Adam Lambert’s Second Album Slated for First Quarter Release
The popular "American Idol" alum updates fans on Twitter, while execs from his label tell THR the album was delayed until February or March "because the creative process is still unfolding."

But the restructuring still leaves plenty of active Idols on the roster, including season 1 victor Kelly Clarkson, whose new album Stronger comes out Oct. 21, season 5 finalist Chris Daughtry, whose latest, Break the Spell, is due Nov. 21, and season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert, one of the biggest non-winner success stories to emerge from the show.

Lambert’s second studio album has been among the most anticipated releases of 2012, thanks in large part to the success of his debut, For Your Entertainment, which is thisclose to being certified platinum for sales in excess of one million units. But the follow-up has seen a few delays: first, when Lambert switched management in the middle of the recording cycle, and again, by his own admission, because of his “perfectionist” nature.
“Here's the deal: there have been a couple of creative set backs on the first single,” he tweeted on Sunday. “Mainly cuz I'm a perfectionist. Ha. Seems as though the single will explode in November. I'm sorry for the delay- but trust me, it's worth it.” He also wrote, "as of now, album will be released in the spring. Feb/march?"
RCA Records COO Tom Corson echoed that sentiment, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “We moved the album back because the creative process is still unfolding.” The executive notes that it’s “not because we’re not excited about what we’ve got, we just think we can top it, but we’re right there on the cusp.”
For his part, Lambert has been tweeting semi-regular updates on his Twitter feed and even revealing snippets of lyrics, such as: “Lost inside communication breakdown / Better just read my lips / Comin' in clearer when we get down / Iceberg / Just the tip" and "All along, I tried to pretend it didn't matter if I was alone."

It’s been noted that Lambert is “taking the reigns” on this album much more so than on his debut, and Corson concurred: “Adam is definitely more involved than ever and I think he's really enjoying that. Those first records when you come off of Idol, the timelines are really tight, so it's an artificial experience. Now he has room to breathe and time, he doesn't have to come off TV, onto a tour and then have an album out for Christmas.”
On the other hand, RCA CEO Peter Edge opined that American Idol was the perfect platform for an artist like Lambert. “Adam is a great example [of how] when you're right for that kind of format, it's a fast way to get attention,” he told THR. “I don't know that Adam Lambert would have found it easy to get a record deal, but from the show, you saw how unique he was, what a great voice and great performer he was. That would have been very hard to do through conventional ways.”
So when will his as-yet-to-be-titled full-length possibly see a release date? “February, March -- somewhere in there,” says Corson. “Definitely first quarter.”

Adam was at 215 million twitters. Went down just a bit. Maybe cause more recent tweets he is telling fans the Tommy thing is not real which it isn't. It was for the show. He is in love with Sauli. Guess some people can't accept that and bailed. Sad for them. Their delusions are taking them away from a wonderful talent and human being!

The twitter exploded. Adam simply cannot afford to ignore the sane fans anymore.

Despite the wait, all this news about Adam's album production and new management seems to indicate that he's got the respect of those he works with. It's all good. I know how this delay is driving us nuts, but in the big picture, it's just one step. It's his first REAL album of his own making. Seems to me the treatment he is getting by his "people" shows that they trust his talents and capabilities. I feel lucky to be able to watch his career unfold. I ain't goin' nowhere. The music will come. I simple love Adam.

Maybe Adam will dedicate his new album to Sauli. Sauli's birthday is in March, 29th, I think. Just a thought.

So he lost about 100 followers. Just think about that.

I just love Adam so much, he talk to us like friend. Yeah, music exploding in November, best pre- Christmas gift! I hope the whole shipping stuff get clear out and everybody concentrate on Adam's music and his beautiful pictures. It would be more effective TJ address the shipping directly, why miss the chance when everybody was on board???

i cant believe that there are some people actually out there who believed adam and tommy had a thing going on. tommy has a gf they have said he is straight from the beginning glad they tweeted about it

love these twitter parties.Can't chat,have to get in my 500 votes by midnight. Voting on the twitter poll as suggested by alot of fans and it made alot of sense to do it this way.

