OK THAT'S IT!
a while ago this girl/guy Jackie, Jack, Jacks or whomever she/he was warned us about this and I was the first one who attacked them.

Now I'm going to do exactly what they suggested and tweet Adam and ask him WHAT THE F*** IS GOING ON?!!! THERE ARE SONGS MORE WORTHLESS THAT SH** PLAYIN ON THE RADIO AND STILL NO ADAM!

THIS HAS TO BE DONE, I DONT CARE IF YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE BUT IF YOU LUV ADAM YOU SHOULD ALL TWEET HIM AND ASK HIM WHY THE RADIOS ARENT PLAYIN HIS SONGS! WHEN TWITTER BLOWS UP WITH OUR RAGE AND UNHAPPINESS SOMEONE SOMWHERE WILL EVENTUALLY ANSWER THE REASON WHY!

DO IT IF YOU LUV ADAM!

RITAAA PLEAAASEEE!!!

I'm "Jax" and I'm a guy. Please don't put this on me, I NEVER SAID ANYONE SHOULD DO THIS! I just asked the Glamberts is it ok if we do and will it help Adam which they said "not now".

Now listen I know you are angry, we all are. And I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything but this CAN HURT ADAM AS MUCH AS IT CAN HELP HIM IF ITS NOT THOUGHT THROUGH! PLEASE wait a little more, our time zones are different than the other Glamberts here. They will be online about 8 hours from now.

Let's ask them and then decide. Yes garnering attention to the matter will eventually shed a light on all of the mysteries but will it be good for Adam and his pride?!

Please wait only until tomorrow and see what Glamberts here say and then decide.

PLEASE! I'M ASKING YOU AS A FELLOW GLAMBERT. PLEASE...

@ JAX

I'm not putting it on you, im just sayin you were right back then. AND WE HAVE WAITED ENOUGH, it is now the time to act and not talk!

I THINK IF ALL OF THE GLAMBERTS SIMPLY IN A VERY SHORT TWEET ASK HIM: "ADAM, WHY AREN'T THE RADIOS PLAYIN YOUR SINGLE?!!" NOT ONLY GETS EVERYONE TALKING BUT ALSO GARNERS ATTENTION TOWARDS ADAM!

WHAT?!! YOU SAY THEY ARE HOMOPHOBES?!!! SO WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU SAY ANTYHING?!!! WHY ARE YOU SILENT?!! WHAT IS THIS SOME KIND OF "DON'T ASK DON'T TELL" POLICY?!!!!!! IM EVEN STARTING TO THINK YOU GUYS HERE ARE MAYBE A BUNCH OF HATERS WHO ARE VERY STRATIGICALLY TRYING TO HIDE THIS FIRE UNDER THE ASHES!!!

DO NOT GIVE ME THAT "I WANT ADAM'S MUSIC NOT HIS FAME" CRAAAPPPP!!! IF ADAM DOES NOT SELL WELL AND HAVE NO MONEY, NO OTHER ALBUMS WILL BE MADE, THER WILL BE NO MONEY TO GET VENUES FOR HIM TO PLAY, NO LABEL WNATS TO SIGN HIM UP, NO ONE WANTS TO WORK WITH HIM!

DONT YOU REMEMBER WHEN FYE WAS MADE, HATERS SAID HE WILL BE A "ONE HIT WONDER" WITH WWFM?!!! DO YOU WANT THAT TO HAPPEN? DO YOU WNAT HIM TO SINK LIKE CHRISTINA GUILERA AS SHE DID WITH HER LAST ALBUM?!!

WELL I DON'T AND I WILL TAKE SOME ACTION.

JAX, FOR THE SAKE OF BEING A GLAMBERT I WILL WAIT ONLY UNRIL TOMORROW TO HEAR WHAT YOUR FRIENDS HAVE TO SAY HERE. NO MATTER WHAT THE RESULT THOUGH, I WILL GO ON AND ENCOURAGE THE OTHER GLAMBERTS TO TWEET ADAM AND LET HIM KNOW THAT WE KNOW AND WE SUPPORT HIM AND WE WANT HIM! I WILL JUST WAIT FOR YOU, BUT I WILL EVENTUALLY DO IT.

Rita said...

DO YOU REMEMBER AMAS?!! THEY SIAD "BAD PUBLICITY IS GOOD PUBLICITY"! IF THIS IS BAD TOO, IT WILL EVENTUALLY GET THE PEOPLE TALKING ADBOUT ADAM OOOORRRR THAT CRAPPY UNRESPONISVE LABEL WILL EVENTUALLLY HAVE THE DECENCY TO ANSWER OUR QUESTION AND NOT TREATING US LIKE A BUNCH OF SHEEP!

WE WILL NOT BOMBARD ADAM, WE WILL JUST ASK HIM WHAT'S HAPPENING?!! WE WANT YOU AND WE WANT TO HEAR YOU BUT THE RADIOS SAY "HE IS NOT THE KIND OF MUSIC WE PLAY" . DOESN'T THAT SEEM CHEEEEESSSYYYY TO YOUUUUUU!!!!! OOOOHHH MYYY GOOOOD!!!!! IM EXPLODING HERE, YOU ARE ALL SITTING AND SAYING THIS AND THAT BUT DOING N.O.T.H.I.N.G !!! :OOOO

AFTER THIS WAIT JAX I AM GOING TO DO THIS, YOU GUYS BETTER DO TOO!

