Orianthi has canceled the second half of Adam Lambert's Glam Nation Tour, so she will no longer be opening for him at OTW. However, American Idol star, Allison Iraheta has been added to the Show and will now be Adams opener for the remaining of the tour!

It will be interesting to see the change. Some had said that the opening was too long and everyone just wants more ADAM! I also heard that this was planned from beginning because she has other commitments that start now. Hope this gives Allison an exposure boost - she is SO talented and such a good match up with Big Bro!

What's OTW? Sounds like great news for Allison. I thought her set was way too short. I like Orianthi but I loooooveee Allison & can't even explain how I feel about Adam :)

OTW = On The Waterfront I believe.

Allison's "Just Like Me" is really great IMHO - I listen to it all the time.

I'm thrilled but hope there's no problem between Adam and Orianthi....but i really can't imagine anyone having a problem with Adam.
Personally, I loved Allison performance on the tour and wished that her set was longer and Orianthi's was shorter....so this might work out well for everyone!

I thought Allison was too young to sing in the casinos and I will be seeing Adam at the Winstar in Okla. Does anyone know what will happen with this?

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't really know what I would have missed with Orianthi because my show to see Adam is still a long ways to go. It is all business decisions for sure ...of course nothing to do with Adam. Probably better for Allison then they can have her set extended! or better yet have Adam set extended!... now that's a great idea!:)See you again soon Adam!!! Sooooooooo excited!!!

Orianthi's facebook shows her still doing the California shows which is July 23rd - July 31st. She is also suppose to be at the Vegas show. So I wonder if it is after Vegas?

Couple weeks ago I heard Allison will not be going to continue the tour, there was a petition to ask the management to keep Allison which I participated. Now that Orianthi has cancelled, I am glad Allison will be staying. Orianthi' is an amazing guitarist but her performance is a bit boring. Adam playing the big brother role really try to promote Allison which she so deserve it.
Love u Adam always supporting other artist, such a generous soul.

quick shoutout to 24/7 glamily...got so irritated over that protest nonsense...to feel better I decided to spend $$$$$$ and go to Vegas (in 2 weeks). My 2nd 'booked' concert BUT first one to attend....so excited. Who cares about work and money!!? Wanted to share my excitement...so please excuse the off topic....just feeling the need to be in Adam's presence!!!

Only problem is that Ali is too young to play in adult venues. Otherwise, the girl just rocks!!

honestly, orianthi is a good guitarist but singer, i doubt it. she should stick with playing the guitar. when she opened up for john mayer in sydney, i found her booooring.

@G&S July 16 8:49 PM -

Yippee for you! You go girl.

MGF

ps. and really, I bet this GNT is our last chance to see AL in more intimate settings for reasonable ticket prices. (that's me helping you rationalize your AL related purchases and time taken off from work G&S, ;), lol).

Off topic: @ G&S So excited for you and the experience of a lifetime that awaits you. When he comes down the stairs singing voodoo [at first site] the audience gasps at the sheer beauty of this man. I'm going to see him for the 2nd x, 8/28, which would have been my 32nd anniversary, if my husband still was living. Can't think of a better way to celebrate the gift of Adam and joy he brings! funbunn40

aww funbunn40 - celebrating life, love & light on 8/28, what a fitting tribute to your own love. Hope it's a perfect day from beginning to end for you on 8/28. MGF.

As talented as Orianthi is, I really prefer Allison having a longer set and finishing the tour. I saw them both in Charlotte, totally loved Allison [especially Don't Waste the Pretty]and would have liked to hear more of her. She was the perfect flow into Adam. After Orianthi's first or second song, I was ready for Adam. Maybe because Monte Pittman is also an accomplished guitarist and didn't see the need for Orianthi. I'm not taking anything away from her talent. She is extraordinary. Just think Allison suits this tour perfectly. I also love seeing her with Adam. They are so in sync and love to see the affection between them. I know he wants her to stand on her own and be showcased without stealing her thunder, but she's strong enough now to shine and hold her own. Would love to see them sing together. Orianthi may also have had another opportunity to tour elsewhere for more exposure and it has to be expensive with two opening acts. I think there also is fine tuning as the tour progresses. It's been stellar so far and so well put together. The dancers are polished and in their groove too. love it! funbunn40

Maybe this will open up some thoughts about duets for Adam and Allison. Slow Ride anyone?

