OT: Thoughts and prayers to the families of the worst senseless shooting in US history! I feel alittle guilty even enjoying Adam at this moment when so much is wrong with this world. I'm from the East coast and it's been on the news 24/7 today. So so sad!

8:25 I feel the same way.

Don't feel quilty comment 1&2 it just temporarily takes your mind off it for a while.

We need to pray. . .

my prayers go out to all of the families children of all things they are so innocence.I work in a hosp. & I get very depressed that is why Adam has been so good for me because I can come home from work & get relaxed by his music & smile that is what life is all about I can not allow my self to get down because tomorrow I will face the same thing but I have to have a smile on my face to help the others.I play Adams music in some rooms and also Elvis we have to be strong to help the ones at their weak times.thank you Adam Lambert

I want to reply to an anon on Adam is too nice to be a diva thread
about todays's tragedy. Anon asked "what did we expect since USA is anti-God?" and went on that God allowed this pain and suffering as a wake up call to us to say that He exists. This kind of talk makes me furious and horribly sad.

Anon...did you also agree with Michele Bachman last year
that the East coast earthquake and Hurricane Irene was God attempting to "get the attention of politicians"?

Did you agree with Glenn Beck when he said "the Japanese earthquake and tsunami was a message to that country"...what for?

Did you agree with Christian broadcaster Pat Robinson who said "Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for abortion"?

Rev. John Hagee who said "Katrina was God's way of punishing homsexuality"?

Rev. Jerry Falwell who said "God allowed the September 11 attacks on US as retribution for feminists and the ACLU"?

I don't know that God, I don't want to know that God, not one who uses the terror and death of small children and their teachers to "give us a wake up call".

I prefer to know the God is Love one.......JAK

It's true God is Love but it is because of this love for His errant children why He gives them a wake up call to open their eyes and return to Him. Why not revisit the events in the bible? So you remember He is not only a loving Father but a Just One who dispenses Justice and Mercy, His greatest attribute. Get to know Him for you don't know God if you think His only attribute is Love.

For what it's worth, seems Adam addressed the tragedy during his performance tonight. These are tweets from people attending the concert:

NoAngelPF Talking abt the shooting.

NoAngelPF What do we as artists say? I don't really know.
NoAngelPF Lets come together. Lets celebrate life. Send out positive energy. Send out love.

NoAngelPF That's all we can do right now.

And btw, "God allows" doesn't mean He is the One Who caused it, a whole world of difference.

What an Irony that political correctness was all dropped today as everyone's mouthing the word pray or praying on TV today when prayer is banned in school, the teacher huddled the children together and prayed. Something horrific has to happen and it's ok to be politically incorrect.

JAK -- I am 100% in agreement with your comments. I will choose not respond to Anon 10:40 for fear that I couldn't restrain myself from what I really want to say. Enuf' said -

JAK you are correct, I will not comment either, I tend to loose it that does not help! Adam was right all we can do now is celabrate life, and embrace the little children that are still with us and need our love! Hope this brings out some security and stiffer gun control finally, in this country! To protect others, at schools I have three small grand children and it is a great concern! Sue

Here is a picture I took from Jingle Ball tonight. I sat 6 seats from LAMBERTLUST so view is nearly the same as his if you saw his Ustream. I am uploading the whole show but about an hour to go and I need sleep. It's almost 4am!

I thought it was really great that the performers took the time to talk about todays trajedy. One Republic (Ryan Tedder) is donating 100% of their ticket sales to the families and sang a very touching song of healing. They also are setting up a website for donations and putting in $10k to start.

Ryan Tedder also said some very nice things about Adam. I will have to go back and see if I recorded it as I only recorded a few of their songs. Such a trajedy.

this event, unfortunately, was probably more to do with mental illness ....

inclusion of "God" is often divisive, that simply has to be recognized ... No irony, not "ironic" at all. The exclusion of "GOD" is simply a necessity sometimes (some might say a neccessary evil {not me but some} ) in some arenas, in this country, because how we are set up; a flawed set up maybe but one of the best currently on the planet so far. The exclusion of God from public schools, for example, is, at the base of it, a form of tolerance and respect, remember!!!!! not "ironic", just tolerant"

OT:
I respect (although rather reluctantly, I will be totally honest) people who look to God in times of crisis ... However I look to myself to figure out how I can take action to effect meaningful change that might help the cause/issue etc. I personally find that more PRODUCTIVE than seeking answers in God. I suppose it is productive for many to seek at least comfort, solace etc in God ... But as far as ACTION, I find looking to myself, my family, my immediate community etc to bring about productive and meaningful positive results in the face of tragedy and crisis is more effective than worshipping ,,, I find worshipping, and yes, I'll say it, praying, a little ineffectual and counterproductive and feel that I am better off "being the change", in the trenches, so to speak, than in the church pew. just my opinion .... And I'll respect your POV but please don't tell me that cutting god out of modern society is harmful to the fabric of humanity as a whole. I find human ACTION strengthening, not praying or worshipping .... Many human beings volunteer, assist, serve etc because they know in their OWN hearts and minds it is the productive and meaningful and kind course of action to take. simply put, I believe in MYSELF, not an unknown entity ... And I won't apologize or feel shame for that (which Adam has strengthened in me actually ... I too did not send out prayers but rather positive energy and love!!!). JMHO

This terrible tragedy was not God's doing. The young man responsible for the shooting clearly had a severe mental illness. If parents choose to ignore the warning signs when their child clearly needs help the consequences can be devastating such as this tragic event. Also the government needs to be held accountable they have a responsibility to ban guns, how many more tragedies will it take to make them wake up and realise that this tragic event and others like it would never have happened in the first place if guns were not so easily accessible.

Anonymous said...

It's not God punishment or what so ever!

It's how you live your life in this world that's all...

We can't fight natures call but the rest we can do better as people...

Thanks for the videos. Is This Love
was at it's ultimate performed at Take 40 Australia. Adam just oozed vibes of such brilliance that came right from the heart and soul and it was breathtaking. A lifetime treasured moment.

We in Australia send our positive vibes and love to those families suffering today.Words are inadequate for what they must be going through right now. God Bless.

Adam did a fabulous show, of course. Like the other performers, he expressed his sorrow about the tragedy. He did it simply and eloquently, then sang a song that spoke about the power of love. God does not cause or participate in these kinds of things. Illness and anger and dysfunction cause these things. Adam's use of the word "energy" is so apt and wise. Prayer IS energy. The word "energy" helps encompass al of us, regardless of our religious beliefs. Good choice of words, Adam. We love you!

Anon 10:40...JAK here

I don't need to "revisit the events in the Bible"....I spent all my college years as assistant to the Professor who taught Comparative Religions..Old Testament and New Testament history. He wrote textbooks which I typed every word of and spent hours correcting Old Testament history spelling. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon had a dozen different spellings, I know them all. BTW his textbooks are still being used today because of their accuracy.

I think you need to spend less time in the Old Testament reading of the God of retribution and vengence...eternal payback for evildoing...and more time in the New Testament where God reconciles the world thru Christ. When Jesus commanded "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"
a new era was ushered in and that's the beginning of forgiveness and rationality.

Plus, I don't "need to get to know Him, I've known Him since childhood and we are on good terms.

@JAK 7:30 AM
So many people claim they know the bible without having any real understanding of it. I agree with your comments and feel the same way.

Anonymous said...

If you want to stay in the Old Testament, know that God gave us free will. Eve was allowed to choose the apple or not and she chose the apple. She knew there would be consequences.

Anonymous said...

Actually it wasn't an apple!
