So glad to hear a bit of Mad World that Adam will be performing with Cyndi Lauper. I wonder what other song he will be singing. Hopefully there will be vids from this show. I wish they would show it on tv at some future date for the home viewing audience. It is a worthy cause that needs to be brought to the forefront with these talented performers giving their time for the show.

Don't show me that! Makes me sorry for myself that I can't be there tonight....please please someone send us videos...mixed emotions...sorry for myself...and so happy for Adam! Lucky lucky audience, have fun and send waves of love to our boy....JAK

Hearing Adam sing Mad World again just gives me goosebumps and I'm once again in complete awe with the beauty of his voice. I bet Cindy is in awe too. Props to Cindy for putting this show together for such a worthy cause. Can't wait to see the vids of this show. Good luck guys!

So get this! I showed this latest Keek to my husband, who is also an Adam fan (thank goodness!) and he said "Huh..so who's Adam singing with??" So I told him..and explained he's in NYC to do Cyndi's benefit concert and the reasons for it. He said "So did you know about it before this??" Um...Yesss.."So why didn't you tell me..I wouldn't mind going and supporting a good cause like that". Well...DAMN!!! So I told him that from now on, he's going to know about every single gig Adam does anywhere... because, well, who knows! My husband loves NYC anyway..and combining this Cyndi Lauper charity gig and listening to Adam and some of the others (Sarah McLaughlin etc..) with a trip to NYC during the holidays definitely appealed to both of us. Live and learn. [Sigh....]

I'll be scouring Ytube for any & all vids of this performance/solo of ADAM. Can't wait for upcoming TV shows (Wendy Williams & VH1 Divas) to get here also. So EXcited!!

Glitzy Lady your hubby has just flown to the top of men we should all marry. I will however question his timing. Lols. The Dark Side

I have a twitter friend who is going to try to livestream and/or do vids of Adam's performances at this benefit. She is familiar with the theater and said it may be hard to film due to tight security and rules re cameras etc..but she said she would try. I'll let you know if she is successful....

Anonymous said...

@glitzylady, how sad, sounds tragic to think you couldn't attend, you must be heart broken,I hope these things don't spoil your Christmas my dear.

glitzylady said...

@Dark Side
He's really a great guy..and has been to some previous concerts..even a few "Glambert" pre and post parties..I feel extremely fortunate to have him on "Team Adam". He's even the one who said "We MUST vote for Adam on Idol!" But yes, in reality I wonder what he would have said had I brought up the subject when the concert was first announced! I'm used to a certain amount of eye rolls even from him sometimes. I try to keep myself flying under the radar a lot of the time with friends and family and not mention every little thing "Adam". But I told him he has now cleared the way for me to announce every single new gig as it appears...What can I say?? I guess #ItsAdamsFAULT :)))))

@ glitzylady.....some men are worth keeping....lol....JAK

LOL! I'll survive. Just kicking myself in the proverbial butt for not mentioning it to him sooner. My own damn fault!!! I AM going to the Divas show..so not a big deal. But I do think the Cyndi Lauper benefit show will be amazing. And a wonderful cause to support. So glad Adam will be there and performing. Oh well :)

@JAK
Yes, I think both of ours are keepers!

Some people need to get a life! Don't take so much for granted, if your in good health then you have every thing, so many people sick and disabled who will miss out this time of year.

God... His voice is out of this world.

@glitzylady

So is there a chance you and hubby might go to Bali for Adam's New Years Eve performance? It looks like it will be a fabulous place to celebrate New Years with Adam, oh and yes, Hubby too lol!

Oooh! Just listening to this rehearsal gives me goosebumps. His voice is like the sweetest honey from the best hive. I'm sure Cyndi L. is impressed. Hope many vids come in! What a Glam week we have ahead!

I too have a husband who really likes Adam. He gets my obsession and is fine with it. He thinks I'm pretty crazy but also understands Adam's superior talent and appeal. My hubby has only seen Adam live once (I've seen him three times.) If I really wanted to go cross-country to see a live show, I think he'd say ok. I'm so glad some of us have really understandign spouses when it comes to Adam.

That's why I like being single if I want to go somewhere I just go no need to ask for permission, and don't forget if you can't see Adam in Bali there's always Japan, Russia and of course Finland.

Anonymous said...

Read somewhere that Sauli was in NYC with his siippa, he also has scruff.....could that cause sparks?
....just curious....JAK

Anonymous said...

wow...how haunting, can't wait to hear the whole thing

Anonymous said...

Why do some of you need to have your husbands permission! Your adults if you want to go to one of Adam's concerts or anywhere else, just go, it's 2012 and women have equal rights these days.

Anonymous said...

Adam's voice is just like butter, the tone quality is just amaizing, that song really sets his. Pice off! Heard yesterday Nicki m. Manager complaining it was bull she got. O Grammy nomination. Also some other dude that I never heard of saying,he was mad saI'd that what He hates about the Grammies it makes you question what you done. Don't think NM deserved it Again, but Adam did. I just brought this up, seem like lot of mad, Grammy snubs and Adam deserved it the most! Sue

Anonymous said...