"I.F" YOU LOVE ADAM REALLY...

Ok Rita, I hear what you're saying. Just calm yourself down. I know these are all out of love. Adam has been an important part of all of our lives and we've been all through a great deal, supporting him and promoting him. So I completely understand where you are coming from.

I think with all that you've said, the guys here will eventually agree with you BUT just wait a little while until they say what they think and we will all think of something good.

It's ok if you're going to do what you want, but I advise you to completely think it through and see if it's 100% good for Adam.

For me, I think if we do this in a very wise manner and with a short msg each it will pay off. But if it blows out of proportion it may be hard to predict what the outcome will be.

Thank you so much for doing this for me, I know this wait will be worth it.

Just calm yourself and relax until then, so we can think something through all together. I LOVE HOW MUCH YOU LOVE AND CARE ABOUT ADAM AND FORTUNE REWARDS THE BRAVE MY FRIEND, BUT BRAVERY IS ALSO A RESULT OF PATIENCE.

Don't worry, be happy... send positive vibes to Adam. :*

C U here in a few hours, ok Rita?!

Rita said...

ok, luv u 2. BUT IM STILL ANGRY. :|
THIS SENDIN POSITIVE VIBE AND NOT BEIN NEGATIVE IF REALLY GOOD, BUT NOT WHILE SITTING ASIDE AND SEE EVERYTHING IS CRUMBLIN DOWN AND WE JUST SEND POSITIVE VIBE.

SOMETIMES ACTION FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN, IS THE MOST POSITIVE THING.

Thank you for answering me, I will see you here then. :*

Whoa, I think Miss Rita is over reacting a bit..I am hearing BTIKM and WWFM every day on the radio..he, with Queen, has sold out two shows very quickly..I wish that he was achieving the major success that JB and Gaga are..cause he is so far superior to them in every way..and that is why he will rise to the top eventually..people in the industry realize how talented he is..and he has a rabid and devoted fan base..I love the new album..I just think he should be getting more exposure..he is very well loved in other countries..don't worry Rita, our boy will be fine...

Anonymous said...

btw..I seriously doubt that Adam has ANY control over radio play of his music..he has a good label, has the same management as Katy Perry..he gives it his all...he just wants us to continue to support him..I really don't think any bombardment to Twitter will acomplish anything..other than to annoy Adam..

Ok hang on here...

@Rita & Jax and all... I don't think a twitter blast would be a bad idea at ALL.... as a matter of fact I think it would be a good idea... but NOT at ADAM.... Not at Adam at all... in fact DON'T!!!

RE-DIRECT your aim... AT RCA & MANAGEMENT... THEY are the ones who need to know how the public feels... !!! Not at Adam so that he just gets upset and feels pressured... The public needs to contact RCA DIRECTLY... I've been saying this for years. Rca, radio stations, Ryan Seacrest who seems to have a hand in every level of radio & tv....

YES BLAST the ^#*k Away!!!!! But in the right direction...

Adam's eyes look so beautiful with the glitter make-up. RITA ,IT WILL BE OK. The music is great! Yesterday I was out in my yard and my 10th grade neighbor was on school vacation .We talked and she and her friends are also going to see Adam at Six Flags. sooo excited. !!! We bonded. :-)

Anonymous said...

Yes, if people want to take action re Adam's music not being played on radio, email or tweet RCA or Adam's management team. Tweeting Adam will only upset him and/or put undue pressure on him imho, and he already has enough to deal with.

I am ADDICTED to SHADY and Pop That Lock. No help needed.....I know I'm off subject for this post, but this CD TRESPASSING is SUPER SEXY!!!!!. SHOUT THAT RITA MY DEAR .....

I agree completely that WE, ALL GLAMBERTS, SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO HAVE OUR VOICES HEARD! But please do NOT put any pressure on Adam! Instead we should address this issue, in great strength and numbers, to RCA and the radio stations!!!

Rita...........JAK here

You need to take a couple or a handful of Valium. What possible good would it do to attack Adam on twitter? You want to call attention to lack of enthusiasm for his new music. That's a sure way to sink him. Are you sure you are a fan or just a fanatic? Crazy idea. Do you give any thought to how much such an action would hurt Adam? Obviously not. His new album is not out yet, his appearances on TV to promote are just beginning. He has the summer ahead of him and I am sure he is excited about the appearances he will be making both here and abroad. Don't torpedo his chance to let the public hear his new music. As fans and supporters of his we need to be encouraging not accusing or overwrought. You can't force radio stations to play his music and if you try they will dig in their heels and be obstinate. Praise the stations that do play him. Adam is making headway in his career, he is known internationally. We can't MAKE people like him if they don't, we who do appreciate him can just continue to be supportive and let him know he has a large following who appreciate his efforts and think he has a great talent that will prevail. No one is going to crown him King of the Music World and I think that's okay with him. He just wants to make music and we just want to hear it. Be happy for what is, don't be angry at what isn't. Calm down and get ready to have an album you can enjoy in your home and know that you are part of something big....a worldwide brotherhood (sisterhood) who recognize that in our lifetime a special young man with a glorious voice came along to share his music with us. That's a good thing and I'm grateful for still being around to be treated to another in a long lifeline of greats.....Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Elvis Presley, Freddy Mercury and Adam Lambert.

