Pink is a better comparison than Gaga. But Adam is Adam!

I agree PINK is a better comparison for Adam than Gaga but Gaga is HUGE everywhere, so comparing Adam to Gaga will make headline news everywhere...

I'm actually really surprised that Gaga managed to become such a huge artist/icon in 2 years. I wonder what's going to happen to Adam in 2 years. Hopefully he'll achieve as much success around the world like Gaga.

Nasty comment about the handbag. Not necessary.

Agree about homophobic, thoughtless handbag comment.Wish these ignorant, unfunny remarks would just stay in the dark ages. It spoiled what had been a decent interview for me. funbunn40

This is a great interview (forget about that one silly remark). South Africa is embracing Adam Lambert's music. I sure hope that he makes it there before the end of the year to acknowledge this important step for him. Adam would love South Africa. So many artists have been inspired by this great country and their incredible music. I for one will follow closely this new development in his career. Wow!

To me the AMA's are so last year and so is Adam's sexuality. But I love how Adam told the interviewer that the media still brings it up all the time. Adam did this so subtly that the interviewer didn't catch the dig at him being a member of the media and here we are talking the same subject again, he just said 'uh huh.' Loved hearing something new, to me anyway, about Adam being a junior director. No wonder he's so good and knows how to do things better than anyone else. Very goog intercview.

what handbag remark?! I didn't catch it but I think it was just the good old jerk reflex usually applied to gays. Other than that I think it was a really nice interview, at least they made an effort to go beyond the box questions.
I personally think Adam should be flattered by being compared to Gaga, I think it's mostly because of his wildness/edginess which is a lot similar to Gaga in the way that they're not afraid of pushing the envelope and fall down on their faces. Being compared to Pink just shows he is a great singer with a load of talent and powerful vocals(if you think about it, Pink has this major voice and so does Adam and even their images are very charismatic and strong and truthful). I don't think Gaga should be included in this category because she never stops putting an act, either in a concert or just on the street she just has to wear those silly outfits and never lets people(fans) get a glimpse of her without the constant theater. It's one thing to be crazy on stage and wear out-of-this world stuff, which I think are hilarious and like it, but wear it outside in the 'real world'it feels too much and too fake, though I like her music kind of, and I think that's what completely separates Gaga and Adam. Or perhaps she's just completely crazy and I'm being unfair...I do think it's unfair to compare Adam to Gaga. Adam is Adam and Gaga is Gaga, at least for me.

His single is almost gold in South Africa and they expect it to go platinum - yay!!

Yay South Africa for helping Adam achieve his glamrock dream! Hope his single will go platinum and the haters on other sites will get the message. Adam is here to stay his talent is recognized world wide. I haven't been able to find the People mag.most beautiful issue and a site was bashing photos of him wearing angel wings with a cockatoo on his shoulder. You can imagine the negativity. I didn't stay on the site long, as it just made me mad. The photo was not Adam's best and the only one that I must admit lokked bizarre. Has anyone seen it?

Anon @ 11:11

It's the People agazine with Sandra Bullock on the cover holding up her new baby. Adam has a full page.

And as far as haters go - why bother to go to those sites? I only go where there is love of Adam and his music. Why spoil my day?

People have forgotten that Elton John has been "out" for decades and talks/appears with his partner frequently and openly works to raise money for HIV.

It's not interesting when interviewers keep revisiting that subject because it's old news. It isn't a revelation anymore. Seriously, a radio DJ who talks about the gay-thing rather than the CD/music? Ridiculous!

Good interview, except for the unfortunate "then he hit me with his handbag" stupidass comment. Especially the timing of it, when Adam had just finished speaking so sincerely about his recognition of the importance of being an out gay artist and the position of influence he has attained. What a lame and dismissive reply to an eloquently spoken an very important point. To me(as a gay person), that type of comment just epitomizes the ignorance and stereotypes that discourage gay people (espec. those who are in the public eye) from coming out. Just makes it even more difficult to be taken seriously.
PS. I think Adam's new photoshoot with wings, feather inspired upswept hair and cockatoo are fabulously artistic!
PPS. To the person suggesting Gaga is about nothing more than her costumes/image.. I take it you have never actually listened to an interview with her! She is extremely articulate (much like Adam) also complex and overall fascinating individual. Adam usually talks about her intelligence when he is asked about working with Gaga. He said its one of the things he admires most about her.

Liked your very articulate comments above, anon 10:11 re: handbag remark, etc. I'm still annoyed by it{I'm straight}and don't think it's cute. I wish the focus would be more about his incredible talent, his great sense of humour, and lovable personality. I wasn't crazy about the people photo, tho, thought it added fuel to the fire and took away from his artistic credibility, but just my opinion. I just prefer his glam and casual looks, but respect his love of "dress up." funbunn40

p.s. Love Gaga! Think she has a rich, beautiful voice and is intelligent, as Adam says. Maybe a tad eccentric, but she can laugh all the way to the bank. I love her song, Speechless. It's absolutely beautiful.funbunn40
