@anon 9:22 PM THE TRUTH is I love ADAM! But this song is boooooooooooooooooooooooooring! Again, if Adam's new album is gonna be like this song - just about the lyrics but nothing about the music, it will be crushed on the market! I don't like Katy, JB, Bruno Mars, or Eminem! But I love Lady GaGa! Because she sold "herself" not only for music (actually almost all of her songs are fantastic)but for fireworks! And Adam is about fireworks, not about boring music and sad lyrics! Also, I think everybody have right to make the comment! If I don't like this song it doesn't mean I don't love Adam. I will buy two or three CD just to support him even if don't like some of the songs on this album! SAD AL
SAD AL, good for you for contiuing to supporting Adam. You are of course entitled to your opinion as we all are. I love the song. It showcases his vocals unbelievably. I am so anxious to hear the rest of it. He listened to us when we told him we wanted to hear his vocals more!
I just read another tweet that said the rains came during his last few songs. So far, I've only seen pics with Monte and Tommy in them...
This song will have a universal appeal; it has a little eastern lilt to it. Very beautiful lyrics and melody; haunting and hypnotic, as a few here have said. I love that high note on "hell". -Lam my
SUZ526 is uploading it now. I'm sure the HD video will showcase the song and his voice much better. I watch that video few times and I'm in tears. His voice in impeccable.
To Sad Al. I like Gaga too, but lately she is becoming a cartoon. I can only think your taste runs to pop and not much beyond. You are entitled to your opinion, so won't go off on you. If you don't like this song or others off the new CD then don't waste your money. I believe you must be very young, or you would know that singers who actually can sing last a very long time, and usually because their songs move those who listen. Afraid I am from the old school where the voice matters!
I'm sitting here stunned at the sheer beauty of Adam's voice and the gut wrenching song. He wasn't kidding when he said this album will be personal. It would be perfect for a movie track, as well as touching so many pain filled souls that feel like outlaws in this archaic society. Adam is brilliant and he knows how to connect in the most human way. I'm amazed at how rude people can be, listening to a song that deserves attention and quiet. Fever and IIHY deserves fans dancing and excitement, but this song and songs like Broken Open and Soaked have a vibe that should be respected and savored. You wonder if these people had any manners taught to them at all.Still, I won't let any comment or the rude video talkers spoil this magnificent night with the gift from Adam that was so long awaited. His voice is in top form and he sure knew what to do with it. Going back to listen a few hundred more times...funbunn40
"Everywhere we go, we're looking for the sun. Nowhere to grow old. We're always on the run. They say we'll rot in hell, but I don't think we will. They've branded us enough. Outlaws of love."
Ab 1 yr ago Adam said he was scared not to find true love, someone to grow old with. He then found Sauli, who has difficulties to stay in US permanently.
I am very eager to hear the song without the noisy crowd. Most of you know I love "words" and these written from the heart, exposing the soul knock me out. Yes, they're sad but music should express all human emotion so that we can identify with it. Some of the most beautiful music ever written can make you weep. That's not a bad thing.....that's a human thing and proves our hearts aren't stone cold.
I liked what I could hear of the melody, it seemed original, not a copycat of some other artist's work. It's a cliche, but time will tell how it is accepted by the general public. I think I'm going to love it!........JAK
Thanks to anon. above who posted the lyrics. I assume Adam wrote them, as it sounds like they came from a personal place of he and Sauli living with the stigma of being gay, with nowhere to go. Feeling like an outlaw, always being judged. Adam never sounded better, his voice clear, strong and so resonant. He is just so unbelievably good. Love that man and what he brings! funbunn40
This song is so universal. I'm crying like a rain storm. :'{{{
It's so beautiful. As I listen to it, it touches my heart and soul. I relate to this song so much. No matter where we grow old, we're always on the run. Indeed Adam Lambert! Indeed! Ughhhh! Tears!!!!
