked back to our hotel a man came up behind us and asked if we'd been to the show. We said yep, and he introduced himself as working for the radio station, and eventually told us he was in fact the program director (legit..as he gave us his business card). He wanted our opinion about it...we told him we went for Adam.period. We told him we didn't know much about the other bands, etc...but we were happy just to be given a chance to see Adam.

We asked him if his station played Adams music and he said ...yes...WWFM, but not FYE. Anyway, this began a very long conversation with him about his professional opinion of how things are going for Adam. These are the highlights.

He predicts Adam to be HUGE, and that WWFM will probaby end up in the top 10...but it's going to take some time.

He thought that FYE should have never been released as his first single.....he said while yes...Adam's fans love it, the general population did not...he said the bottom line was...it wasn't a good song. He said as long as Adam can put out good songs...there is no way he can fail, but he must have good songs. This is why a lot of AI people never make it, even ones with a strong fanbase.

His station didn't get a lot of complaints about the AMA's, but they are a bit of a controversial station to begin with. He did say that he got a call from Adam's label/management the day after the AMA's to ask his opinion if Adam had gone too far. He didn't think it went too far, and will ultimately not hurt him.

The only reason Adam was able to do the jingle ball appearances was because the AMA fallout, and the cancellation from Ryans thing.....Adam was supposed to have been in Vegas last night filming it, but when his schedule opened up....the radio stations nabbed him for the jinge balls.

He didnt perform for a couple of reasons....
1)If he had performed at 1 of them, he would have had to perform at all 4
2)The cost of bringing the whole band
3)There was no time for rehearsal....the bands on the bill had been rehearsing for a whlie, Adam and his band didn't have time to prepare for that type of performance on such short notice

MOST IMPORTANTLY......there seems to be a lot of speculating about it on the various fansites, but the reason was NOT because Adam felt like he was "too good" to perform at such an event, and wasn't because he was acting like a diva and wanting more money, etc...

I hope people will stop saying that was the reason.....anyway...

He said that Adam is on the VERY BEST label possible, and has the VERY BEST people on his team. He rattled off a bunch of names, but I don't know who they were. He said people really need to believe they have his best interest in mind, and the are looking at the big pictures for him....not just the charts/sales today. He stressed this to us several times..and said something about it being rare for an AI contestant to have such high quality representation, etc.....not sure the exact wording, but that seemed to be the gist.

VERY IMPORTANT....

I know this has been discussed on here, but it was nice to hear confirmation from someone like him....
He said one of the WORST things fans can do is spam the stations with requests for a new artist WHEN THEY DON'T LIVE IN THE AREA. He said he's seen fans literally ruin people by doing this....
AI fans are notorious for this type of behavior. He said it hasn't been too bad for Adam yet, but he could see it happening, and that we should post all over the message boards telling people NOT to do this.

I can't think of anything else right now, I know there was more....maybe Jo will remember more. He talked to us for almost an hour and was extremely POSITIVE about Adam. He did not have such positive things to say about some of the others...but I'll leave it at that.

BTW...we never found any food, but we were happy that Hooters was closed or else we would have never gotten to have that conversation.

wow...

Omg, people were actually calling him a diva for not performing? Omg that sucks. how bitchy/snarky.

Anonymous said...

I thought he didn't perform because he's Jewish.

Well his loyal fans know he is not in anyway a diva. :) anyways thanks for this! Good advice.

Sorry to be a pesimist but is it possible he was saying not to spam stations as a way to get us "Glamberts" to not request Adam? Could he be a troll? We all very well know not to spam stations and this definitely has validity but what artists have been ruined because of this?
Just want to make sure we are doing are most (the right way) for Adam to get hits on the radio. This is a must to have Adam present in the music industry and on the radio beyond those that are already fans today.

How do you know this is not a made up story? I read the original last night. Very hard to believe that he would spent this much time talking to them.

people i think it makes sense, look at the post two months ago in AO! it talks about the same thing! http://www.adamofficial.com/us/node/722403

This sounds so positive for Adam!!! We all know he has the potential to be one of the most famous rock stars ever.........i'm just soooo nervous that the general mainstream of the population are still turned off to him especially after the AMA's.........

Great Post! I agree that we don't want the radio stations harrassed so much about playing Adam that they start to resent it. If we all really want to help Adam then go out and buy some albums! Artists are judged on sales! He'll get radio play if the album keeps selling well.
Alot of people still think of Adam as the gay guy from AI who made a spectacle at the AMA's- they need to hear the music so they can see how talented he is. I'm hoping that these super smart people that manage him will record his NYE gridlock performance and post it to his youtube channel- imagine how many views they would get! Can't wait to see him perform the new songs!!

This information sounds very valid to me. So glad you ran into that Program Director, I love getting inside information like this.

please keep this post bumped on your blog so every single Adam fans get to see it! We need to do this right for Adam!

Interesting information. What is the name of this Program Manager? It must be on his business card.

Anonymous said...

Can you supply the program directors name. Or should we just call and ask. To get the song played for a new artist U have to call and request otherwise stations don't play, and it flops.

Adam's situation is different. The Fans will call in to those station that does not play Adam's song. If they start to play then we can stop requesting them.

Well something needs to be done. Adam DROPPED to #30 on the HDD final numbers. Down -10% from even last week.

Not looking too good even with being on Barbara Walters, The View, Letterman.

This should be put on to Twitter, and any other media that it can. My fan group posted it so that we all could read it. Everything the gentleman made sense, and sounded valid. Take him at his word..he knows what he is talking about! This is some positivity for ADAM so why would anyone question it!

Anonymous said...

The reason it's being questioned is because the person that originally posted the information has been asked what the Program Director's name was and still hasn't answered. So someone who does know the Program Director of the radio station in question (and involved in that particular Jingle Ball) took it upon themselves to contact him and he said that he did not speak to anyone about Adam Lambert and would not have even known a thing about Adam's "people". He also laughed at the fact that anyone would think that Adam's Management would call a radio station to ask their opinion of anything relating to what happened on the AMA's and if it hurt Adam.

That is why this was all questioned. It didn't happen.

Meant to add this: That information that was posted all in BOLD is nothing that hasn't been repeated on many different message boards on ALL Idol sites for years now.

It's pretty common knowledge if you know where to look for it.

Ortlieb's Jazzhaus is great, it's jazz bar with a dive atmosphere. Check out the open mic, it features killer local musicians playing with a sick haus band.

Judesmum is a nasty fat cow who loves to post gross disgusting sex stories involving Adam. Exactly the type of "fan" Adam doesn't need.

I am not sure what to think about this. Adam wasn't schedualed to sing. He was just to make an appearance and bring in the crowd which he did. I stood in line for 2 hours just to see him. There were poeple who drove 10 hrs. just to see him. Adam is doing very well and we have to keep supporting him.
