Great pics! I really think that Adam not performing tonight was great for his career. In the twitter world (worldwide!), people were tweeted that they wanted to see him and hear him. There's so much anticipation from everyone (including the media) for his 2nd CD. Not singing tonight created a much higher demand. Exclusivity. And there are pics and interviews from tonight. That's what was needed.

I guess this was a good workout for Sauli, to see if he can continue to handle being with a super star. Actually this was small in comparson to what to expect next year, when Adam will be a MEGA MEGA star. I hope he can handle it, plus also leaving his country and close family. Waiting to see what Adam has in mind for Sauli when the tour starts. He could do Laines job :)

glad adam made peace with carrie underwood. if you recall he nominated carrie as the worst dressed during 2010 grammy awards and carrie did not like it.

Great to see these pics of Adam and Sauli who just quietly remains in the background. If you blinked, you missed the shot of Adam in the audience at the opening of AI. Glad to hear he is enthusiastic about his second album; we are all waiting for it so anxiously. The AI finale show was underwhelming for me. Most of the performers were nothing special, just plugging something esp. Bono and SPIDERMAN show. And Tom Jones, come on. Gaga was all right until she started gyrating up there with the male dancer. Even Beyonce was off with that new song of hers. The best pairing was Scotty with Tim McGraw. The male contestants as a group did not blend well at all because each one's voice is just so different. The girls are a lot better. It will be interesting to see how the group does out on tour. I don't know how much interest there is in seeing them perform. So now it's on to the VOICE and then the XFactor in the fall.

Love all the pictures. See where he was interviewed by several networks. Noticed Fox, E, MTV and AI, sure others were there also. Nice picture of his and Carrie. Idol stick together. Was hoping Kris would be there so he and Adam could have a reunion. That would have been cool.

thedarkside..Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta were both there, hope they all got together. I love the pics of Adam and Sauli holding hands. I think that we are witnessing a first, as far as a love story between two men being played out in public, its just inspiring.I dont ever remember seeing that with new love in such a public way.Adam never ceases to amaze me.Twitter is going crazy, i cant even keep up.

am I missing something? I saw one short glimse of adam in the beginning- no one saw this red-carpet event- meaning millions watching- in fact every one I knew had no idea adam was even there!! Then when I heard Tom jones sing and tony bennet and who-ever what-ever all I could think of is we have the best vocal performer in america today and he just sitting in the audience- which they never showed. Disappointed all around with finale- the worst in idol history and I've NEVER missed an episode. Lauren should of won. The highlight was for me beyonce was great- steve tyler was great for his 63 yrs of age and loved U2 and carrie Underwood blew lauren away with her vocals. Sorry to be so judgemental but this was not a great finale, better than last night but they should of had adam sing instead of all the old fuddy duddy's WTF and why was jenifer lopaz husband up there singing. These pictures are great of BB but no one saw them or him!!! Adam or any other past idol for that matter was showcased what-so-ever tonight- just weird singers and old-fashion songs

Sorry- I'm venting because I am such a idol fan from day 1- 10 years ago and to me this kind-of sucked!!! Finale should of been haley and james and thee choce of entertainers was really weird to me!!!

Does anyone think saul looked totally intimated in the red carpet thing. He just looks so out of place- I hope he doesn't ever hold bb back. Just sayin he did not look comfortable to me at all. Of course I'm looking for every stupid detail and probably making too much out of it.

I agree that the program was boring. And they should have talked to Adam. But then, they didn't talk to Kris Allen or Lee or Crystal from last year, so I guess you have to be PC.
Agree that Sauli did not wear pants to fit the occasion. The interesting thing is that Adam did not correct him and let him do his thing - this could be a good move in a relationship. First pics of Sauli looking not cheerful while he is waiting for Adam's interviews. We don't see his serious face very often. Very cute with the eyeliner.