Tweeting him to ask why radio isn't playing his songs would be rude, rude, rude and would only hurt him and his career.....if you love him DON'T DO IT! We have lived down the Crazy Glamberts stigma, don't start it up again!

Anonymous said...

Adam's promotion is just starting. NCOE has not been up for adds as far as I know. We have Jimmy Kimmel next week and then AI a couple weeks after that. I really don't see what all the panic is about. When Ncoe goes to adds I hope everything just blows up for Adam. I want him to go on AI and nail that song so bad. I want it to be a massive production and just blow peoples minds. It needs to be a lot better than Aftermath. And then Queen after that. Then everyone will be talking about him again and he will be everywhere!!! Patience fellow Glamberts patience.

The best things we can do is buy singles and buy CDs. Sales will drive the music to be played on the radio. We, as fans, need to show our support by purchasing the music. Get it to the top of the charts and radio play will follow. We need to put our frustration in the appropriate place, and that's though the purchase of his music.

Anonymous said...

@7:21 Totally agree.

HK fan said...

Rita,
what you are suggesting is probably the worst idea ever. Listen to JAK, what she said makes perfect sense.
BTIKM reached number 17 on the HAC chart, in fact I think it is still around that number, it isn't racing up the itunes chart, but is holding steady at around the 600 mark, and that is with only 2 tv promotions a long time ago,
NCOE hasn't even be sent for radio adds yet. God talk about people being impatient.
He has Kimmel next week, and rumour has it that he'll be on Idol top5 week, he has 6 radio concerts coming up in May, which will expose him to a new audience.
Yes its disheartening when people we think are less talented are getting all the radio play, but Adm is doing OK. He's making a comfortable living doing what he loves, he has a partner, family and friends that he adores, and that adore him back, he has us his fans, who while maybe not the largest fanbase are the most loyal and passionate....

Anonymous said...

I think Adam taking 2 years to get his CD out may have hurt his momentum a little bit. Some fair weather fans may have moved on. It will take some solid promotion to get his name back out there, not for us diehard fans though. :) And that is happening. The music that is on the CD is of such quality that the music will make things happen. He is making himself very visible, lots of radio promos, upcoming concerts and Idol performance, and the Queen gig in London. Remember the turtle and the hare? The turtle ultimately won. Let's just enjoy the music and support him through positive promotion and buying his music. The rest will follow, but maybe not on OUR desired timeline.

Anonymous said...

Adam has said that there is a lot of politics involved in getting a song played on the radio. I think a fanbase screaming for fair play (no pun intended) may not help that political process. I am no expert in the field, but I don't think it is a good idea to barrage twitter, RCA or radio stations with demands, let alone Adam. I don't think it will help and I think it will just reinforce the idea that Adam's fans are a little nuts. I know we are...in a loving enthusiastic way...but not everyone understands or appreciates our love, passion and support for all things Adam. :)

@Rita I think you're out of your mind and need serious medical help or mental institution. How old are you? If you're under 16 you aren't hopeless. And this is your parents fault. Because they are such an idiots and raised such a shmuck like you.
I hope you'll read my comment
@JAK Darling, Valiume is for nice people who need to relax from everyday stress and depression and have some fun.

Anonymous said...

JAK, Thank you for your voice of reason! I was getting REALLY nervous about Rita's rant. I know she's a huge fan and wants big success for Adam, as we all do, but her strategy would be disastrous. Adam knows where he is in the music industry. He gets it. I keep reminding myself that he has some things going for him that will pay off as he continues on his career:

He attracts top level producers and writers for his songs. The promotion/radio play issue is indeed a puzzlement, but all we can do it buy and request, not become obnoxious.

He has a large, supportive international fanbase and a darn good-sized U.S. fanbase, despite what people think.

He has strong recognition from top music industry publications who repeatedly mention his talents.

He has potential to branch out into other areas of media.

He is often included in a circle of celebrity elite. Many top celebrities know him and like him.

Please don't jump all over me for being "pie in the sky." I just believe that we sometimes forget what his assets are. Other artists ebb and flow, too. It's a continuum. I love him so much as a singer and as a person. We all do.

Please, do not do anything rash or crazy and embarrass the fandom and Adam.

Twitting Adam and haranguing him about lack of radio play is one of the worst ideas I ever heard. It is also just plain mean. I am sure he is under enough pressure about radio play and this from his fans would add a lot to that pressure. Talk about impatient! My goodness NCOE has not even been sent to radio yet. Get a grip!

