I AGREE that Adam is already an icon. I don't know what kind of icon but he's an icon for so many people already.

In a few more years, he'll be a legend. :D

It's just that the radio needs to play him more!!

BTW. I heard that Adam is the #1 best selling NEW pop male artist this year?

I saw Lee DeWyse on Leno recently. Hate to speak ugly, but he was not good. He was off key (or as they say now--pitchy) and still had that flat affect. Just nothing there above the shoulders. Leno said good job with a handshake, but it was clearly not the enthusiastic greeting he gives Adam. Lee did a cover of Elton John's Rocket Man. EJ is a true icon, so maybe a bad choice for Lee.

I don't understand Why AL doesn`t sell more albums.. that sales are only in US or International too?.

He is a real success. I know that anyone listening his music and watching him performing fall in love, maybe he needs more publicity and difusion in media but the GOOD ONE. I think he needs more of this help in his own country because Other countries in Europe, Asia even South America love him.

@Anon 8:53....

Those numbers are only for the US and in this day in age it's pretty impressive!

As for Adam not selling more than he is currently there is many reasons.

#1. He is an openly gay artist.
(this isn't a case of Elton, or George Michael who were legends BEFORE they came out.) Adam is ground breaker! People and radio stations are still warming up to him.

#2. The AMA's
If you're going to be "controversial" at least give a good performance!!!! Being controversial will grab you headlines for sure but people will only buy what you are selling if you are GOOD!

Adam's performance at the AMA's was pretty bad! I love him and I am not trying to insult him at all and have no problem with the things people took offense to.

The thing is he did shocking things but didn't give a great performance! He gave his worst vocal EVER and then tripped and fell! If he had delivered the controversy AS WELL as an amazing performance it probably would have worked in his favor rather than against him!

#3 Like all "idols" his first album isn't up to his standards as an artist(they all go on tour right after idol and have barely any time to write or record)

Kelly's first album didn't exactly fly off of shelves either but she EXPLODED with her second album!

About the AMA'S, I agree that was not his best performance, he was so nervous and that performance could have conditioned the album sales at the begining but that was more than six months ago..if people is intelligent knows that bad performances happen even in the most experimented artists.

About the Album.. for me is one of the best i've heard in years, i can't tired of listening all the tracks, I love how sounds the different music styles in his voice.
I still have hopes in his first album, there are many hits here, of course I believe with more time the second album will be more successful.

About being an openly gay artist..Sad he wasn't born in Europe, the prejuice in US is really big and for this lose the oportunity to have a great and unique artist like AL.

About the «controversial» AMA's... in my opinion, the «BAD» didn't come out from Adam's performance, but from some sick minds that should be as shut as some mouths. Just saiyng...

To people in the USA, please note that 671,000 CDs sold is INCREDIBLE these days. So many people are downloading and listening to Adam's music and songs worldwide. That's JUST the US sales, not worldwide figures. In most countries, selling 100,000 CDs is totally mind-blowing. C'mon, cheer on for these great FYE sales!

Mr.Adam Lambert is amazing. He has many loving fans.If we all get together and just buy his album one more time he can easy get to platinum level.Start twitting that idea.

Not only is the 671 figure just US sales, but I think it reflects only physical cd sales, right? I don't think that # includes US DOWNLOADS even, right? Pretty darn good in this era of widespread music piracy if you ask me. I know several people myself who have obtained FYE without purchasing it traditionally. I don't give them a hard time about it, many do it, right or wrong, it is what it is...but I encourage them to at least purchase the music videos traditionally when and as they come out :)!!