I am going to Thunder Valley Casino in Calif this coming week. Orianthi was scheduled, but the tix DO say "over 18" on them. Would Love to Allison instead!

Yes, would love to see and hear "slow ride"! It would be great for Adam to bring Allison back on for just one number.

I would love to know if Adam or anyone in his family reads this 24/7 blog. Maybe you fans who are lucky enough to get a meet and greet could just ask him. I do wish that he could know about "our" support.

Looking forward to seeing next month!!

OMG!!!!!!!!! YES SLOW RIDE!!!!!!!! :)

@G&S - agree w/ Adam Fix - yes yes REPORTS please (on of my favorite things is fan-driven GNT experience reports!)

@Daydreaminmyl - you too after Thunder Valley
- REPORTS please (and btw Daydreaminmyl, saw your comment about wanting to join the wardrobe team - you're in, you too Adam Fix, saw your request as well, we'll make up a schedule, I'm not greedy ;)...any seamstresses in the bunch?, AL's poor blue & black pants need some reinforcing in the seams and stitching in the front cuz BB stresses them out so much ;)...so glad to see you back after your busy week Adam Fix!!)

But back On topic - for whatever it's worth to whoever may be interested - a hubby's POV, he loved Allison, could have listened to her longer easily ,marvelled at Ori's guitar playing but actually thought it got a bit screechy after a song or two and preferred Monte's "finesse" and beautiful subtleties on guitar playing (acoustic and plugged in), and he was, um, how shall I say it, CONTENT to see Ori's set end.

oh, FB40 & Adamluv - you too - Reports please.

Adamluv - maybe you can give us a formal comparison and contrast between the TWO shows you're seeing :), lucky you!! MGF

Orianthi is supposed to play this weekend at a casino in my state, just days before she is supposed to play the Showbox Sodo a few miles south of that Casino. She also had commitments in the middle of Glam Nation in Europe and Asia. It seemed like a grueling and ambitious schedule. Perhaps she just decided it was taking a toll. I would have seen both her and Allison in Seattle, but I was disappointed that Allison wouldn't be at the Fair in September. Now she will, and I am thrilled! I also have tickets to Portland's Crystal Ballroom. I hope Allison will be there too. Much luck to Ori, though. She's amazing.

Just noticed that Ori was in Calgary last night too. Very busy girl. Rock on, Ori.

I saw one concert in June and will be seeing another in August (can't wait). Allison has an amazing voice and I enjoyed her set, although I thought it was too short. Orianthi's talent is her guitar playing, but it was overdone (IMO) in many of her numbers. Her set was too long and many of the songs started sounding too similar. I liked when she slowed it down on one set and liked how she performed the Prince "Crazy" cover using it as a good interaction with the crowd to pump up the crowd for Adam. On both of their sets, I could not understand the words they were singing; whereas, when Adam sang, I could understand every word - his phrasing was beautiful.

Hopefully Allison will open for the August concert. One suggestion to her is to interact more with the crowd so that they are out of their seats even before Adam comes on. Personally, I don't need an opening act for Adam, his voice is all I need.

As far as Adam and Ali doing "Slow Ride" I don't see it happening because it would not fit in Adam's set and I don't see him coming out prior to his opening number. If Adam has time to do an additional number, I would much rather him perform a song he has not done live yet (PUU, MP, or CLYG). He did not even do WLL at the June concert because they ran out of time. I would have much rather Orianthi cut one of her numbers so Adam could have done WLL. I also think Adam wants Allison to shine on her own and this is such a great opportunity for her. I really love how Adam looks out for her, he is a true friend.

Anonymous said...

I agree with you Anon 8:51 regarding "Slow Ride". It wouldn't fit in unless maybe as a 1st encore if that was at all possible. But I know Adam wants her to shine on her own.

I too LOVE Pick U Up.....it's one of my favorites.....a happy sound. Would love to see him do that one. Looking forward to the concert next month.

It will be interesting to see the difference in venues. I went to Baltimore and the crowd was really into Allison. We really tried with Orianthi but it was soooo hard to understand her. I remember people turning around just shrugging their shoulders, "like what did you say and what do you want us to do". We really tried and I believe in giving ALL of the performing artists my full attention.