@Rita I think that you are much worst than any of these troll who visit this blog. Unfortunately, we can't ignore your comments. You are very dangerious person. I wanted to call 911 after I read your comment. However, I don't know where do you live. Lucky you!

Anonymous said...

I get that @JAX and @Rita are Adam's international fans and aren't aware of how music industry works in US. Adam has his record label, his management, and his family members to advise him what he should or shouldn't do. Adam himself has many years of experience in this industry. What you see is only tip of the iceberg. The whole business and politic of entertainment industry is something we have no idea unless we've been in it for quite some time.

All we can do is to request and contact our local radio stations to play his music. As masses that's what we should do. One example was his BTIKM mv that we all got involved and we voted. This video charted for four weeks on VH1 which is a really good thing. Adam's album hasn't been out yet. Just look at the glass 1/2 full instead of 1/2 empty. Well I look at it 3/4 full instead of 1/4 empty.

This is to the last few comments. This Rita person is NOT the only person on this site to make crazy posts. I'm more of a casual fan of Adam's, so to say I don't get the obsession would be an understatement. But for some of you to call her crazy is like that old saying about the pot calling the kettle black. One person a few weeks ago at this site even said she loved Adam as much as her own sons. My jaw dropped when I read that. And if I recall, NO ONE said anything about that post. I only hope her children never know that.
I just think everyone needs to relax. That song was released just a few days ago.

@Rita
Oh my goodness!!! I'm not going to beat around the bush here: What you are suggesting, tweeting Adam to ask him "why his music is not being played on the radio", is not going to help Adam one little bit. I understand your frustration but your suggestion to ask ADAM that question would be hurtful to him and quite frankly would be like rubbing salt in a wound. And would not have the desired result. Trust me, you are not the first person to ask that question, here, on twitter, in other blogs, etc.. It is a very big and universal question. Adam himself has answered the question more than once. Regarding tweeting Adam, as an example, how would you feel if you were a singer/musician and someone asked you that question? Instead of showing Adam support, like I'm sure you would like to do, those kinds of questions, when directed to Adam himself, would be more like questions from a non-fan, or even a "hater" and could have the result of getting you blocked and called a troll by the rest of the fandom and perhaps Adam himself. I realize that would not be your intent but in the state you are in currently that's exactly how you might come across. Anger has its place, but mis-directed anger can have the opposite result, and even make things worse. Adam is always polite and respectful and patient in his comments and dealings with everyone he meets, everywhere he goes. I think we need to be the same..

We Adam Lambert fans are a loyal and intense group of people and Adam has said time and time again that he appreciates us and is grateful for our support for him and his music. We would all love to see and hear Adam on the radio everywhere. And I have NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT WE WILL ONCE THIS ALBUM IS RELEASED. I was disappointed that BTIKM didn't do better, but at the same time, I have a really good feeling that "Never Close Our Eyes" is going to do well. Start by respectfully requesting it on your local stations. Radio DOES have its politics, its protocol, its way of doing things. Give it some time for heaven's sake, before you start yelling at everyone, including Adam, and reaffirm in the minds of radio people that Adam Lambert fans are nut-jobs (we've been called that a time or two..), and they decide NOT to play it.. I fully expect to hear NCOE being played everywhere in the coming months, and that's the song we need to focus on IMO.. I also expect to see another track released as a single this summer...Something kinda wild and crazy, like "Shady"... (I LOVE that song!!!)

Adam has been working his gorgeous ass off, traveling the country and internationally, promoting his new album, meeting his loyal fans, and speaking with the radio people first-hand and asking them to give him feedback on what his next single should be. The apparent result is "Never Close Our Eyes". I expect we're going to hear it on the radio soon. He is continuing to promote his new music with appearances coming up, new ones are being added all the time. Not only that, Adam's new album is SOOOOO fricking good, and once its released, is sure to get him major kudos and rave reviews...The music will speak for itself. I personally prefer to focus on the positives, the GOOD things that are happening in Adam's career right now..and those things are pretty damn amazing. New album, his upcoming appearances with QUEEN which are going to be UNBELIEVABLE and a dream come true for Adam, and which will no doubt get him a lot of positive notice, he will undoubtedly be making more TV appearances..He'll be appearing in front of millions of people on IDOL in a couple of weeks..He's going to be fine...

Deep Breath...... : )))))

Wasn't it on his recent twitter party someone asked Adam about why radios don't play his song and he said I don't know ask radios. It's stupid to put pressure on Adam with non-sense tweets and his album isn't out yet. Ask your local radio stations to play his music so they are aware of his popularity.

SERIOUSLY GUYS! WHEN ALL OF YOU WERE ASLEEP I WAS COMMENTING LIKE CRAZY TO STOP RITA AND YOU ALL SAY I'M ENCOURAGING HER AND DOING THE SAME THING SHE DOES?!!!
DO YOU EVEN READ THE COMMENTS?!! ESPECIALLY THE 10 FIRST ONES ON THIS THREAD?!!!!

I guess I was way better not commenting on this blog. Some of you (most of you) are really sweet and kind people. But others just observe ONE COMMENT, BY ONE PERSON and try to judge the whole thread by that one.

