Well, I hope this quiets all the naysayers, who were upset that Adam hadn't responded. It was his birthday weekend, for God's sake, and he had a lot going on with his family and friends. We all KNEW that he would show his appreciation!! I gave to this charity for all the good reasons of helping people in need. And I now hope that those disgruntled fans are appeased.
It was my great honor, Adam, to support mycharity water and help others around the world who never might otherwise have had clean water. No thank you is necessary.
No he did not have to see all the complaints... he has always said THANK YOU!
There's a 3 hour time difference between the east coast and west coast how about after a long weekend he was late getting up and had morning/afternoon activities with Sauli.
He doesn't have a 9-5pm job therefore, he doesn't have our daily schedule.
I am glad so many people gave usually those who whine the loudest gave the least if anything at all. I know I am in Sales & Marketing and the smallest accounts usually the worst ones.
Wow did we not really learn anything from Adam? Everyone wrote such beautiful words to him and his charity. How can anyone jump to any negative conclusions when we all know how totally wonderful Adam is. I never doubted how much Adam appreciated our donations and kind words. Anyone who truly loves Adam would never doubt him. Hope a lesson was learned and we all must support and love Adam remember he is a human being not a God.
And really, all this giving to charity water was NOT about Adam. It was about the people in this world who live without clean water every day. Adam was the catalyst for the giving, simple as that. No thank you necessary for me and I suspect no thank is expected by the vast majority of those who donated.
I think the whiners need to be cast out of the Adam Society of Love, Acceptance and Peace until they understand that giving requires NO thank you.
@5:33 I second your comments. I too do accounting and the worst worst worst whinners are the small account clients. The quiet clients are always large and gracious. I saw the $2.00 contributors with their long long comments and I rolled my eyes and in my mind I thought they're the ones that constantly tweet to Adam with their stupid demands. No thank you is necessary when you give to charities.
Those people who asked for a thank you response from Adam, they are not real and loyal fans.
Big embarrassment and shameful!!!!!!!!!! I hope Adam will be okay about what these people think of him. We love u Adam and please just ignore those small minded people. We believe in your true intentions and we respect you.
I so agree with the comments above. The people who were whining and bitching because they didn't receive an instant thank you tweet from Adam come across as petty and immature. Sometimes it is really a downer to read the comments on this site. I am grateful for those who post intelligent and positive messages. Pay attention and learn, whiners!!!
Adam introduced us to a wonderful charity. We take clean water for granted every day. I was so happy to give with or without a thank you. There are some who can not afford to give much and even if they give one dollar it is out of the kindness of their heart. Every little bit helps and those who wrote long comments just wanted to extend their wishes to make up for a smaller donation possibly. Adam would not want us to critisize any one who donated. oops hope my comment is not too long lol
Adam doesnt get a pass just because he's Adam. Courtesy isnt tossed out the window just because you have a busy weekend. WE gave to charity:water because HE asked us to, not because it was our charity of choice. If you're like me, you donate whatever you can whenever you can. But a little thank you goes a long way.
I was so embarrassed by all the whiners looking for a pat on the back for doing something that didn't need a thank you. I want to thank Adam for making me aware of this charity. Every time I take a glass of water I now stop and think about the millions of people who will have clean drinking water thanks to Adam for bringing our attention to this charity. I would like to believe that most of the complainers were not fans but just some trouble makers wanting to stir things up. I've seen it happen too many times on this site and of course it is always Anonymous. I wish these Debbie Downers would go visit a web site of someone they actually like and try being positive. To those on this site who gave without expecting anything from Adam I say thank you for knowing that giving is something that should be done without expecting anything in return. IreneRose
Anon7:16PM Adam didn't demand that you give to this charity he politely asks that in lieu of birthday gifts that HIS FANS would send him to direct that money to this charity, it was up to the individual to give or not. To me that means that it was my choice and I should thank Adam for bringing my attention to such a charity, I certainly didn't need him to thank me. IreneRose
My site of choice for Adam news is 24/7, but I so tire of the whining and petty fighting. Can someone tell me if there is a site where the positive, peace loving Glamberts hang out. I would love to go there.
And to those who EXPECT a thank you for giving --- giving in the charity water campaign --- it was NOT about YOU. Sorry...it' not. It IS about people WITHOUT CLEAN WATER. Do you get the ridiculous comparison here?
Wonder how many tweets Adam received about not thanking people!! To my mind that tweet should have come sooner. No, he certainly doesn't have to do anything IreneRose, but it's proper behavior when you ask something, and people respond. Basic common courtesy should prevail. Yes, he thanked people but only after he noticed negative tweets. Get with it Adam. We love you, but don't take your fans for granted.
Why do some people have to destroy a beautiful giving experience by several thousand of fans and make it something other than it was.
