OMG I can't wait to watch the whole thing on Sunday.....................You are so sexy and intelligent my darling Adam. Very articulate and handsome yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
As we have said before, Adam was so blessed to have grown up within that loving and accepting family...one who gave Adam the freedom and opportunities to grow as a person and as an entertainer. Without that environment, we would probably never have met Adam..and chances are he would not be the well-rounded and happy man that he is today...The elements of the Universe aligned just perfectly and gave us Adam.
What a great family, so open minded and articulate. It is no surprise Adam is who he is, just look at the combination of his parents. Love you Adam and so excited for E TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY. Love you for your honesty and your talent is a frosting on a very yummy cake!!!!!!!!!.-indigo.
No, it's only on cable. Find a friend where you can see it, or have them record it for you as I will be doing. Liked this promo so much better than the other ones - kind of sad about them worrying that his own brother would have a problem with Adams orientation. Adamluv
I can only hope that Adam's story will help many young men who are struggling with their sexuality. This is a very lonely place to be. I know he doesn't want to be the poster boy, but sometimes life places you where you do the most good.
Very pleased to see that at afterelton.com they recommend their viewers see this show. They also have a link to his Purple Haze video. Two positive shout-outs on the same day is very encouraging since they tend to make snarky remarks when reporting on Adam. They also talk about a new show on the Sundance Channel debuting Mon. titled "Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys". We can all identify with that title, cant we? LOL! Adamluv
It seems that Adam's True Hollywood Story will make a better impression than any of the It Get's Better videos (except Adam's of course) on confused gay and lesbian youth. Listening to Adam should make troubled young people realize they are NORMAL and not freaks. It's the self-hate that can destroy teens and anyone for that matter. Adam, you just keep doing good work by being who you are. Your fans are so proud of you and your entire family. Love you. nancdruuu2
@Eva - girl, who you kiddin'... who you think you're talking to... sleeping... what are we, amatuers... ;)
But seriously, 7:04pm EST standard time for me - just saw glitzlady's post about it on the newest thread... gotta put Real Life to bed first, but then YOU KNOW I'm squeezing it in before Hubby time (which he'll probably be quite fine with). MGF
Gosh i adore this family! @glitzylady you said it perfectly :)
@The Dark Side - i sure hope it works that way too. I think that the way he is living his life now makes him the perfect but of course reluctant poster boy that you are saying :) And much as he wants to avoid it, IMHO he is now the symbol of strength and hope for those who are different.
MGF, your "amateur" comment but the best!! And Eva, thanks so much for that twitter exchange. Now those are 2 intelligent men and beyond hysterical! Loved their repartee! Adamluv
yep, that was a strange and not very agreeable twitter exchange between Neil and Eber. It's clear that the two boys did not get along at all. I had heard this before and am inclined to believe there was major sibling rivalry there. It may still exist as they seem so different. I'll reserve any other comment until I see the entire show, but mombert sounds like the real good one here. Dad and Neil seem tolerant but not that supportive. Wonder why parents divorced. No one's business but wonder if it had anything to do with the boys.
We all could learn alot about what gay and lesbian teens go through and how hard it is when one realizes after they figure out what is happening to them. They are scared to death. I have been there with my son and I did not realize untill he told me at 19 years old after he went to college. It was hard very hard and I feared how others would treat him; I still do because of the ignorance of others and how judging they are. They are the butt of jokes;slurs, bullying and more. I know him as my son a great person;hard worker, caring human being. I don't think of him as gay gay gay. I love that Adam and his family are showing the reality of what so many go through and the unnessary pain one goes through. I pray that others will think long and hard before they judge, belittle, degrade those in this community because they do have a place here. Some are oozing with talent, wit and wisdom. Thanks Adam for all you do to raise awareness to this subject. Thanks to the Glambert fans who did the video on "It gets better." As a Mom I appreciate it more than words can express. I feel we are now moving forward..baby steps but forward. God Bless all on this site who support human rights over just a "fews" rights. Together we can make a differance one person at a time. Thanks again!
