As I posted on the previous thread, I am completely in LOVE with this song, Adam's voice, and the way it is presented. And of course ADAM. Its perfect for radio and I really, honestly believe it WILL be a HUGE hit for him..as the saying goes "Straight to Number One'. Amazing. Congrats to Adam! Both the Cover for Better Than I Know Myself and the song itself are stunning. As is the man himself.

I'm so happy that your daughters are screaming that they love it because that has a huge impact on how it does on the radio and for those who will download it too. I was screaming "I LOVE IT!!!" but I'm not a teenager...so probably don't count quite as much : ) Really need those young fans too.! They drive the Top 40 radio and the club/dance music. YAY!!!

Amazon deleted the snippet link. People are putting them up on youtube and it is getting deleted. If you haven't heard it better wait until Tuesday. I got myself a MP3 copy of it and it's on my iTouch on repeat. I'm gonna go out for holiday shopping and I'll listen to it in my car forever. Love it! @Carlos i agree with you that it is basically the the tune in the demo but Adam's voice is just perfect for it. Couldn't wait to hear the whole song.

The first time i heard the demo i already said to myself that it's gonna be an instant hit because it is catchy and very current but not with that particular voice. And from then on that short snippet has been playing in my head and that is exactly what Adam is singing now. I'm extremely happy with it and i have to trust the judgment of those who are in the know when it comes to pop music.

he did a total 360 on this one. I was expecting a FYE part deux. This sounds like it is on the edge of alternative/adult contemporary. maybe the ears are playing tricks again? Pretty tone in his voice. The pic is very pretty:)))

I couldn't listen to the snippet until I saw the comments here declaring the coast clear and predicting a recording homerun for Adam. I must have swallowed a thousand butterflies I was so "skerred". Not that I lacked faith, just brimming with nerves. Now that I've heard this with Adam's riveting voice, I can relax and revel in our dream of his recording triumph. No wonder all the enthusiastic "high fives" from those previewing this!
The demo of the song was okay, but not distinctive; hence, my concern. The "Adam effect" should have allayed any fear that the song would not realize its hit potential, which I now am certain it has in spades. Kudos and thanks to all who supported Adam in this song and the coming album. Oh, I'm thrilled and breathing easy, finally. atm

Get ready, y’all, because the evolution of Adam Lambert has just begun.

See, I’ve had a chance to listen to the new Adam Lambert single, “Better Than I Know Myself,” — in full. Great news — it’s really, really good.

First off, I should say that the snippet, which was released today, doesn’t really do the song justice. You can hear that the chorus sees Adam reaching into the higher part of his register, with booming, “Halo”-like drums and a skittering backbeat. But part of what makes the song magical is the way it builds from the opening of whining synths and a nicely percussive backing track, then builds instrumentally into the chorus. Dr. Luke‘s signature style as a producer is the juxtaposition of relatively subdued verses and a huge, explosive chorus, and “Better Than I Know Myself” does that magnificently.

The added talents of Claude Kelly, too, who remains one of the finest songwriters currently in the game, augment the song’s impact, since Claude has a way of cutting to the core of an emotional conflict with quick, elegant images. “Cold as ice, and more bitter than a December winter night/That’s how I treated you,” Adam sings in the opening lyrics, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it simile that speaks volumes.

The most emotionally potent moment is the bridge, where the richer synths yield to a tinkling piano and the lyrics turn unexpectedly vulnerable: “I get kinda dark/Let it go too far/I can be obnoxious at times/But try and see my heart.” It’s a lovely turn, with a candor that’s refreshing to hear in pop music, and it makes the song truly memorable.

In my piece last week for MTV Buzzworthy, I wrote that “My sources tell me that ‘Better Than I Know Myself’ is a piece of flaw-free radio candy, a stunning midtempo track with a powerhouse chorus that’s like a pumped-up ‘Whataya Want From Me,’ and it should cement Adam’s place in the pop A-list.” I’m sticking by this, especially the latter statement. “Better Than I Know Myself” is more radio-ready as anything on his last album, and I would be stunned if it didn’t perform excellently on the charts, and catapult Adam way further into the realm of superstardom than he’s ever been before.
