"Fever" is next single for New Zealand and Singapore

It was announced on Adamofficial a few weeks ago that "Fever" will be the new single in New Zealand. It has also been confirmed early today that "Fever" will be the new single for Singapore as well.

This looks like "Fever" will be the official new single, at least internationally. Still no words from the US.

Do you want "Fever" to be the next single for the US? Is it marketable? Or is it too risky?

Here is a live performance of "Fever" STRIPPED for iheartradio. Enjoy!

Not fair if the US gets Sleepwalker and the rest of the world get this. Should have been just the opposite.

Read the other day an interview with Adam and he said point blank, that U.S. radio stations would not play Fever! Dont know how recent the interview was, however. I'll be happy with SW! I just want another single and video! Adamluv

Just remembered that U.S. stations arent playing IIHY so forget my above comment except for last sentence! Good bye, Adamluv

I love fever, but I guess the risky part is that he sings it to another male, But thats just in the first line. Not sure how that could be changed."there he goes, my baby walks so slow, sexual" Adam has to be so careful, and there might be a lot of radios that wouldnt play it. He needs all the play time he can get.

I'm not worried about the first line of the song. It's the "light's on but you're mom's not home" part. I hope he's singing to a guy who's over 16.. xD

I adore Fever, and think it will do very well internationally, but let's face facts: middle American radio will not accept this song, and it won't get airplay, regardless of what we fans tell ourselves. I want Adam to be successful, and this just doesn't strike me as a smart business move. I hope he releases Sleepwalker, Soaked, or Aftermath in the US. It was hard for Adam to get airplay with For Your Entertainment. WWFM & IIHY are more radio-friendly and he's done amazingly well with these. Some DJs are just looking for a reason not to play Adam. Let's not give them one! I wish I were wrong, but I like to face reality and want Adam to do well financially and have longevity in this industry.

Anonymous said...

I hope SLEEPWALKER gets the green light in the US.

FEVER is too risky. I want Adam's career to skyrocket and FEVER is not going to help him on the radio.

Totally OT- an online petition asking Japanese promotors to let them have M&G with adam, photos and video inside the venue! Remember, we wont see Adam if the Japanese fans cant video him! Go to: http://moreadam.blog.so-net.ne.jp/ The voting box is in the upper left corner (a little hard to read but if I did it, so can you! Voting ends tomorrow! Please do it for his Japanese fans and for us as well! Adamluv

fever is ok if not sure wfire winner then. stupid dj wont play the fever song. bad mentality decision.

I love FEVER. It has such a wonderful beat, and makes me want to damce. BUT----if the DJ's have a problem with the gay thing, I am sure it will affect radio plays. I guess we won't know until it happens.

Not that anyone cares, but I like Adam's videos in the order of their release, with FYE (and TfM!) at the top of the list. WWFM has been.. well.. a winner and I love the idea of IIHY and everything, but the lightning balls there kinda killed all the fun for me, sorry.
I'm just glad that he will release another two singles/videos, no matter where in the world, and I can't wait to see them both. We'll be enjoying two of them instead of just one.
So F*** the radio politics and be happy about the results!

FYI was and is my favorite video and look how fast that was taken off radio, if it ever really was played. I wish fans would not encourage Adam to shoot himself in the foot. Fever will not help his career in this Country. We can't expect Adam to change what others have been trying to change for years. Besides Amazon will probably put Fever up for sale at some point--it will be a money maker. Just don't let it be a career breaker. I just didn't take my post name from this site, this Country is heading toward dark times.

Fever is a hit song. Did Lady Gaga get signed using the song? Love the fact it's going to be a single somewhere in the world. It's so cool.

Not sure where to put this --

http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2010/09/adam_lambert_reviewing_our_rev.php

It's comments from a Houston review by a 'homophobic' reviewer and then the paper's supposed apology. It's all crap, but the comments from fans are worth the read.

I love this stripped down Fever with the stripped down makeup...just pure Adam as we first met him. I enjoy just his voice quality without all the synthesizers, bells, and whistles. I don't think any of Adam's music has to be overproduced...even though it is. I'm not sure there WILL be another single in the U.S. Adam alluded to that in a more recent interview. If there is one, I think it will be Sleepwalker, which is a beautiful song.

