According to AZGlamFan on Twitter, looks like the chance of Adam performing on the 'Grammy Awards' next week isn't going to happen.

AZGlamFan Said:

"Someone that works with Grammy's, inside the organization said that Grammy sets were finalized today...and Adam Lambert is not performing at Grammy's, may still be presenting."

Not a big surprise.

Not a big surprise, but certainly disappointing. I really miss the daily videos from performances and interviews. I sure hope he gets busy writing some songs! :)

If Adam is presenting, that may be a good sign he just might take the grammy. In some cases you may see a presenter win!! With all of his accomplishments in such a short time, buzz going on around the world about Adam Lambert & his GNT, it only makes sense that he does win!!
My faith is in the universe, the stars & the moons.

I have faith in Adam!!

BUMMER‼ what's up with friggin award shows?‼ They need ratings right? Viewers WANNA see great acts & great performers, like ADAM LAMBERT = ratings thru the roof‼ Does NOT take a GENIUS to figure this out! I wanna see Adam perform or OK, even as a presenter... this well do, but not ideal. HELLO‼... can anybody hear me :(( *SIGH*
Anyway, I'll just stare at this pic above & my frustration goes away... it's the cutest thing everrr‼ :)

Well, not really surprised. Still paying pennance, but if he wins, he'll get his foot in the door and think tv will get over being so skittish. Think they don't want any static from the conservative mouths! He still needs to gather more mainstream fans and it may take this second album to do it. The GNT was a very positive gain and he just needs some positive visibility showing his devastating charm and radiant smile to melt some more hearts. Getting nominated is a great step forward. He's also really looking good with new hairstyle and natural look. Love the baby pics with Adam> He looks so comfy with Riff. Such happiness for the Cherrys and so many good friends to share Riff's entry into this world. Lucky baby!! funbunn40

Well too bad for The Grammys. I hope he at least presents; or, if not, the cameras would pan on him seating and enjoying the show. Most of all I hope he wins the award. I bought The Grammys CD. Listened to other nominees and by far his voice is million times better than the guys in his category. I hope the voters base their pick solely on vocal performance and nothing else. If they do Adam can win it, IMO.

Anonymous said...

I hope he wins the award then. I live in hope.

Anonymous said...

Not surprised, but that just ain't right. I bet Adam will give an awesome speech though if he wins and he'll make us all cry.

Adam will have a blast just enjoying the show and his fellow music peers. I sure hope he presents, but will be happy if they show him arriving and pan him a lot.

Also, please note that AZGlamFan is urging people NOT to complain or send nasty emails to the Grammys...it will not help Adam or his career.

Fingers crossed for him to present an award..and to win the Grammy!

Not surprised at all but Adam has achieved a lot in short period of time. We still can see him on the red carpet.
Adam looks very happy with Sauli in his arm. Now I can say he is not alone anymore. Hope he find the love of his life. If he is happy, I am happy for them. From now on, we have two cuties to look at. He!He!

This picture of Adam+baby is now my favorite. I hope he will be holding his own new born some day. He'd be a fab-dad/mom!

The Grammy's don't get IT. Adam would truly be the vocal stunner of the night imo. You don't have to be a fan to appreciate his vocals and I know many who are not true-blue fans but they cannot deny that when he sings...you stop and listen because he is THAT good!

i agree, adam is still being penalized. it is a shame he will not perform but when will they ever forget the AMA incident?

Anonymous said...

We do not know, for a fact, that Adam is still "paying penance" and being "penalized" for the AMA's. So why put that negativity out there? Why not just celebrate his nomination, which is such an incredible honor? All kinds of politics go into these awards shows -- not just vindictiveness.
Can't we just be happy for Adam?

So disappointed that Adam will not peform. He is the best vocal talent in the music industry today and not to have him perform is absolutely ridiculous. Will be looking for him on the red carpet, in the audience, perhaps as a presenter, but most of all winning that Grammy. That would be the best reward for all the hard work Adam has done on tour with songs from FYE and, of course, WWFM. Overall I do not like the Grammy show; it is filled with terrible performances, crude behvior, inarticulate speeches, etc. But I will watch it just to catch glimpses of Adam Lambert.

I hope we get to see Adam on the Grammys. Its a start for him. At least he got a nomination. We need to remain positive. Some stars like Elvis and Michael Jackson had to break down barriers in the beginning but came out victorious in their overall career. Adam is much too talented and charming to be overlooked. Long live Adam!!!

Grammy had to make room for two greatest artist to preform: Justin Bieber with Jaden Smith, so no time for Adam.
Hope he will be a presenter.

They are afraid of Adam person and the influence he has. They know that his personality is captivating and can attract millions of fans, so while they can boycott him will do that. Fans should continue to give him their support day after day.

How can they consider Jaden Smith music?????

