Just finished watching Adam's AOL music sessions in which he performed 5 of the songs from Trespassing and then there is an interview. These are great...no sound issues, no feedback or a noisy audience...just Adam singing at his best. Watch these vids and then you will understand the reason that he deserves to have a #1 album.

It's not the lowest (though if this was a few years ago it might have been) but last year Amos Lee's album, Mission Bell, debut at #1 on Billboard with somewhere around 40,000. As far as I know, he's the current record holder (a dubious title to be sure). Of course record sales have been declining like that for years.
With the public changing the way they consume new music, new standards of success have to be made to account for it and the music industry is little behind the times in a lot of ways. Anyway, a #1 album is a #1 album, regardless of circumstances, and it's worth congratulating.

I don't know. I certainly feel like I should have the right to if I want to. I think kids are amazing. I wasn't around a lot of children when I was growing up -- besides my brother and I -- and I wasn't around a lot of infants until recently. I have a godson. Two good friends of mine have a baby, and he's amazing, and watching him from infancy to now --he's still a toddler -- it's just like, it's amazing. It's amazing. Amazing to watch a child grow and to see things through their eyes, I mean it's so easy for them and it's so simple for them, and it's inspiring. It kind of makes you remember, you know what, it's really not that deep. Life can be this kind of beautiful, surreal, novel experience if you want it to be. And it's a beautiful thing to watch a child go through that.

So much negativity on this blog, it's disgraceful! :-( I bet they're fans of other Idols or similiar and jealous much! There is actually so much POSITIVITY and happiness for Adam on this thread...The negativity is coming from one poster I think. In this case, its best to ignore.

I think Adam is doing very well. He is not really a truly high profile singer/artist/performer like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, etc.. ....YET...relatively speaking so to Debut at #1 on Billboard is just fabulous. I don't really care about album #s sold, at this point its moot, because a #1 is a #1...and its something to be very very proud of. Both for Adam to be proud of himself and for us as fans to be proud of him (and ourselves for recognizing his vast talent and for supporting him..).

Congrats to Adam...for his FIRST but probably not LAST #1 Billboard Hit Album!!!!!

I read on a previous thread that we need to include the sexy arms to the long longs. Well, I've always referred to them, as wavy arms since his AI dance during the disco week. Adam's arms are very supple and he can move them in a wave-like motion. Since then I've referred to them as Adam's wavy arms. So if it's agreeable with you, how about...long longs, wavy arms...llswas...You can improve on it...LOL! :)

for those asking, may and springtime are low album sales periods, that is why so many albums released late in year before holidays. takes awhile for word to get out about new albums, so even if you follow adam and know what is up, does not mean others do. and look how mnay times Kelly Clarkson, CU have been on tv singing in the last few months - alot! still, I hope twitter and FB follwers support the album and don't get free DL from friends.

Billboard usually updates their chart rankings (the ones with the artists' pictures, different genre categories, hot 100 etc. that you see along the top of the website) on Thursdays, it probably takes a while to rearrange all the info to reflect all the changes of the week, (which is understandable with so many songs, albums, and genres) but they release the numbers and positions beforehand. The numbers are already out and confirmed via billboard's news feed, you can read it on their website.

I went to Barnes and Nobles to buy Adam's new CD for a friend. (I had already pre-ordered it in December,2011.) The sales lady was crazy about the album and we talked while I paid her, and the woman behind me said, "Who is Adam Lambert?" I had to fill her in. It's hard to believe but a lot of people do not know who Adam is. Our secondary goal after buying his new album and attending any event where he is performing, is to educate people as to how great he is. I have 3 teeshirts with his image and I wear them when I can. When anyone asks me, which they do, I tell them to buy the album.

No matter how some may try to minimize this accomplishment for ADAM & his Glamberts by quoting the sales #s ... the fact remains that ADAM is #1 on Billboard Top 200 ... regardless ... plus this is his debut week ... the others have been on there & ADAM moved them down the ladder to take his rightful position at #1 ... I don't give a darn if he only sold ONE more album than Carrie ... the fact still remains that ADAM is now the LEADER of the PACK!!! WHO cares if others debuted with higher sales?? I don't!!! All that is RELEVANT to me is ... ADAM IS #1 on BILLBOARD Top 200 ... AHEAD of 199 other artists!! To me THAT is one HELL of a COUP!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! ADAM dear!! Trespassing got good reviews and deserved to be #1. I would have been really upset if Trespassing had lost to Adele's 21. It's been on top of the Billboard for 64 weeks and sold 9 million copies in the US. Time to move on.

The Llongwavys Club! 'cause no matter which way you take it will be always a "llonwavys" way to conneck the neck....;)

Today Adam really achieve what he really deserve after a "llongwavy" and difficult way,full of NO!, but he kept on walking with his long longs, his strenght and self-confidence and now he's making history!!Isn't it great to feel so proud and happy about someone "just" because he has what he's been fighting for? What a great day!!

Yea, we were part of an Adam historic moment! A full-circle euphoric moment! The strangest thing is I saw this from the very very beginning and wrote several poems on the success of Trespassing because I viewed it from a worldwide arena which was more promising. But Trespassing hitting #1 on Billboard is really something else and in the process knocking of some Grammy winners! Goodness! My job too is done! Yea, I can feel all your badness flushed out of your irate system. Surprised you came on so mildly about the llongwavys acronym; very nice! Immense Congratulations to Adam! Superduper Trooper! :)

So excited to see Adam at #1 I went to the Billboard site this am (wed) and had to really work to find it. The link at the top still says Carrie is no. 1 and clicking on it gives a page load error. I navigated around and eventually saw the top 200 list with Adam at #1: Beautiful! But only 10 people had liked it on Facebook. Come on everyone on Facebook. Show the world you "like" this! Hopefully Billboard will fix the link at the top of the page soon.