Listen everyone:
-My previous "survey" as some of you had called it, was just a question from you "fellow Glamberts". guess I'm not welcomed in your circle. It's done and I completely and politely did all that u guys asked. Sorry if I dared to question about our mutual interest! Democracy...

-I do not support Rita's decision AND FOR GOODNESS'S SAKE I EVEN "BEGGED" HER TO WAIT FOR YOUR DECISION! AND YOU GO OFF AND SAY "THESE TWO INTERNATIONAL FANS ARE BLAH BLAH BLAH..."!!!

-Adam is not a God. He's my favorite person in the music industry and personally he's my idol "AS A GUY WHOM I'M ALMOST THE SAME AGE WITH" who dares to follow his dreams, no matter what anyone thinks. Buy he is not a GOD. He is a human and I am allowed to be concerned about him.

I HAVE NEVER DONE OR SAID ANYTHING BEFORE CLEARING IT WITH YOU GUYS, COS I RESPECT YOU AS GLAMBERTS WHO FOLLOW THE SAME INTEREST AS I DO. I REALLY TRIED TO NOT ANSWER THE IRRATIONAL COMMENTS ABOUT MYSELF BUT THIS IS REALLY GETTING DISGUSTING.

You clearly don't want me here and I'm out. I will only occasionally share if something important has happened and needs your attention.

Bye.

@JAX
Thank you for your kind words..I would perhaps ask you to reconsider your decision to leave this blog...ALL of us have had negativity directed toward us at one time or another and I know how it feels. And we've all felt the need to take a break, to lick our wounds, and re-group, but the need to support and promote Adam always takes over in the long run for me, because he is truly an amazing talent and so worthy of our admiration. And I just MUST flail with others who feel the same way. Always. As I said in my comment to Rita, we fans of Adam are a passionate lot and we all really have nothing but his success and happiness as the basis for everything we say. And we are always searching for a way to help him achieve that. Although he is his own best PR man and all things considered, is doing pretty darn great. Sometimes those comments can be misunderstood, twisted, attacked...and that can be painful. As a passionate fan of Adam yourself, you know that to be true..And I think it helps us to understand how Adam probably feels sometimes as well. I really appreciate your input and your perspective as a non-US fan. And as a male fan! YAY!!! So don't be a stranger..and just say what's in your heart. I've found that although I may not always agree with everything that is said here, and once in awhile strongly disagree with someone, I still try to keep an open mind about others opinions, because another point of view can be enlightening and refreshing.. I am so immensely thrilled that Adam has a world-wide fanbase...It gives me hope for the world, that we can all come here as fans..and that there are so many out there who love Adam for the great talent that he is AND for the beautiful human being he is as well.

Jax, I really hope you don't leave this fansite. We need you. I know we get nuts, but we always settle down. It usually happens at times like this when we aren't seeing Adam performing or doing interviews or being out in public.

We need a MALE voice here! It gives us perspective and gives me hope that Adam has male fans who are not afraid to declare their respect for his talents. So, please consider sticking around. This is just a rocky patch.

I am grateful to you for trying, with all your heart, to calm @Rita down begging her to delay the twitter rant she suggested until the rest of the regular posters could voice an opinion about it too, and then come to a joint decision as to whether this was a good or bad idea. I think some fans that are so much involved, when they don't see results they get upset. I suggest to these involved fans to take a break and check-in once in awhile to read news. Find yourself some other activities.

Album isn't out yet and Adam said numerous times that once his album is out he'll do promotional trips and TV appearances for his album. Hang in there guys. If you want to be supportive please request your local radio stations to spin Adam's two singles, BTIKM or NCOE. Even though radios have their own politic about what to play, if we show them our consistent wise support of Adam to our local radio stations they'll feel popularity of Adam as an established artist. Eventually, they end up playing his songs. Don't get frustrated. Be supportive. Here is the link for radio requests:

The reason @JAX is getting 'answered and spoken to' is because he signed with a tag, Its a lot easier to 'get to know someone' and interact with them when you know their name (even if its not real). Maybe after 2 years its time for you to get a tag and join in the party.

@Anon 1:59 PM
I agree with @HK Fan: It would be great if you would attach a name of some sort to your posts so that others know who you are and who they are responding to. Just make something up (I rarely use my real name anywhere, but do elsewhere on occasion...not here!) ..and sign it at the end or beginning, or click on the "Name/URL" circle below the comment box under "Chose an identity"... It makes it SOO much easier to follow a conversation. I'm personally not a big fan of anonymous posts... although I understand that some are not comfortable leaving a name.. Pretty much every other blog out there requires a sign in and a "name" of some sort. The admins have been generous in keeping that option, but if possible, PLEASE tell us "who" you are! I'd love to "meet" you and know who you are in future comments.. That goes for others as well.