I love the whole clan. I think it takes the loving, nurturing mom and the fast, witty father and brother stirred together to make the good foundation that Adam had. Theatre let him have his escape. Then, add a little Germany "Hair" spice, and a smooth elixer of Brad (Cheeks, his first love)and you get the self assured, confident, articulate, funny, gorgeous, extraordinarily talented rock god that is Adam Lambert. ;) All his different roads travelled were essential to lead him to us. Thank you universe. We have been blessed.
Can't wait to see this show. Adam is so powerful in his honesty about how he felt growing up. He did this at the very beginning...and thankfully continues to do so. Imagine a gay and lesbian group telling parents that they shouldn't bring it up with their child! The more we hear from the gay youth, the more we learn what we should do. Some counselors say the child should come out to the family, but many of the young gays I met say they welcome a mom or dad that will tell the rest of the family. So much to learn and Adam is a great teacher. Oh, and love the change in the Purple Haze lyrics...excuse me while I kiss this guy...
This promo piece was so poignant when Adam says he discovered that he was attracted to boys and was so afraid that someone else would find out. What a hard and lonely time it must be for children discovering this! I know that Adam would probably not be the person he is now without that struggle, but it is sad that any child has to face that reality alone. Adam was lucky, though, to have a loving and accepting family. Surely Adam's family was the foundation that allowed him to move to LA, travel the world, and "blossom".
Anon 10:58 My two sons are 4 years apart in age and there was a time they couldn't be in the same room together. The fought all the time verbally and then it escalated into fist fights. They got over it, thank God. As adults they are the best friends, were each other's 'best man' and ironically married 4 year apart sisters. We're all one big family now and all love Adam.
Anyone that has followed Eber and Neil on twitter would see that they are in reality very attached at the hip and very much alike. Both are cerebral men with a wicked sense of humour relishing the repartee. Both are also very liberal political thinkers. Eber recently had a birthday and sent a tweet to Adam and Neil that if they didn't send a tie and 5000 Euros, he would release the birthday tape! It had to be something very funny between Adam and Neil and Eber was having fun with both of them. All 3 can be very funny. Eber has been with his partner for at least 10 years. She is a writer and so is Eber. My guess is they are both very literary minded and have that in common. Leila seems very warm and loving and she and Adam are very close. They are all good people that did an outstanding job raising 2 fine men that in spite of having totally different personalities seem to appreciate and love each other. I think being on this GNT together probably has created a new respect for each others abilities and strengthened their bond. This very first successful tour will be like no other. They will always share the memory of this very special time. The picture of them horsing around in the water in Hawaii was so typical of brothers having fun with each other. My girls are 10 months apart and I thought they would kill each other growing up. Total opposites, but now are so close and talk every day. Growing up can really change things. Adam and Neil had the very best parents and seem like typical brothers. I commend Leila and Eber and can't wait to watch E! funbunn40
As non political as Adam is, I think the universe has special plans for him that are bigger and more profound than he can imagine. We all know how uniquely talented and articulate he is as well as a magnet for attention. This E program can do much to reassure and comfort so many that feel so isolated and different. He is a powerful example of the blessings of individuality and what happiness can follow, if you give time a chance and seek avenues of support. Even Perez Hilton has appeared to have had an awakening and acknowleged that he made terrible mistakes in outing people. There is a lot of talk now about bullying and the destruction and pain as a result of it. Maybe in an indirect way Adam gave Ricky Martin the courage to accept himself and be free. Adam doesn't have to march in parades and picket. All he has to do is just live his life with honesty, confidence and love. That is where his power and purpose lie. He is a rare gift that I hope the world will treasure and accept without reservation. He is plugged into that big outlet in the sky and he charges us with his energy and beautiful spirit. He can do much to make the world a better place. He certainly has made my life richer! Love that man!! funbunn40
Thank you, all, for your WONDERFUL comments on this thread. You all said it so well, already, that all I can do is humbly agree with everything previously said. Adam is a gift - showing the world that you can grow up to be strong, articulate, confident and smart despite feeling alone and confused as a youth. Sad that life has to be that way - but I hope the world looks to Adam as an example of "it will get better"!
