Adam Lambert breaks mycharity: water records!

From charitywater.org:

Thanks to Adam Lambert + fans, Saturday was a record-setting day on mycharity: water.

You probably caught all our Tweets over the weekend — Saturday was Adam Lambert’s 29th birthday, where he raised more than $115,000 in one day, all for clean water projects. That’s the most raised in one day on mycharity: water! And this made his campaign the highest-raising one in mycharity: water history (and he hasn’t hit his goal yet!).

We were blown away by his fans’ support and continue to watch his campaign page, excited for him to reach his goal of $290,000 by the campaign’s end. Thank, you Adam! And thanks to your devoted fans.

Adam should tweet today to thank his amazing fans worldwide for donating $261,000 + (so far!) in just 2 weeks and their awesome messages to him for his 29th birthday on the Charity Water site. I would LOVE to hear from him :)

Anonymous said...

YES it would be nice if Golden Boy/Godfather would let us know that he appreciates us.....

Anonymous said...

We contribute because we appreciate him.

Anonymous said...

very nice! this will make Adam happy!

@anon 10:02am I am absolutely desagree with you. Sure, Adam knows how much we love him and always happy to help him by votes, donations, etc. But I think some thank you note will be fine with me.

Adam's dad (Eber) tweeted this around 1:30 PM (Eastern time) today:

"Wow. Once again the Glamworld is impressive:raising over a qtr million $ for a truly humanitarian cause. Good people one and all. Cheers."

CONGRATULATIONS GLAMBERTS!!!! JOB WELL DONE!!! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE POWER OF LOVE!!!!

I think if the charity:water site wasn't down so much on Saturday, the charity would have reached it's goal of $290K on Sat. But I'm so thrilled that we reached over $260K. The best gift one could give is to help others by making a true spiritual connection to give basic necessity of life which is water to those in need. I'm sure in a right time Adam will thank us for it.

I'm from Spain and today I woke up and went to the laptop to check Adam's twitter out, I wanted to know if we had heard of him, but surprise.... he hasn't twittered anything.
In my opinion he should thank all the people who donated some money (it is a lot of money, I think he never thought people could donate so much!!).
And also I've seen a lot of videos wishing him happy birthday (made with a lot of love and time), and some people had cake like this:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Adam-Lambert-Fan-club/252558399090#!/photo.php?fbid=10150090472001073&set=o.252558399090

So I'm really disapointed with him for this reason, fans have taken the trouble to show to him all their admiration and love to him. So I think his fans deseve a thank you.

With respect because I love him,

Naike

I'm hugely disappointed Adam hasn't shown gratitude for the donations. But then, we don't want to start telling Adam what he should and shouldn't do. We want him to be true to himself.

Anonymous said...

Well then, thank you to Papa Lambert for stepping up to the plate! But Adam, honestly, if you have time to tweet Kesha, and PerezHilton, you must also have time to tweet your fans and acknowledge their incredible response to your request. It will take 10 sec of your time, you will make thousands happy, and you'll achieve your goal in no time as it will give a new boost to everyone. Is your Twitter down?

A gift of any kind should be given out of the goodness of your heart with no expectation of anything in return.

Adam is a perfectionist in all things he does. Perhaps he was waiting to reach the ultimate goal of $290,000 to thank everyone. I agree, however, that a little nod for the thousands of good wishes and videos for his birthday would be nice.

Anonymous said...

I have to agree with the "disappointed" comments. Takes two seconds to twitter a thank you. I know he was busy all weekend with family and friends - but this was a big deal $115,000 all on this birthday!!!! The fan videos - I'm not as upset about. I don't think he tweeted a thank you for the fan videos last year. This year he should have least have tweeted thanks for the birthday wishes and donations. I have to say I'm really surprised and yes, dissapointed he didn't.

Be patient, peeps! We'll hear from Adam soon enough.Think Sauli is going back to Finland today, Adam also may have had out of town family and friends in LA for his big day and maybe he plans to see his new godson. I'm just as anxious to hear his response too and he is polite and I'm sure appreciative. It's only been 2 days and Eber acknowleged it. Adam will also in time. He has a lot of people vying for his time. I'm sure there are many fan videos and personal B-day wishes he hasn't had time to see and personal wishes to acknowlege. I'm really happy and proud so many stepped up and gave what they could. The end most important result is how many peoples lives will be saved and changed by these donations. It would really be nice if the news media would mention Adam and fans impact setting a donation record at charity water. I hope the goal will be reached! funbunn40

Anon 11:37. I felt like you did and made excuses for not hearing from him over the weekend. But I'm sorry - to not hear from him by now is almost rude!!!!! I know end results is our helping people - but come on - us fans did it because Adam asked us to!!! A simple tweet that said "thank you" is not asking much- no matter how busy you. I'm more upset that it might not have even crossed his mind. If it did - he would have tweeted. Sorry I feel so strongly about this fellow fans!