Well the Beatles never got a Grammy and neither did Queen, so many were not recognised until much later in life, so this maybe the same in Adam's case.

Anonymous said...

Just saw the Adam's photos in NYC. He shaved!YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I've never asked my husband's permission to do anything in 57 years....I ask myself for permission, weigh the circumstances and then decide if I can afford it, if I am inconveniencing anyone, how much do I really want it? If I decide 'it's a go'....I go! JAK

Anonymous said...

YAY!! Adam shaved.:) Love you Adam.

Anonymous said...

Well, that avoids the possibility of scruff to scruff friction causing spontaneous combustion!
I'm relieved....JAK

Though I rather liked the scruff.
I'm sure we'll see it again.

Anonymous said...

I was just getting used to Adam's beard, I thought it suited him, but think I like a clean shaven look best, either way he's gorgeous.

Anonymous said...

Wow ....that song ....that voice.... that adorable man! What more can we ask for?

I can't wait to hear Adam sing... I love the hobo look..thought I saw some scruff in the pics

These are the the moments that I follow Adam for, mouth-wateringly beautiful vocals like this.
So looking forward to some videos.

To discuss the question of why I might need my husband's "permission" to, say, go to an out of town Adam Lambert concert, or anything else for that matter:

In my case, I DON'T need his "permission". I'm like @JAK in that respect. If I want to do something, and I can afford the cost, I do it. HOWEVER, the point about that is this: If its going to cost some $$$ I will definitely discuss it with him, and decide in my own mind, if it is worth the cost of travel, the cost of the concert, the cost of food and lodging..and also be respectful of the family budget. Adam is always "worth" it in my mind, but I have to be realistic sometimes (Darn it!!). I've worked and contributed to the family finances for as long as I've married to my sweet husband, my "siippa", to use Sauli's term for "spouse", for more than a few years. We have a very democratic way of doing things. We share our information and discuss the pros and cons of anything like that. Its out of respect for each other that we do that. My husband is a marathon runner, his own personal "obsession" (thank goodness HE has one too! Because he "gets" the concept..) and we travel to various parts of the country, so that he may participate. And I love it because I have the option of going as well! In the past couple of years alone, we've traveled to Boston, New York City, twice to California, and nearer to home (Seattle..) as well. So he understands that I have my own things I enjoy, in this case Adam Lambert. He is fortunately a fan too. In the last past 3 years my DH and I have flown to California (Fantasy Springs 2010) and Hawaii (also 2010) to see Adam perform. (He's also been to one other local Seattle concert). I've traveled to California 2 times in the past 2 years with my "Adam" girlfriends to see Adam at 4 concerts. And I will be doing it again next week for the Divas concert. So while I do not technically need to ask "permission" to do my own thing, I feel the need to use some discretion in how I spend our money. And he is the same way. Just wanted to add my 2 cents about that... :))))))))

the vocal prowess - gah, to die for; he's so soecial

@glitzylady. You don't have to explain yourself, as long as your happy with your life style you don't need to defend it, as far as myself I've been single now for many years and fiercely independant, I have great friends, great social life, great job, and love my freedom to get up and go when and where I want to. The thought of being tied down in marriage just doesn't appeal to me, where all different I guess. As long as you have happiness, life's too short otherwise.

Anonymous said...

so glad he shaved!sure hope we get some good videos of the concert;at least,Adam's part.

glitzylady said...

@Anon 11:57 AM
I, for one, take NOTHING for granted. : )) And I agree, we should be thankful for whatever we have, and I am... And why the Cyndi Lauper benefit concert is such a good cause,"to help raise awareness about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness and support the True Colors Fund's Forty to None Project", as is the Divas show..which is to help continue music and arts in schools. To put this on a personal basis, I feel so fortunate to be able to travel once in awhile to see Adam perform, AND to be able to contribute to a worthy cause at the same time. I am also grateful that Adam gives me the opportunity to do so, and have some fun with friends and family at the same time. When I was growing up, my family was of limited circumstances, and we could not afford to travel, to attend things such as this. I never imagined I would travel anywhere beyond a 100 mile radius of home. I feel blessed to have the opportunities to expand my horizons, both in life experience and geography.

Just wanted you to know that I suspect none of us here take these things for granted. But its a good reminder that we do need to count our blessings. So thank you.

Now...back to Adam!

Damn! Simply gorgeous! The man and the vocals!!!! Those lucky people at the concert tonight!!!!

To Jak - I visit this site at least once a day but I don`t often comment. I love Adam Lambert and most of his fans. You sound like a really neat lady and I always enjoy reading your comments. I totally get the comments about married life. It is about compromise and to suceed in marriage that is one of the most important things. Kathy

Anonymous said...

None of us knows what lays ahead in life so enjoy it to the full while you can, live each day as if it were your last.

Anonymous said...

@glitzylady. From 11:57AM, the point I was trying to make was this: Money cannot buy good health and without good health you have nothing.

Anonymous said...