I think that Adam's fan base has increased considerably since the GNT and in all of the interviews the dj's seem to genuinely like him. It may be more of the radio station/advertising pressure and politics that is the problem and more focus should be put on them. Money, unforunately is usually the bottom line. I think this tour has shown how viable Adam is and how much fans support and pay for his concerts and music. He steadily has been going forward and I still can't fathom how anyone could take issue with playing Fever when some rappers have denigrated women, supported violence against them, as well as other performers singing lyrics much more controversial. I get the above concern and previously leaned in that direction, but Adam has enlightened new fans that he's not some souless creature out to corrupt the morals of our youth! Shades of the Elvis controversy, when they called him "Elvis the Pelvis" and wouldn't film him on tv from the waist down. Nothing in this country will ever change if we continue to accept the status quo. I for one would love to see Fever released here as a single and if all of Adam's fans purchased it, our visibility validating his talent and popularity couldn't be ignored. I'm really so over the double standard that pervades this industry. We really have a lot of liberal people in this country[US for those of you out there not from US]and I don't understand how the ultra-conservative people obtained such a stranglehold on personal expression. I don't believe they represent the real majority, but are just more vocal and pro-active. Think Adam needs to record "A Change is Gonna Come" and blast it ouy into the universe at full volume!! funbunn40

Hi Guys, I am in NZ and "Fever" has been playing heaps here in the last 10 days no worries at all. I cant understand how people in the US can get so upset with the lyrics of "Fever" because have you listened to the lyrics of a lot of these other pop songs that are getting so much airplay? It is rudiculous double standards.
I have been watching the X Factor Australia and one of trhe contestants was a young gay man who came out to his parents on the show, they showed hin after he performed hugging and kissing his partner etc, iamagine Idol doing that with Adam. I do feel we are quite liberal and ahead here downunder, of course there are still the homophobes but time is changing that (and education) Thank goodness. Hope you guys over there do get anoter single they are all lovely personally I love "Soaked" Jan NZ

Anonymous said...

It's so silly to say that if you don't like Fever then you're a homophobe. Try to understand that some people just like Sleepwalker more.

Anonymous said...

I also liked FYE song and video. Thought the video was genius. Too bad.

Just got notified by Adam's fan site that additional VIP tickets on sale for Asian and European, and Australian/NewZealand performance. Mentioned last time sold out in 40 seconds. This is about 24-25 locations and 25 VIPs each.

I think Adam is smart enough to know the U.S. d.j.'s aren't going to give him the air play for Fever...we loyal fans love it and anything he does, but let's face it-they are weary of him and need to keep their jobs!! Let him release it overseas and Sleepwalker here...it will become so popular that U.S. will start begging for it. And sales will go up up up...it all takes time.
I am really bummed about the VMA'a and the snub...we know who is the best new artist-I still say Adam is being punished, again let's all keep loving and supporting Adam and hopefully the Universe will be his soon!!!

These idiot are hardly playing IIHY that hasan AMAZING message and beat. Do you REALLY think they will play FEVER?????? I LOVE The song, but let's face it, eventhugh we don't want to, We live in a Fucked p country. They will let Rihana RIDE her men ALL NIGHT LONG and for GAGA to RIDE HIS DISCO STICK!!!! I's an MIDDLE aged SEXSSED MEN that run the BIZ. They will go for ANYTHING if a woman will do as they say and GET DIRTY!!! I am SOOO glad I am NOT an AMERICAN!!! I live here Temporarily. Wish I was back home!!!

Anonymous said...

IIHY fell to #30 last week on the Eurohot 30 chart and probably will be out of the chart this week. Does Fever got the right melody then.

Anonymous said...

Kind of dissapointed by what some fans are saying in here. There is a double standard going on here and I think that maybe releasing Fever as a single would give Adam a good opportunity to address this.

Fever is one of my favorites but alas, the poohbahs on high have decided the pronoun is too risky for we, the sheeple. OK, onward. Time to remember that which is euphemistically referred to as the music business. So, how about Sure Fire Winners? Or Pick-u-Up?

i think Adam needs another single in the US .because of vh1 top , he needs visibility and everywhere , i'm speeking Europe are presented the top video of vh1 . Mtv dont promote Adam at all , dont play his videos , vh1e rarely . There are another tv station that promote him , like Utv , just well, but in theyer tops they play the video that are first place on vh1 us.