Is this Nickoleon?

You would think the Grammys would go to people that can sing?

It can't be record sales because Susan Boyle was snubbed also....

This is why people like independent movies...talent!!!!!!

Thanks to all for these great finds, articles, videos etc. I have a question regarding Sauli, maybe Finnish friends can answer if it is not known here in the US. Is he or was he a dancer prior to his TV shows? He looks quite good on the few pictures we see of him.

Adam's time will come! I think his 2nd album will be great and will expand both his fanbase and the level of respect he receives from the music industry. That is when we will see him perform on award shows.

In the meantime, we just have to shrug off the fact that "bubblegum" celebrities like Beiber will get performance spots because they bring in millions of tween viewers AND their parents. For the award shows, it's all about getting the right "mix" of viewers.

I really do think we will see Adam's career continue to build over many years, and he will become a widely respected artist. Beiber, on the other hand, may very well see his career tank as his young fans grow up and move on to more sophisticated music.

Let's keep the faith, and know that things will work out in the long run for our very talented, beautiful and magical ARTIST!

Cheers! Krismidas

True, we have to make room for Willow and the big singer Gweneth Paltrow (love her as an actress, but not singer) and all the trash. And probably MJs little sad faced family. We should have pushed the Grammy people and not these rigged polls like Fuse and whatever. At least for a presentation. Uncool on their part.

Anonymous said...

BTW, I really don't think the award shows are still snubbing Adam because of the AMA's. If anything, I think he is bearing some stigma from having come onto the scene via American Idol, which isn't taken seriously in a lot of music circles, including pop and (especially) rock. Apparently it is much "cooler" to be discovered on the internet or by an established music producer.

I really believe that Adam will steadily gain the respect and fanbase he deserves in the U.S. It will just take some time.

(Won't we all look super smart because we recognized his talent and star power from the very beginning!!!) :)

Aww -disappointed-

Love u Adam xox!

Anonymous said...

Krismidas, I think "they" are still upset about the ama thing. They are paying attention to Adam and everything he says and does. They can see he is not remorseful abut the ama's. They saw the GNT and the making out on stage with Tommy Joe Ratliff. They are not going to let him NEAR a stage with a national television audience until he has completely changed his act and attitude. They know his main audience is middle aged to older straight women. I know there are other fans, but this is his core fan base. We are not that important to them. The younger audience is. They are sending a very punctuated message to Adam. They are saying "we think you are talented. See, we nominated you. But you have to play by our rules! Do it and we'll let you in. Don't, and you're out for good!" I say they'll wait and see how the songs on the 2nd album sound, look at some low key performances, listen to his attitude in promotional interviews, and , I'm sorry to say, if they don't see an acquiescence on Adam's part to their point of view, this and a few other internet sites will be the only places that will care about what he is doing.

Anonymous said...

I'm so disappointed - really wanted Adam to perform so he could blow everyone away with his gorgeous voice, looks, charm....but I agree with several posters, I think after his sophomore album which is destined to be great 'cause Adam is going to write a lot of it himself (heard a rumor that he may be collaborating with Orianthi)he may gain more respect from the music industry. As much as I desperately want to see Adam perform let's keep in mind that others in his category are also not performing such as John Mayer and Michael Buble.

Adam has done phenomenal things in a very short time and he has such unbelievable talent, I think we should all keep on doing what we're doing by giving him support and love in everything we can on a daily basis. The nomination for the Grammy is such an honor in and of itself as well as being included on the 2011 Grammy CD (which I received yesterday). I have complete faith that his career will continue to see tremendous success and his fame will be undeniable.

As for the Grammy Award Show...well I'll be watching for sure just in hopes to see Adam walk down the Red Carpet and wait for the win!

Just call me fed up with the bulshit. I am a Glambert through and through and thank God we are all dedicated to Adam. We Glamberts can cling to hope that someday Adam will be recognized for the true talent he is; I am hoping it happens soon. I will watch the Red Carpet in hopes of seeing a glimpse of Adam but will DVR the Awards, my heart just can't take it that he won't be performing.

Anonymous said...

I wish Adam was performing, but could it be that he will blow everyone so far out of the water it scares the industry. Look how American Idol will never be the same. Oh well if or should I be positive and say when Adam wins I am going to jump through the roof!

Anonymous said...

Adam needs to be a presenter!! He will bring his gorgeous style and chrisma that clearly is UNMATCHED! I hope he keeps his recent "look" which is soo masculine and handsome. Since he will not be performing he can just "kick-back" and clearly ENJOY the evening!

Who knows -- maybe Sauli will still be in town and attend as his date! There are soo many peer performers that really respect and LOVE Adam!! He soo deserves the honor of WINNING the Grammy! His vocal performance is stellar on WWFM! No one even comes close!

