Another great interview. Adam is so personable, warm and friendly, just so excited to talk about the songs from the new album but not able to give everything away. I could listen to him all day.

How could anyone worry about Adam when we hear him be so upbeat and positive? I know the realities of marketing music are difficult and we've talked them all to death on many fan sites. But Adam is so enthusiastic and proud of his new music. He's so upbeat and forward-thinking. That song Naked Love sounds interesting! And he hints at doing a great collab or two in the near future. He and his management know full well what they are up against in the music marketplace, but they seem to be working for Adam. He is a talent not to be wasted. I know the top of the charts is clogged with the same old crap, but Adam is building himself up, not becoming negative, still working hard. Great interview!

That's the most natural I've seen Adam in any of his many interviews. He has such a good vocabulary and uses it comfortably. So refreshing to see him talk so honestly about everything. Such talent.

I would LOVE an Adam-Adele collaboration--or an Adam-Aretha Franklin collab? or a hot blooded Latin collab with Santana? I am thrilled about the continuation of Adam's working with Queen--fabulous musicians backing that otherworldly voice.

I know this is really crazy--but I would love an Adam-Willie Nelson blues collab. (Willie is one of our best American song writers, ever, i.e. Nightlife and Crazy.)

And, not so crazy, I would love an Adam Lambert-Dudamel/LA Philharmonic collab aired on PBS. Dudamel is only one year older than Adam; both have January birthdays. Two extraordinarily talented and accomplished men.

It's heartbreaking CBS doesn't have the b..ls to invite Adam to perform at the Grammys--not even last year when he was one of the 5 Grammy nominees for best male pop performance! At some point the explanation for Adam's absence from CBS & ABC needs to be redirected onto the (suspected conservative) agendas of the personalities who own and make policy decisions for these corporations vs. anything Adam ever did wrong. (AMA's were never wrong; he did nothing wrong.) Redirect the spotlight off Adam and onto the corporate owners of CBS & ABC and let's see what we find.

I bet PBS would have no problems putting Adam on TV. It's our Public Broadcasting System, after all (not corporate owned). NPR loves Adam.

Adding one more to my Adam collab wish-list: David Bowie, of course!

@DRG I love your comment! Thanks for keeping my mind off the edge! It goes there sometime worrying about airplay and charts, but it will all happen! For me an Adam Adele collaboration would be a dream. The best male and female singer together, with their powerhouse vocals! Plus Adele is super hot right now.

I'm DYING to know who these collabs might be. He's can't say, but he's bursting to tell. A great collab could be his big break into the upper level. He's just there hovering underneath everyone's radar (except ours, of course) but oh so ready to burst onto the scene. I hope the collab(s) happen. They'll be great. This could be the marketing strategy he so sorely needs.

As for Adam's trouble with network TV, I can never figure out how these stations can continue to welcome pop stars who abuse drugs, abuse women, sing about rape and violence, behave rudely to others, and yet STILL get big gigs on the major networks. And our choirboy Adam gets the shaft. I don't know why they're so afraid of him when they apparently are not afraid of far worse behavior in other performers. Guess Adam just isn't nice enough. LOL.
Well, I'm excited about Naked Love as Adam is! Bring it on!

At least Adam had no new music in 2011. Makes his not being at the Grammys a little elss painful. He's got bigger priorities right now.

How sweet that he says, when referring to his 'love', that he's never had this contentment before ever in his life. So glad that he has found this love with Sauli and that it brings him so much joy. Sounds like it will be reflected in his new music - so just can't wait to hear it all. Come on 3/20!

Love bouth of your comments. What I think is, that Adam is "too" honest, "too" true to himself, he doesn't hide from anything and there are a lot of people that is SO afraid of that, they hide behind big corporations, tv, etc...'cause some of them probably do not have the balls to do what Adam is doing, be open and be himself.IMO.

@SG Yeah you are right. Also Adam is just too talented and I think maybe that can somehow scare people. If he sings at the Grammys he would blow everyone away. Bruno Mars who I like is up for awards. Adam is so much better than Bruno or any male pop star right now. The women of course have Adele plus a bunch others who are really good singers.Adam will shine through to the top with this album!

Off Topic - Way Off Topic

What's this I hear about Rhianna and Chris Brown back together. Is this going to be another Ike and Tina Turner fiasco? Will some women never learn you don't return to your abuser?

those questions were gross. i feel queesy (sp?) now :)

JAK here...

@ Anon 6:00 p.m.

I agree about the questions, how juvenile and disgusting. I don't know who or what SugarScape is, but that segment sounded like a game 12 year olds would play at a party. I wonder what's going thru his head when he has to appear pleasant when playing along with such nonsense?

JAK here...again

Some weeks ago there was a list of some of his co-writers whose work would be on the Trespassing album.
Nikka Costa was on the list. Have any of you heard the name of the song they wrote together? I may have missed it when I was absent a bit recently. Anyone?

That list of "questions" at the end were disgusting and I wish Adam had just gotten up and laughed them off as he walked away. No one should have to be subjected to such sophomoric nonsense!
On another note- I,too, sometimes feel angry at the networks, radio and tv execs who blatantly ignore the talent of this incredible artist.I know I don't feel this way because I'm just a crazy Adam Lambert fanatic. I have seen too many people all over the world respond to this amazing singer/entertainer to know I am not being delusional.I keep waiting for that "star burst"-that one song that will crash through all the bigotry ,hate, conservatism and shout out to the world,"Here I am at last!!!!!"

@DRG &SG, I agree with both of you. Chris Brown throwing the chair out the window could have killed someone and coming after beating Rihanna doesn't seem to faze tv execs. I still believe there is still such homophobia and now with gay marriage being such a hot topic, I think they are concerned about their corporate sponsors that still harbor ill will about the ancient AMA performance. I would guess those sponsors and some tv execs are big supporters of the GOP and the religious Evangelicals who are very against the LBGT community. Adam so outshines many other celebs that can't string two words together. He has more than proven himself to be an outstanding talent, well spoken, intelligent and well mannered individual.

funbunn40 said...

@ JAK I agree with you too. The second part of the two part interview was juvenile and totally disgusting. I don't know what would poassess someone to ask such stupid questions,a total waste of time that could have better served Adam. Some silly games are fun and lighthearted and Adam was a great sport as usual. He has the patience of a saint.

@ Kentucky Fan, I've always loved Willie Nelson's song, You Are Always On My Mind. He def is an icon and wrote some great music. I would love to see Adam sing with Lea Michelle from Glee. She's had good vocal training like Adam and has a strong voice. Adele is also a favorite. Love her bluesy quality and Adam could really do a number on the blues. He just has unlimited capabilities.

Adamluv said...

@funbunn40 - I agree with you! And to your comment re: Lea Michelle - she has stated how much she'd love to sing with Adam. And to the whole brown/Rihanna disgrace, I hope it's not true. Not a good example to send to female fans. ... Adamluv

UGH!! The disgusting questions asked of Adam in Part 2 of the interview. French kiss a dog, cockroaches and other abhorrent questions!!!!!!! Poor Adam ..... he handled the questions so well.
The rest of the interview was fine .... he interviews sooooo well.

I think Adam would collaborate well with P!nk. They have similar voices. That mash-up of them singing WWFM worked well.