This was an outpouring of love and compassion by people from all over the world...to help people they will never meet and never know --- and all started by a beautiful man with a beautiful heart.
How did the purpose and intent behind all of this get lost?
What time would have been OK with you? One hour earlier than he tweeted the thank you? Two hours? Three minutes? Seven seconds? Right after YOUR donation? Please.
Honestly. Right now I am ashamed to be part of this fan group.
@ Irene rose 99.9% of people who come on this site are fans, just because somebody doesn't agree with something Adam wears of says doesn't mean they are not fans.I get really fed up with the fact that we are all expected to agree 100% of the time otherwise we're not true fans, and the reason most people sign anon if saying anything even slightly negative is because they're afraid of the backlash aimed at them. And we're not all anonymous. I don't think people were whining, and expecting a pat on the back, we all knew that Adam would say thank you eventually, he always does. But I still say that given how unbelieveable the donations were on saturday, this text should have come earlier, despite his hectic schedule, it would have taken him 30 seconds.....but better late than never!
Adam should have given up twitter by all means. I don't think he can survive this type of craziness and high demand from his fan for long. The fanthom has gone nuts after his return.
I don't think Adam should give up his twitter. It's all healthy discussions, nobody is insulting anyone here. We can all LEARN from this. It's all up to individual judgements.
And @7:34, you should write an etiquette book so we can all become more aware of the proper time frame for saying thank you. If Adam was so very wrong to wait 42 hours to express his gratitude, I have been guilty beyond all forgiveness for sometimes taking days, or even a week (gasp) to send a thank you. You must be a new Adam fan, if you're a fan at all. If you had been following him for long, you would know that he expresses his gratitude to his fans on a regular basis.
And if anyone was actually rude enough to tweet Adam directly to reprimand him for not issuing a thank you tweet - shame on you! That is the ultimate in bad manners.
I think we owe Adam a thank you also for making us aware of this charity to bring clean water to underdeveloped countries. No one was forced to make a donation. It was done out of devotion to a talented performer we adore in honor of his birthday. Hopefully the donations were given basically to help people in need of something we take for granted every day...clean water. One person can make a difference and Adam Lambert helped to bring that about through asking his fans to donate to a worthwhile cause.
My complaint is how easily people on this site come down on Adam, he is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't. I still say Adam didn't have to thank me for his guidance to a wonderful charity, and that is what this was all about not about him having to thank us. By the way I knew he would thank his fans because that is who he is but by putting a time line on it, is ridiculous. Again I thank Adam for directing me to this very important charity, can't even imagine not having clean water. IreneRose
Are you kidding? Some of the biggest and baddest celebrities are way more responsive on Twitter than Adam. All he does is name drop. Some of you people who are calling us whinners ought to follow others and see what they do. They DO thank their fans all the time and don't just talk to other celebrities on Twitter. I adore Adam and his music, but if he specifically asks fans to donate to a certain cause, he should thank them. Maybe YOU don't need a thank you, but I do. It's what I would do. Wouldn't you? It only takes a few seconds to write a tweet.
Fan demand? Who in the hell do you think buys everything and attends concerts. If he can't take fan demand, he should get out of the business because that's what is paying for his new life style and fancy spancy parties.
WOW! Such negativity here. Such entitlement. I think I'm done reading posts here. I'll just stick to looking at the news.
Adam has always been thankful and gracious. That's one of the reasons he has so many adoring fans.
I'm on team "cut the guy some slack". He's been a tad busy lately. New house, new boyfriend, party to plan, have and recover from. Outfits to put together for public appearances, and who knows what behind the scenes to get ready for the Grammy's.
Rant over. Think I'll go hang out where it's more friendly. Over and out on this place.
What is wrong with people! "damn if you do, damn if you don't". I thought they wanted to hear from Adam on twitter to say "thank you". Now, that he did, still complaining... gee whiz‼ *cant please EVERYBODY that's FO SHO‼* :))
yikes. please, now we have to compare Adam to other celebrities who tweet their 'fans' all the time and keep them updated... do people not have jobs, families, concern about all the issues in the world. they just worry about Adam not tweeting as much as Gaga or blah blah blah.
8:16 I don't want to be mean but why don't you stick to the the biggest/baddest celebrities on twitter and get all their thanks then? I have to say though that Adam says a lot more on twitter than name drop etc. I have read all the tweets he sends and usually he is very interesting and can be funny. He does use it to praise other musicians and pass on the songs and DVD's that he likes etc. but what is wrong with that? A lot of his fans enjoy his taste. He also talks about books etc. and asks for recommendations. Also if he is going somewhere he asks for places to visit. He uses it for rumor control. I could go on but you get the idea. You could just go to his concerts etc. and forget twitter.
