Who was singing? - didn't sound like Adam. Wonder why they wouldn't use his real version which is so much stronger. Glad that they chose the song tho

Help Adam to the mil mark and the Hall of Fame!

Singer couldn't come close to Adam, made me miss Adam more... but GREAT to hear his song on live tv!

Very nice upbeat dance with beautiful words. Seriously, need to adjust the ear, too much spoil by Adam's voice. Better than last time they use FYE.

I only watched a season or so years back, but the whole thing with DWTS is the LIVE band - it's always been that way...maybe someone who watches the show faithfully will comment and fill in the blanks, but I know at least that much - always live band on DWTS. IIHY was pretty good actually, last year FYE was used and that was rough, LOL

Anon 8:01 PM - That show, DWTS, NEVER uses songs by the original artists (probably because of fees they would have to pay the artists and labels...). Nevertheless, this is great exposure for Adam's music. A lot of people watching the show try to find out what song was playing during a specific dance.

It is amazing exposure Anon 8:36pm, and when I really thought about this, I realized that wow, there were only about 6 dances for rock week, only that number of songs used, in the whole vast world of good songs, and IIHY was picked, pretty cool. If I remember correctly from some show I saw somewhere, neither the pro nor the star is involved in picking their week's music, but rather they are GIVEN the music by producers, which is sort of interesting in and of itself, because some songs are clearly more "fan favorites" than others. If anybody knows better about this, please comment.

what a shock to hear IIHY. Kyle and Lacey nailed it!The house band did a pretty good job. now I feel like movin and grovin.

Anon @ 901... I did notice this connection...

*I agree It IS amazing exposure and (yay!)positive promotion by Adam's signed management company RCA-19 Entertainment, who also lists Orianthi & "DANCING WITH the STARS" on their Home page.
Orianthi's "Acording to You" was also played during this show. (I noticed Daughtry is also listed & appeared on the show a few weeks back.)
So in this case '19' is promoting their stars. YAY! (wish the hell they'd release Sleepwalker" here!)

DWTS is considered TV's # 1 show with mega viewership, so this is GREAT exposure. I mentioned on another site I would LOVE to see them put Adam on THIS show...(but his schedule is soooo busy now)
He was on "So You Think You Can Dance" at the beginning of the year and knocked 'em dead as the show's closer.

Any positive exposure works for me =)

I wonder why they didn't use Adam's recording of IIHY to dance? I like it much better. However, still glad to hear it being used. :)

I watched DWTS too! Thanks, Glamily for the heads up or I might have missed hearing IIHY being danced to by Lacey and Kyle!...I had a big grin on my face the whole way though the dance! I was so proud that Adam's song was chosen. The dancers were great and moved so well to the rhythm of the song! I kept thinking, though, how much better Adam's voice is....not trying to be negative but you can't help but notice a huge difference in the vocals. Still was good though and I so appreciate the exposure for Adam!!!

Yep this was rock week on DWTS so IIHY was a perfect choice. Kyle and Lacey killed it with their dance routine getting 8s and 7. Adam's original version too long for the length of the dance so they had to sing a shorter version. The crowd was really into it, clapping along and enjoying the song as well as the dance. Course no on can hold a candle to Adam singing it but still great exposure for this hit song on the #1 show on t.v. right now. Not too shabby! :)

anon 8:36 Oh Yes They Do...last two weeks of DWTS the original artists come and sing their songs and the pro dancers choreograph a dance that suits the music, then they dance (the pros, that is.)

Anon @ 10:14 good on ya. Not shabby at all!!!

Agree with everyone. Adam's songs have been used in several TV shows already and that is good enough exposure for him. We were having dinner once when i heard SFW playing and i literally jumped from my seat, rushed in front of the TV and saw that it was used by Amazing Race-Asia. I was grinning from ear to ear and need not finish my meal coz i was more than satisfied with that TV promo.

It just feels so good that in this manner people are acknowledging this mega talented musician. Slowly but surely Adam is reaping the fruits of his labor.

Just finished watching Dancing. (I use DVD so I can skip commercials). Heard those 1st notes and was jumping off the couch! My mom thought I was nuts at first. What great exposure! Did anyone else notice how so many audience members were clapping to the music and singing along? Didn't see that with any of the other songs. A lot of them also made noise at the very beginning when it was obvious what song it was. So happy for Adam, getting his song really out there. Gotta go to bed now. Normally, I would already be there, but I KNEW there would be lots of posts about this and had to check it out!

Did anybody notice that a couple of the guys were sportin guyliner...Rick Fox and Derek Hough for sure.....

I have never heard anyone sing an Adam song as good as him, not even Pink. In Swedish Idol, the final audition, the contestants got a Kelly Clarkson song and WWFM. Most of them managed the KC song but failed horribly with WWFM. I think some of them tried to copy Adam, and we all know that´s a mission impossible. It was painful. But we got to hear the original at the end. There was a lot of WWFM that night. Big smile!

Even I can dance some tango and I'm surprised that IIHY makes such a good tango piece :D

What a joy! It was fun to hear and watch!

The choreography did not do the song justice. There is so much more they could have done with that.

@MGF - just saw your post in the Honolulu Weekly Up Close w/ AL thread. Your kind words brought a big big :) on my face. You know I always look forward to the interaction between Adam and Brooke that's why i really enjoyed that fan vid. Had that one bookmarked already. Again thanks for the link and for making me smile! I love reading your posts.

@Anon 4:59, Kyle is NOT a pro dancer, and one of the smartest things for the pros to do with their stars is choreograph a dance WITHIN THE STAR'S GRASP and highlight the abilities the star does possess.

Watched DWTS. Hearing IIHY was great. Way to go Adam. Everyone loves IIHY>

@Bing 5:36 - Glad you saw that Bing, meant it! And hey, I saw on twitter that someone tweeted from the Hawaii show last night that Adam & Brooke's interaction last night was a can't miss, LOL. Yep, woohoo for that "Bookmark" function :).

Anon 4:59pm - I'm not saying it wasn't advanced enough. There are many basic manoeuvres and beginner/intermediate things that could have been done with it making it even better that weren't.

I guess they were not allowed to use Adam's version of IIHY? His voice, of course, is way "betterer", but it's his song just the same so it's all good. I was eating toast in the kitchen when I heard it and, of course, had to watch and listen! What a thrill! Adam is definitely big time! Everyone seemed to enjoy it and what a great tango for this song! Who would think it - just amazing!!! More exposure for our sweet Adam!!!nancdruuu2

@Anon 7:28, Oh, okay, I get what you're saying now :).

Anonymous said...

@Anon 7:40am - s'all good. Though I didn't care for the choreo, I was really happy to see a tango to one of Adam's songs! I've been wanting to choreograph a tango to For Your Entertainment for awhile now, but no time :(

DWTS has been having a lot of current, pop artists on to perform their latest hits. Maybe Adam? I'm torn about this. but just remembered its ABC so probably no chance in hell! As someone said above, of all the rock songs to choose from, selecting IIHY is a big compliment. Happy to hear Orianthi too since I'm such a fan after seeing her with Adam. Adamluv

we get "DWTS" over here in the uk...that wasn't to bad really..i watched last season when the live band sang "FYE" ouch it was really really bad, but just more proof that nobody can touch Adam's voice :D...

i like lacey i think she's ace...

It was fucking crazy when I heard the song from DWTS. I told to my daughter to make it louder so that I can hear the audience clapping with the music. They couldn't escape from adams appeal and charm. How much more if it was Adam. Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Crazy........... for you Adam......................Come back to Toronto pls.................................
