From ET: Behind the Scenes of Adam Lambert's New Tour!

ET has your exclusive backstage pass to the opening show of Adam Lambert's Glam Nation Tour in New York on Tuesday night.

It's Adam's first solo tour, but the rocker tells ET his butterflies have passed and he's ready to rock onstage at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square.

"When I was putting together the show there was a little bit of pressure and I was a little nervous about it," he admits, continuing: "The nerves are all gone -- and now it's more excitement. Now it's like, I can't wait to show this to everybody. I can't wait to share this with my fans."

The "American Idol" alum promises his fans a show they won't soon forget, with plenty of songs from his album For Your Entertainment and lots of dazzling visuals. "There are nods in there to Boy George, there are nods to Michael Jackson maybe, to 'The Matrix'... There's a little something for everybody and it's all kind of put together in this big melting pot."

But after setting off controversy at the AMAs last year with an on-screen kiss that Adam now calls an artistic experiment, will his new tour be controversial as well?

"I think that I've found a really great balance of things that have their edginess and they have their sexiness to them, but it's done in a way where I don't think it's going to alienate anybody. It's kind of just right -- it's right down the middle," Adam says.

Watch the video for Adam's thoughts on the upcoming one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, and for more behind-the-scenes excitement from his concert.

Adam's Glam Nation Tour across the U.S. wraps up September 21 in Washington. In the meantime, you can help the star support education through the "Glam a Classroom" campaign.

I think AL's great working relationship w/ ET (long term at this point) plays into, if even only a little, the reason why E News (Broadcast and E Online)is a bit snarky when covering Lambert. I do realize that E News' whole feel is sort of snarky, that's their thing, but, to me, they're a bit much when it comes to their coverage of Lambert (when they even cover him which is not much)...something's at play? Just my POV, but anyway, glad to see ET, online or broadcast, giving AL some decent coverage. (Don't even know why I'm mentioning negative E News??? Silly of me to even bring them up)

Agree with you, MassGlamFan.

Talking about decence, what a honey Adam is... he said when he sees so many races and colours and different people among his fans he thinks it's the universal power of music.
No way, sweet, it's for sure the universal power of Adam Lambert!

Nothing is silly to bring up on this site when it is your honest opinion. We can agree to disagree on small things, but we all know that Adam is the epitome of all things fabulous.

Great fan site name since Mass can mean massive as well as Massachusetts. Hats off to you!!!

Hi Jan,
I believe when you say you love sweet Adam so much and are only a few down there.
I am in Azores/Portugal (and have the same situation here) and have right now a 25 years old girl from New Zealand living with me and she had never heard about Adam Lambert until a few days ago. Sad! Let's enlighten our countrypeople about our golden boy, will we?

hi Jan,
tomorrow I'll ask my mate where she is from N.Zealand (guess she's from south), because it's late night here and she is already sleeping. She got a lovely job here this summer as a tourist guide for wales watching... while I am just a cook, not even a chef... poor me, old bitch! Only sweet Adam can calm me down and give me strength!

fan4fun: You welcome. I thought the New York show was at his very best so far. I saw him in Toronto, it was fantastic but not as hot as this. Will be seeing more shows in Aug. I hope the hotness will get even hotter by then!! Maybe I should wear my bathing suits to the concert, haha..

I just came home from the second Nokia concert in NYC, and it was completely mind-blowing! The venue was sold out (and general admission, which made for some testy interchanges as people jockeyed for position in a packed house). At any rate, I opted not to see the stage straight-on, but instead found a spot at the right corner of the stage, so that Adam was only 20 feet away. He was in top form, loving NYC, NYC loving him, and encored with a fast version of 'Mad World" right into an epic, unbelievable, endless "Whola Lotta Love" where his voice reached new heights. I'll be going to see him again out west. Oh, and he practically ate Tommy alive tonight, kissing him again and again (Tommy laughed). ROWRR!!
