How does this BB Dance/Club chart work? Does it have to do with sales or radio spins? Can anyone answer these two questions?

anon 10:02, I found this on Wikipedia for Billboard 200. You can also search Billboard 100. You can read more at the link below:

Billboard 200
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Billboard 200 is a ranking of the 200 highest-selling music albums and EPs in the United States, published weekly by Billboard magazine. It is frequently used to convey the popularity of an artist or groups of artists. Often, a recording act will be remembered by its "number ones", those of their albums that outsold all others during at least one week.
The chart is based solely on sales (both at retail and digitally) of albums in the United States. The sales tracking week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. A new chart is published the following Thursday with an issue date of the Saturday of the following week.
Example:
Monday January 1 – sales tracking week begins
Sunday January 7 – sales tracking week ends
Thursday January 11 – new chart published, with issue date of Saturday January 20.
Normally new products are released to the American market on Tuesdays. Digital downloads are included in Billboard 200 tabulation, as long as the entire album is purchased as a whole. Albums that are not licensed for retail sale in the United States (yet purchased in the U.S. as imports) are not eligible to chart. A long-standing policy which made titles that are sold exclusively by specific retail outlets (such as Wal-Mart and Starbucks) ineligible for charting, was reversed on November 7, 2007, and took effect in the issue dated November 17.[1]
The current number-one album (as of the issue dated August 25, 2012) on the Billboard 200 is the various artists compilation album Now 43.[2]

And here is the Wikipedia explanation for Billboard Dance Club charting:

Hot Dance Club Songs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Billboard dance chart)
The Hot Dance Club Songs chart[1] (also known as Club Play Singles, and formerly known as Hot Dance Club Play and Hot Dance/Disco) is a weekly national survey of the songs that are most popular in U.S. dance clubs. It is compiled by Billboard exclusively from playlists submitted by nightclub disc jockeys who must apply and meet certain criteria to become "Billboard-reporting DJs."
The current number-one song on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart for the issue dated August 25, 2012 is "Dark Side" by Kelly Clarkson.[2]

In 2003 Billboard introduced the Hot Dance Airplay chart (now known as Dance/Mix Show Airplay), which is based solely on radio airplay of six dance music stations and top 40 mix shows electronically monitored by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems.[5] These stations are also a part of the electronically monitored panel that encompasses the Hot 100.

KC Dark Side is no. 1 at dance clubs? How the heck you dance to this song? I can see people shaking their arses to NCOE. Bunch of remixes of NCOE got released in Japan and it is charting on Japanese ITunes. Hope we get them here in US so we can get Adam to chart on US iTunes.

It's about time NCOE started climbing the charts. It is a beautiful powerful catchy song. All Adam's songs are great. The album is fantastic. I am buying his album for gifts too. Best money spent.

@12:07 My thoughts exactly. You can not dance to Dark Side,so weird it would be #1. Well when Adam releases Trespassing or Cuckoo as his next single that will be even better to dance to than NCOE. Good to see NCOE on this chart.

Actually I want to his Adam's next single charting the top of all charts. Radio better play his next single!

This chart is a good reflection of how listeners actually react when they are exposed to Adam's music. These club DJs are not controlled by any conservative corporation and can thus play his song by choice. The response by club patrons is obviously a good one, driving up Adam's ranking. Unless radio takes Adam off its "No Play List" (which I strongly suspect exists), no single.....no matter how GOOD..... will ever get the airplay it deserves. I hope those close-minded clowns prove me wrong!

Someone posted last week they heard NCOE in Macy's store in Pittsburgh last week. They must have it on their mix they play. Same goes for AMC movie theater, I've heard and seen the video in Myrtle Beach and I have read on this site several others say they play it a lot..Yeah..

@TXSparkler

I agree, I believe that Adam is on a "No Play List" in most radio stations. There is no other reason I can think of, but they are told not to play him. I have not heard one time, NCOE or Better than I know Myself on the two Pop stations that I have in my area. Have not heard them one time. Since his songs have came out, I have requested them several times a day for months now and never once have they been played, and I find it hard to believe I am the only person requesting them..It's a bunch of crap, and doesn't make any sense...
