To those who felt a need to critique the judges response to Adam in a previous post...I think this video clip clearly explains that it had nothing to do with our beloved Adam as some jumped to conclude. Elimination is a hard night emotionally on judges and contestants alike. Rough job to crush someone's dreams.

And Adam was superb...in voice, personality and presentation! As always.

So obviously the new judges aren't used to America voting for the contestants and they are attached to these contestants and hard for them to see the talents they sort of picked to go home. Plus they are studying the AI Alumni. First one being Adam. Adam's performance was great. Hope radios get to play his remix. Are you requesting your local radio stations to play it?

I bet it gets very emotional on elimination night and the judges get attached to these contestants and nuture them along the way. The judges have nothing but admiration for Mr. Lambert and his talent. I really like JLo and Steven this season.

The judges aren't crushing anyone's dreams, it's the voters. To be honest, I think the judges realize that in the real world, some of the singers don't have what it takes - I don't think the judges care so deeply especially in these early rounds.

I wonder how many of the past seasons Jaylo and ST have studied or even watched? Had they seen Adam in the competitions like we have, knowing every small detail of each week? Also if the night was that hard for ST, he seemed to manage the energy to stand up for Diddy! I'm not buyin it..

I don't believe Jennifer and Steven "get" what their job is. It's to be a JUDGE not a best friend to the contestants. Not to grieve when someone has to go....the public just didn't think they were good enough to make it in the business.

I agree with former commenter....Have the two of them ever seen the show?.............JAK

I agree with most of what's been said above. However, if "the public just didn't think they were good enough to make it in the business", then why didn't Adam win the title?? Because most EVERYONE thought Adam should win because he WAS and IS good enough to make it in the business - as he has proven. So, the public isn't always reasonable in their assumptions and voting. Guess, mostly it was because they were homophobes. Go figure -

JLO & ST have been in the business for years and they perform in real life and do not want to crush someone's dream vs the AI public.

AI watchers judge everyone and everybody and if you don't see what they see it's a load of crap.

Truthfully, does it matter if they've seen the show since the viewers select the winner and we see how that's worked out in real world sales for the winners the past couple of years.

So it appears the AI voting public doesn't know what it takes to make it in the business.

Adam is so beautiful as always. Incredible facial features! Beautiful personality! and the Voice, oooh, THE Voice!

Sorry, but I don't believe this video excuses the judges' behavior after Adam's performance. They don't know these contestants personally, nor do they eliminate them... America votes. We are all judged all the time, as was Adam on the show - by the contestants themselves, by the studio audience, the viewing audience at home, and by the judges, who acted completely dismissive and bored. ST found enough energy to give Diddy a standing O, however. Hmmmff.

Gah, don't get me started! It is now widely accepted that Kris won because of the phone scandal. I know everytime I voted for Adam, a recording came on saying thank you for voting for Kris. Also, this phone tampering made it possible to vote 100 times in one vote. I thought we were all past that now, but it seems some people don't know about it?? It was not humanly possible for that many votes to come from Arkansas given its population. (Even the babies would have had to voted thousands of times..)

I agree the judges acted dismissive and bored. I could just slap them. I think it is important to know whether they had ever watched the season 8 because they might have appreciated who it was standing there singing for them!

agree with up.
and adam seems lose some weight:) good for him. it's perfect!

I am tired of this Fake Idol Judges...Ugh! Don't they know that it is obvious when they deliver that it was all scripted? Such phonies!

Another thing to mention is that Adam sang one of Aerosmith's song, Cryin'. I remember the radio killed playing that song for zillion times. Who knows how many of this song were sold in 2009. Out of respect at least ST should've given Adam an enthusiastic applause. Didn't expect it from JLo cause I remember she liked Allison on that season. I definitely won't be watching AI and will get my updated AI show from my twitter feed. Don't like any of the contestants since their performances are pre-recorded so AI can easily manipulate their sound to make their show more fascinating to the viewers at home.

Keep reading all over the net how healthy Adam looked. I didn't notice a lot of difference in his appearance. He has looked fantastic every picture I have seen lately. Must be love. Think the judges should know their critique of each singer has a positive or negative impact on the judging. If they don't they need to go back and look at past seasons. BTW, Tommy looked pretty cute also. Monte hiding under that hat...think that is so R&R, and Isaac looked very different with his shirt on.

Woaw, thank you anon 3:58 - It is now in my favorites.

I can't help myself, I miss Longineau terribly.
He and Adam were so in sync and his hands on drumsticks or drums was perfection.

My favorite of Adam's various "groups" were Monte, Longineau and Zak on piano. Smooth or groovy. (That's a phrase that dates me). JAK

I also miss LP. He is such a natural talent and seemed to have a sixth sense with Adam, especially when Adam changes it up. I like Isaac personally and he's fine, but think LP is truly gifted. The judges still have to deliver the bad news and they're human. They've had their share of rejection in their early days and its's tough to send them home. funbunn40

I know Jlo has commented that she has always been a big AI fan. Remember when she told one of the top 24 girls I think it was, that she remembered her from one or two years ago?

jlo always favours latina/latino contestants. i remember last AI8, she and her husband defended Jorge Nunez from puerto rico, first round eliminated. now, i think, she is rooting for another latine contestant (forgot the name) who patronized selena and jlo herself.

lol, "the lord high doodle dumb of singage" ... greatest thing I've heard all day

if Tyler hadnt stood up for that diddy guy, then I might agree with you saying his reaction to adam was . . . blah blah blah. well, he did stand up so your conclusion is wrong. The judges should stand up after any guest performs, not just adam, so bottom line was that they were all rude. feeling sad since this was elimination nite???? You all are in such denial!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Well now I didn't see Steven stand up for Diddy I changed channels as soon as Adam left!.......

But there may have been unknown reasons he stood, he is getting up there in years maybe he just needed to ease his knees (they do lock up I know from experience) or he may have needed to rearrange "things" (I know that from 75 years of observing men)!...............JAK

@3:58, Thanks for that incredibly comprehensive list of Adam's performances.Hope it never goes away, as I'll want to refer to it time and time again! funbunn40