Actually, may be this is a reason why Adam's votes on fuse poll came down so fast? Yes, it started from Friday, but it was happen already once just for two days and Adam got more votes than MJ again. However, it doesn't seem many people vote on fuse now:( Also, even if Adam's Dad twitted thank you comment it still doesn't mean so much. Sorry, I don't get it. Also, I don't think I realy like the idea of this post-birthday auction for charites they gonna have next Saturday. It still 69 days left and I think Adam will get this $29,000 during this time.

Anonymous said...

Maybe he's busy signing our pics. He has a LOT to do

Anonymous said...

speaking of fuse votes...i feel like i'm the only one voting and the number just keeps dropping........

Anonymous said...

Isn't the fuse vote meaningless?? It doesn't count, right?

My goodness it's still early in the day in California...give Adam time he always tweets thank you's and I am certain he will tweet a thank you.
It is currently...

Truthfully Adam may not be out of bed! He's partied the entire weekend he maybe still rolling over or even tapping that :)

Some of us donated enough to get his autographed picture. I can't wait to get it and that's a great way of him saying thank you to me personally. But yes for those who couldn't donate enough to get his autographed picture and spent time instead to make BD videos and have BD parties across the globe I think an acknowledgement of his appreciation will be nice. You guys should give him some time though for him to gather himself. He shared with us his BD party pictures. That's good too don't you think so!

I agree with what Adamluv said...
"A gift of any kind should be given out of the goodness of your heart with no expectation of anything in return."

anon 11:35 & 12:40 I agree with you. Adam has company for goodness sakes. Many of you have commented on having company and not getting to computer to check 24/7. How come you can't give Adam a break? Maybe he hasn't heard the final amount yet for water charity. He will be so proud of his fans and will thank everyone. Give the man time to breath. I read these comments and some think Adam should just live for his fans, and he does the best he can, but he does have family and close friends that are important to him also. This is only the 31st, try to put yourself in his shoes, he has been busy.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Adamluv too. But I also want to say that, as far as I remember, Adam never failed to thank his fans or anybody who showed him support. And he often or probably always thanked his fans for their charity efforts by posting a video. So, he is probably doing something special for this occasion. Even if he is not doing that, there is no way he does not appreciate his fans. He is the most gracious person.
I am speaking for myself. I spent several minutes to make a donation. He worked so hard the entire year to entertain us. I am thanking him for the joy he has brought into my life. And I was happy to help other people in his name.

Anonymous said...

Give for the sake of giving, people! Adam has always been generous with his thank-you's, and most likely, he will send one out soon. It doesn't bother me that we didn't get an acknowledgment right away. I'm still glad I gave. Let's all grow up and remember what the real purpose of giving is all about. Adam was our impetus for giving. He has the power to move us to do good things. I don't feel the need to be patted on the back for it. Love you, Adam!

Anonymous said...

I really think if Adam will say the words "thank you" not that I needed a pat on my back, cuz I always give from my heart without expecting anything in return BUT most people expects this. I think is good PR and "brownie points". If he does this the numbers will move again. At the moment it's stagnant or slow progress... imho

Anonymous said...

It takes 30 sec to tweet. Not nice Adam.

Anonymous said...

A tweet only takes a couple of seconds. He could have asked someone to check the amount for him if he was really busy . I checked the progress several times a day over the weekend.

Re the Fuse poll,
maybe people have just given up, when they know its not just MJ fans they are voting against, but other singers who are voting for MJ against Adam, and at the end of the day the Poll doesn't actually get anything...
re thank you, sorry but agree with most, it takes just a minute to send out a text, and would mean so much to so many people.

Oh My God what a bunch of cry babies, did you solely give because you expected a thank you from Adam? How charitable of you. Remember entitlement is not sexy. I hope Adam doesn't see any of these comments except those who gave with there hearts.

@funbunn40 thank you for your comments, I couldn't have said it better, you are always on the money. The rest of you crybabies give it a rest. I can't believe how quick you are all so ready to put Adam down. Give the man a break.

Totally agree with both messages 3:48.
Only takes 15 sec!!!!!
And partially disagree with 1:06, it's true that a gift should be given without expectations in return but when someone receive something (a gift, donation, best wishes,...) would be polite and nice to say thank you (for me it's he first time I feel he has been a little rude so I'm a bit disappointed).