I suppose you are referring to me as well as other "regulars" when you say they/we only accept a few others into the conversation. Not fair really, and not true, in my opinion, but if you feel that way, its the reality for you, and I'm sorry you feel that way. Everyone has a right to express whatever they wish to express. But everyone also has the right to differ and discuss, hopefully with respect. That is the the thing that can be a problem here sometimes: lack of respect..and tempers flare and people get pissed off. I hope you can feel free to express yourself without feeling like your opinion is ignored. Those that come on here and pronounce everyone "crazy" and "obsessed" and "nuts" and entitled, etc.., will probably be met with some negativity, obviously ...Tell me to "get a life" for instance and I sure as hell won't respond in a positive sort of way...and likely won't respond at all. I do have a full and busy life outside of the fandom: I work, I have a family, and friends, I travel, and sometimes no time to come here, but when I do have the time, I love to come here and be just a little "obsessive" and flail about Adam because in reality, most of us ARE just a tad bit that way about Adam..and proud of it! Not denying it : )) ..but my MAIN "obsession" if you want to call it that, is to support Adam in his career and help him to achieve his goals..and I just think he is such a fabulous human being as well: not perfect, but very real and likable...and so talented. So adopt a "name" and as @HK Fan said, join the conversation for real : ))

@ Jax, Thankyou for your kind words! Please remain a part of this passionate and sometimes over zealous site and disregard any negative comment that may have misinterpreted your well meaning intent. I hope no one will leave this site because all of our input is important even when we disagree. Rita when I first read your comment I became alarmed because you were obviously very upset and it's usually a bad idea to take any action while under stress. My father used to tell me to always wait at least 30 seconds before opening my mouth so I wouldn't have later regrets. This lively discussion is why it's so important for ALL of us to be here. JAK and Glitzy mirrored my thoughts as well as JAX calming the waters. We all have our moments when we get riled or disappointed, but as JAX said, "being patient and waiting to discuss the situation" was good advice indeed and it in the end had a positive result. I got my panties in a twist when Adam shaved off the hair on the side of his head and I vented and mourned the loss here, much better than inflicting my disappointment at Adam whose head it belonged to and in reality wasn't my business. Some fans here disagreed and their opinion is just as valid as mine. I notice that emotions run high when there has been a long dry spell or we're anxious for Adam to get the respect and fame that he so richly deserves. Thanks Rita for posting again and I don't want to see anyone here disrespected for voicing concern or having a different opinion. We do have a troll that will push buttons and it's not an opinion, it usually is just bashing Sauli or Adam and is very obvious and they or the one person does answer their post as someone else. That's an isolated poster and not the majority here that are kind and thoughtful. I hope no one ever leaves because of one negative comment. Adam does need ALL of our support and brain storming is fine as long as we remember that it's Adam's career and life that he shares with us. He doesn't need us to get confrontational with each other, radio stations or especially Sony that is his employer. It has taken Adam 3 years to lay his foundation and charm the radio stations. They declined to play his music for a number of reasons. Many publicly stated that they didn't want anything to do with Adam's "bat shit crazy Glamberts" that were unruly and rude. We've finally lived down that negativity and now they seem impressed with our support and loyalty instead of being combative. I find that thanking media and radio stations for supporting Adam gets more positive results. No one wants to be told what to do. Sugar is better than vinegar. With all of the appearances coming up and the album to soon be released, I think we should be patient and buy his album and respectfully request radio play. Adam is excited and happy. If you have questions for Sony, asking politely and reasonably will get you further. Adam has worked his butt off and deserves to enjoy these moments that must be exhilerating and fulfilling. Lets all remember why we're here and be glad that we have each other. We really are a goof bunch! Peace, Y'all! :)

I wish more would use a tag because it does allow us to get to know one another and it's easier to reply to your posts. I do read all of the comments and there are so many good ones from those that don't have a tag and I should have responded more to so many good ones. I'll try to do better! :)

There must be another reason, unknown to us, as to why he is seemingly being dissed - but, I do have faith that things will change - you can't keep a talent such as his at bey

Wow, what a crazy thread! Rita & Jax, I have no idea what country you live in, but understanding radio/TV ownership in the USA (and how it's now owned by very FEW people who own/run major corporations--thanks to the FCC over past 12 years)is a better place to start to understand why Adam gets or does not get radio play. (Other creative music, even rock music is not getting air time, either.)PLEASE DON'T BLAME ADAM and complain to him directly. He's a very bright, educated man when it comes to music & the music industry & is well aware of its current climate. If anything, complain to the FCC for allowing mega-corporations to severly limit the diversity of material we now get over our radio & TV airways.

What's very scary is that these owners can use OUR public air ways for their OWN agendas by airing what THEY want us to hear or see & NOT airing what they DON'T want us to hear or see. It's become extremely political in a very broad way.