@7:15 and &7:34 According to proper etiquette,a thankyou for a gift should be made within 2 weeks, preferably by a hand written note. Adam is well within that time frame[2 days!]and your petty complaining is an embarrassment and bid{IMHO] for instant gratification and recognition for something that shouldn't even be about you. There are many of us that donate out of regard for those less fortunate, without needing someone to say, look at me and what a great person I am. Adam more than complied within the boundaries of etiquette. If you expect a hand written note, then you'll have a long wait. Other than that, I really don't think you have anything to b*tch about! Give it a rest! You got your thanyou! Life is not on your time scedule. Sorry for the rant, but something beautiful was tainted by this pettiness. funbunn40
You know what kind of drives me nuts? People who can't think for themselves. Fans who use Adam's phrases like:
Entitlement isn't Sexy or It Ain't that Deep or Whatever other phrase
Can't anyone be creative or think for themselves?
Also, as dearly as I love Adam, he is a human being. Always remember that. (Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but it's true lol!) Always treat him like the human that he is. He has both good qualities and not-so-good qualities just like the rest of us. It's not a good idea to put a "celebrity" up on a pedestal. We all love Adam because he is sweet - and normal. I truly hope he remains that way b/c that's what's healthy for him.
hahahaha 9:55 hahahaha Ya think Adam invented "it ain't that deep" hahahahahahaha. Been around a long time. Now I must admit that "entitlement isn't sexy" is a new one, at least to me. Yeah, Adam is human just like the rest of us, and we all have our opinions that we are entitled to have (whether it's sexy or not). We don't all agree, and that's OK. Part of it is generational. We older guys think "thank you" is a nice thing to say, especially when you can tweet it in just a few seconds. Don't know a thing about what is "proper" in today's world, but obviously manners are not the same. I don't think Adam reads this blog since he doesn't even get on his official fan site but every few months and just to look around. He hasn't even written a blog on that site for months, even a brief one. That has also upset quite a few people. I do think he scans his tweets as he has said he does, and I'm sure he got a lot of them internationally that expressed some disappointment in not hearing from him regarding donations. In any case, it might have been a wake up for him as he did respond. He is super busy socially, romantically, musically, but he still needs to take a few minutes for his loyal fans. My opinion just as you are "entitled" to your own. So let's just cut the BS.
Adam tweeted and that made everyone happy. He acknowledged it all, parties, wishes and donations. He is a sweetheart and his whole fandom adores and admires him to no end. We all agree.
That said, we should all have the right to say what it is that we feel without being put down and accused of not being true fans. I didn't necessarily need a thank you for my donation, I just wanted to hear a little peep from him. Afterall, Perez Hilton got a quick response to his birthday wishes, why not us. I think we wanted to hear from him because the charity donation was the biggest event (besides his concerts) that brought all of us fans together, on one page. We have started donating two weeks ago and all this pouring of love translated into so much money -which is what Adam had asked from us - we were SO very happy to have managed to gather all this for him, that we really wanted his feedback. It all came from a good place, and I am sad that some of you thought of us as bitchy whiners. We were just eager to hear from him. Hear anything, because he had made his request two weeks before that and we really had not heard much since. That does not make us untrue fans, ungrateful or selfish, does it? Adam is a star, he is busy, he had friends and family in town, but he and his fans are in this thing together, this good thing, and this weekend, we thought he would reach out to us because that's what most of us would have done in such circumstances, celebrity or not. So when nothing came, there was some disappointment. Some of you may have more patience but there was really no need to use such harsh words towards people whose opinions differ from yours. We all come from different walks of life, we can't possibly feel, think and act the same. No one requesting a sign from Adam was rude and demanding on this site, or did I miss something?
Anyway, all is well that ends well. Adam tweeted, YAY! What matters is that Adam is happy, we are happy, clean water is on its way for needy regions, life couldn't be better, right? It would be great if we could end this here. I think Adam and fans alike would agree it’s time.
Hi @funbunn40 thanks a lot for the etiquette lesson for the day. I don't have the luxury of time anymore to comment on this site as much as i used to :(
First, i wish to congratulate all the generous Glamberts whose unwavering support and unconditional love for Adam made this record-breaking contribution to mycharity:water possible! Can you just imagine how many poor people will benefit from your altruistic donation, gosh that is incredible. YOU ALL ROCK! Much as i want to donate, i'm so focused now on our little project for #21 abandoned children instead. I may not be able to state it but in spirit i'm dedicating all my efforts to our dearest Diamond Boy because Adam gave me so much inspiration in doing this. Our finances are tight but i made it a point to make this extra special for these less fortunate kids. Adam has touched my life in the most wondrous ways and i'd like to pay it forward because that would make it more meaningful for me and my family. Adam, i need to thank you for inspiring me this way and you are indeed heaven-sent to me.