@HAL It showed 215 million this afternoon and after went down a bit. Well he doesn't need fans that don't support him in every way.Of course we are all a little disappointed about his delay but its gonna be great and just how Adam wants it. I think we can be just a bit more patient and maybe get more than one single before the album drops!

However, I think this is not about Tommy thing. I guess it happened because album was delayed and single will be release in November or December or..... Some of Adam's fans just gave up. This is not first time Adam lost some twitters.

If Adam's fans weren't excited and eagerly awaiting Adam's new single what kind of fans would they be?
Being disappointed is not being disrespectful. We were expecting a single in August, then September, then October, we are anxiously ready to hear his beautiful voice again. Outlaws of Love was a "treat" and we are looking forward to another that will be as sweet a treat as that one. Eager is a good thing!

I am not on Twitter so it is interesting and exciting to read the Q & A with Adam here on this site. It appears as if there is a lot going on with this second album and the final production with Adam and his team. They seem to trust and respect him and the decisions he is making in the creative process. If it is going to be released in Feb. or March, hopefully the first single will be out in November. I suppose it is better for Adam for this release date in 2012 since a number of major performers will have their albums drop this November and some will get lost in the shuffle. I just hope that his second album will be as great and amazing as everyone has predicted. I think that radio play and promotion of a single are the keys to its ultimate success and that of the album's other songs. Critics write the second album can make or break a performer's career. With Adam Lambert, I believe that everyone will recognize that he is the most talented vocalist in the music industry today and that he is someone the audience wants to see and hear.

I'll bet anything that a lot of those twitter-quitters will be back when the single and album come out. They'll be too curious and will want to be in on the buzz.

@anon 8:08PM It is hard to say if the idea to delay new album until February or March is good or bad idea. Yes, a lot of performers are gonna relase their albums this fall. However, Bieber planes to release his new album on the beginning of 2012. His new single will released very soon.
Hopefully, Adam's CD will be released before JB. Sorry, but it is very difficult to win the competion with this stupid boy. He is in top 10 best performers. I never could understand how it is possible that this weired kid got such a success in two years. Don't get his "sensational" voice, stage performance, and attitude.
So, lets pray that Adam's management knows the date when JD's CD will be released

I personally consider Beiber a semi-cute nothing, but long ago in this galaxie there were stars that twinkled just as bright and couldn't sing a bit! Have you ever heard of Fabian? His voice was actually painful and girls swarmed him and his records soared.

Wow!! I leave for a weekend and see that a shit storm has hit! Way to go Adam! Woo Hoo! Proud of you for finally standing your ground to these crazzzzy delusional fans!!!! I love the fact that Tommy chimed right in there too :) Way to stand your ground boys! After all people, this is about an artist. A wonderful, amazing, out of this world artist. Not his love life! He is a brilliant performer that has touched many lives and hearts (mine included) I too think this has gotten way out of hand if people are blaming Adam and Sauli for hurting Tommy by being together! Wow, didn't know that happened till I read it in the tweets. I too, love to read the fan FICTION, but come on people, it is freaking FICTION!!! Good News #1 - Adam confirmed that there will be a video released along with the single. Get your voting fingers ready for the Top 20 on VH1.

Good News #2 - Pop Up Videos just confirmed they are getting an Adam video ready for airing. They said they would notify the Glamberts when an air date is set.

2:54 I got my voting fingers all ready for voting on Adam's up coming mv. It was so much fun last time around. I was nervous every Saturday waiting to see how it turned out.

I don't get it. How do you have a video ready if, as Adam says, the single hasn't been selected yet?

I really hope Adam feels all the love behind all the pining and impatience for his new music. I can't remember longing for anything more in my life than my anticipation for his new album-----other than the birth of my 2 children!!

Just read that AI winner Scotty McCreery's album will debut on Billboard's top 200 as #1. And the sale of the album could top 200,000 at its releases. I hope the same happens when Adam's new album is released and even better numbers. There is no comparison between these two performers, but if a kid from AI can do this with fan support, I certainly hope that Adam Lambert can achieve the same or better with all his fans here and internationally too.