@ 2:26 P. M. I understand what you are saying, but must disagree. There are many on this site who have very poor health, myself included, and yet I feel I have everything. People to love and be loved by, books, music, this site where I can visit without leaving my bed. I call myself a lucky girl.

glitzylady said...

@Anon 2:26 So true!! : )) That would be included in "Counting our Blessings" don't you think??

Anonymous said...

@2:41 PM. I'm sorry to hear of your situation, you sound like a very strong person and I'm glad you have such good support and love around you, that's important. My comments were related to my personal circumstances, my brother's wife who had it all, a very astute business woman, travelled the world for a living, her husband a pilot with Quantas Air lines, and 2 lovely children, she passed away recently due to breast cancer. She put up one hell of a fight, and so now the grieving process has just begone. I'm sure in time my brother with family support will get through this but life can be very cruel sometimes.

glitzylady said...

I take back what I said re health to a point in light of what @Anon 2:41 PM said..many do not have good health and still live a full and rich life. But good health is not something that any of us should take for granted...at ANY age.

Anonymous said...

When you lose someone whether it be suddenly or by a slow process it's like being kicked repeatedly in the heart. You think you will never have another happy day in your life. I've lost both parents and my only sibling, my brother to brain cancer. As hard as it seems at the time and as much as I didn't want to hear it, time does ease pain of loss. It doesn't go away but the ache lessens year by year. I hope that your brother and his children will reach that state where the loss is bearable and find peace in good memories.

Anonymous said...

I forgot my tag...I am 3:12 P.M.....JAK......Death can be cruel and seem unfair. I've had sorrow in my life but I have been blessed with a long life and I know to appreciate every day. My sympathies to you on the loss of your sister in law.

Anonymous said...

@glitzylady & JAK .... I have a 'keeper' too. He's been to every Adam gig with me as well; not that I've been to many (*cries*) because I live on the other side of the world. Mine adopts the attitude 'Happy wife, Happy life'! :-)

Anonymous said...

@JAK.3:30 PM. Thank you JAK, I'm also sorry to hear of your losses within your own family, as you say death can be cruel but sadly a part of life that we must learn to accept. What stood out to me was how my brother and his wife appeared to have everything you could wish for, but no matter how much one has it can all be taken from you so quickly through ill health. My brother is a wonderful father and he is strong so I'm sure they will come to terms with this and move on again.

Adam singing MAD WORLD! PRICELESS!!!!!!

Whoops! I posted twice! My bad ....

Adam sounding wonderful, Cyndi needing more practise, I think her pitch was off slightly.

12.34 was me sue was I was trying to say is Nicki M. Manager said it was bull she did not get a Grammy nomination, she did not get one either, nor JB., and some other guy never heard of who also did not get one said, he hates the Grammies, shows like it because it makes you question what you done! Adam did deserve one, did not think NM. Deserved any other awards she had enough accolades for the moderate talent she is! jB, same way, way overrated talents. That what I was trying to say above. Adam doing fantastic so screw them! Sue

Anonymous said...

Well, I didn't mean to make it sound like I have to ask my husband's permission to go to a concert or to go anywhere else, for that matter. I DON'T. I can do as I please with the money and opportunity available, just like the rest of you. Enough on that topic!

So great to hear Mad World again. It's so wonderfully moody and carries such a strong messge. Adam sounds incredible!

The talk here about lost loved ones hits home to many of us. It makes me want to do as much as I can WHILE I can. Life is too short to waste it.

Love that Sauli is in NYC with Adam. Sounds like they'll be some real intense razor-burn going on!

So glad he's singing Mad World. So appropriate and haven't heard him sing it for a long time. i like Cindi too. She does so much for charity and I hope they get huge donations. It's getting cold now and the thought of these kids on the street is heartbreaking. Wonder if he'll do Outlaws of Love or Underneath. Wish I could be there. NY is closer to me than Calif. but a lot going on for me right now with the holidays.

@Glitzylady,Your democratic marriage sounds so much like mine when my husband was living. If I said I wanted to go to the other side of the world and we could afford it he would say have a good time or join me. He traveled on business and I would frequently join him on the weekends and he always supported my interests and I his. He was an avid tennis player and we would also travel to tournaments until he developed a brain tumour, became disabled and I became his caregiver for the last 14 yrs of his life..... @2:55pm I'm so sorry for the loss of your sister-in-law. I can understand your frustration and anger of this beautiful, accomplished soul losing her life to such a cruel disease. Life radically changed for me also and yes, life can be cruel, but I remind myself that I was blessed to have quality time with my husband and the gift of my loving son that I recently lost. I live with my losses which are still painfully raw, but I have to go on and make the most of the remainder of my life as they would want me to.It would be so easy for anger and grief to consume me, but I always find someone that has worse pain and if I try to help someone else it gives my life purpose and peace. I wish you comfort and peace. It doesn't come overnight and Adam has brightened my life with his beautiful spirit and voice. There is still hope and beauty in the world even when we have to experience the darkness. :)

I was on the point of posting "a taste of honey" remembrance of one of Adam's first songs/covers that impressed me greatly. What a joy to re-re-listen to his sweet, full of nuances voice, to a nostalgic song, to impressive, deep lyrics.