I was surprised and a little sad when a few of us were disappointed when Adam wasn't able to thank the fans at once. I really hope that you are just missing him soooo much and that you aren't that serious in finding fault right away. Please have more faith in him. We may be expecting too much from Adam also at a time when his schedule is a bit crazy but he is just as human as we all are. He is the most gracious and loving person i've ever known and i never doubted his sincerity, not even once. Let's be more patient with our international superstar and give him the understanding and consideration he also deserves.
Thanks everyone for your most thoughtful and honest posts. We are all entitled to our own observations and strong opinions. We just need to trust him more than we already do.
Again, CONGRATULATIONS & A MILLION THANKS TO ALL THE GLAMBERTS FOR YOUR ALTRUISM. You will all be winners in the end because remember, LIFE IS AN ECHO :-)
Are all you whiney babies happy Adam gave you pats on your backs ???
What an embarrassment to this fandom. Let's criticize Adam to all Hell because he didn't thank us soon enough for donating to Charity. Again, Adam didn't do what we expected him to do in the time we expected him to do it, so let's go on every comment section and bitch and complain about him. Keep toeing the line Adam or else we'll chastise you. Hail to the lynch mob mentality.
This is becoming the norm for so-called Adam fans. There's always a negative connected eventually to everything Adam says or does. Grow up little boys and girls !!!
I think this site should set some rules for people leaving comments.
I was at one of AOL blogs writing factual comments about Egypt and honestly it was based on my experiences and education. After writing a long comment, I noticed that my comment got a lot of thumbs up but then when I went to check back for replies to my comment I noticed my comment got erased. I wrote to AOL and asked them as an American I should be able to act my basic right of freedom of speech. They haven't put my positive informative comment back on.
What I'm trying to say is that we are all grown up and we should be careful what we write. Even if there are individuals that aren't fan of Adam. They can write a comment in a positive constructive way without putting down anyone or even our idol, Adam.
Your 29 Adam....maybe you lost sight of who put you where you are....I and a lot of people never heard of my charity water...so don't say you were giving just to give...you gave because of Adam.....and WE did a AMAZING job...THANK YOU to everybody that gave....
I have to agree with the "Damned if you do, Damned if you don't" school of thought. It seems Adam can't win lately with his tweets..In reading some of these comments, it seems like much he has said on twitter lately is open to debate and criticism, not just this subject, his Charity Water Campaign. Too much information, not enough information, not enough tweets, too many tweets about other artists, not enough to fans.......etc. "Can't win...." to quote him just last week..He is not going to be able to please everyone no matter what he does. Guessing he is probably running on fumes right now...busy week with friends and family, birthday party, entertaining guests, getting ready to do his new album, meetings, getting ready for the Grammys, trying to fit in a little R&R..and asking his fans to consider doing something for others less fortunate, which those of us who can participate, have done in a truly unbelievable fashion. Whether or not he was timely with his tweet acknowledging this generosity is really a matter of opinion. It was great to hear from him today. We also heard from his Dad, Eber, who said very nice things about Adam's "Glam World" fans. I would like to be able to live up to that description. I am here to celebrate Adam's birthday, the unexpected and almost over the top response to this original modest suggestion of donating to Charity Water instead of sending gifts to him, to be supportive of his career , and to admire him as a human being, which also means that perfection is in the eye of the beholder and not achievable in every instance. I'm sure not going to cast that "first stone". To tell the truth I gave it no thought until I started seeing comments here. I would guess he will issue a more "formal' and expanded thank-you and acknowledgement of the fans generosity soon. I am rather disheartened to see the negativity, when we should be cheering instead. Adam seems to be a kind generous man who has asked us, if we are so inclined, to help those who are in critical need of live sustaining clean water. I think that is really what is most important here. Apparently he really CAN'T win!
@12.08 nobody that commented about Adam not replying sooner said it in a bad way, nobody called each other bitches as @10.17 did, all they, we did, was express a bit of disappointment that he hadn't acknowledged (it didn't even have to be thanks, just an acknowledgment} about the amazing amount being donated, keep it up etc. and no its not entitlement, just courtesy. and @8.47, nobody is still complaining about Adam, we're all very happy and satisfied that he's sent a message, its the fact that we get called Bitches and told to shut the fuck up, get off the site etc because we can't be real fans because we dare to say our opinion that we're still moaning about. And to anon @10.18, well said you said what I was trying to say, but you said it much better.