@The Dark Side Never like pop music, never like MJ, only on his Jackson 5 time. My only Rock God is Freddie Mercury who beat Elvis in many polls and become Rock Legend #1 in Rock History' Google it if you don't believe me. After I saw Adam first time, and it was "Ring Of Fire" on AI I thougt, OMG, the legend came back! I hate AMA performance, I even didn't buy FYE. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. Just want Adam become the legend as Freddie, but not as something as Boy George(hate him) SAD AL
BRILLIANT SONG BRAVO ADAM LAMBERT UR SO TALENTED OMG THE BEST NEW SONG IN TODAYS WORLD. LOVE IT .NICE TITLE TOO OUTLAWS OF LOVE. P;S ALL ADMA LAMBERT FANS YOUNG AND OLD LOVE THIS SONG. BEAUTIFULLY MADE.
@9:15 I agree with you....I don't care for this song either. I love Adam, but this song just doesn't appeal to me!!! I guess I'm just not a big fan of ballads even though I do love CLYG!!
I love it!! This man can do anything as I keep saying and this is his strength. This song does show of his vocal capabilities and it is very haunting. Needs a few listens like with Broken Open.
I doubt this will be his first single though and just a warm up type thing.
9:48 The song is NOT boring. And Katy Perry did Fireworks, not Gaga. If you like Adele, you would appreciate the sheer vocal ability and raw emotion expressed. It is clearly not dance music. I appreciate a good voice shinning through rather than a lot of artificial noise that covers the vocals. Adam has repeated said, this album will focus on voice but have modern feel with some electronics. It is an expression of him. He is a beautiful person inside and out, and I will absorb any thing he is willing to share.
"Everywhere we go, we're looking for the sun. Nowhere to grow old. We're always on the run. They say we'll rot in hell, but I don't think we will. They've branded us enough. Outlaws of love."
This lyric relates to anyone who is discriminated in their own homeland and they move some where else for better life and still they are discriminated because of their race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, etc. etc. Yes, Adam wrote it but it's not specifically to gay community. IMO, it's universal. I'm not gay but I related to it because of my belief and race.
I love Adam's new song "Outlaws of love". It is beautiful and heartfelt and really touched me. It moved me to tears and that is a gift that Adam has. His voice can reach out and touch me emotionally. I know he has gone through much pain and I can feel his sadness. I wish him so much success on his new album and I pray he has longevity in the music business because I always want to hear his amazing voice.
@anon 10:33PM I think you don't undestand what I meant when I talk about GaGa! I talked about sprit, fan, wildness which GaGa has. Don't you know that she got her GaGa name from Queen's "Radio GaGa" on Wembly 1985? Google it and you undestand what I'm talking about! Katy is just a huge amount of makeup, bad movings, but somebody's good investment. Try "California Gurls", you understand what I am talking about. SAD AL
I adore Adam but I don't think this song is radio friendly. Hope it's not his 1st single on his new album. The lyrics are OK but the melody is boring. JMPOV
SAD AL: Actually GaGa is a word from the late 30's early 40's. If you had a hard crush on someone, you went GaGa for them. I love old movies in black and white. I've heard that term used many times in those movies.
Haven't got time to read all the posts as have already spent hours on another site watching the twitter feed etc. Love, love, love the new song. Prefer it to Can't let you go..those people talking all the way through it, don't mind the screaming so much, excitement and emotions can't always be kept in check, but talking is just plain rude!!! @daydreamin, from what I understand WWL was the encore, it started raining just as he started it. Then people stayed and kept cheering, and he came out again and did purple haze as a second encore. Can't believe people were putting umbrellas up, obscuring ther view of Adam for the sake of a bit of water.
@Hk fan Does it mean that we have to provide the support to any song written by Adam even if we don't like it? I think everybody have to agree that Adam is the greatest singer and performer recently in American Music Industry. But he is not very good songwriter:(
This is from a gut wrenching personal place for Adam. He continues to be a catayst for change and acceptance. He and Sauli are now in love. They deserve to have the same freedoms as anyone and grow old together if this is meant to be.
How brave of Adam to put into words the pain and heartache and prejudice he lives with every day. The cruel twitter messages we have seen sent to him as only one example of the injustice he contends with.
Adam is speaking to the haters in this song and asking for equality. I believe this song will be used as a genesis for more open mindedness worldwide.
BRAVO Adam !!! You represent LOVE and are truly LOVED by your fans!!
I love the new song. The melody is beautiful and the chorus is already stuck in my head. Went to the supermarket and found myself humming that song while shopping. And his voice is just beyond words.
curses upon those jabbery guys that could not shut up while Adam was singing and Suz was filming..why pay to sit there and blah blah through our Rock God Adam singing ...just had to say it..glad I was not sitting next to them..