Anon3.16 I agree that was my point in my comment above, at 2.40. Jan NZ

sleepwalker and pick u up are way better than fever and not because he sings about boys...they're just better

Anonymous said...

There are double standards because of the feminists. I don't support their ideology either xD

Anonymous said...

"There he goes" is so innocuous, give me a break. I think Sleepwalker is just better than Fever. I think it is ridiculous they took "For Your Entertainment" off the radio. But, with time I think these songs will simply infiltrate our culture.

Anonymous said...

I love Fever, and I'd forgotten how great the I heart radio version was. I really just don't get all this' the US radio won't play it because of the HE word. As an 'outsider' looking in at the charts, VH1 etc, watching what have been big hits in the US Rihannas Rude Boy, anything by Eminem, that It wasn't me song, about being found banging on the floor, in the shower etc. plus the videos ,{gagas last 2 especially, eminmens, Katy Perry's teenage dream, where she's been stripped and getting down to it, her I kissed a girl song, these are all perfectly fine, but because Adam's singing to a guy its taboo!!!!! Sorry, just can't get my head round it.
But kudos to NZ and Singapore (a very religious country) who are getting it.

"Nothing in this country will ever change if we continue to accept the status quo."

Yes! to this funbunn40. I have attended four GNT concerts this summer and each time I have taken a guest not aquainted with Adam Lambert. They are now fans and their favorite song: Fever! In fact, you can feel the energy in an already highly excited crowd increase during this song. (Sleepwalker comes in second.) I hope Adam's management has the courage to release Fever as the next single.

I remember much grinding and gnashing of teeth following the the AMAs with many proclaiming Adam's career was already dead and radio would never play his music. Well, that fear is squashed. I live in VERY conservative Oklahoma and hear WYWFM and IIHY all the time on the radio.

American perceptions can change. But, only if inspirational people have the courage to challenge them. I believe Adam can change the way radio treats openly gay artists by releasing Fever as the next single. The station's request lines will probably flame out under the sheer volume of calls clamoring for this rockin' song! (No pun intended BTW.) (And I won't cry if Sleepwalker is released instead..)

Anonymous said...

Also think Pick U Up is best song on album. Just don't understand it not being in concert. Adam says it's hard to sing, but darn, most of what he sings is difficult. I think Voodoo is especially troublesome, but naturally he does it beautifully.

Anonymous said...

Been to several Adam concerts, and his voice and pitch are flawless. This is really rare with the type of music he performs.

Anonymous said...

Anon; 4;12, WTF do feminists have to do with anything we're talking about here. Try to keep some semblance of sanity, please. Adamluv

Anonymous said...

I like Fever, but he has alternated with the type of songs released as singles. First came TFM; then FYE; then WWFM; then IIHY. He's due to put out another emotional one in the U.S. However, as I said before, he has alluded to the fact in recent interviews that there won't be another U.S. single. As for radio play of Fever in the U.S. versus any of his other songs so far, I'd say the radio stations aren't playing much of any of his songs. That might be because the ones who seem to be guiding the market are fans of such ilk as Justin Bieber, Kesha, Katy Perry, Angel Taylor, etc. etc.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and as an addendum to the above, I think Pick You Up is the weakest of all the songs on the album. Voodoo should have been on the CD from the beginning.

JakeL, glad you're back as havent heard much from you lately. Adamluv

@Lolita - You're right, of course, theoretically and philosophically. But is there any more of an agenda that you'd like to pile on Adam's shoulders!!!???? He's working day and night to make it in this business, with so much stacked against him. Please remember that, first and foremost, he's a singer, an entertainer who's trying to be successful, trying to have some financial security, and trying to gain some longevity in this fickle industry. He needs radio play and sales. Fever will not get radio play in many jurisdictions.

If Fever flops, the good thing is he cannot afford to buy a new car, because Mustang is a much sexier car than any German vechile.

Personally, I will support whatever Adam and his team decide to release as the next single, if they do...They will probably do a little market research and make a decision based on that...I LOVE "Fever" but I do realize it is a bit of a risk (darn it...), sad but true....If it were up to me, it would have already been released along with "Sleepwalker", which I also LOVE because they are both wonderful songs in their own right, and we need MORE ADAM!!!! But in this "real world" they will probably make decisions based on the realities of the music industry and their target audience in America...I know this is a wishy-washy response, but I guess my answer would really have to be: Whatever is going to be best for Adam's career at this point.

