Huffington Post interviewed Adam Lambert about coming out. At the end of the interview, Huffington Post made a list of celebrities who came out and Adam is featured as one of the 30 people. Here is Adam's part:

Adam Lambert, 2009
The singer's sexuality was always a topic of discussion for viewers when he was performing on "American Idol," but Lambert didn't come out until after the competition had wrapped. In a June 2009 Rolling Stone cover story, Lambert said, "Right after the finale [of "AI"], I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,'.. I didn't want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context."

Darn oh darn, ADAM is 'gay' and proud. Yah! Now lets move on. Will people ever give him a break?!

I don't care if Adam is gay or straight. But quit using the fact that he gay as the only topic of conversation. I am tired of having my nose rubbed in it. Has anyone found out yet that he is a fantastic singer, and a world wide stat.

Not surprising coming from that media. Huffington Post is extremely to the RIGHT!

O M G!! Just realized that this is an extremely OLD interview. WT..???

Actually the Huffpost article is on Anderson Cooper speaking publicly for the first time on his show about when/why he came out to the public.

Then it lists 30 other famous people. Speaking openly about orientation is still new to much of the US and it gives young people someone to identify with. Sometimes it is about more than Adam.

As I watched Idol during season 8 with Adam, the question of his sexual orientation never occured to me at all. I just focused on his voice, the songs he sang each week and the different styles of his clothes and hair. I was just mesmerized by his exceptional talent and stage presence. And when I read the RS article, I didn't care that he was gay. And at this point in his career, it should not be the focus of any interviews. He is an amaaaaaazing singer and is gaining worldwide fame. It is only here in America that he has difficulty being accepted and having his songs played on the radio. Ridiculous. Certain indiviudals are just so mean spirited and close minded, not just to Adam but to anyone who is different and unconventional in their thoughts and actions.

Brought me back to the happy days of Idol's Season 8.
No one will ever top ADAM's journey in that season. Ever!

First of all, in my experience, Huffington Post is not "to the right" at all..I follow it online, on Twitter, and it is in fact pretty darn liberal for the most part....

I don't see any big deal that Adam is in the article: again its fine!! It is recognition and exposure and information..In fact, I think most of us would be upset if they left him out. Most people know he's gay...it's just a fact of life. And instead of it being a negative thing, it's actually positive IMO. We as a country are at least TALKING about GLBT issues and stars. It isn't something that is a deep dark secret anymore. Progress is being made....As long as the article is accurate and respectful, its okay. The article IS about gay celebrities...and that's why they focus on the GAY........AND this article is featured in their "Gay Voices" online section...which is very specifically re GLBT. They feature a wide range of topics relating to GLBT. I would suggest we not overreact. And rejoice that he is included and not ignored.. : )) I know not everyone will agree, but that's my take on it.

As 5:59 pointed out, this wasn't just about Adam. It's stories of 30 famous people who are out and it is good to have them be so visible.

It is an amazing thing that Anderson Cooper FINALLY addressed his sexuality publicly, and for Adam to be tied to that in any way is great IMHO. I respect that Adnerson chose to keep his personal life close the the vest, certainly his right, but I am so glad that he finally chose to exercise his freedom to share it with the world as well, as he clearly came to understand how positive and powerful it's impact could be. Good on 'ya Anderson Cooper; and again, for Adam to be tied to this is positive and powerful and perfect, IMHO