Just seeing how happy Adam is with Sauli - arm in arm is just terrific! Hope this will be the real deal for both of them!

I think it's better this way. He can grab the award and enjoy the show without responsibilities. Last year he was working and didn't see any of the performances.

Anonymous said...

Just saw Grammy commercial featuring performers JB, Katy etc but no Adam mention on the TV in Canada. However, they use WWFM for the whole commercial as the background music maybe they just use it to attract ratings, don't know. Keep the finger and toes cross.

I read a critical piece about Adam on the net a while ago, but unfortunately I don't remember the link. The title was "Adam Lambert the Pavarati (not sure of spelling) of Pop. So there might be something in some of the posts about him upsetting the status quo. A lot of the top people in pop right now aren't the best singers etc.

Anonymous said...

@9:19 as much as it breaks my heart adam's not performing, I think you have a very valid point why he is not. I don't want to think that way because adam being true to himself is what makes him so special, but I think these conservative suits definetly do not see it that way at all.

GRAMMY PICK THE WRONG PERFORMERS ; DINT USE THIER BRAIN WHOEVER MAKE A DECISION OVER THERE. GRAMMY THINK TWICE STILL HAVE TIME TO INVITE ADAM LAMBERT WHO PERFORM EVEN JUST ONE SONG. U HEAR GRAMMY?

Anonymous said...

The grammys big announcement that they have waited to tell us is Gweneth Paltrow is performing with some muffets.. Good lord, shouldn't she be on the oscars instead. I guess they really want the tween audience this year.

Anonymous said...

The AMA performance is still leaving a bad taste in the mouths of t.v. executives. They won't take a chance, because of what might happen. I don't see him sticking the tongue to anyone if he sings WWFM. Grammy awards ratings will probably sufffer because of it.

I'm so tired of the way the word "conservative" is used on this site. I know conservative ladies who understand and appreciate AML and are big fans.

There are many conservative politicians who have gay members of their family and love everybody the same.

So enough already!

Anonymous said...

Yes, not all conservatives are narrow minded people. Extremists are a problem..

Anonymous said...

@9:19, I certainly respect your opinion, and you may be right that there is still some backlash from the AMA's. But I really do think the Grammy's select their performers with the goal of maximizing their audience and getting the demographic "mix" their advertisers are looking for. (I used to work in advertising, so I know something about audience demographics.) The limited number of performance slots are most likely reserved for artists who are nominated for the most visible awards like "Song of the Year" and "Album of the Year", plus the "artists" that will bring in young viewers(Beiber, Drake, Willow, etc.). There's a lot of strategizing that goes into these shows, and its mostly about advertising dollars.

Anon 9:19, I agree with you on all counts. It rightly summarizes the current situation, I am afraid.
I am particularly interested in addressing one issue you raised. I wish to understand why it is that Adam does not have a larger following amongst younger crowds in the States. And amongst gays, for that matter. Seems to me that elsewhere in the world, and certainly in France, he sustains the interest of legions of young people, gays and straights. Probably even more so than older people. Weren't his concert-goers much younger in Asia and the rest of Europe? Why is it that in the United States, mostly the middle-age women groups seem to "get it" and "get him", recognize his talent massively and appreciate his out-of-the-ordinary character? What is preventing the same youngsters who worship and flock to the concerts of the likes of Kesha, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga to show the same enthusiasm for Adam who is as talented if not more talented than they are?

Would you say it has to do primarily with his lack of wide representation in the media? But is his representation in the foreign media more developed than in the States? Or is it better managed, less mocking, less contemptuous and less dismissive perhaps?
Couldn't be his ways, or do we have to consider the possibility that young people in the States are less open-minded than their older peers? I don't believe that. I just think the young are not aware. Not made aware, that is. Do most of them know his name, who he is, any of his songs even besides "Whataya Want from Me"?

It is absolutely wonderful that Adam has such a large, strong, fiercely devoted and supportive fandom amongst middle-age ladies, but he must reach other groups too in order to get where he wants to be. I guess it is up to his current fandom, middle-aged and young together (but mostly middle-age) to make enough noise supporting his talent so the media starts to pay attention. Problem is, is this a catch-22, is Adam getting labeled as the "old-ladies star" in the process therefore not taken seriously by the press and snubbed by a younger public?

Your thoughts? I hope foreign fans contribute to this discussion as well. I personally would love to find out how exactly is Adam perceived in their respective country.

Parisiangirl

Not performing, not presenting, not even going to be there.

"Old ladies star" from 11:37. Well better than than catering to 12 year olds. Who is labeling him other than you 11:37? Adam's music needs to make the difference. How would you label Subo, and she's set records in sales? How about David A., David Cook? Allison I? Xtina? Doughtry? No one is doing much except a few at the very top. There is no problem. Adam is a true celebrity and well respected.