OMFG I am listening to Mad World and those idiots are now yelling while Suz is filming..cannot take much more of them..about to scream..Adam is singing his heart out and they are being so rude..
@9:22pm - everyone has a right to like a song or not, so do not put the person down who does not like this song. And they can still love Adam, just not the song. Me personally, I love it, it made me cry. You go, Glambert, who does not like this song, maybe you will like the next one.
This is a very simple but haunting song - not all songs have to be complicated or loud etc to be good! Elvis sang some of the most simple ballads ever which have lasted through time. Adam will mix things up I am sure on his album so there will be stuff on there for everyone to like.
This is such a beautiful song. A few drums and some change ups, and that would make the song marketable. But there is a place for thoughtful, reflective songs as well as the more popular, radio oriented songs. I'm thinking "Broken Open." I just wish people would shut up when Adam is singing them.
I am more into dance pop kind of songs. However, I did get chills down my spine when I heard Adam singing Outlaws of Love and that despite the poor quality of the audio and the screams from the audience. As to whether it will become a top hit, that remains to be seen because judging from the current top hits, it seems that many now do not appreciate vocals such as Adam's.
@anon 12.14 ????have no idea what you're on about as I made no mention of anyone else in my post,or about whether they liked the song or not....was just stating I love it! talc vids has a far better quality video to watch on you tube.
I hope the lyric is Stars (although scars would work) make us who we are. Stars would connote being born or having traits on board delivered to us by the universe beyond our control. The floating quality of stars--separate but in galaxies in the vast darkness of space--fit the ethereal quality of Adam's beautiful song.
It doesn't get any better than this. Adam can sing to the core of your soul like no other.
@SAD AL Boredom can be symptomatic. You might want to learn more about that. There is no way on earth this song is boring. You do have to remain quiet, still, and open for a little while in order to take in this delicate gift from Adam. I, for one, did not want it to end. It's like being in a dream.
Since the radio giant take over the people's station, we can hardly listen to this kind of song anymore. Instead fill with many repeat auto-tune meaningless fake mediocre to brainwash the younger generation. Maybe there are few exceptions. The song is different from those in the top chart and is not everybody's cup of tea. Good to see Adam follow his heart, the song is catchy and lyric are strong and easy to sing. Will do well in some part of the world.
Hey Kentucky Fan, yes scientists say we are made of the same basic building materials as stars and as pointed out by you, fit the ethereal quality of Adam's song. In the context of the song however, scars fit much better because the immediate line talks about... hearts and homes are broken...and also...tears all fall the same... :) -Lam my
woah, just listen to this song several times and fell in love with it. Smart move on Adam's part to bring out a new song yesterday and get everyone talking about it. Fun too!!
@Lam my Yes, I think you are right. And, when I went back to listen again (TalcVids may be best video so far), I think that is what he is actually singing, scars.
This song reminds me of something Joan Baez would sing (and still does! have heard her live in concert within past 6 months)with her incredible voice. She, too, is haunting, brave & fierce. It may, whether Adam intends this or not, be one of the best civil/gay rights activist songs of all time because Adam connects at a soul to soul level both through his willingness to be authentically vulnerable with the lyrics and through the tonal qualities of his voice. This has the effect of transcending age, race, sex, culture, country, time, or place. I suspect LOTS of children, teens, and adults everywhere--for an array of reasons--will identify with this song. Its theme, just like Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, is timeless. Amazing.
For those who want to rock out, I'm sure there will be rock on his album, as well. Adam likes doing that himself too much. It's not a matter of either-or, black or white with him. Adam is too multi-layered, too complex. He is not a one- or even two-dimensional artist (or I would never have paid--let alone sustained--attention to him. I NEVER grow tired of him. Indeed, he feeds my soul. I can't get enough of his singing or him.). You know he does not liked to be boxed in. Why we love him.
