This wasn't funny and not a good thing for Adam. I think intent was good and the point well taken but not very helpful for someone who wants his music to be the thing that is talked about.
Adam agreed to do it And it was SATIRE, mocking the overblown reaction about Adam's orientation. It was about the only single laugh of the night, and the audience got the point! He was a perfect foil for her schtick, had great timing and looked FABULOUS and man, he has such a great clear voice. Lovely.
YES! it WAS funny. anno#1,sorry you didn't get it. It's good to have a laugh once in a while.
I agree, IT WAS THE ONLT FUNNY THING OF THE NIGHT! Adam looked AMAZING and looked like HE HAD FUN. Go Adam. LOVE YOU. you are driving me MORE crazy after watching WWFM video. \I can't get it out of my head. What are you doing to me?
I get that people want the world to focus on Adam's music, but never being able to joke about it or ask about it, isn't that a double standard? What I mean is, when interviewed shouldn't he be allowed to talk about his romantic life, which will include talking about men? Any other celeb can talk/joke about sex, why shouldn't Adam be able to?
I think what he wants is not to be KNOWN as the 'gay' singer, but he's not going to never talk about his romantic/sex life, every celeb gets quizzed about that. If Adam wants to joke about liking penis I say joke away! Its funny and shouldn't be taken so seriously.
So Sarah Silverman is not very funny. She usually isn't. She likes to shock (big deal) and needs to quit while she is ahead and never does. The important thing is Adam came off looking like the super classy, adorable, gorgeous, articulate, funny man he is. And they played his song as he walked out.
Of course, singing would have been great but they didn't ask him. Btw, wasn't Nick Jonas just awful? I thought he was the talented brother.
Not funny...if Adam wants to be known as a very talented singer and not a "gay" talented singer the gay subject should be dropped. As this skit shows there is no "straight" label so let's let the "gay" label stop also unless we all wear signs stating our sexual preference. It distracts from the real subject and by that,I mean Adam's talent. I want to enjoy Adam's music and acting without the word gay proceeding it. Frankly I'm getting tired of the subject. Can't we just move on? He is a beautiful person and the most talented singer I've ever heard. I hope he has a fantastic career and I don't care if he is gay or straight. All I care about is his wonderful voice and his music.
People, people. It was a joke. The whole thing was poking fun at the whole gay/straight double standard. Being straight doesn't define someone, yet when someone says they're gay, people act like its all they are. I thought it was hilarious, and I really don't like Sarah Silverman. Lighten up, folks.
I thought Silverman's comments were in bad taste and was not very good for Adam's image. I know he is given the "skit" he is supposed to do for his presentation, but he needs to get away from the "Gay" references, that occur every single time he is on TV. Women make up the majority of his fans, and sooner or later many of them will give up on him. WE are romantics, and we like our fantasies, so being constantly reminded that we don't stand a chance is a big turn-off.
All of the skits were pretty lame last night. To say Adam hurt his career is ridiculous. He was actually kind of funny and came off pretty classy. He was the highlight of the evening. And WOW what stage presence. He sounded and looked fanstastic. Too bad he didn't sing as the bands that played were awful.
I love Adam and his music, and I want his career to be Spectacular, and all it should be. I wish that the Gay factor could be put in the back ground, because I'm afraid it is going to limit his career. Maybe he needs to do a video with some female interaction. Look how crazy we were seeing his "Details" cover shoot. Now that was a big "Turn-On", I've got 2 copies of that magazine under my matress!!
Adam doesn't need to do a video with female interaction. He needs to just be who and what he is. It isn't fair that he can't be himself in his videos just so he can please everyone else. He's gay. If he was straight, most of us wouldn't have a chance with him anyway. Its all fantasy.
Homosexuality is a big deal only because people make it out to be.
It was a joke. It was funny. It was supportive of Adam. Sandra Bullock was laughing and so was the little boy with her. So good to see. What isn't good is when we make people feel it's shameful. This was healthy, making fun of the double standard in such a light-hearted nondefensive way. Adam looked fantastic, too.
The only positive thing about the presentation was Adam's music playing in the background as he came out on the stage...other than that it only called attention to "the gay singer" "the gay singer" "the gay singer" "the gay singer" ---- See, it's like a broken record..stop already!
The skit was funny enough, but a bit "old news". Also I thought Sarah's comedic timing was a bit "off", felt rehearsed as opposed to Adam who came across so natural, like it was the first time he heard any of it. He was brilliant!
I guess I "got" the point that they were referring to the double standard, but you know, Adam's sexuality has been spoken about enough! When he performs, the room lights up. He is an extremely talented man, and we KNOW that he is gay, but I am sick of that being a part of any interview, or appearance. His personal life should be allowed to be just that......personal. He doesn't need to be the symbol for ANY group of people.......he is not a posterboy.......he is a talented person.I don't think it is fair to him to make the references to his sexuality at every turn of his career. Sing for us Adam, act for us, dance for us and make us be able to escape our boring lives for the few minutes we are blessed enough to watch you. You are awesome, and I don't care WHO you sleep with.
He looked great, and he's a pretty darn good actor, but I agree that this is getting old. I want performances and parts that I can play back for other people to help promote his artistry.
Oh my - lighten up folks! It is good for Adam, he looked gorgeous, sweet, and very classy. The skit writers wrote it to support Adam and people in the audiance get that. It was a joke. Does Sarah always go on too long - yep, but Adam was adorable and it helps him in the long run.
Adam does not want to be a poster boy for the Gay community. How many times does he have to say that he doesn't want to be known as Gay Adam, just Adam? I wish people(fans and haters) would stop saying the word, Gay, everytime they make a comment about Adam!

Love it!!
I thought it was funny and clever! Go Adam!
It was funny at the beginning but she could have stopped, it was kind of uncomfortable when the audience wasn't laughing. but GO ADAM!!!

SO FUNNY!! that Sarah is CRAZY FUNNY. LOVE HER, and Adam is so beautiful.\
They both did a great job. They were the funniest on the show.
I did not like this skit and I am sorry that Adam was even a part of it.