Personally I think Sauli is doing great. Staying back, he knows this is all about Adam.
If Adam gives him all the loving I think he is giving him Sauli will feel confident and secure. It is not so much what happens in the public eye but what happens in the private.
Of course holding hands with Adam on the Red Carpet of American Idol must have felt frikkin fantastic!!

When other stars are interviewed, their spouses are usually close to their side. It might have been nice to stay together on the red carpet as well.

well adam has said this is work on these red carpet things and he definietly needs to promote himself anyway he can, unfortunetly bb is not anywhere the stasis he should be so he HAS to IMO take every opportunity to promote himself regardless of sauli. I think Adam and Sauli look great together, holding hands and looking very much in love. Sauli looks happy, perhaps just a little shy, and doesn't look unhappy at all, but no doubt is quite amazed to be there.. And his pants are fashionable, even with the holes.. This is AI and LA. No tuxes required. Just my opinion. I suppose the hand holding will be the topic of conversation tomorrow in the gossip columns, but when has Adam not sparked conversation? He is always going to be at the forefront of breaking barriers. One of the reasons I admire him so much. Inspiring and courageous. And in Love... : )

My husband just said something similar..Gaga and simulated sex on a show that was well before 11:00 PM. That didn't bother us but thinking back to Adam and the AMA's..the old double standard.. I bet Adam was thinking the same thing....

Sauli would look kind of silly standing on the red carpet,alone, grinning. He is waiting for Adam. No reason he should be smiling. He was probably bored standing off to the side. I know I would have been. That's why Adam said he didn't like taking a date to work related events, ...because it IS work. And really, there is no reason that Sauli should be standing with Adam while he is being interviewed. They are dating (even if they are living together - assumption). When they announce that the relationship is on a life partner level or they do marry, then it would be appropriate for Sauli to stand with him when being interviewed. IMO For now, it is very sweet that they were holding hands. It's like a little more is revealed each day. I love it. It's a little bit of a tease for the fans. As they move forward in their relationship, a little more is revealed to us.

I missed the end of the Gage performance. Simulated sex? Suicides? What? I suspect no one will complain to the network, or be shocked. Adam is probably just shaking his head right now.

And I don't mind Sauli's torn pants. He looked nice. Adam looked beautiful as always.

And to the spoiler above... :) ...it was MY fault for coming online before the show was over. I told myself - Don't do it! - but I couldn't stay away from 24/7. LOL

Thank you 24/7 Admin! All the Adam photos on AI red carpet are wonderful; would have loved to hear his voice on a video instead of just an audio. Adam looks sooo handsome, his hair and smile. The Adam and Carrie Underwood photo melts my heart because I used to listen to Carrie sing, especially Jesus Take The Wheel which made me tear but when Adam came along, I stopped listening to her altogether.

Don't get all the hate on Saulis trousers. I thought he looked good, perfect for the event. After all, they were only sitting in the audience of a TV show of a singing competition, it wasn't the Oscars. A suit would have been too much.

Thought the show was great! Liked the new format. Would have liked to see more of Adam in the audience though. He looked gorgeous in the picture with Carrie.

Loved the interview (even if the clip is too small to see Adam up close and personal) AND great photos too. Adam looks soooo handsome. Lane is in a couple of the photos too.

I think fans complaining to the network won't help Adam's career if a double standard is the focus. Better to just comment on Gaga's performance in general without mentionning Adam.

I am a huge Sauli fan.
But I thought the outfit was mis-matched - a suit look from the waist up. Better to have worn pants not so torn- I know it wasn't formal, but most people were pretty dressed up.
They do make a really hot couple though!

If anyone noticed on those interviews ONLY stars were picked not their BF/GF not even husbands , There was interview of Naima too and she mentioned that her husband is over there to the reporters and they just waved to him and after the interview they just told her to go back to her husband. I believe they wanted to stay focused in quick interviews and not so much babbling as there were a lot stars to be interviewed, with all babbling time would had run out too quickly.