I have heard this new song of Adam's many, many times, and each time it does not fail to wrench the tears from some deep cut whatever source, because we've all seen hurt, so I understand that the "scars" make sense. The healing has taken place, but also suggest they make us stronger, as scars in fact do, in both physical and psychic sense. What this song does, opens up our hearts as Adam has for us, and we feel the kinship with him and his pain. They draw from us the deepest hurts, and we cry together. The tears still flow as I feel Adam's pain in this song. I am with him. An anthem song for all of us outlaws of love is what I believe this song is. Sad Al, it's okay that you cannot relate to this song lyrically or melodically. You may not have felt the overwhelming effect of others' cruelty out of immense ignorance. Whether we like the song or not, it was born out of necessity, because after tears shed, hearts then heal. It's Adam's gift to us. atm
I absolutely love this!!! I am constantly turning the radio off today because of the mostly garbage today ( I'm refering to the bubble-gum auto-tuned rapper crap that goes straight to #1. Thank god for adele for one- she is bringing back emotions and vocals- pure talented singing. So in a way, this will help adam (because he's the male version of adele and then some! This isn't really coming out right, but I know some of you get what I'm sayin. So yes, this song could be a huge hit IMO.
Your several posts resonated with me....I call songs like this "floaters". I listen lying in a black dark room and float in space soaking up and lifted up by the music and lyrics. I think this one will be joining my collection, such as-
There's a place for us, Somewhere a place for us Peace and quiet and open air wait for us Somewhere.....There's a time for us, Someday a time for us. Time together with time to spare, time to learn, time to care,Someday. Somewhere..we'll find a new way of living, we'll find a way of forgiving, Somewhere. There's a place for us, a time and place for us. Hold my hand and we're halfway there, hold my hand and I'll take you there, Somehow.....Someday.....Somewhere
Whew! West Side Story was a jewel.............. The romantics among us will float with Adam's song!.........JAK
Personally, the line that got me from the start was "Everywhere we go, we're looking for the sun" I always feel I'm looking for the sun in this dark, cold world.
In a world of pop crap that all sounds the same and is sung my mediocre singers, this song is magnificent in EVERY WAY: performance, vocals, content, everything. It makes my heart burst. DRG
@DRG In a world of pop crap this song sounds great cause this song is different. However, this song never will work for radiostations. Nobody put it in the air 20 years ago (glamrock and pop time) or now. Welcome to reality 2011! Everybody want have a fun and nobody want to listen sad ballad about "Outlaws of Love" when you driving to Seaworld
Since I was gone over the weekend and largely unable to access or comment here, I would like to add a comment about this song, and on this thread. Probably won't be seen, but oh well. : )
I think this song is so beautiful. It feels like Adam's most personal, deep within his heart and soul, song to date, and it makes me cry. Every time. It is not boring to me, nor is it written with radio play in mind, I would dare say. It expresses raw, basic emotion, something that seems to be lacking today in Top 40 (pop) radio. It is also not dance music, something we'll most likely hear on Adam's album as well. It is simply and eloquently sung, to express those feelings of deep despair and longing, and also the tentative and wistful hope that someday all of us might feel the love that is the common denominator in our lives, that desire to feel whole as a person, and without condemnation. Adam speaks a universal language. Because in the end, we all want and need the same thing, to love and be loved. Who we love should not matter, except to those who are experiencing it. Isn't that really what any human being desires? Beautiful. Just truly beautiful.
Although I know not everyone is a fan of "Broken Open", it is truly one of my favorite songs on the album (in addition to all of them), and I was present in the audience to hear him sing it live several times, which was indeed an honor, because he has not sung it often live. Broken Open live is truly magical, and stunningly beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes. "Outlaws of Love" will have the same effect sung live, I'm sure, and is even more likely to draw tears from the audience.
Personal Note: This song reminds me of the story of an older gay gentlemen that I became acquainted with about 12 years ago. He was a wonderful sweet man whose life partner had died and he was feeling completely lost and alone, and was on the verge of suicide. He had never come out to his family about their true relationship because of their very judgmental attitude toward the gay community ("They say we'll burn in hell.."), and so as a result he could not openly or adequately express or explain his unbearable grief. He was indeed an "Outlaw of Love". He was also a very spiritual man who was looking for a community of faith to help him deal with his loss, one who would understand his pain, and not condemn. I was active in a very liberal church at the time who were "open and affirming" to all, regardless of sexual orientation, etc..He found an open caring group of people with whom he felt safe and loved. This song of Adam's would have undoubtedly had a very personal and profound meaning to this lovely man. I wish he had lived long enough to hear it. He has since died, but his last years were lived openly as a gay man, surrounded by many new friends who loved him for who he was, a beautiful human being.

