I am very disappointed with Randy Jackson. Is it just me or is this not appropriate for an American Idol judge to bad mouth albums from recent idol performers? I pesonally find most of the songs on Adam's CD to be great. Not a Kris fan, but still don't find Jackson't comments appropriate given his position on AI.

Also, one might add, how many copies did Randy Jackson sell of his album a couple of years ago? Talk about not knowing who he is!

Randy was nice to Adam during Idol. Why is he acting like this now? Maybe he wants to take over Simon's personality.

I am a huge Adam fan, but I agree with Randy. He is right. The album is eclectic. Adam admits this, and he also admits he didn't know what direction to take. He has frequently said, why not do it all. Why does he have to have one category where he fits?

I'm a consummer of music. I am not a musician. I'm one of those folks who say, I know what I like. I don't like today's "pop" music. To me, it's not music. It's not melodic. It's electronic noise. I loved Adam because because of his VOICE. He is presenting music he loves but not necessarily what is best for him or his public. Sure, we will support him because we love him, but think about how album sales would go if he did a collection/cover of Broadway songs!

He does need to decide a direction, and hopefully, it will not be pop. Yes, he's a pop god and a rock god, but those genres are not really allowing his voice to shine through.

Randy is not slamming Adam or Kris. He is giving constructive criticism. It also explains why SuBo is selling better. She is who she is and stayed within herself to create her stupendiously successful album. Maybe it's a lesson Adam should take to heart. Just my opinion.

i do not mind adam's eclectic album but i hope he will have an improved album next time. as with kris allen, sorry but i would not dare to buy his album, it is monotone and boring although kris is a nice person

I have followed ADAM since he auditioned for Idol and have been a fan of HIS music & how HE wants it to sound. ADAM has a vision for himself and he said he doesn't WANT to be put in a box ... he wants to do things HIS way. That's why I love his music ... because it's not BORING SAME OLD like everyone else. ADAM's music is FRESH & NEW & DIFFERENT. If I want COVERS there are plenty of other artists out there to listen to. That's not who ADAM is & I hope he never CHANGES!!!

randy got to judge adam and kris on idol season 8. it's season 9 now, so let him get on with that and leave last season behind him. just think, next season (if there is a next season), randy will be the only charter member judge. you did good dawg!

I love Adam and I think he is one of the most talented performers but I agree with Randy.

I enjoy Adam's album but I do not think it shows us his true talent. I really don't like the electronic sound.

I want to hear Adam's pure voice.

I have 4 or five favorites on Adam's album and fast forward to them only. I find some of the selections on his album to be too boring to listen to, some too noisy, with inane lyrics. True some of the tunes are catchy, but in Adam's attempt to be sexy, he has missed middle America. Also, the lyrics are mutted by the background accompanyment and not always inteligible. With all the big time producers and writers working with Adam, I somehow expected the album to be better...that said, I think with the right publicity and hype, he will have a few hits from the album. after all, today's music is in the toilet anyway...look who at those who have the top ten hits...not good music.

If you don't like it, don't buy it Randy. It's not for everybody. I'd rather Adam make music that he loves, which is what he did, than stick to one thing to sell more albums. How boring is that? Adam can sing anything. . . he's brilliant. Maybe he won't sell as many albums, but there are hundred of thousands of us out here who absolutely LOVE his album.

I don't think Adam's album is eclectic. It's all one genre: glam pop/rock. I don't get Randy's criticisms.

It's true that Adam won't sell as many albums as Kelly Clarkson or Daughtry but I would never dare say that he doesn't know who he is. Adam knows exactly what he wants- he wants to mix different styles of music and that's because he's inspired by many artists.He said from the very beginning that he's not a mainstream artist. Personally, I think his album is fantastic and my favourite song changes all the time. I like his album because I never get bored. I listem to all sorts of music from metal to techno and I really enjoy Adam's creativity on "for your Entertainment".

