Adam Lambert's Fans Rally for Him to Become 'American Idol' Judge

Adam Lambert's fans around the world took to Twitter today to trend "#Adam4IdolJudge" in support of him becoming a judge on the next season of American Idol. The twitter campaign was a success in that it made it to the #1 spot on Twitter's worldwide trend list. In addition, Adam saw the efforts of his fans and even tweeted his appreciation: "Aww thanks Glamberts ;)"

Adam's publicist encouraged the trend, tweeting to a fan "there hasn't been a trending topic for some time. Glamberts musnt want anything I guess" The inspiration obviously paid off!

At this time, there are many rumors about who will join Mariah Carey on the judging panel, including Nicki Minaj, Enrique Iglesias, and Nick Jonas, among others. Last week in an interview on Australian radio, Adam stated "I haven't heard anything yet" from the Idol Camp about being a judge. However, in an interview published today from Australia, he sang a different tune. Now he says "I am still waiting on the green light; I am still being considered as far as I know and it was really lovely to talk with them.'' Until the official announcement from Fox, it is all just a guessing game.

Well if Adam thinks he's still in the running then it must be so! I'm really glad the Idol execs actually talked to him as finally confirmed by Adam. I was beginning to wonder if all of these rumors were just that....only rumors. So now we all wait. I think the new format on Idol we keep hearing about may involve the new panel of judges but also guest judges rotating through. I mean why do they need to keep talking to sooooo many celebs? All of them saying they are in talks to be the next Idol judge? I'm keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed for Adam.

It's a good strategy to have several high profile celebrities to give high-calibre performances throughout the AI/12 episodes. This will not only spice up the predictability of the sometimes slow-moving pace of the show, but will lure new viewers or those dropping off halfway to keep tuning in for these high-calibre judges' performances. Our favourite being...that's right, you got it! One and only Adam. Also, it's sound economics, these judges judge as well as entertain; cuts down on the need to further hire performers. Ahh looks like Queen is coming in with Adam, for another smashing finale; wouldn't that be spectacular...even before the season starts, I'm already visualising the finale...putting the cart before the horse...lol! :)

IT sounds like Miarah does NOT want NM as a judge.She said that when she signed on,she was to be the only female ,& she was not pleased.She seems to want Lenny Kravitz,tho( SP?)..I'M WONDERING if Idol WILL have some guest judges like they did w/Shania Twain a little while back,remember?She was only on there a few times before they got to the top 20,I believe.They may have had another one,also..can't remember right now.The only reason that Miarah may object to Adam would be that he's prettier( sorry) & he CAN sing!lol!No,I do think they're lining up some extra judges,like CT said..that could be the best for Adam in the long run.NM may be in,but maybe not for long.I can't blame Miarah,if she was promised to be the only female.

@Lam-my LOL! I'm picturing the same thing! Adam brings in Queen for the finale but not for only 1 song but for a melody of some of their biggest hits....I think Adam's vocals and stage presence were completely amazing during those Queenbert concerts. I love Adam singing his own music of course but his voice seems so suited for the music of Queen...perfection.

The QueenAdam concerts may go down as one of the best ever rock music. Yea, you are pinpoint accurate...about Adam's voice suited for Queen music. It could be the theatrical slant of Queen music which allows his range to be projected dramatically. Another major factor could be Adam was completely immersed in the songs; so carefree, relaxed, knowing his two 'godfathers' are at the helm holding everything up. lol! I got very attached to, I Want To Break Free (Moscow). I still view this video. :)

Adam singing Is This Love ! I know I know all the arguments against it, but Adam really shines in a cabaret type setting. I loved all his Upright Cabaret songs, slow and easy and groovy. Much as I love him, I do wish his heart wasn't set on POP, he can swing out with cool jazz....he should've been around in Sinatra's days!

So sue me, I'm an old woman, music was better in 'the old days', there was melody and a cool vibe and Adam's voice is a throwback.
He could sing anything from Gershwin to Burt Bacarach (sp?).
Take pity, let me dream of him singing and swinging The Summer Wind! In a sharp suit, shirt collsr open, tie hanging loosely, leaning on a piano with a drink in his hand.

I've said this before somewhere, that if Mariah and now NM are two of the judges, I don't know if Adam should be there with these two divas. It'll be all hair, boobs and outfits for the two women. Adam would really be the only one who is articulate, smart, honest, and oh so talented(although Mariah does sing well also). This entire Idol judge selection is turning out to be a joke, more about the new judges rather than the contestants. If NM is one of the judges, I will not watch the show any longer(not that it matters to anyone). There are other talent/singing shows esp. The Voice that have caught my attention now.

Adam can out do the Divas with his hair and outfits.Noone will even notice the other judges!!!

Adam can sing anything, absolutely anything, and it sounds phenomenal. What a gift he has been given, I just can't think of anyone else that can do that. He is an extraordinary talent that comes around once in a lifetime! Plus, my gosh, he is such a beautiful man inside and out, one of a kind without a doubt!

Actually, Mariah, Nicki and Adam in the middle could be interesting. Adam in the middle. Although I'll bet Mariah will want to be in the middle. Geez, what the hell am I talking about? This is all so ridiculous. Adam ANYWHERE on AI would be fine. Maybe they will wind up with four judges, or rotating guest judges, or remote judges or judges from Mars. Just put Adam on there.

The AI gig, like it or not, would open so many doors. Appearances on the "big" shows, awards show appearances, sales increases, more world exposure, hopefully more acceptance by stubborn non-fans, money for an incredible tour, perhaps TV and movie roles. A lot more is at stake here than sitting at a judges table. Frankly, I lost interest in AI as a show ever since S8, but if it could help Adam, I'm there all the way. He can hold his own with anyone, even an aging diva and a clueless rapper.

Adam was amazing singing Bob Marley! He truly can sing anything. By the Rules sounds a bit like that sound. He seemed so happy singing it. Saw the vid of Shady that was so funky. Hope someone will give us all the videos later today!

I'm not holding my breath on Adam landing the AI gig..but I will say this..there is no way in Hell that they will have 2 rappers as judges...let alone an all black panel...they have to be diversified in order to appeal to the masses...I thought Randy was gonna be a mentor this season..in any event, the only possible scenario in which I would watch is if Adam is on as a judge..the producers are seriously in need of brain surgery if they do not pick him...LOVE Adam's cover of "Is this Love" is amazing..OMG our boy just keeps topping himself...love him more and more each day...he has brought me so much joy...thank you Adam Lambert!!!!