He tweeted "Push..." on 29th but I bet he starts receiving happy b-day tweets long before (because in Australia, Asia,...starts 29th before).
*sorry for my english
**I love Adam but I can't understand him right now, I'm sorry.

Anonymous said...

Jeeez people! Is it for the "thank you" you donated? Adam has been away from twitter before and came back. Is it necessary to start bashing him after 2 days of silence? Please calm down!

laurieb said...

WOW! I cannot believe what I am reading. Because people donated, they are owed something?? How about the fact that thousands of lives will be lived because of your "unselfish" donations. Lets put this in perspective people. We all know that if Adam hadn't mentioned it we wouldnt have even gave it a thought. Adam gave us all the opportunity to share of ourselves. What we do with that opportunity comes from within, and if we need to be "thanked" for doing the right and moral things then this is a sad statement about us as human beings. The "thank-you" and feelings of pride should just naturally come from inside us all, and not something that has to be hand feed to us in order to feel it.

Polls mean absolutely nothing, voted vigorously last year for events that TOTALLY ignored the results, MTV, Peoples Choice, and more....
Don't need thanks from Adam, the great pics were enough. If he doesn't tweet, he is dealing with his own stuff....

The sultan has spent his time with the eunuchs not once looking over his harem.. And the females are belly dancing for days now! Oh my, how rude of him! :-0 :-)

All kidding aside, I think love and generosity are, well, just sexy. I see thousands of people (mostly ladies) already sexier and many more thousands of people who will be healthier because of a certain Lambert. The result is quite amazing, but I love more the meaning of it. Just love. Pure.Simple.Rough.LOVE. For just a man! Very good karma for that guy indeed. And very good karma for the Glamberts too! Don't spoil it with your egotism now, you sexy things!

I don't know about any of the rest of you, but I donated (and gave more than I can afford) because, put simply, caring for our fellow human beings is the right thing to do. A gift isn't really a gift if the giver expects recognition in return. Don't be so quick to judge!

I think the feeling we all got from doing this wonderful charity in honor of Adams birthday put us on a high for a few days, and we are waiting for Adam to thrill us with what it means to him to have wonderful giving fans,Yes he should say a few words..we gave him his Birthday wish from our hearts.....

Anonymous said...

Adam just tweeted this today:

Thank you all for the beautiful birthday wishes and parties!!! And- We've reached 260k for Charity:Water!!! Amaaaaaaazing!

Some of you people remind me of a relative I have who is always keeping score. When she gives a gift, she gets bent out of shape if she doesn't receive a thank you phone call within 24 hours or a thank you note within 36 hours. Give Adam a break! The man has had a lot going on. He will certainly issue a gracious thank you, but I think it is rude and petty for people to bitch about it not being timely enough.

Anonymous said...

Same here... lol Thanking personally is not even enough! you must call the next day to say your *thank you* again!... good gawd‼ :))

The end...!!

Very nice write up. They didn't even use the tired word amazing.

Anonymous said...

All the people who think Adam doesn't owe his donors anything ought to get together and each give $1,000 (anonymously of course) and bring this to an end now.

Anonymous said...

One gives because they see a need NOT because they are looking for something in return ... who are you people that are complaining that Adam did not acknowledge ... he sees, he knows and if you are a real fan you would not keep harping on the fact that he has not responded ... but, as you see, he did respond! I hope you are happy! The joy should come from helping those in need and not for any other reason!!!!

Anonymous said...

Are all you whiney babies happy Adam gave you pats on your backs ???

What an embarrassment to this fandom. Let's criticize Adam to all Hell because he didn't thank us soon enough for donating to Charity. Again, Adam didn't do what we expected him to do in the time we expected him to do it, so let's go on every comment section and bitch and complain about him. Keep toeing the line Adam or else we'll chastise you.

This is becoming the norm for so-called Adam fans. More like a lynch mob. Grow up little boys and girls !!!

God, we are a demanding bunch! Adam always responds to us. Leave him alone! Let him enjoy his birthday & the afterglow. These negative comments, to me, smack of entitlement. Have we learned nothing?

Slow down people! I am sure it is the first thing he will do once his company is gone and he has a chance to breath. He may have not gotten an update yet. He finds things out some times later than sooner. He does not sit at his computer like well" me"and look for things. He is a busy man. Don't over think it please;we do not need more negativity in this world. We are Adams fans and we are suppose to excenuate the positive rememeber?