Let's see how Richmond turns out. Yippeee I am sooooo excited for August.

OT response:

@MGF & FB40....reports--of course!! So anxious for this experience.
Oh...I'm very "handy" and very willing to sew any rips....add me to the wardrobe team roster.

Anonymous said...

Orianthi did what she felt she had to do...girl knows wassup...haha.....Yea,Allison is truly underaged for the casinos and it kinda shows because she outsings her songs...i guess she thinks she has to sing that loud because everyone around her is older...but I love Allison too, however, I just don't think she's as naughty as Adam..and it could possibly affect his image....

Anonymous said...

Are you sure about this, because I checked her site, and she never intended to do every show. She's still in some of the shows. She can't cancel unless she is sick. What about her fans that have booked tickets to see her at the Adam Lambert show. Y'all better check her site. I was on there today. If it has changed, I think we would know about it in the news, and on Yahoo. We'll see.

this is great publicity for Orianthi..

They will all have their own careers. It is not Adams job to babysit Allison.

thank goodness he can't have any children ,( with his male lover's) cause if he does not care about other ppl's kids ???then how much would he care about his own ??????

OFF TOPIC:Oh Adamluv, 2 concerts in a row! Can your heart stand it? G&S, worried about you too! Who's going to fan you if you feel faint? I get excited about all that will share the Adam experience! Daydreaminmyl, maybe you'll see Adamluv! Now for the most exciting part, Adam's wardrobe! MGF, since you are in charge of scheduling, as I've said before, I'm very good at taking out knots]laces in pants] if there is a problem, my specialty is stuck zippers[blue pants]. I take my time to work out the problem without damaging any of the goods! Also, if there are any medical mishaps, my medical training may come in handy. I can also glue glitter on Adam's wardrobe, preferably with him in it[for proper placement]. It can be hazardous, especially if your hand gets crazy-glued to the object.I'll be happy to work in any of these very critical areas, or wherever needed. Thanks also for kind words! My daughter, jgirl911 will meet me in Raleigh.Hope to see anyone on this site there too! anon:4:48, Don't know if any of Adam's family or friends visit this site. It would be nice for them to see our support and get a few laughs, or we may scare them to death! haha funbunn40

Anonymous said...

@ 5:25pm, Who are you talking about? Did you accidentally get on the wrong site? You couldn't be speaking about Adam, because your statement doesn't apply. funbunn40

Saw 3 concerts, Orianthi played at the first 2-she was not in KC, and I for one did not miss her at all. I have 2 more concerts, and I hope she is not with him. Plays a mean guitar, but is way too loud and can"t distinguish a word she says

Anonymous said...

Allison seems to be under the impression that she needs to scream at the top of her lungs. After 3 concerts, I'm going to say she will never be a headliner.

Anonymous said...

Is the legal age to work in casinos 21? Allison is 18. I think the legal age in some states. I hope she will finish the tour and replace Orianthi in the rest of the venues. She's grown a lot in performance since Idol.I think Adam has been a great mentor. As stated by anon 4:51," Adam is not a babysitter for Allison." She is an adult, but he chooses to be a good friend and supporter of her career. He also became that good friend and "big brother" to her on Idol and he's a caring and loyal friend. I think he has a close friendship with all of his performers and has a personal interest in each one of them. I would guess Orianthi had other opportunities that would be a better fit for her and all could probably sense that Allison was favored by the audience for this venue. funbunn40

Anonymous said...

Glamberts let Allison ruin her voice but won't let Adam do it and he's older..

Anonymous said...