"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
Hi Bing, Missed you recently and you put our differences in a much kinder, positive way. I too am grateful for all of the generous donations and what they will accomplish. You definitely are paying it forward helping these children. I've supported a boy in Kenya for the past 11 yrs. that has given me much happiness and purpose. Helping 21 abandoned children will be a daunting, but very rewarding task. Each one a gift with talents yet to be nurtured. They're so fortunate that you have such a big, generous heart. I wish you the best! Hope all on this site can go on and be happy for Adam and now look forward to seeing him on The Talk and the Grammys. Thankyou, IreneRose for your comments. funbunn40
I agree with 7:16, 7:34, 7:43 and also 9:55. You are constantly talking about the Water Charity but I think is more about the lots of messages that he probably has received from worldwide fans and videos prepared for the occasion as well (all of us have seen that videos and we have to recognize that they took the trouble to prepare them). So IT'S NOT ONLY FOR THE DONATIONS (that's the least of it), it's because when someone wishes you happy b-day as a polite response you have to thank you (I think Perez Hilton got a quickly response...on twitter).
I love Adam but as 9:55 in some way I think IS NOT GOOD TO IDOLIZE someone and in some way some of you are idolizing him. In my opinion with a phone with connection it takes 15 sec to have a look at his twitter (we know he did bc he response Perez Hilton).
I'm sorry but for the first time I think he hasn't act with the perfection we are used to.
I hate to say it, but I think all the "whiners" have a valid point. "Had a great birthday...my head hurts. Thanks to all my fans for your loving gifts." That took me 10 seconds to type (I timed it). He could have done it Sunday. That's all it would have taken to head all this off. Yeah, he's a busy guy, but not THAT damn busy. It's not so much about being polite than being smart. He knows his fans are dying for any little crumb thrown their way. He needs to remember how he got where he is and who put him there. In this case, I think it IS "that deep". He dropped the ball. Maybe this will be a life lesson for him; If you ask for action and you get it, don't ignore the results. And 15 seconds aint that much out of his busy schedule to expect.
I wish I could do a survey of how many (1) expected a thank you (2) just wanted Adam to tweet something (3) understood why Adam could not update his fans and (4) don't care less. Maybe its generational as someone already said. Or, even more likely, its dependent on the intensity of a fan's devotion. Be it said, Adam cannot please everybody all the time. He could only please some, some of the times or even none at all at least one time.
My charity support usually goes to Best Friends and other charities, but this was certainly a good one to support and show Adam how much we care for him and causes HE supports. However, ditto 3:09AM. 15 seconds...............hugs to Adam and ALL HIS GREAT FANS whose PASSION has helped many in schools and now in countries that need clean water.
If Adam's PR people, family or friends had checked on water charity or donated someone would have known what a GREAT JOB we did Saturday.....I don't know about RCA or his PR people..I guess they are just looking out for themselves $$$$$$$ I'm getting pass this now....but it will leave a dent in my Prince's armour....
I can imagine Adam scanning through his tweets: "GO AND DIE YOU FAT UGLY FAGGOT" "I WISH SOMEONE WOULD CHOP YOUR HEAD OFF WITH A CHAIN SAW YOU FAG ASS BITCH" "Why don´t you say thank you? Don´t forget who put you where you are" "Have you no manners? Say THANK YOU! I donated more than I can afford" "ALL FAGGOTS SHOULD DIE A PAINFUL DEATH" "BURN IN HELL YOU UGLY CRATER FACED FAG!" "You said thank you to Perez, why not me? Are we fans not important to you?"
I don´t know the exact words, but the hate tweets we have seen, and I guess he gets loads of them. Would you like to read things like that on your birthday or would you put the whole twitter shit aside for a coulple of days? If I give a bd-present to a friend, I don´t expect a thank you for at least a week. Why should I expect it from Adam? This fandom is crazy. Some of you loves to pick him apart, his hair is wrong, his clothes, his friends, his boyfriend, his manners. Oh, I don´t know. I just get tired.
Thanks so much for the kind words and your wisdom @funbunn40. I cherish my 24/7 Glamily no matter how diverse we may be. And all i know is that everyone has always been eager to be a part of Adam's charitable activities.
I'm so thankful that Adam uses his celebrity power for humanitarian causes and the Glamberts have never failed him since what we are witnessing here is the power of love. It is what keeps us together as it overshadows our minor differences in opinions and expectations with him. His ability to raise social awareness among the Glamberts worldwide is highly commendable.
Yes he can't please everybody for that is an impossible thing to do since we are all wired differently. But what is overwhelming is the bond amongst us which is our fervent love and dedication for this compassionate human being. And despite his imperfections we can all agree that he has always been well meaning, thoughtful and pleasantly kind.
Congratulations Adam and thanks for all the positive energy you are sending out to the universe. I refuse to feed the negativity and will give more emphasis on what has been achieved by the concerted effort of your most loving fans. Thanks again to all of you who made this possible. I'm so proud you guys. Please remember that saving lives is far more momentous than anything else in this world.
Yeah, ignore them like Adam said. Well, posts like these, just ignore them, right? Keep positive. I have been here for almost a year, those comments do not affect me anywhere. But its everywhere.