THE REAL ISSUE is that, while these contestants are on the AI show, they need to conform to a limited number of genres to stay in the game. Once they get off the show, they do their own thing, and if it's different than the 3 or 4 widely acceptable genres, they may struggle to win a fan base. OF COURSE Underwood did well. The Country audience for AI is HUGE. Jackson should realize that. He contradicts himself so many times....I wouldn't put much stock in his opinions.

I don't get the criticism. Adam's CD is very true to himself. What's he supposed to do? Cover Led Zeppelin the rest of his life? I don't think the criticism applies to Kris Allen either.

ORIGINALITY DAWG! Whatever happened to bringing out something new and yes eclectic! I like Adam because he is unpredictable not like any artist we have seen in recent years. I personally listen to FYE a lot! It is not boring. The songwriters are amazing and Adam will interpret these songs in concert like NO OTHER ! Adam and Kris and Alison had 3 months to put out their cd's and they did great. Negativity gets press(right Randy)??/and thanks Jim Cantiello for the really GOOD extended play interview with Adam. It was the best interview about the music on FYE that I have seen!

I can't believe so many of you agree with Randy. Adam is true to himself he did exactly what he wanted with his CD. I agree with those who have said that each day their is a different song that becomes their favorite. I find most CD's boring because each song sounds alike. I hope Adam stays true to himself, he is different and special and there are plenty of his fans who love him just the way he is.

Yes! I saw him with Kara and Shanaya. It was tooo humiliating to see, NOT FUNNY. I would get rid of Randy if I was Simon Fuller. He gets payed BIG bucks and SOO EASILY persuaded by two cute females. That was HUMILIATING!!!

I love Adam and think his album is very exciting and great for parties and the gym. The slow tracks are not that great although I just love listening to his voice. I think Adam has yet to find THE song that will shoot him into the stardom we all know he is destined to find. I also think Adam has to find that star within himself, he is just searching at the moment and I, for one, am loving the journey.

I'm sorry, but Randy's right. I also think I remember hearing Adam in an interview say that the type of music he likes is the dance, pop, club type music. If that is the type music he chooses to be his signature sound, his recording career is in danger. Those songs cover up his voice and his talent. I love Adam and will defend him no matter what, but as a recording artist, Adam needs to find his BOX. He can step out of the box by acting and hosting,etc. But if he wants a successful career in recording, he needs to be more specific.

You are right, Randy, you don't know anything. I am so glad I am not watching AI this year. Adam is only starting to show us what he can do and his album will sell just fine over the next year. It will be GOLD by his birthday. Adam is on the road to super stardom. I also believe that Adam could make an album of any genre in music and make it a blockbuster. I love Adam's album and I think it is so fantastic and different than most of the popular crap people buy today. Go Adam. Shame on Randy.

There is not one song on Adam's albulm that I do Not like . I love them all. It is who Adam is ! Remeber Idol One week he did "tender ballads using your falsetto and everything in your arensal",and the next week he did "the cool inddy kinda rocker thing". Good Night! Randy Jackson is just stating his opinion. He said he liked Adam and Kris' cds. I think he knows Adam is the most talented performer to come out of Idol. I don't think he has condradicted himself. He meant the things he said about Adam on Idol. But changing it up every week and being successful at it(they HAD to do different genres) on a tv show is totally different from having that be successful on all future cds. I love Adam's cd, but I can see how some peoople who have never heard of Adam would be confused by it.

You know the 1st time I heard Adam's CD I was extremely disappointed! Why? well because I missed the voice I fell in love with during AI in it. Slowly the album started growing on me, but if it wasn't for idol I would have never liked him. I just hope, as someone already said, he won't continue with all that pop music in the future... he is much more than that. Yes I am all for trying different things, but at least while doing so do it better.
I am still a fan and if he indeed come to UK I'll be there.

