oh sweet lord! why the comparison? this is so pathetic! they don't even put the right info to begin with, for instance Lambert is set for two venues in MN, Shooting star on the 11th and Mystic lake on the 12th. Btw, I am so excited that I'll be seeing him @ shooting star...pimpinnnnnnn. I love Adam!

I'm surprised Kris's album sold so little.....That's...really bad.

Kris didn't sell alot of albums becuase he has no promotion. not becuase he has a small fanbase or that his music sucks. his company isn't doing much to promote his music which is so much better than Adam's.

whereares, Adam whores himself out to every magazine etc etc. and create controversy everywhere he goes! Adam isn't about the music. Kris sounds better than Adam live.

I'm a Kris fan forever. He's humble and cute.

This is not a very accurate article. Allen wrote a lot of his songs, but the only ones that have been played and promoted are covers. Nothing against Allen, but these are the facts. Lambert also wrote 6 of the songs on his album. Several,like Broken Open, could be single hits. The three Lambert released singles were also not penned by the artist. We are yet to see how song writing ability by either artist will translate to sales.

Adam has a huge international fan base. Naturally the Idol winner, Kris, received the greatest promotion and opportunity to display his wares. The Idol winner is always given the preferences and the invitations, and this is as it should be. It is clear that Allen's appeal is not as widespread as Lambert's, but he also has a dedicated following.

The fact remains that Allen is just not as vocally talented as Lambert. For example, No Boundaries was removed from the Idol tour because it strained Allen's range. Allen can not at this time sustain a tour as the headliner. Lambert's 70+ city North American tour is almost completely sold out. His international tour is expected to do as well.

While each artist has his own niche, it is abundantly clear that Lambert has taken full advantage of the opportunities Idol presented even as the runner up. His intelligence and likeable personality are a bonus to his fans.

Only time will tell the ultimate success and longetivity of all the Idol alumni. At this stage, Lambert has the clear advantage in creativity, personality and sheer vocal talent. Judging by Lambert's earlier success at several locations, he should do very well in his tour and gain many more adament fans.

To be perfectly honest, I was hoping that all these comparisons would end now that we are entering into another new year after the idol craze. Very much so time to move forward and leave these comparisons to those who have less to do. Both Adam and Kris are doing fine and we, as fans, aren't doing either of them any favors with the continual "trying to up the other" garbage. Be happy for both...it's a big world!

I don't get why Adam is touring around the country right now and Kris isn't??? WTF? Kris is more popular and famous than Adam.

Both Kris and Adam deserve the best and though I am more into Adam's music, I respect Kris and have watched a couple of his performances and he is a solid entertainer and it is true that he does write music. Adam is single and has the freedom to do whatever he thinks it takes to keep his name out there, which is difficult these days, I say more power to him and respect Kris's more layed back approach - though I too think his mgmt staff and/or Label could do a lot more for him than they do.
One point, I know Adam says he wrote 6 songs on his album but I think it would be more accurate to say he colaborated with other artists on these songs. I do believe Adam can write his own stuff, and I am looking forward to his next album, when he will have more time to write, but I think for now he needs to say, (as he did when the album first came out), that he wrote with colaboration (sp?). What do you think? Please be clear, I am an Adam fan and don't mean to be negative here.

Actually Anon @ 7:01pm - if I'm being really candid, I was wondering about this writing issue too - more from the angle of my thinking he wrote on 4 of the songs... I haven't checked the liner notes yet - AL just made this comment about writing on 6 songs in the last fews days and I've not had time to check the liner notes yet - but I had thought, previous to AL's recent comment about 6 that he had written on 4 tracks -do any of you fans know the deal on this?? Also, I understand Anon/7:01pm what you are saying about when AL says writing vs. collaborating... I think it's just a matter of semantics, and more importantly the pace of the interview in question etc. - he most often talks about cowriting and collaborating (at this point, everyone knows how gracious AL is to those he works with) but here and there he just chooses the briefer wording of "writing" or "wrote" etc. ... just my humble opinion from observing and consuming many many interviews :). Saw your post 7:01pm and didn't want to be in ANY WAY negative as I think AL is really something special...but did hear what you were saying/wondering about and thought I'd respond. Just one person's POV :). Would be open to further clarification if any fans want to comment in on it!

As far as the original theme of this thread w/ Kris Allen - moving on, no comment... except to maybe say - how frickin' cool was it, is it, that Lambert mentored on AI this past season... I mean, when I think about that I'm stunned all over again - soooo awesome (and telling). Yay.

I just have noticed this the last few days and it may not make a difference in the end but I just wondered why he needed to stress this point as no one who likes him cares if he wrote alone or with others. Someone must have said something that caused him to respond this way???

Yes bec/7:01 & 8:01 - 7:23 here again - I think you are absolutely right about "someone must have said something..." I believe some naysayers have been nitpicking about this issue in the last few months here and there. Lambert made a less than subtle comment about writing at the beginning of a song at the Boston (Mansfield, MA) Kiss 108 concert last week also (and other subtle comments here and there too). Geez, with some people the guy just can't catch a break... he's freakin' criminally insanely talented and some naysayers just can let it go! :)

Why is there the need to continue to compare them??? They are so different as performers. The world is big enough for both of them, so just leave them be!!

i am so proud to be a fan of mr. lambert ! prooving that you don't need to be a winner/have title to be successful. with everything he's got, with his limitations, his dedications and hardworking, he took the chance, make the best out of it, and hopefully he'll continue do success !

kris has all the radio stations in US backing him, and logically of course the winner would have more promotions (than the non winnings), more opportunities. it's a matter of how u use them. and i think kris' doing alright too.