@Eva I agree with your comments above. What people seem to forget is Adam is only human, he is not prince charming or an alien from the planet fierce and he is the sweetest guy who is not perfect and to expect perfection is ridiculous. I'm also so tired of all that is expected from one person. I knew he would shout out to his fans and I can't believe that people expected him to do it immediately.
Thanks for the link to those pictures it actually brought me to tears, good tears and a wonderful warm feeling.
Thanks to @funbunn40 and @glitzlady I'm always happy to read your comments, they reflect my feelings but you guys say it so much better than me. IreneRose
Off Topic: I imagine we will soon see the pictures of Adam and his godson Riff here..I just got back from the above referenced site where the pictures are currently posted and they will instantly melt your heart! Beautiful tiny baby in Adam's arms, and what a lovely smile on Adam's face. Tears...!
We need to stop arguing and remember what brought us together in the first place. Adam's talent and beautiful heart. I gave to the charity to save lives and Adam was the one who brought our attention to the charity. We all have different opinions but let's put them aside and be loving and kind. We all have gotten so much joy and excitement from Adam the past couple of years and so much more is yet to come. Let's stay strong together as a glamily, and support and love Adam unconditionally.
I had hoped to see Adam egged fans on to donate to Charity:Water for the amount of $290K by his birthday. THAT was the goal he set it, wasn't it? Too bad that he kept quiet and didn't show any sign that reaching the $290K goal was a priority of his. I wonder why he didn't choose the Trevor Project for his fans to donate to in the first place.
I don't believe what I read here. Did you, whiners and complainers donated to Charity:water because YOU wanted to donate to noble cause, or because YOU wanted THANK YOU note from Adam? I can bet that the ones who complain the most donated the least if anything at all. BTW for all of you who troll here I recommend site called Top Idol run by Melinda Green, hypocrite and hater. You can go there and trash Adam to your heart desire with all the other losers. Just don't come here.
I was amazed at the horrible comments yesterday and sat on my hands to prevent a less than attractive response.
I was taught that to give from the heart without thought to personal gain. What is wrong with some people?? Knowing that their contribution may have extended someone's life for another day should have made them feel good. Knowing that you gave the gift of life together with Adam, should have made you feel special. I know I felt pretty good about myself and him.
Adam has ALWAYS been gracious, appreciative and thankful. I'd like to think that the majority of folks who commented otherwise were trolls and not fans. True Glamily is about love, support and Glitter, just like Adam.

FANS amigos.Aquà hay un solo denominador común. HH.
Some really nasty comments on this topic mostly from people who think Adam has no need to tweet to his fans. They were called in one tweet "entitled bitches." All people were asking is a little contact from Adam. They were not asking for a charity thank you. They were asking for a mere comment because so many produced special videos for his birthday that took hours and hours of time. When someone wishes you a Happy B-day, do you just ignore them? I think not. No one was rude to Adam as far as I can tell. Everyone loves Adam or we would not be here and speak so passionately and want the best for him. There was no reason to have this really mean discussion. Adam would not be happy about this.
Someone above listed some very ugly tweets that I think are fiction. I'm sure some of tweets Adam gets are disgraceful. But I would not put the homophobic idiots in the same category as someone saying, "Dude, let's hear it for your charity work." I would venture to guess that none of the people here said anything nasty to Adam, and they don't deserve to be slammed up against the wall. The end.
I'm getting irritated now. I spent about 10 minutes reading all the comments. Guess I'll be thrown in prison and banished from future Adam love because I agree it would have been a good thing for him to have at least said HELLO to his fans. Now I'm called an ADAM HATER!! Oh my. It's not that important to engender all this HATE and name calling just bcause someone doesn't agree with you. That is the antithesis of what Adam represents. Please think before you speak. What would Adam say.
You are very welcome Adam, it was my pleasure to give to Charity Water in your name for your BD. You took the time out of your busy BD weekend and seeing your new Godson and thought of us all in good time AS It SHOULD BE! Good luck at the Grammys.
