Super Sachiko - I don't think single sales matter much to the record companies. Album sales are the sales that make them money.

If an album flops, the artist will get dropped faster.

Chris Sligh has always been against Adam. I think he said Adam was screechy during Idol. I never liked the guy. He probably wants attention and press.

The FYE single didn't really get promoted. It kinda fizzled after the AMAs. I have a feeling his management really pushed for WWFM pretty hard after that. But who knows, reguardless, I think WWFM is doing pretty well and it hasn't been out that long. What really sucks is that more and more people are illegally DL songs/albums. So it's difficult to compare record sales even from season 7 idols records.

Also, I made a comment on Twitter about Chris Sligh and his take on Adam and the rest of the idols back in Sept, and he replied - I don't think he really liked my comment...which made it that much more satisfying.

Some blog said recently that 19 records was holding back the promotion of Adam's singles, so Kris' could be promoted first, especially over seas. Is there any truth to that, or is it rumor?

They can hold back Adam all they want for Kris to fly overseas cause IT IS TOO LATE. In Singapore Adam is all over the place--billboards, magazines, newspaper, on the charts (all three TFM, WWFM, FYE) and that is also true in Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, China. LLYD is nowhere--not on MTVAsia videos, not on the charts. Asia doesn't like country much and neither does Europe. Wouldn't worry about it too much.

@Asiafan is right. We don't go for country or care much for bland music. Dance tunes do very well here. We go for tracks we can sing and dance with. We love to do Karaoke and go dancing. And Adam's FYE album fits right to be a big big hit here. The tunes. Lots of sing along and be on your feet. Love it!

I never heard of Sligh until he started ragging on Adam.

I'm crazy wild about Adam, but I don't see what that has to do with Kris Allen or any other artist. They both can stand on their own feet, unlike these 'raggers'.

Maybe Kris is doing better on Vh1 now but he isn't on the Billboard's yet whereas Adam is solid 7 weeks with WWFM. But why do we need to compare anyway? They are totally different artists and their music reaches out to a different audience, so although I'm an Adam fan, I wish Kris all the best as well.

Vh1 is a popularity contest and has nothing to do with music. It's a vote, just like AI. We all agree that Kris has a huge, loyal and very active fan base. That being said, his voice was terrible singing the national anthem. And yes, he was pitchy, or as we use to say in the old days, he was flat. It was frankly embarrassing.

Chris Sligh attended Bob Jones,a ultra conservative Christian school in S.C. Draw your own conclusions.

I'm glad someone mentioned KA performance of the National Anthem. I assumed he would butcher it as I saw him sing it before another sports event and thought "WTH" but wasn't shocked either. It would be awesome if Adam was invited to sing the NA at the Super Bowl, my understanding is that the singer has not been determined yet. They better get on the ball, the Super Bowl is in two weeks. Chris Sligh's comment? Consider the source. VH1 Top 20 video countdown does not equal sales. Kris has outsold Adam thus far on their singles, but Adam's WWFM is the top downloaded song on VHI and his 3 vids are #1,#2,&#3 on most viewed. I expect WWFM to jump in sales after the "Oprah Effect" and those numbers should be released anytime. Good luck to both Kris and Adam. I wish the AI comparison would go away and I wish the term "Kradam" would go away also.

Oh forgot to mention that Adam's CD sales have more than doubled Kris' so there ya go.

FYE Album jumped 55% in sales and went from #11 to #6!!! Next update should be tomorrow, 1/26/01. DAILY TOP 20 AC ALBUM SALES - TUESDAY
HDD is only 36% in at this moment. Will be curious to see where it lands once all the figures are compiled!

Oops! Disregard the sales #'s listed at 11:28 am. Someone posted this info on the AO website and the information is being challenged. I'm certain the numbers will be excellent once "official word" is released.

Chris Sligh is a disgruntled former AI contestant that America voted off the show long before the finals and has had nothing but bad things to say ever since. Jealous Much, Chris?? He never was good enough to have staying power & was arrogant on the show ... arguing with the judges critiques ...... why does anyone care what he thinks? I SURE DON'T!!!

Let's just not talk about this. It will be endless. Just ignore him. That the best thing we can do IMO.