Anonymous said...

Fever is a great choice - energetic, incredibly well-sung, memorable. He should go with it. No problem.

Cheril said...

Without the radio play it doesn't matter how much the fan base loves Fever. They are in control. It is sad that the consumers can't drive what they want to hear. Perhaps if he put out a video where GaGa sang the first verse that would take care of the "he", but it would still have the "mom's not home" which is suggestive...of course only for Adam. All rap artists can say any darn nasty thing and they'll play it. Prejudice is what Adam is up against. He has a steeper hill to climb in everything he does. BUT, he is moving forward because he is extremely talented and such a nice guy...right will when but it will take time. Love Adam.

Anonymous said...

I'm suprised no one has mentioned has fantastic Sleepwalker is. Hopefully Fever will do great abroad and the radios stations here will follow suit with the rest of the world. I predict if Sleepwalker is released it will out-do WWFM on the charts. I suspect in Jan. when the music award season starts the producers will be tearing each other hair out in battle to have him perform. j.s

SN: looking at this clip bums me out. LP has just 2 days left with Glamnation. Its gonna take some getting used to his new drummer...sorry but if his personality is anything how he looks , the solos will be yawn-worthy to say the least.

Anonymous said...

Just played the video and when it finished I saw that there was another video that had Adam's picture but Riahana's song "Rude Boy". Being curious, I clicked to play...Adam has some sexy moves on that video. I've never seen this video but boy is he something else. Yes, there is a double standard. Sad but it is what it is. I don't understand why FYE, single, was pulled from the radio stations. I wasn't following Adam then so I didn't know it was pulled. I'll be happy with Sleepwalker.

Lolita said...

"But is there any more of an agenda that you'd like to pile on Adam's shoulders!!!????"

Whooaa, there Anon 6:55. I'm not talking about any "agenda placing". I am talking about the industry recognizing Aam's value as an entertainer by the huge public response that, in my opinion, this kick-ass song will receive. This response may finally convince radio folk that the listening audience is far more sophisticated than they give us credit for and a singer's sexuality becomes a non-issue as a result. If the public accepts it, the industry will begin to shift. The public can't accept (or reject) it if the song isn't put out there.

BTW, have you seen Adam's shoulders? Broad and yummy and quite capable of handling controversy. His openness and honesty are part of his appeal and, I believe, his greatness. If you think Adam is worried more about money and less about art, I will refer you to the videos of the AMAs, Zodiac shows, countless pics of burning man, and Adam kissing/licking Tommy on stage every.

Adam will be around for a long time. Talent like his cannot be ignored. And THAT is what will bring about change.

Lolita said...

...kissing/licking Tommy on stage every NIGHT. (memory makes my fingers tremble...)

"lights on and your mom's not home" is NOT literal!!!!!!!!! COME ON!! THINK - you are adults!! No wonder that song is not a good choice for "some" audiences it you think it's referring to sex with minors!! EEWWWWW!! Grow UP!!

Anonymous said...

Anon 2:23, I was finally able to read that Houston link review and that was unbelievable! Talk about having an agenda. But to see 700 comments was encouraging. Yes, the apology sucked! Adamluv

Sleepwalker would be Adams' most popular radio song. It will put him on the rock stations. This will broaden his fan base. The Freddie Mercury, classic rockers of the World, will get a piece of our Adam.

Katy Perry sings she kissed a girl and she liked it and Adam sings there HE goes...augh...so homophobic...honestly it is so upsetting people think that we are over the "gay thing" we are clearly NOT and have a VERY long way to go..this should not even be a discussion. Umm...I would be singing to a HE too...There he goes my baby walks...I'm a straight female...works for me...all those male singers singing to a "her" doesn't apply to me does that mean I shouldn't listen or don't like? NO.. augh augh augh....so so frustrating...anyway I wish they would release sleepwalker and then Fever...OH and around here in Minnesota they do play IIHY and one station even plays his studio stuff from Idol....the U2 song all the time in particular. It's great! -#3372
