I don't use Twitter, so if Sauli's tweet says 3:18 AM on February 15TH, does that mean that Sauli sent the tweet from possibly Finland?

8:28 good question I live in Ohio and it's 11:32 pm thursday.

I saw this discussion yesterday on another discussion board. Apparently, if your twitter is international like Sauli's, the the dates post as if you were always in your home country. So only the date is wrong in Sauli's twitter and he is not yet in Finland.

When you travel your IPhone or any smart phone adjusts to the local time where you are located.
So it stamps the time where you are.

Thanks for that answer! Therefore, when Sauli sent the tweet, even though he was in Los Angeles, the time and date in Finland was 3:18 AM on February 15TH. EMAIL is just the opposite. My daughter lives overseas and the time difference is 8 hours from my time. But, when I receive her emails, they always state the time in my zone that I receive the email. How interesting.

@ 9:02, you are right-so Sauli sent that tweet from somewhere in Europe. This sounds much more logical.

Sauli said he'd be going to Finland next week. So, he'll have time to water all the plants and get in a few jogs on the trails and soak up some sunshine before heading up north.

On his twitter setting he set the time and date as in Finland. So where ever he goes his tweets will be stamped in Finland time and date.

Yes, any smart phone will adjust to the local time where you are automatically if you chose that set-up BUT IF NOT, it stays as your original location UNLESS it asks you IF you want your date/time adjusted.

I live in California and Sauli's tweet says Feb 14th @ 7:14pm which was 6 hours ago.

He has Finland time and date setup for all his internet public communication sites. His twitter and blogs all have Finland time and date. His set auto-adjust time and date off cause he has to indicate his location. A lot of people turn auto-adjust off. I have everything setup with Los Angeles time and date.

Thanks for the info. Interesting options on social media. I overheard someone complaining that she had accidentally put her phone on Moscow time. That explains that.