I don't know that anyone is going to complain to the networks about Gaga..I'm not. And as you say, there would be no point in dragging Adam back into that whole situation. I think the comments here were just mentioning that if that had been Adam instead of Gaga (as my hubby said), there would have been all sorts of pearl-clutching going on. The AMA's are old news and what is exciting is that we have Adam and Sauli holding hands on the Red Carpet..Beautiful to see these two men in love, publicly and unashamedly. Adam has moved onto bigger and better things and the past is the past, and its definitely better to just move on. Much more fun to flail about these two gorgeous guys!

Kris Allen and Katy was there sitting behind Adam and Sauli I. They talked to each other on every commercial break. There was also a lot of fuss around Adam on commercial breaks. People coming up to him getting autographs. He was very gracious and nice as usual.
Adam and Sauli holding hands on the red carpet made me teary eyed. I don´t know, but has any gay couple in US done that before these two?
Perhaps someone knows and can fill me in on that? I´m sure there will be a lot of hateful comments about this from ignorant morones, but Adam is pushing boundaries and will be apart of the change in attitudes. God damn it, he´s a HERO!!

I watched HOPING that Adam would perform or they would show him in the audience a lot . That of course didn't happen,but Steven Tyler put everyone to shame. He is AMAZING!!! Adam already performed on AI this year so the chances of him performing again this year would've been extremely slim. Does the reigning AI winner ever perform at the AI grand finale? I haven't watched AI every year.

Maybe Gaga will eventually just "simulate" herself right over the edge of the stage. In interviews, she really seems like a decent young person but on stage she seems like a train wreck waiting to happen. She is utterly defiant, based on legitimate concerns of hypocrisy but defiance is a slippery slope. It seems it ends up hurting the one expressing defiance more than the target of the defiance.

He was the only contestant to receive a standing ovation from Simon. He was the first guest this year on the new AI. He was the first to sing a U2 song and a Led Zepplin song. He continues to pave the way for creativity and honesty. He is the American Idol.

@Eva They were adorable on that Red Carpet holding hands. Yes, I think that photo of them holding hands & grinning from ear to ear--especially in front of wallpaper with FOX all over it--is GROUNDBREAKING in a very quiet way. A full circle AI moment for Adam, who IS a hero in his civil rights movement & who probably did lose because he was gay. The FOX image behind is significant because Bill Oreilly of FOX news (yes I realize the network is different from its news show.) was one of those who got hold of those pictures of Adam showing gay man on man affection & tried to make a big deal of it while Adam's AI competition was going on. I'm sure nothing would have pleased the Oreilly jerk more than for his bringing this to the public's attention so Adam could be brought down. It didnt work :).

To me this Red Carpet event was the most significant & memorable part of that show last night. If the AI cameras deliberately shunned Adam sitting in the audience with Sauli because of their holding hands, but showed a Gaga performance simulating man on woman sex--then this points out a CLEAR demonstration of dual treatment of one of our US citizens based only on sexual orientation.

Yes! I so agree. When I saw these pics I laughed and cried at the same time. Yes, yes, yes! This is the way to do it. Be visible, show your love, don´t pretend, be yourself. And to se the reactions, the squeeeeling and OMG:ing the pure joy amongs fans was so wonderful. We are an exceptional fandom. I spent half the night on twitter and Adamtopia. Living in another time zone can be exhausting sometimes, but I didn´t want to miss this and I´m so glad I didn´t.
I remember Bill O´Reilly. He seemed to be somewhat mentally challenged with his "embarrasing pictures" and "Can you actually vote for this guy?"
It´s been 2 years and a lot of changes have happened. Two guys holding hands in front of Fox logo is one step to a better future.

I don't think that Idol was deliberating not showing Adam or any of the other Idols that were there: Kris, Lee, David, Allison, etc. Thought Idol did a lousy job with their own guest interviewers, whom they put out in the east 40. Loved Adam's in your face, holding his guy's hand on the Red Carpet. Freedom of Expression. I wasn't sure what Gaga and the boy toy were trying to do inside the coffin type box, it just looked awkward and made me not want to watch. No wonder Scotty always praying around Gaga. LOL
