Adam Lambert on Post-Idol Success, the Media, & Talented Tongue
In the week prior to my conversation with Adam Lambert, he performed sold out shows in Richmond and Coquitlam, B.C., appeared as a guest mentor on American Idol, and performed his current single Whataya Want From Me on the results show. He was also in one of the funniest moments in Idol history with host Ryan Seacrest.
If you haven’t seen the clip yet, hunt it down. While talking about Whataya Want From Me Adam told Ryan he had to stick his tongue out to hit the high note. In response Seacrest replied “my tongue is not nearly as talented as yours.”
“That made me laugh too. That was a brilliant moment. It was not rehearsed. It is moments like that which make interviewing fun,” Lambert told GayCalgary and Edmonton Magazine. The look on everyone’s face, from Lambert’s to Seacrest’s to the Glee cast seated behind them added to the hilarity. To top it off, Adam mouthed the words, “It’s true.”
“It is true!” he said, chuckling at the memory. “Whatever went through my mind was pretty clear on camera. It was like oh... ok. I thought it was funny.”
Seacrest always seemed to stumble over his words around Lambert, even when he was an idol-contestant last season. Is it possible he has a little man-crush on Lambert?
“Ryan’s great. I don’t know him personally, my only interaction is being interviewed by him either on Idol or his radio show. He is always really cool with me. I think he knows I can take a joke and he can tease me, it will all be in good fun. We have a good time.”
For someone with only a year of experience since Idol, Lambert’s advice in leading contestants through Elvis week was often spot on.

(and btw, I don't care what anyone says, IMHO Seacrest does indeed get all fanboy around Lambert like this interviewer boldly drew attention to, TO ADAM, which I love, 1st time I've read of something like that being said directly to Lambert. I am not suggesting Seacrest is gay... but there is something that happens to Seacrest around Lambert, nobody will convince me otherwise or that I'm reading too much into their brief public interactions. Call me ridic, but I'm stickin' to my thoughts... I'm not saying it's mutual - I think it's onesided for Seacrest, and it could be just pure admiration of Lambert's talent (and why not) but it's something.

Anon 6:57 My thoughts exactly re Ryan's adoration of Adam. During AI8 he even got stooopid a couple of times while trying to interview/announce Adam. You are not ridiculous and you are not alone in your thinking. And after WWFM on season 9, Ryan screemed into the mic "Wow now that's a performance," and couldn't seem to keep his hands off Adam. As for Ryan's admiration of Adam's talent, he could be a little kinder in spinning Adam's songs more often on his radio show. Personally, I think Ryan is way too full of himself.
Yes - I find Ryan to be a cocky little bastard (excuse my language)! Only wants to hear himself talk.

I am hoping to see that tongue on tour! I love it when he goes all out tongue when he hits those notes! The Adam-scream is one of my favorite things about him. I do love his octaves but the scream-tongue-thing is original to him so, bring it on.

Re: tongue - just came upon a fan video on YouTube last night that I'd never seen before (shockingly enough:)) - lot's of tongue, lol. I think it's to a song called "Marvelous", so if you're interested, you can look it up under Adam and that song title. (I think the song is marvelous??, don't have time to search right now, but I think that's it). I can't even believe I'm posting this right now, embarrassing, LOL LOL, but you tongue appreciators might get a kick out of it... and let's be honest, there's a lot of us tongue appreciators out there...am I right?? LOL.

I have a few favorite fan videos that I actually like better, but this one is hot too. Some of the editing jobs on these fan videos are incredible! Requests for good fan video's always appreciated btw ;).

I recently found JamieGlambert's youtube channel, which is full of good fan videos she has made (I've only watched a few so far, but futuristic lover is great - it's "currently unavailable", but I hope will be back soon. Bad Romance is amazing, and Speechless....I think she's done all the Lady Gaga songs to Adam, and has made me like her songs way better in the process!

watched the Marvelous video and noticed it was by KcinKcity. He/she has done many great videos but my favourite is Take it Off. He fits the actions to the song so well. Just you tube Adam Lambert Take it off.

Sorry to take up so much space - these fan videos are just fun, I know they are not for everyone, but they're a good time for those who are into them... and again, I find the editing and creativity AMAZING, kudos to the skills of those that do them!
