Oh I'm the first one to comment. Labor day, are you glamberts all out there playing lol?? Anyway, I love anyone that attempts adams song. I thought he was pretty good, just couldn't hit those adam notes, he reminded me of the guy on the voice that did adams song WWFM. Not bad and kudos to him for tryin! Good job!

Yay as well as using Adams song a definite Adam influence in his appearance, didnt do a bad job of the vocals I thought.

Really good, got to love those spiky shoulder! Miss Adam on big TV :(

He isn't Adam of course, but he did a very good job, I enjoyed it. And what a compliment to Adam, Mark Haze obviously has Adanm as his idol and paid him the highest compliment he could. :)

It was a good cover, but he didn't 'make it his own.' Good try and kudos to Adam. This program was more like America's Got Talent than American Idol with all the dancers surrounding the singer.

I'd like to hear him do something else, he can sing. It's hard not to compare him to Adam's version of the song and be objective. I didn't even know South Africa had an Idols show. Obviously, they're worldwide. Lucky Simon Fuller!......JAK

What he lacked in vocals, he made up for in enthusiam and heart. Nice guy, and he obviously sung it "Adam's way."

"Meatloaf" is in Africa....

Yes enthusiam and heart like a "bat out of Hell"

What I mean is I liked it!

Anonymous said...

BTW . . . .where is our "bat out of Hell"?

Adam is a great example but I wished Mark made it less Lambert and more Haze. If you can't reach the high notes, go for acoustic and mellow up the song..

Nice attempt. But, it's a compliment to Adam, anyway. Adam had to wait a long time for his lasers and it seems now everyone has them to enhance their performances. Not that Adam needed the lasers.

I loved the production and at times his voice was outstanding. Great shoulder spikes. I absolutely love it when someone sings an Adam song. Would love to hear another song by Mark, that's a hard song to do live.

wow, he'd definitely been watching the IIHY video. He's obviously a fan with the same shoulder spikes, some of the same dance moves, lights etc. Good effort though, although I found myself focusing on the dancers/lights etc rather than him. So nobodies ever had dancers/fire eaters etc on AI (as far as I know)does that mean its not allowed. i can see why they wouldn't be, as people would vote on the production rather than the voice, like I think happened with James Durbin.
certainly one of the better attempts at an Adam song.

Anonymous said...

James Durbin didn't have the "it" factor.

I like this guy singing better then James Durbin. Different styles. James is a hard rocker.

Adam is a style of his own and can sing the leaves off a tree if you get my drift.

I wasn't comparing JD to Adam, or this guy to JD, just thought that many people voted for him on AI because of the antics i.e jumping off flaming pianos, rather than the singing. Many times his singing was off, but because people enjoyed the production he was given a pass on the vocals. And I could see that heppening here with all the dancers etc.

Enjoyed his singing and the spikey shoulder things! Always a compliment to Adam when someone sings his songs! Yay! And to the Meatloaf/Bat outta Hell reference - very funny!!! I also thought of the singer from "The Voice". ... Adamluv

I thought I could hear the audience singing along at the beginning? Great to hear an Adam song covered internationally - a good effort even though he avoided the high notes (no one can reach them like Adam).

I was so excited to see this posted as I have been watching YT vids of Mark Haze once I learned he was singing "If I Had You" this week. I believe he did an incredible job. He even wore guyliner! There are other YT vids of him singing "Sweet Child O' Mine" by GNR (would have LOVED to hear Adam sing it) and "Born This Way". Any exposure to Adam is a good thing. I am hoping Mark remains in the competition.

Pitchy at times and he reminded me of the guy who won The Voice.

Anyhoooo, I adore this song - Adam's version. :)

I would like to see new session of AI 11 final contestants to cover Adam's songs WWFM, IIHY, or Sleepwalker. We keep seeing other countries' talent shows show case Adam's songs with their contestants. Why not here? Great compliment to Adam as it will put him more under the radar as a superstar. Sales of FYE album or singles will go up.

8:43 it seems like when someone covers one of Adam's songs here, his fans turn it into a Greek tragedy. sort of lol

Not referring to anyone in particular. Up and coming singers will benefit much if they just study, examine how Adam guides and brings his voice out and then projects it; sometimes piercing, slicing it through the air. But many think Adam is just yelling or screaming the high notes, well, they are sadly mistaken. :)

IIHY is deceptively difficult to sing, he underestimated it, but gets A+ for effort & Lambert Love. If you're interested he did MUCH better with Queen: http://youtu.be/c4CwEe91Vhc

Mark's Queen performance was one of the best performances of the season. definitely worth a watch!

Just to let you guys know, he was under medication for pheumonia which is not an excuse but a fact. Totally agree it was not 100% AL but hopefully good enough to put him through to the Top 5. Do a search for Mark Haze on youtube and you'll find he has plenty talent. Thanks for putting this up BTW, appreciate it.

Here is a vid of a contestant on Ukraine's XFactor singing "Soaked" and this guy is pretty awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSQnP-NjLOI&list=FLb4IpENdCZaRuxbQRp7TE1g&index=2&feature=plpp

Not bad, but would have hoped he would make it more his own instead of copying Adam. Still guy has a nice voice, so hope he makes it.

A pretty decent cover. I'll check him out on YTube. Happy to see artists doing Adam's songs. Adam is so professionally trained and has had so much stage experience, along with such a powerful, perfectly pitched voice that it's hard not to compare the difference. Adam just is so exceptionally out of the stratosphere that it's unfair to expect the same brilliance. That said, it takes nothing away from Mark and other's vocal ability. It's a great compliment that they are choosing Adam's songs. He did remind me of Meatloaf and the guy on the voice too. I wish him luck. funbunn40

I'm waiting for Adam to be the most covered celebrity/singer in the entire world!

@JAK - hope you see this!
Mark Haze covering two of my long time favorites. And if I remember correctly, you like the first song, too...Even Simon Cowell was impressed...Too bad we haven't heard Adam cover it, SIGH!

@funbunn40 - I repeat what you said: "pretty decent covers", but Mark does NOT do what Adam did every time on Idol, Adam made the songs his own...

GGD Gal, wishing Mark good luck!