Hey! What ever Adam did on his birthday, we all have done it before, who cares. He´s a humanbeing just like anyone of us. When I´m going to have my birthday, I´m going to play Adam´s songs out loud and sing along!!! Happy birthday Adam and may you live for ever more!!! And good luck in love (with Sauli or who ever) and in your life! -girl from Finland-
Let's put this into perspective for a moment. Take a deep breathe and listen to yourself for a moment. When fans are so invested in a star such as Adam; Expectations are high and some times unreasonable at times. He appreciates each and everyone of you believe me. He is a kind and gentle man. Saying that he IS human too. Caught up in the party, visitors, and baby Cherry being born he had a very eventful weekend. I too wonder "why haven't we heard from Adam"?...could it be he had not been informed of how the charity was doing until later after he woke up on Sunday. Do we really know? Do we have all our facts? We may never really know for sure how these events unfolded. Remember he wasn"t sitting at his computer or in the corner on his phone like we were. We were totally engaged in this goal to please our super star Adam because that is what a great fan base does. We have to expect that things do not always happen as we expect it. I had to work the day of his birthday so I could not go to the party 4 hours away. I was sad;but when I got home I was celebrating with other fans on line. I just had to accept things for what they were and move on. I think it is time to move on and be proud as a fan for what "we" as a fan based did. We are strong minded and faithful and fun and fabulous. Please do not let what someone did or did not do completly alter your joy of giving or your attitude toward someone like Adam who is just doing the best he can to please as many as possible. This is all new to him too. Put yourself in his place and try to understand what a roller coaster ride he has been on the past 2 years. He is just trying to live as normal of a life as possible. I hope in my own way I have calmed your fears and that in your heart you know how important you are as a fan of Adam Lambert. Let's focus on the music and what this was all about; donating in someones day for his birthday so others all around the globe can have drinking water. In these economic times this is huge and we as a fan base did it and we should all be proud of that. I hope you did it for the right reasons? Have a blessed day and never never think you are not appreciated. That just is not so!
Sorry. I'm late and shouldn't be here once this thread «seems to be» horrible (I didn't read the comments, only a few of them. But the venezuelan Glambert HH, who doesn't write English deserves our attention. So, here you go:

Well, I hope this quiets all the naysayers, who were upset that Adam hadn't responded. It was his birthday weekend, for God's sake, and he had a lot going on with his family and friends. We all KNEW that he would show his appreciation!! I gave to this charity for all the good reasons of helping people in need. And I now hope that those disgruntled fans are appeased.
For those who were demanding it, there ya go!
I knew Adam would tweet a thank you. <3 I had faith in him.
Wow do you think Adam reads this blogs comments? Maybe he saw all the complaints?
Either way, YOU'RE WELCOME ADAM. Happy Birthday!
Good. We deserved it.
LOL JK. Being sarcastic.
Thank you Adam for introducing me to Charity:water!
Thank all of you who donated as well :)
People who demand an instant thank you notes from Adam are embarrassment of the fanthom when a meaningful charity is still underway.
And by the way - GIVING GLAMBERTS ROCK!!!!
So sweet of Adam.
Mom from Toronto, Canada
The End!
Nice that Adam thanked his fans so some positivity here would be lovely.
very thoughtful of Adam. He keeps his fans in mind.
IreneRose
It's all GOOD peeps... no harm intended or done. Some people are just old school, believe I have to deal with one... it's OK :) Let it gooooo....
Anon7:16PM
Adam didn't demand that you give to this charity he politely asks that in lieu of birthday gifts that HIS FANS would send him to direct that money to this charity, it was up to the individual to give or not.
No...thank you...vs...NO CLEAN WATER.
It's really NOT ABOUT YOU.
@7:34
What time would have been OK with you? One hour earlier than he tweeted the thank you? Two hours? Three minutes? Seven seconds? Right after YOUR donation? Please.
Honestly. Right now I am ashamed to be part of this fan group.
IreneRose
YOU ROCK!
Hello peeps... you/we got your/our THANK YOU! Now, let's move on... shall we?‼ *better late than NEVER*
@ Irene rose
99.9% of people who come on this site are fans, just because somebody doesn't agree with something Adam wears of says doesn't mean they are not fans.I get really fed up with the fact that we are all expected to agree 100% of the time otherwise we're not true fans, and the reason most people sign anon if saying anything even slightly negative is because they're afraid of the backlash aimed at them.
Thank you IreneRose for your wise & true words.
Krismidas
I think some fans need to give Adam a break!
Next time, send a timer as gift. It is ridiculous.!!! Please!!!
Please what? Just shutup?
On that note... now I'm drained‼ *completely* tata
Good night, peeps. Adam, I love you, you have done a marvelous job for all of us.
yikes. please, now we have to compare Adam to other celebrities who tweet their 'fans' all the time and keep them updated... do people not have jobs, families, concern about all the issues in the world. they just worry about Adam not tweeting as much as Gaga or blah blah blah.
Sorry for the rant, but something beautiful was tainted by this pettiness. funbunn40
Funnbunn40
I fully agree. Something beautiful was tainted by this pettiness.
Perfectly said.
You know what kind of drives me nuts? People who can't think for themselves. Fans who use Adam's phrases like:
Entitlement isn't Sexy
or
It Ain't that Deep
or
Whatever other phrase
Oh Shut the fuck up! Entitled bitches!
Very diplomatic Anon 10:18. I couldn't agree more.
Way too much negativity on this site. I'm gone.