Largest radio owner in the USA is Clear Channel with 800+ stations. This is the Ryan Seacrest channel. It's owned by Bain Capital, Mitt Romney's company. GOP currently have it out for gay & female people. Sorry, but true. I have yet to hear the Clear Channel out of Lexington, KY play Adam's BTIKM on the air. And, I hope this is not true, but I suspect (because stations often ask for your age) if songs are requested by females past a certain age, such requests are blown off if their age does not fit their marketed demographic. By contrast, the STAR channel we get in Frankfort, KY plays Adam's song a lot! YAY!! :)

Ryan Seacrest has cut a huge business deal with Clear Channel ownership (LA Times) & does not appear to be one to rock any boat. He's a huge fan of Dick Clark. Dick Clark started (& owned ?) the AMA show & was the one who banned Adam from his New Year's Eve Show. Both of these men are very savy businessmen, but both are very bland--perhaps by design. Businessmen are motivated by money--not by sticking their necks out for something new/different or even exciting. (might explain the boring, but formulaic cr...p not worth listening to on the air these days) While Dick Clark may have been color blind, I'm not so sure he wasn't homophobic. Have never been a fan of Clark. He was too milktoast to me when I was a child!

Adam's album, Trespassing, is spectacular. I think if we're patient, Adam & his album will NOT be denied. I believe this year could be for Adam (w the Grammys) what 2011 was for Adele.

A couple other info bits: the music industry at large is losing money; Clear Channel has also been losing money.

Some sad info bits: A new law passed in St.Petersburg, Russia, this past spring has made it illegal to even talk about gayness/gay issues, let alone engage in gay behavior.

What's worse?! Almost identical bills recently introduced by GOP in 2 states, Tennessee and Missouri, would make it illegal to discuss gay issues with people under age 18!

Madonna is planning to be very outspoken when she performs in Russia. Is she willing to be jailed or fined?

Consider how these laws would have affected Adam's fabulous Glam Nation Tour (which was perfect) or any future tours if he's not allowed to be himself.

PS @8:40 & 9:09 I find remarks re: people who need to "take your meds", touting benefits of Xanax, or assessing folks as mentally ill because you don't like their comments very offensive.

Others from Kentucky include George Clooney, his aunt Rosemary Clooney, Ashley Judd, Broadway (& now Smash) star Will Chase, and Johnny Depp. The latter two both lived in Frankfort! Thanks for coming here and reminding some who are not aware of the realities of radio in the US, that Top 40 radio is if nothing else, complicated. And that, as you said, Adam is fully aware of what's going on, is a smart man who is giving us an amazing new album in a few (long...) weeks, and does not need people giving him s**t because we didn't hear his last single played as much as we would want..or as much as he would want...

I just know that one of the DJ's at my local Top 40 station told a friend (when Adam was here for promo) that they didn't play BTIKM because it "didn't fit their format"..which in reality tends to be very dance-y, upbeat music aimed toward a "younger" market. I don't think the station itself has any issues with Adam per se, as we are a liberal area (Seattle, WA) and gay is not an issue at that station or in the city. But with the parent company..hmm. I will be keeping a close eye on "Never Close Our Eyes" in the next few weeks to see what they do with that song. It should definitely "fit the format" and if they don't play it I will suspect more than "format" issues. Another friend was told by a DJ in another NW city (also very liberal) that BTIKM was not played on their station due to radio "politics" and he was very frustrated because he wanted to play it but could not. BUT I actually do expect that they WILL play NCOE...and the non-KISS type stations, for sure. WWFM did well, and I have no doubt NCOE will as well.

You mention age demographics as a possible (negative) factor in the requesting process. I have suspected that might be a consideration on certain stations and (shhhh!) already subtract a few years on the form that asks for age when requesting Adam's music on the local KISS (Clearchannel) station..

I do have to say too that I think TRESPASSING the album is going to be Adam's true "breakout" album and I honestly think we will see him up there at the Grammy Awards next year. I loved FYE and still do. I am absolutely bouncing off the walls with the music on TRESPASSING because every song is single-worthy in my opinion and I suspect the Grammy nominators will feel the same way, once the album is out there. I'll be buying more than a few and gifting them to friends and family because Adam's music deserves to be heard by everyone. I also hope RCA/Sony plans to market the heck out of it once it comes out..and I think they will..Its a masterpiece.

Anonymous said...

@Glitzylady,

What's a bit crazy is there are large gay populations in Lexington, Louisville, & Northern Kentucky--so stations there may be missing out on a lucrative demographic by ignoring it from a national perspective. I checked with a couple young guys from Lexington. They don't listen to Clear Channel; they get their music from Pandora. (Several musicians I've had on my case load do, too.)

Remember when Adam was asked to be on that cutting edge panel at the Grammys re: role of the internet as the new frontier (and possible savior?) for the music industry? Pandora creator was on that panel :). Let's not forget that Adam's 110+ Glam Nation Tour sold out! It required absolutely no advertising. Was sold out because of word of mouth over internet and by being able to see & fall in love with it via YouTube vids. Louisville show tickets were sold out BEFORE they officially went on sale. I've never seen anything like it. It was a science to figure out how to even get GNT tickets. You had to get internet savy or you just got left out. I'm already stressed over what it will take to get tickets for his Trespassing Tour!

Adam's riding the wave of the future. He's on it ;) I think Queen & Kimmel are probably surprised at how quickly he sells tickets & how far people will travel to see him. We're not.

Wow Kentucky Fan. I'll be honest and say that I usually blow off most of your posts because they seem a bit obsessive and rude, but if what you're saying about the radio is true, that's down right scary. And it makes sense...from what I'm hearing on the radio. And what's even scarier is that I did not know this. That means a lot of other people don't know it either. Your post has inspired me to do more research into things...especially before I vote. Thank you.

glitzylady said...

