Maybe this isn't very nice, but I do feel a bit better that Justin Beiber and none of the boy bands got a Grammy Nom. Hhhmmm, I really thought Adam was going to get a nom. But again, and call me a poor sport, so be it, but I am somewhat relieved that at least Bieber and the Boy Bands didn't get a nom either. There are some great noms recognizing some less than mainstream but exceptional talent, so I'm pleased about that. Grammy has started to recognize sales much more in their equation in the last five years or so... that old phrase "you can't fight City Hall" springs to mind... but we can support support support Adam's talent, and that's what I inted to do! :) Trying to be happy this morning, despite the lack of nom :)!!!!

My question is why they have group bands part of Best Pop Vocal Album? They also got nomination for Group category.

8:29 -- I know people will say that I'm rationalizing, but somehow, after last night's deception, this morning I feel like Adam Lambert will become even more popular because he wasn't nominated. People hate injustices, and his not receiving a nom for Trespassing is a flagrant one. Also, I love Brian May's attitude! The fact that the Grammys could not even acknowledge three of the four best bands in history plus Jimi Hendrix and several other legends proves that something is really wrong. And who even remembers last year's winners? We can't because when it's all a question of $$$ and not quality, there is no imprint on people's minds that they witnessed greatness.

Adam LOVES what he does, LOVES his fanbase, LOVES his musicians, and LOVES giving us incredible shows. I surely don't need anything more. A Grammy award would only be more icing on that already delicious cake!

@8:29- well said and I completely agree- I actually looked up the new artist nom albama (something)- completely out of the norm, but I really like them -real vocals and music. Not crazy about frank oceans voice (I think Adam's is 100 times better, but that's my opinion. The biggest relief I have is no nom for Nicki M -thank god.

I totally agree with all that's been said above! We all want the best for Adam, but he is riding high right now! He seems to be in demand all over the world and we can look forward to some TV appearances, especially the VH1 DIVAS! I can hardly wait! I loved what Brian May said - he's a true friend of Adam. It put's it all in prospective somehow! Adam is beyond talented and I actually think EVERYBODY knows it! There are many reasons some people receive awards and talent is not always in for forefront (as we all know!)......nancdruuu2

Brian May's respect for Adam's talent means more to me then the Grammy nomination, by far!

Just think about the level of Adam's success WITHOUT radio play, without a Grammy win, etc. He is doing so great! His plate is full. As far as Idol alums go, he is doing better than all of them, with the exception of Clarkson and Underwood. His name is huge world-wide. He will continue to rise. The Grammy peeps know full well how high-quality he is. It's just not his "time." They have to play the political game, too. Even the Grammys have to pander to who's popular and not always who's the best. Love you, Dr. Bri, for putting this all into perspective. Queen certainly isn't crying over not winning a Grammy.
(I also feel a little creepy saying it, but I'm glad that JB didn't get a nom. Or One Direction, either.) Sometimes, there IS justice.)

I believe Queen just slapped Grammys hand and well deserved. The Dark Side

@DRG I agree with your post. Just love Brian may and his support for Adam. I too was relieved no Beiber or One Direction, but I'm sure the tweens are not happy today!

IMO the Grammys have sunk to a low where they garishly celebrate and promote the commercial hustle for a teen's allowance. This apparently satisfies the MSM that in turn promotes this decrepit nonsense because it generates advertising revenue. Perhaps as Dr. Bri intimated, it's more of an honor to be ignored than recognized by the Grammys.

CHOKEHOLD would have been a Grammy win for AL if he had released it. one of the best pop songs in many years.

The Grammy downfall has been many years in the making. The performances have suffered in last couple of years. Ratings have taken a hard hit. The only thing I can think of boosting the Grammy ratings is Adam Lambert hosting the soiree. Congratulations for a P!NK nom. She deserves it.

The Grammy is as inscrutable as Gramma and if her aim is hit and miss, her vision is suspect and she needs to either retire or be replaced. True, that Dr. Brian May's kind words mean more to Adam and us than a Grammy recognition, as he knows Adam's worth and value to the musical world. atm

NKlovesAdam, you nailed it! I 100% agree. Adam Lambert is a walking talking singing award. He doesn't need a little trophy!
He is a gift to the world and our love for him is so deep. Utmost respect for the brilliant and kind Brian May. He GETS IT!!!!!

Brian May is such a classy guy!! Love him!!! He really knows how to call a spade a spade - no mixing words with him!! The Grammy's just ain't what they used to be! So true!! Adam knows this too. He is an international super star - unlike many of those who got "nom'd" by the Grammy's last night.

I am willing to bet Adam will be receiving awards from other countries for sure! Then, the Grammy's will look all the more ridiculous - that they can't recognize great talent.

I like Dr. May's way of thinking.

Thank you Dr. Bri for supporting Adam. You are a true friend to Adam and we love you for that.

Adam's not mainstream - isn't that why we love him? He'll be fine - and he's having a great life doing lots of interesting things so I don't see it as a big deal that he didn't get a nomination. It frees us from having to sit through the boring old Grammy's just to catch a few minutes of Adam (which I would do, of course).

Trespassing is the best album released in 2012 - anyone who loves music knows this to be true !!! Adam Lambert's talent surpasses any award !!!

Hey Adam you make music for its artistic sake and indulgence; you don't make music just to get accepted by those few nuts voting for and monopolizing the Grammy's. If the Grammy's acceptance is so important to you, remember you still have a chance in the future. This is not your last album, is it? Try again dude. Love ya. (Like he's gonna read this.)

Agree with @NKlovesAdam, @ DRG & @choons.
Yes, it's not his Grammy time yet but it will come.
And no noms for JB, 1D and NM is justice enough for me for now.
And yes, ADAM is a global superstar!

Brian May is absolutely wonderful. Adam't TP album was the best pop album of the year. I will not watch the Grammys for the first time in 40 years due to their omission. But I love the fact Adam has the respect from legends like Brian May. That makes today so much better. Adam will be iconic and anyone that doubts that hasn't seen him perform.

Great photo. I bet Adam was pleased to meet Jessie J - he's a fan of hers.