Rowena
Your 29 Adam....maybe you lost sight of who put
you where you are....I and a lot of people never heard of my charity water...so don't say you were giving just to give...you gave because of Adam.....and WE did a AMAZING job...THANK YOU to everybody that gave....
(...Deep sigh....)
@12.08
nobody that commented about Adam not replying sooner said it in a bad way, nobody called each other bitches as @10.17 did, all they, we did, was express a bit of disappointment that he hadn't acknowledged (it didn't even have to be thanks, just an acknowledgment} about the amazing amount being donated, keep it up etc. and no its not entitlement, just courtesy. and @8.47, nobody is still complaining about Adam, we're all very happy and satisfied that he's sent a message, its the fact that we get called Bitches and told to shut the fuck up, get off the site etc because we can't be real fans because we dare to say our opinion that we're still moaning about.
And to anon @10.18, well said you said what I was trying to say, but you said it much better.
HK fan
With all the respect,
I hate to say it, but I think all the "whiners" have a valid point.
Pictures of Adam with his godson Riff is out on Cherry's facebook. Go and find it. It's is adorable.
If Adam's PR people, family or friends had checked on water charity or donated someone would have known what a GREAT JOB we did Saturday.....I don't know about RCA or his PR people..I guess they are just looking out for themselves $$$$$$$
I'm getting pass this now....but it will leave a dent in my Prince's armour....
Make that a ding...because I still think he has the most amazing vocals....
I can imagine Adam scanning through his tweets:
"GO AND DIE YOU FAT UGLY FAGGOT"
"I WISH SOMEONE WOULD CHOP YOUR HEAD OFF WITH A CHAIN SAW YOU FAG ASS BITCH"
"Why don´t you say thank you? Don´t forget who put you where you are"
"Have you no manners? Say THANK YOU! I donated more than I can afford"
"ALL FAGGOTS SHOULD DIE A PAINFUL DEATH"
"BURN IN HELL YOU UGLY CRATER FACED FAG!"
"You said thank you to Perez, why not me? Are we fans not important to you?"
I don´t know the exact words, but the hate tweets we have seen, and I guess he gets loads of them. Would you like to read things like that on your birthday or would you put the whole twitter shit aside for a coulple of days?
If I give a bd-present to a friend, I don´t expect a thank you for at least a week. Why should I expect it from Adam? This fandom is crazy. Some of you loves to pick him apart, his hair is wrong, his clothes, his friends, his boyfriend, his manners. Oh, I don´t know. I just get tired.
Eva
Let's please please just stop!!
i agree with one comment above
THE END!!!!!!!! STOP!!!!!!
Love thru Adam,
Bing
There are some resident Adam haters here.
Like always, everywhere.
We shuld ignore these haters.
Yeah, ignore them like Adam said. Well,
posts like these, just ignore them, right? Keep positive. I have been here for almost a year, those comments do not affect me anywhere. But its everywhere.
Moving on to what's important and beautiful.. Photos of Adam and Riff.
I wish I knew how to bring them over...
Go to idolforum under Adam Lambert and then go to his picture thread, yon can find the adorable picture of Adam and Riff.

to all above.....you all just keep feeding the fire...time to grow up and move on!!!
OMG, thank you so much, Eva, for the link. This is just TOO ADORABLE! Is this gorgeousness or what.
pg

@Eva
Yes, thanks for posting it, yours was the one I used!

What would Adam say.
i've been saying The End for days now....some people just think they to be heard over and over again...go do something worth while!
10:50 Follow your own advice. You keep it going with that sarcastic comment.
You are very welcome Adam, it was my pleasure to give to Charity Water in your name for your BD. You took the time out of your busy BD weekend and seeing your new Godson and thought of us all in good time AS It SHOULD BE! Good luck at the Grammys.
Adam was really busy partying, fcuking and getting drunk. Let's put this in perspective.
@2:32
Oh you were there? How nice! So you can tell us what happened, yes?

Amen funbunn40
Funbunn4 Thank you for your excellent real análisis.

8:32pm great post thanks
Sorry. I'm late and shouldn't be here once this thread «seems to be» horrible (I didn't read the comments, only a few of them. But the venezuelan Glambert HH, who doesn't write English deserves our attention. So, here you go:

«Lets celebrate that ADAM LAMBERT is a highly humanitarian [man] and that through his successful [career] he has the wonderful opportunity to offer help on a larger scale, due to the support from his loyal followers.
This must be the sense of a sincere love, if [receiving] nothing in change [of it], that turns into positive energies to respond to life in an affirmative way, showing solidarity to our fellow human beings. If there is something to receive in change it is to contribute to the existence of a better quality of life and to the spiritu's enrichment.
Thank you to @ Bing for her reflexive analysis. HH»