@Kentucky Fan
Yes, quite honestly I don't get too caught up in the Top 40 radio play issue..because I find Top 40 to be relatively limited in its scope of music coverage. That's not to say I don't LIKE the music they play, because I do like a lot of it..not all, but much of it. some of it is actually pretty good. Its also interesting because radio has become so specialized..so many stations, each focusing on a particular genre and sub-genre of music.. I'm dating myself here, but as a kid and teen, there were far fewer stations to listen to and maybe one or two per "market" had all encompassing "rock" stations which covered pretty much every type of popular music that teens liked. All mixed together..Rock, folk, some country, blues, funk, alternative, new age, a little "rat pack", etc....all on one all-encompassing station. We were exposed to many types of music and could listen to and appreciate them all. The Stones, The Beatles, Elvis (his later years for me..), Madonna, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, ..whatever sounded good was all there in one place. Now, you generally have to go beyond the KISS Top 40 stations to listen to other genres. Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Country Rock, Country, Metal Rock, Easy Listening, Hot American Contemporary, Alternative, ...And there is so much good music out there that if one only listens to Top 40, you'll never hear. Country has taken over a lot of Rock music (I love some of the more crossover country bands like Sugarland..which is basically rock) but I am not officially a country fan so don't listen to country stations... I also am not a fan of rap..beyond that, if its good, I like it and I'll listen to it. But at the same time, it seems Top 40 gets the biggest piece of the "points" pie when it comes to clout or public kudos for those who do well on its "format"..and the most publicity for the artists who are played on the Top 40 stations. I've been buying the Official Grammy Nominated Songs CD for the past few years because I've realized that I've discovered a lot of good music as a result that I would not have otherwise if I relied only on what's being played on Top 40 KISS radio. And quite frankly I don't spend much time on there anyway. As you said, so many internet options now. And I make my own playlist CD's based on what I have in my iTunes library, which at last count had over 1200 songs in it (with a large collection of Adam of course). The bottom line, I feel, is this: Adam is a rare and wonderful talent who will ultimately be hugely successful in spite of whatever speedbumps have been put in his way.

No kidding!! I became a ticket-buying expert after the first couple of naive novice learning-experience semi-disasters trying to get tickets for Adam's concerts, both GNT and non. I wasn't involved in the Queen ticket buying experience (wish I had been..) but I know that was another crazy mob scene..And as you say, I shudder to think what it will be like for the TRESPASSING tour..Scary! But I can hardly wait!!

Anonymous said...

FYI: Jimmy Kimmel Live Tickets are all SOLD OUT again. Original sell out prompted the show to add more tickets and these tickets are sold out as well. Two London shows of Queen+Adam are sold out and they are thinking about more shows. Adam is a great live performer and people want to see him live. Honestly, I saw Adam live many times and truly the youtube videos and let me even go further the blu-ray GNT DVD doesn't do him justice. PEOPLE HAVE TO SEE HIM LIVE ON STAGE!

@Anon 12:54 PM
I know that is SOOOO true! Live Adam is the best thing ever! 2010 was a glorious year because I saw a total of 8 live Adam Lambert concerts that year. Every 2 or 3 months, another one or 2 to look forward to..Since Dec. 2010, its been a wasteland for me, and I've missed seeing him so much. There is nothing like it..Videos are good, but live is amazing and one big adrenalin rush from start to finish. The only complaint I have is that they go by way too fast and I just want more right away again. Pretty sure I could go to one of his concerts/appearances about once a month for the rest of my life and still never get enough. Seriously. The Bing Lounge event I went to was like a transfusion of life-sustaining Adam Lambert voice and music: (and the famous Adam Lambert HUG was definitely a bonus that will keep me going for awhile...) In the words of Adam Lambert (from SHADY): I think this applies: ; ))

No I ain’t broken but i

I’m up all niiiight

@glitzylady but I must say, for those who weren't able to attend anyone of the GNT shows, they must buy GNT Live in Blu-Ray. If you want to listen to GNT Live on the go then also buy GNT Live DVD/CD. The CD is amazing.

I don't think of the GOP as a conservative party, I think of it as a repressive party. As a woman it scares me more and more and as a supporter of human (gay) rights it's an unending uphill battle.

I appreciate @Kentucky Fan's information that was offered to help educate us about the known realities of the music industry, particularly Clear Channel as it relates to Top 40 radio and perhaps to Adam. etc.. I've heard it from other sources as well. It's part of the reality of that segment of the music industry, radio, etc... I follow @KF on Twitter as well, and she is always very well informed on the latest issues facing GLBT, women, etc., who as we all know, are still sometimes denied full rights as human beings. We all need to be aware of these things, in my opinion. Liberal, independent, conservative, whatever title we give ourselves, we're all in this together, IMO. And as Adam Lambert fans, we all wish him to be given the same opportunities to be heard as others in music, without prejudice and/or discrimination. Not too much to ask.