Unforch, when I went to see Adam at Foxwoods, I'd already heard how long Orianthi's set was, so I skipped he first hour of the show. The drawback was that I missed Allison. Orianthi is very talented, but I feel she is yet another huge talent being minimized to appeal to teenyboppers. Love to see what she does in the future, perhaps when she has more autonomy. Meanwhile, the change in lineup makes me want to see the concert again!

saw alison last night with adam, she does a great show, wish i could go again, for those of you that havent seen the show, go early!! :)

agree funbunn40 at 5:41...like what were they thinking?

adam would be a loving wonderful father. that's my emphatic and not very humble opinion on this topic!

dana

@Dana, Yes, he would be a loving, great Dad and any child would be privileged to have Eber and Leila as grandparents. They sure did a great job with Adam and Neil. Love your emphatic opinion! Are you going to any more concerts? funbun40

I've been to 2 concerts and have tickets to 2 more. Allison's voice was powerful - sounded great. There was a lull in the crowd energy during Orianthi. And then Adam was just magical. But Orianthi's presence didn't really add anything to the concert, in my opinion. And I really wished I could have heard Allison longer. I hope Allison's the opening act for at least one of the two I'm seeing here in Atlanta.

Anonymous said...

I think On The Waterfront got their info wrong. Ori is still opening for Adam at a bunch of venues. She cancelled for OTW and I think one other venue, but that is all I see so far. OTW should have left it up to Orianthi's management to make that kind of statement.

Anonymous said...

"4:51" yea, you got a point there...however, I think what they were trying to do was to make the show family-oriented because of Idol; however, that idea backfired....On the other hand,I guess Adam feels he could give Allsion the kickstart she needs besides feeling that he has the responsibility to carry her under his coat...some people will like the brotherly kinda thing like parents however, in music, well, it just doesn't really work....

WTH is the NEGATIVE poster here? What's all this NASTY aimed at ADAM & Allison? Are you LOST?? We talk about POSITIVE things here ... NEGATIVITY is NOT allowed! We all LOVE ADAM, Allison & Orianthi as well as ADAM's band & dancers so if you can't say anything NICE ... PLEASE keep your comments OFF this site! Thank You & GOODBYE!!

I enjoyed seeing them all. I would have loved to see Adam longer but have you looked at his schedule? This has got to be hard even though this is the dream. The show IS magical and I would love to go to another. I also lost my husband ( we have got to stop this cancer thing for real ) and our anniversary is New Years Eve , playing anywhere Adam ? I haven't felt so alive since , till the concert in MI. Anyway , sorry to be a bummer but the effect he has on people is amazing! We all have a story don't we. mcnjanw

Yeah, we do...I was able to get decently priced tix to the Portland concert, had it all planned. Was put in the hospital....now I'm told I have some icky heart disease and CAN'T GO. Couldn't take the stress of the travel, lines, etc I guess. (Although, keeling over from an "Adamgasm"...there are worse ways to go..LOL!!) Anyway..WEEP for me Adam fans! Or better yet, take really GREAT videos for me to look at!! Love ya all in Adam

mcnjanw, It is wonderful that Adam made you feel so good, he has such a powerful affect on people! Very sorry about your husband. I also worry about his schedule being too much. Anon 6:11, that really is yucky news! You have my sympathy on this one. Hope your health continues to improve. Adamluv

Have been away for the weekend so "catching up"...Actually happy that Allison is doing some of the concerts that Orianthi was scheduled to do (although she's great too) so that my husband could see her live at Puyallup....he really liked her on Idol...and he isn't going to the Seattle concert...and she's such a cutie...As long as Adam is there, its ALL GOOD!!!!

Will ignore the uninformed negativity re Adam being a parent, he'll be a fabulous dad, from what I see....Where did that come from?????

And to anon at 6:11 pm: so sorry your opportunity to see Adam has been nixed for now, hoping your health will improve so that the next time around you'll be raring to go, and get a fabulous seat...Gotta say that hearts do skip a beat or two at his concerts and they do tend to race as well, so death by "Adamgasm" is potentially a "problem" for a lot of us...

Anonymous said...

I wish this translated into more adam...but I don't think it will.
I don't know if Allison's set could be much longer, her voice sounded almost shot in Louisville...but that didn't stop me from enjoying the upbeat music which is more on track with getting a crowd pumped up for Adam.
Orianthi is talented but just not a good fit for opening for Adam. It was OK but just not my thing.
Face it...just like all openers, it's an opportunity for a new act to get their music out there but that is not why people buy the ticket.
The only thing is without a longer opener, Adam's short performance just seems more so.
However,at GA concerts...that is fine, cause they are hot, crowded, and tiring.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Bottom line...of the 2 I would rather see Allsion than Orianthi open for Adam (and I don't want slow ride or any other duet).
