ADAM LAMBERT: LIVE in SOUTH AFRICA!
By Ashlee Zlotnick

"On a serious note I am not sure how anyone can begin to sum up the event of the year!
ADAM LAMBERT live in Johburg at the Coca-Cola dome was one concert everyone will be talking about for a very long time.

One of the best things of the night was when ADAM laughed. His laugh is so contagious and turned everyone in that room into screaming little girls.
The atmosphere was astonishing, the sound was great and ADAM made everyone believe that anything is possible if you just believe.
He went from boy born in Indianapolis but raised in San Diego to a total singing sensation.

He has by far the best stage presence I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of people performing! The night ended and no-one wanted to go home. We gathered in the pouring rain and started to sing his songs and dance in the rain. A night I will never forget!

I have tried to give you all the details I could but guys to be honest, ADAM is the type of performer that gives you a show you will never forget and never be able to describe fully how amazing his shows are.

His back up singers were amazing and had angelic voices that were breath-taking. Their names are Traci and Reyna.

So, so proud that Adam Lambert is a truly international star. He has amazing fans on all continents who will go the distance to see and hear him. They seek him out for his voice, his laughter, his intelligence, his niceness, his moves on stage, his fashion sense and style, and, of course, his looks. Truly, truly, truly Adam is a complete artist who is loved worldwide, even in the US!

This interview stops for me after a few minutes into the interview and won't continue. :-( Is anyone else having this problem?

Very happy, everything went well for Adam in SA and as pointed out, he loves the diversity especially in the audiences. I just read he's now in Guangzhou...yea, I was there several years back. I remember talking to a Cantonese old lady; I felt a kind of connection because essentially we are both Cantonese and we understood each other; but straight away she asked where I was from. The intonation gave it away. I bought some Chinese calligraphy she was selling.
Regarding "rot in hell" brought up in this interview; I was quite taken aback when I first heard Outlaws of Love, 2 years ago, by the strong words of condemnation that he sang, "rot in hell"; apparently used on him and it prompted me to write this:

Well well well
How could he rot in hell
Look into those eyes
Can't you see the smile

Adam, when you sang jokingly...I'm a gay man...very funny but also shows you've gone past that, with acceptance. Yea, Outlaws of Love is about being trampled on and "nowhere to grow old" but it can connote other circumstances, in a broader sense other than what it's meant to be. And SA can definitely identify with being trampled on with all their revolutions etc. many years ago; same with Trespassing. I thought the audience really loved Trespassing which they can feel exactly, the lyric of the song. And Adam's Trespassing suit+boots dress-up sure is avant-garde and appropriate. As for Guangzhou, I think they'll love the straight-jacket strap dance; reminded me of the Chinese ribbon-twirling-flinging dance. :)

I wonder if Simon Cowell remembers his words about Adam Lambert, "We wanted to find someone who would be an international superstar and we think we've found that in you." Well at least Simon got that right! I think everyone who watched Season 8 of American Idol knew they were watching a superstar when they saw Adam perform. All the judges knew it and, of course, the audience was with Adam all the way. What amazes me is that Adam wasn't always a star in the theater world. How was he not a broadway star. I guess it was meant to be. Thank God Adam went on Idol where the entire world would discover him and never forget him. Adam is fulfilling his dream and ours for him. I'm so thrilled for Adam - he deserves all this and more! Cant wait to see him on VH1 Divas!! It will be great!!!!

His voice wasn't the problem in stage plays, but he was not a skilled actor. He said so himself in an interview long ago. Looking good and sounding good is not enough to carry a leading role. Acting is an altogether different skill. Much as I admire his very exquisite voice I have seen no particular talent for acting in his videos or his very brief scene in PLL.

8:00 Well, since YOU'VE told us that Adam can't act I guess we can stop hoping. Must be nice to be the one in the know.
