So what kind of time commitment are we talking about here? It's not the kind of show that tapes for 2 months then has an "off" season where the stars pursue other career projects. Adam doesn't have to tour year round, but I dunno. This sounds like a rumor to me especially with the Ntl Enquirer reference.

NO WAY! Adam is tooooo talented to sit and judge other people. People would end up booing him just like they do Simon...Adam needs to just entertain the world and keep singing! Maybe he could just sit in and help pick out the talent for the next year but never want him to stop touring or have his OWN show. Your guest stint as a mentor was totally cool, but you have a way bigger chance of becoming a worldwide star (which you're already well on the way down the path to becoming) if you stick to your plan and become a rock star. Professional judges are just people who sit around and criticize other people. Leave that to the record execs and music industry folks who've already played out their careers. You're just starting your journey.

Tough one! One season on idol = set for life. The money Adam would make would allow him to make the kind of music he wants and establish financial breathing room to explore all different types of opportunities. Adam would be a fantastic judge on Idol, but he has stated just recently that he would rather concentrate on his career as an entertainer, but he would like it to be a guest judge for a week. I would rather see Adam keep on making music myself.

Adam could easily be a judge without it getting in the way of his own music career!!!

Idol is a 5 month Job pretty much and Adam could easily write songs, record songs, shoot music videos, and do promo during that time period. The only thing he wouldnt be able to do during that time is tour but he can tour the other 7 months of the year!

Adam would earn millions for being a judge and doing so could actually help promote his own music career without getting in the way of it!

I love the rumor, but no one earns what simon cowel earns.AI has only been renewed for 2 more years, and if they don't make a change like that, it will not last even the 2 years. But the big wigs must see that they have a great opportunity in adam , if he wanted it. Cowell does a lot more work and shows in the UK. adam could easily keep his career going and also keep AI going.

Not good timing - maybe in a few years if Idol is still around but right now, creating and performing are the dream and the dream won't wait. Yes it would be amazing, Adam is so talented he would be able to handle both being a judge and great singer.

I have no doubt that Adam would take any on air job AI offered him because he is far too smart not to. If Adam only made 10% of what Simon made in 2008 that's still like 3.4 million not to mention the value of being on tv twice a week promoting, promoting, promoting. According to the Huffington Post Simon could be making 144 million in 2010.

I don't know that even Adam could rescue the sinking ship called American Idol. I would hate for him to judge one year and then AI be canceled. I don't want Adam's name mentioned as a possible reason for AI's inevitable demise. Adam as a guest judge during auditions would be great. Adam: not as a judge -- pleeeeeze. That said,
Idol should hire him to come and mentor/coach the Top 10 -- spend the week with them, help them choose a song, dress for their song choice and above all, teach them how to to deliver that song! Put his good talents to good use!! And...its only 1 week out of his life.

Adam wants longevity in the business and i don't think judging would be his best ticket. He's too talented to give up singing. He has yet to build his resume to really, really, really belong at the judges' table.

I also think being a mentor would be much better than being a judge. ADAM would never say anything to hurt the contestants no matter how honest he is. He could give these kids the benefit of his expertise & as a former contestant ... how to dress .. act on stage .. respond to criticism (just keep smiling) and how to put a song across every week. Yep! I VOTE for MENTOR/SINGER ... at least twice a month ... for the singing that is!
