Great interview! They talked about lots of great stuff!

Adam, Adam, Adam -- you learning any second language would be SOOO sexy! Always is incredible to fans when the artist speaks a few words in their own language.

Adam has a good ear for language and accents. Finnish is a toughy, though. Sauli has a major project on his hands if Adam is gonna learn to speak it. I'm sure they'll both be working on it.

OT Please everyone request BTIKM it's at a crucial point right now as I read over at adamtopia. We need to show the staions there is interest. Of course just once a day by either mediabase form, teat or calling. Adam worked hard on visiting all these stations and he should get back what he gives!

A very pragmatic interview; Adam, you are absolutely correct...you were not an amateur on Idol. I believe people there learnt much from you. I remember saying that I felt for the S8 contestants because they had no clue who they were up against. By the way, I read up some Queen background on Wikipedia and Adam is now part of their history; very impressive Queen documentation on their achievements; the latest events mentioned were Queen with Adam on EMAs and Sonisphere.

If this was a real relationship Adam would have bothered to learn his 'boyfriend's language. He's had a whole year to learn more than a few words. He doesn't bother because he could care less about that fool in reality.

Good that they mentoned scools and water-charity.

Very nice and informative program for people in Finland that may only know Adam and Sauli through the tabloid headlines.

And when it comes to the Finnish language: It is a very difficult language! And Adam has spent very little time there, so there is no way he could have learnt more. The reporter was only teasing him. And besides, there are lots of foreigners living in Finland for years without learning the language. For example in Helsinki you can work, study and get all kinds of service in English.

It's going to come as a great surprise to my husband of 12 years that I don't love him because I haven't learned his native language. Since he spoke Swedish and English and I only spoke English we decided to (duh!) speak English in our home. Suits him fine! I know the important Swedish words. Hello, Goodbye, and I Love You.

What crap. Probably half the people I know are in mixed nationality marriages, and only a small percentage speak both languages.
Heck, My in laws have been married nearly 50 years, and my Father in law can't speak a word of German (MIL's native tongue...).doesn't seem to have done them any harm.

What does Sauli do, jobwise, that is? Anyone know? Just wondering.

Between blogging and Tutka, which both earn him some money, he keeps house for Adam and makes him very happy LOL. Jealous are we?

If Adam & Sauli were man & wife no one would question the wife if she chose to stay at home and keep house but because their both a gay couple it seems that unfair expectations are placed on them once again, really it's no one's business other than Adam & Sauli's. As long as their both happy with their arrangements that's all that matters, end of story.

It's hard enough to learn a second language that is more closely related to English (Latin-based languages, like Spanish, Italian, French) but it's really hard to learn a language with entirely different roots than English. It takes a long time to figure out the structure of a foreign language. Many people in other countries learn English in school as children. That's probably what Sauli did, and that's why he speaks English well. To jump in as an adult is an entirely different story. Learning a language well enough to speak it fluently is a long process. As a teacher, I've worked with many ESL instructors, and they say that some people have a natural talent to picking up a language. Others do not. People generally learn as much as they need to. It's enriching to know more than one language. Adam has a lot of time to learn more Finnish. I wouldn't be too hard on him. He hasn't been exposed to it for very long at all.

I didn't look for the translation of it, but that TV program seemed extremely well balanced. I love that they talked about his charity projects. Not many interviewers ask about this stuff.

Btw, some of my friends used to live in Finland working in academic research for several years and they never quite learned Finnish beyond the 'survival' level. It was the same with me and another Finno-Ugric language.
That's why modern imperialism is so great! We (here, at the 'imperial peripheries') usually can understand each other in an 'official imperial language'. Europe has such a mixture of languages and dialects, the habit of using official languages, and also the memory of both dominance and submissiveness (including the linguistic ones). Moreover, many Europeans are native bilinguals (with English as a third language).

Anyway, the linguistics of love is much more interesting. I can't wait for Broken English!

@331 it wouldn't matter that Adam can't speak Finnish if Sauli could speak fluent English. But he can't. That means they can barely communicate!

What is your problem 9.19am? Have you listened how they talk to each other? No you have not. So leave the communication part to them. They don't need you to describe it. They are happy. That's enough.

English is a Germanic language, it doesn’t have a Latin root, and therefore English is closer to Dutch, German and the Nordic languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Icelandic) linguistically. However, there are a large number of Latin loan words (French and Italian) in English, from a later date. Enough about this...

Adam and Sauli don't seem to have any problems communicating..and I would assume Sauli's English is pretty good these days after living in the US for about a year, and being totally immersed daily in the English language. And his English was most likely adequate when they first met, as most Europeans speak English to one degree or another..Adam has said the sexiest thing about Sauli is his heart. Speaks volumes of their relationship. Needs no translation.

Back to the topic at hand: I loved this interview..and I thought Adam looked absolutely his best here..so handsome, relaxed, confident, and happy..did I mention handsome??? He is in such a wonderful place in his life right now..and it seems to be getting even better by the day..so happy for him!

I spent one week on holiday and now I need one more week off work to handle all posts here 24/7!!! Help!?