Why is it that i feel like crying reading your comments. It gives me such joy witnessing how Adam has touched lives in so many wondrous ways. I hope that we will all continue sending him in return our positive thoughts of acceptance and love to recharge him each day. Of course the windfall and awards will make him extra happy but knowing Adam these are all superficial. It goes without saying that he truly values more his artistic freedom, music, love, family and friends. I am completely in awe of his character and it fascinates me to see how he is evolving from an AI contestant to being a legendary icon that he is meant to be. Yes Adam you are a gift to humanity that we should learn to embrace with open hearts and minds. Thank you for sharing your talent to the world. And thank you for making a big difference in our lives. It never occurred to me that this is going to be a very humbling experience. Thanks for all the inspired posts :)
funnbunn40 your girls are only 10 months apart? Whew! My brother and I are 11 months apart, but I can't imagine being pregnant again so quickly! Glad your girls are close. My 17 and 18 year old sons don't like each other so muc now, but I understand that when they are older, will probably be very close. I hope so!
funnbunn40, loved your comment: "He is plugged into that big outlet in the sky and he charges us with his energy and beautiful spirit. He can do much to make the world a better place."
funnbunn40..that was eloquent! As far as sibling rivalry goes my brothers were awful. One put poison in the other's coke bottle...not really thinking that it could have been fatal!!! Even as young adults they would argue about who had the bigger dog! My husband's mother bought him and his brother a set of boxing gloves...all these guys are really close now. Boys do grow up..sort of. ha. I think Adam has a great family, and I like the way his parents talk openly about the way it was for them. Do you know of any other family of a gay entertainer who has done this? Cher is now talking about her son, but the Lambert family has been ahead of everyone in my book. What a gift!
Thanks y'all for your nice words. OT..@ Daydreamin, My daughters used to take each others jeans and other clothes when in high school. One day they were actually pulling hair and kicking each other. My husband had them empty their dresser drawers on the living room floor to each get their own clothes. To our surprise. neither one had any of their clothes! Their friends had them, even some of their shoes! They're now 49 and 50, total opposites in their likes and dislikes, but finally gave up trying to change each other and they appreciate their differences. They are now best friends. Neil and Adam fought 90% of the time too and I bet today they are fiercely loyal to one another. My sister is 7 yrs younger than I and I don't ever remember fighting with her over anything. She was born a sweet soul and still is. As far as poison goes, I did think many times of poisoning my ex-husband!lol funbunn40
OMG @funbunn40 thanks so much for this very interesting sharing. My boys are 19 and 21 with opposite personalities. The younger one is very impatient with his brother up to now and i would call his attention about that once in a while. My eldest is soft spoken who would just ignore the tantrums of the other or usually give in that's why they didn't get into big fights. It is also my wish that as they grow older they would have a better relationship though the problem is basically the attitude of the younger one. I have a strong feeling that it has something to do with his brother being effeminate as they were growing up :( LOL on the poisoning! Thanks again funbunn40.

Well said glitzylady, you posted at the same time I did, not as articulate as you but I try none the less.........indigo.
@indigo
You said it just fine!!! Very yummy cake indeed!!! LOL!!
I don't have cable. Is this on the mainstream channels?
AW! what a cute pic of Adam, he was photogenic even as a child. What a star!....indigo.

Without his parents, we won't see today's Adam. I hope US, no, the whole world be able to see this.
I hope someone puts this on youtube when it's aired.. I live in Denmark, so I'll just have to wait :(

Is'nt it ironic that his THS airs the same time as the AMAs. I'm sure this is no coincidence and pure genius.
Funny twitter exchange between Neil and Eber:
Neil:
Gonna sue @milestougeaux for defamation after E! True Hollywood Story
Eber:
@negativeneil ..the whole topic of you being a pain in the ass little shit never came up.
Neil:
@milestougeaux but what about how if i were ever armed with the knowledge of Adam's sexuality he would suffer immeasurably?!
Eber:
Oh they evidently edited out the point I was making & the preface that @ the time you 2 were fighting 90% of the waking hours
Apparently that whole little shit thing was left to be inferred
I also did say later when it did become obvious, you were very cool . Hope that made it in there. Otherewise fine sue me.
Neil:
@milestougeaux i'm gonna edit that part out and then still sue you. It's what Fox News would do.
Eva
Holy shit! You guys are probably sleeping now and I have just seen the hottest WLL in history. Purple Haze and WLL.