I knew when Randy first commented about Adam's album that he was not a big fan. Remember he said something like "sexy, interesting..." I could tell that he had some reservations. Randy almost always had great things to say about Adam on American Idol. But he definitely wanted Adam to go the ROCK route. Even Adam admitted that it was his favorite category on the show, and that he wanted to "kill it." He certainly did with "Whole Lotta Love" and "Slow Ride." In my opinion, those were his best performances on the show and during the tour. I think Randy wants Adam to pick "Rock" and stick with it. I have to admit that I agree with him, even though I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Adam's album. I like the song "Sleepwalker" the best because it has more of a rock edge to it. I don't think Randy is being malicious. He never was before. I think he wants to help. Frankly, I would have expected Adam's sales to skyrocket more than they have. He's so good, and I don't think it has to do with him being gay or with the aftermath of the AMA's. I think Randy may be right. Adam should be more rock than pop.

Well, Randy has a right to his opinion, though this is the same man who critiqued one of Allison Iraheta's songs on Idol by discussing her clothes. Whatever. I personally think Kris's songs all sound alike, so Randy is way off base there. As for Adam, what is unique about him as an artist is his versatility and vocal range, and nothing about that "confuses" me, Randy. While I prefer some songs on FYE to others, there is NOT one song that I don't like, and that includes the two bonus songs. I believe Adam is evolving, and oh what fun it is to watch and listen. I don't expect anything to be "formula" from him.

AI was about doing covers of songs belonging to other artists. We're past that since the summer tour. If I wanted to listen to covers, I'd buy Susan Boyle's CD, or better yet, I'd listen to the originals. My only objection to the FYE CD is its over production, which is not Adam's fault. That seems to be the trend by producers these days, possibly because they aren't used to working with people who have real voices and vocal ranges.

Adam's album should already be gold/platium. It's not, even with all the publicity. That's OK if if doesn't matter to Adam, but I bet it does. I love Adam and his music. Want to get that fact up front. That doesn't mean he's perfect. Adam would be the first to accept honest constructive criticism from knowledgable people. Agree that Adam is evolving and will continue to evolve through the decades. Right now he's more of a personality and celebrity than a singer. Is that what he wants? Only he can answer that question. I just heard Barry Manilow's remarks about Adam. Barry says Adam's voice is gorgeous (I'm paraphrasing), and he doesn't need the other stuff he did at AMA. Can't argue with Barry's success. In his late 60's, he continues to draw sell out crowds and sell platium record--even covers. Barry's original music is classic. Maybe Adam does need to step back and decide what direction he wants to take. I would suggest that everyone on this site wants the best for Adam, so leave the personal insults to yourself.

I wonder what Simon thinks about Adam's debut album, and if he agrees with Randy. Has anyone heard comments from him? Simon is usually "right on" because he know the business end of it.

I agree with Colleen-Adam has yet to find the right song to show his beautiful voice. Today I listened again to my downloads from AI. His voice on IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU, MAD WORLD AND TRACKS OF MY TEARS--those were magical tones and what we all fell in love with...Adam, call Rickey Minor and share with us your voice without all the mixes....

Come on People!!! Adam is the artist and Adam recorded the type of music he wanted to. The CD is jammed with all genres of music and even though it may not be everything a person hoped for, you've got to admit, he can mix up the music. I didn't like every song on the CD when I first heard it, but they all grow on you and there's something to be said about that. I'm positive Adam will venture into rock music one day but right now he is having fun. Everyone just needs to appreciate the music he is blessing us with right now. WWFM is getting a lot of spins on the radio and after Oprah's show, sales skyrocketed. When Adam is ready to record a CD of classic rock covers he will, but not until then.

Adam Lambert's performances on AI have nothing to do with who Adam Lambert is. Adam had to sing those songs on AI, but obviously wanted to record glamrock once out of the AI spotlight. For those who expected AI performances on FYE, I'm sure you must have been disappointed. You have to respect and appreciate the fact that Adam is not on AI any longer. After the "Oprah Effect", Adam's FYE CD has to of reached Gold status. The radio stations are spinning WWFM more often now and everything is good. Those that are claiming Adam's voice can't be heard on FYE, obviously haven't listened to all of the tracks. "Soaked", "Broken Open", "Sleepwalker" and "Aftermath" come to mind. Oh, and Randy Jackson is an idiot for dissing Adam. He had to have known Adam was not going to put out a "vanilla" CD, but rather a "Neopolitan" CD.