Regarding Adam's song writing: He did write the song just like Pink wrote WWFM. Pink's writing was done in collaboration with Martin, just like Adam's original creations were polished and tweaked in collaboration. The words and melodies are his for the most part. Song writing is generally and most successfully done in collaboration with another artist/artists. Look at the fantastic Elton John. Adam goes out of his way to say thank you to everyone and minimizes his involvement. But the truth is that he is extremely involved in all aspects of what you see and hear. He's just a modest and humble man. He doesn't brag and is always greatful for everything. By his own admission, he is opinionated, so you know that the creations you hear are greatly influenced by Adam's own creativity.

Kris is doing just fine, but he will never have the international following that Adam will have. It's just reality. They are so completely different. I wish that the Idol results would have been honest without 37 million coming from Arkansas. If Adam had won as he should have, there would never have been any controversy among fans. It would have been the right thing to do. Adam took the high road by congratulating Kris and making the most of his 2nd place opportunities. Idol screwed up in a big way in season 8 disillusioning many people, and I think it will lead to their demise next year. Too many things not going their way.

Christy dear, you are badly informed about your favorite artist. Kris Allen is in fact touring the country. He is playing in small venues, and he is not headlining the tour. Suggest you spend more time following Kris than following Adam. Kris even tweeted a picture of the motor home that he said he would be living in for the next 3 months.

Anon 7:01 and anon 7:23, I wonder if he is referring to his international release with bonus tracks, when he says he wrote six songs. He's probably including Voodoo and Down the Rabbit Hole.

All your doing is causing trouble---1.adam had more album sales!! 2.His Fye album came in at #3 at billboard and 3. wwfm single came in at #10 at billboard! and I never heard No Boundaries from allen on da radio?! was that a single for him? I'm so happy that Adam's tour is finally kicking off, I'll try to follow his concerts in UStream! A big thank you to all of the American Fans that will record the concert and post it live on the spot.
Now, onto the subject of this thread, all I have to say is ENOUGH...this type of news are a broken record!
I read some ppl talking about Adam's writing and I agree with the few that said he's just too humble to come out and say 'I wrote this, this and that' probably 'cause that would undermine the work of so many people that helped create his album and put his ideas to work.
As to why is there another artist's fan, and such a devoted one at that, in here I have no idea but my personal advice to whomever feels the need to respond is just : IGNORE IT! Lol

I am one of Adam's international fans. There are many of us. Maybe because English is just a second or even third language for us, we do not come out and post in sites like these. But just by looking at the number of comments to sites of Adam vis-a-vis those of Kris Allen, Adam usually has 3 or 4 times more fans than the latter. To that Kris fan trespassing here, learn to live with reality.

The TRUTH is I feel sick when I read articles about Adam being compared to any American Idol winner/finalist as it makes me feel stupid. I know exactly where Adam stands and there's no comparison to make at all!

I just read this morning where he mentioned writing Voodoo with Sam Sparro; I had forgotten and/or just spaced it that he could be talking about the Int'l release and ALL of the tracks on that! You are correct I believe, thanks. (and Yay... like his writing on some of the pre-Idol stuff!).

awww this is not right, I am a huge Adam fan but I like Kris too and don't see the point of stuff like this. Adam fans still mad he lost kris fans mad that Adam become bigger afterwards, what's the point, these two guys dont compare and dont care, they are both getting to do what they love for a living and have scored success on commercial radio.

Kris's main problem is just that its a tough industry right now, going through a lot of changes and its a crowded field for him, he has a good voice but his style is just too similar to others out there. Ironically the guy next door thing that helped him win AI is a negative in the industry right now as it is too familiar, that's what Lee will face also, yeah you're good but what makes you stand out from the crowd and get noticed?

Adam stands out for lots of reasons not the least of which is his talent but its also his showmanship and his desire to keep changing it up, like that freaking worst of the 90's outfit he wore to wango tango, a little silly really but hey ya know what people were talking about Adam's pants LOL. He's polarizing but love him or hate him people notice him and talk about him.

And selling tour tickets is tough now too as we have seen pleople have had to put off shows. The things is now that you can't really make much money off of albums (no one buys them anymore) touring is where the money is and acts basically tour all the time, way way more than acts used to years ago.

So this field also is very very crowded and how many can you go to, especially when tix are expensive and ppl still struggling. I got tix for black eyed peas in Aug only to find out that green day and kings of leon will be in the area around the same time, would love to see them too but can't do them all.

i think we all need to step back from our keyboards, and take a deep breathe for a second. The bad blood between some adam/kris fans is getting immature, because the whole thing should be behind us. both adam and kris are living their dreams, it doesn't matter to either that they aren't number one on the charts or best sellers in history. Kris never struck me as the person who would just love spending every second in the limelight, he just wants to make music. Adam loves to have a spotlight on him, because he loves performing for people and being his flamboyant self. What shouldn't matter is who's more famous, who should have won, etc. Would it have honestly made a difference if adam won the show? I sincerely doubt it. This way, he became his own artist and another singer got to live his dream.

No Boundaries peaked at #11 Live Like Were Dying peaked at #18 and so Kris is the only winner not to have a top 10 single, the only winner not to have a top 10 album and has the lowest selling debut album ever by an idol winner!

His album got horrible reviews as well!