Here are partial lyrics to Outlaws of Love:
Everywhere we go, we're looking for the sun.
Nowhere to grow old. We're always on the run.
They say we'll rot in hell, but I don't think we will.
They've branded us enough. Outlaws of love.

Everywhere we go, we're looking for the sun.
Nowhere to grow old. We're always on the run.
They say we'll rot in hell, but I don't think we will.
They've branded us enough. Outlaws of love.
SAD AL
Oh My God, this is beautiful, just what I was wanting, gorgous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Couldnt wait for my visitors to go to get to this site,

Rain came down during WLL. I guess after WLL he sang Fever, SFW and final encore was Purple Haze. Some one posted the set list on a different thread.
So touching, so touching!

Love that man and what he brings! funbunn40
This song is so universal. I'm crying like a rain storm. :'{{{
Just want Adam become the legend as Freddie, but not as something as Boy George(hate him)
SAD AL
BRILLIANT SONG BRAVO ADAM LAMBERT UR SO TALENTED OMG THE BEST NEW SONG IN TODAYS WORLD. LOVE IT .NICE TITLE TOO OUTLAWS OF LOVE.
P;S ALL ADMA LAMBERT FANS YOUNG AND OLD LOVE THIS SONG. BEAUTIFULLY MADE.
@9:15
I agree with you....I don't care for this song either.
Loulou
SAD AL
Great song but I would love to here Adam sing Cant Let You Go. I just love that song I think it would be a huge hit why is it being so ignored.
@JMPOV Are you for real? I can't beleive that somebody has her/his own opinion on this blog!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!
HeartAdam4Ever
I love the new song. The melody is beautiful and the chorus is already stuck in my head. Went to the supermarket and found myself humming that song while shopping. And his voice is just beyond words.
Anon 11:39 PM
This is def MY OWN opinion: I like his new song! I've listenéd to it for many times and even the melody is not complicated, I'm thrilled every time from his VOICE. This man sings like an angel. But I like all kinds of music, also ballads. But the VOICE and words! OMG!
curses upon those jabbery guys that could not shut up while Adam was singing and Suz was filming..why pay to sit there and blah blah through our Rock God Adam singing ...just had to say it..glad I was not sitting next to them..
Loulou
I love Adam and I love ballads but I don't love this ballad.
@anon 12.14
????have no idea what you're on about as I made no mention of anyone else in my post,or about whether they liked the song or not....was just stating I love it!
talc vids has a far better quality video to watch on you tube.
Kentucky Fan
@SAD AL Boredom can be symptomatic. You might want to learn more about that. There is no way on earth this song is boring. You do have to remain quiet, still, and open for a little while in order to take in this delicate gift from Adam. I, for one, did not want it to end. It's like being in a dream.
Kentucky Fan
-Lam my
I really do not think that this is his single it prob one of the song not in the running so he is aloud to sing it before the cd in released.
woah, just listen to this song several times and fell in love with it.
Kentucky Fan
It's Adam's gift to us. atm
Thanks for uploading this! OMG! Adam Adam Adam! This BETTER be on his new upcoming album! :D I loveeeee you, Adam! <333333! :)
Beautiful Can't wait to hear it withou noise
@ Kentucky Fan
Your several posts resonated with me....I call songs like this "floaters". I listen lying in a black dark room and float in space soaking up and lifted up by the music and lyrics. I think this one will be joining my collection, such as-
There's a place for us, Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air wait for us Somewhere.....There's a time for us, Someday a time for us. Time together with time to spare,
time to learn, time to care,Someday.
Somewhere..we'll find a new way of living, we'll find a way of forgiving, Somewhere.
There's a place for us, a time and place for us.
Hold my hand and we're halfway there, hold my hand and I'll take you there,
Somehow.....Someday.....Somewhere
Whew! West Side Story was a jewel..............
The romantics among us will float with Adam's song!.........JAK
Personally, the line that got me from the start was "Everywhere we go, we're looking for the sun"
I always feel I'm looking for the sun in this dark, cold world.
PH
Anon 10:55 I love everything about what you said! You have a beautiful way with words.
daydreamin
Amen to that !!!!!