Grammys are nice but not essential. Take a step back and look what he's accomplished. PLUS, he's a huge international personality. He's much more than his music, which he may or may not want. But it is what it is. He is a force, so let's stop with the obsession about Grammys and look what he's done in a short time. He's a vocal genius, so I expect an super album.

Adam really sings his songs they want auto tune perfomances they can quickly get of and on the stage. Adams day will come..he will have to work twic as hard to get what he deservse. All good things come to who work their butts off.

There is so much witten here about Adam Lambert and his not performing at the Grammys and the basis of his American fans being middle aged women. Everyone has an opinion about anything concerning Adam and his music, his hair, his friends, his love life, etc. He just seems to intrigue people with his edgy style, magnificent voice, and handsome appearance. It is great to read so much about him in this blog, but it is also sad to see him so criticized, analyzed, envied, etc. I don't know how he can stand it having all this come at him in such a short period of time with the success of his GNT. I doubt that many outside of his fanbase really know much about the tour and his great success internationally. There are no interviews, tv appearances or even another single from the FYE album. It's all Bieber, Katy Perry, Pink, Gaga everytime you turn on the radio. I can't tell you the last time I heard WWFM since it is very seldom played. Here is Adam Lambert the most talented vocal performer in the music industry and yet somehow he seems to be ignored for some 12 year old screaming and whipping her hair around. I guess this is the music listening/i tunes demographic today. I suppose Adam will eventually have his day; it may not be as soon as most of us would like, but the time will come when he will be recognized as the charismatc, articulate, talented individual that he is. For me he is an awesome performer both musically and visually and his audience connection is pure electricity.

@12:06, all 11:37 was trying to say is why ISN'T he as highly promoted as K. Perry or J. Beiber. She(?) even said that she thought he was as or even MORE talented than the performers they have slated at the Grammy's. She was looking for a dialogue of possible answers to her questions. She wanted to hear our opinions. Why did you attack her? Yes, I agree that he is a vocal "genius" as you put it. That's precisely why she wants to know why he doesn't have the same large fan bases as the ones she mentioned?
I'd like to know why too.

Some of Adam's fans are like horses that have to have blinders put on - They lose it completely when others(even other fans!!!!) don't agree ABSOLUTELY with their vision of Adam.

Obviously, SOMETHING is not right about the situation. Adam should be garnering the kind of attention Beiber and others are getting. She just wanted to start a dialogue about why that is not happening.

Was at Walmart today--always get my dog food, etc. Not a single copy of Crystal Bowersox in sight, a few of Lee DeWise, and only one left of FYE. My point, last two years Walmart has had an entire section devoted to AI and Season 8 albums, all highly visible. Does this kind of answer the question about why Adam not as promoted as other artists. Compared to what S9 promotions, S8 were given a much bigger exposure. Not surprised Adam not performing--the show is short and I am sure they are highlighting artists with more than one nomination. Adam is currently trending all over the net today--shows him with Sauli. Very nice pictures.

I hope he does the red carpet. He photographs so well and I love his fashion styles.
I have enjoyed watching the Glam Nation concerts so much this year, it is going to seem an eternity till we see him perform again. I think that is why his fans really want him to be on the Grammys. I don't think it is about recognition as much as just wanting to see anything new from Adam Lambert. We have been really spoiled by the videos on YouTube.

If Adam will release 2 or 3 singles from FYE, make as less one more music video he will get much more fame, recognitions and fans. People need to hear Adam's voice more often.

Parisiangirl, I was at the Paradiso Amsterdam concert and it was all young people. In countries like the Netherlands Adam is perceived as an Underground Cult Rocker and him being so OTT Gay during his shows is an added bonus, the crazier the better!Adam said himself it was because the internet and twitter that his concerts sold out most of them being held in the alternative venue circuit. Personally that is where I like to see the most but I do understand that is not how he sees his future as a succesfull recording artist. I am not sure where the bridge will be that will get him to that point. A lot of it will depend on that second album.
For now I do think that something like a surprise performance can light the fire again for some people who are starting to wander. Unfortunately this is a reality.

I've been to several GNT concerts and there were people of all ages, races and genders, A lot of fans in 20's and 30's as well as teens. I think the older women fans dominating his concerts is somewhat overblown and exaggerated. Think it had so much press because it's an oddity for older fans to be so enraptured and supportive to a pop/rock artist. He's awakened and lit a fire over a generation that hasn't seen or heard anyone that exciting since Elvis. I happen to be one of them and had forgotten how much I loved music until Adam knocked my socks off! He still needs more exposure from the entertainment media and agree he needs another FYE single to keep him in the public eye, but he does have young fans that support and love him. I've met a lot of really great kids at the venues. funbunn40