Randy is not an idiot, and it's not productive or constructive to bash someone because of their opinion. This is especially true of Randy who was/is always supportive of Adam. He's making a point that has some validity. Don't forget that Adam acknowledged that he was uncertain at the onset of what direction he wanted to take with this album. With his voice, he has many options. What he likes to listen to is not necessarily what is best for him, and he also recognized that by fusing two different styles. WWFM is an excellent example of this fusion, and it does showcase his voice. IIHY starts like a typical Miley Cyrus number, but Adam makes it his own. Too much pop electronic processing in that song for my taste, but that's me. Everyone is different, or we would all only buy one artist and one album. My personal favorite is Pick U Up as I believe it highlights Adam's style and voice.

randy is probably right in his opinions of adam's 1st cd. however, adam is NOT a flash in the pan and will go on to make all kinds of beautiful music for us. we'll have to wait a while until FYE is older and the promotion is winding down.. remember, adam made this album in 3 MOS. while on the AI tour. not a lot of time to make in depth decisions about stuff. i love FYE and all of adam's music, and , of course, i AM a fanatic about adam and all things adam and can't understand why everyone else in the world isn't also, but that's just me. he also cut many other songs with other producers (REDONE) that didn't make this album, so, fear not, he is not undone, just starting out. there's a lot of life and love left in our beautiful boy. just give him some time. and lots and lots of love.

Sorry to disagree, but Mad World, If I Can't Have You, and Tracks of My Tears are NOT what makes me love Adam. In fact, Mad World is my least favorite of all the AI songs. It's Adam's versatility and the fact that he is comfortable in any genre that impresses me. Ring Of Fire, Feelin Good, Cryin' Whole Lotta Love, A Change is Gonna Come....those were all very different from one another and yet he knocked them out of the ballpark. He can do whatever genre he chooses and kick ass.

I am CERTAIN the reason the radio stations didn't play Adams songs is because Entertainment 19 would NOT release his songs to be played until Kris saw some success on one of his songs...think @ it ppl. After Kris reached gold they started playing Adams songs on the radio stations! This is not by chance! Just like they wouldn't let Adam's album come out before Kris's they wouldn't let the radio stations play Adam's music so it wouldn't over shadow Kris! Every time we call the stations and talked to someone at the station they told us it had NOT released for play yet!

we are missing the point here, randy is very fond of adam and cares whatever happens to him that is why he was giving constructive criticsms. he knows adam's vocal power and does not need electronic enhancement that was proven during his idol time. yes people adam needs to show off his natural talent and hopefully his next albums will fit him better although i do not mind his debut album though.

adamitisnky, you might be right. On a thread in another forum, someone commented about calling a radio station to request Adam, and the DJ told her it was not the right time to play Adam. She took this as a dissing of her and Adam, but he could very well have been holding off from playing Adam for a reason such as you mentioned.

Idol has been holding Adams album back because Kriss's album did not sell well at all. They have Allens music played on the radio - they have not allowed Adam to be played- they put posters of Allen up at stores, trying to sell his album-they withhold Adam's CD from stores, so less people will buy it. It was hard to find around here-at MTV and VH1 they will not accuratly post the # of views of his video to keep it from being # one! Who do you think is responsible for that?

They did not hold Adam's music back until Kriss hit gold. Kriss has not sold near as many albums as Adam. If you go to ITunes, Kriss's biggest sales are for his single-The Kanye West's song, and Live Like You are dying. I read that Kriss sold less Albums in the first month than any other Idol, so AI really put the push on Kriss, and held Adam back.

I love Adam, but Randy has a point. The way I see it, this was an experiment for Adam too, and I hope his rock-like songs do better that his pop songs, so he can do more of a rock album next time. That's my wish for him.

Per the MOD on AO, Adam's FYE album has already reached gold status and they are waiting for confirmation before this news is announced. I'm hoping the album goes platinum before an anticipated appearance by Adam on AI so the platinum album can be presented to him on the stage he got his start from.
