VIA UT San Diego:

North County-raised pop star Adam Lambert and Encinitas-sprung alt-rockers Switchfoot will join Grammy-winning Train, country singer Martina McBride, classic rockers The Steve Miller Band, and many other big-name acts on San Diego County Fair’s grandstand lineup this summer, fair officials announced today.

This year’s grandstand lineup includes a variety of pop, classic rock, Latino, gospel and oldies acts. The fair’s 27-day run will open June 8 with The Beach Boys (not the original lineup but a group headed by original member Mike Love) and will close July 4 with the Happy Together Tour, featuring The Turtles and San Diego-raised Gary Puckett with his Union Gap.

Lambert, who grew up in Rancho Peñasquitos and was working in L.A.’s musical theater scene before he shot to fame in 2009 on Fox’s “American Idol,” has carved a niche in the dance/pop charts. The 31-year-old singer has been doing dates internationally in support of his second album, “Trespassing,” as well as several European concerts fronting the rock band Queen. He performs a paid show July 2.

Godd to read that Adam will be performing here at home this summer for the SD county fair. I guess he will be working on his third album also and needs to keep the juices flowing by performing and feeling the love from the audience there. And I'm sure there will be so much more going on with Adam between March and this summer. As long as we continue to get videos of his performances, I will be happy. If he decides to come to the east coast, the NYC/NJ area then I would absolutely love to see him in concert here.

Our guy slowly filling up his dance card. I have my eye on the Miami Beach Gay Pride weekend. Does anybody know how many the grand stand holds in SD?

If one of my daughters can go and if able to get decent tickets I will be there! I don't know any Glamberts in Charlotte, unfortunately, but would love to meet fellow Glamberts! Glitzy, Adamluv and Daydreamin, especially!
I have my eye on Miami too, but already have ticket to Ft Lauderdale May 3,2 weeks later and am not sure yet, as will be in Cancun also in May for a week. Trying to justify expense and time away from real life! Adam is sure worth it tho'!

Nice review. Full review at:

I went crazy for a while because he did a cover of one of my all time favourite songs ever, “Is This Love” by Bob Marley. I was singing along like nobody’s business. He also played his hits, he was especially wonderful when he sang “What Do You Want From Me”. His band was fascinating. He had these two big mama looking back up singers that were so sassy, and two male dancers both incredibly fierce, his costumes were so glamourous with studded leather and dramatic fringes. It was everything I would expect an Adam Lambert concert to be.

Oh my, that line up of performers! My 1970's crush Gary Puckett of the union gap.....my type....tall, scrawny and cadaverish looking! I still have his Young Girl on my playlist!......JAK

I'll be staying at a resort near San Diego that week with my daughter and 3 granddaughters, so plan on buying tickets for all of us and making a day of it at the Fair, with seeing Adam as the cherry on the cake! All 'my girls' love Adam, so it should be a real treat. Soooo happy he will be performing in the US again. Yippee!

If you call the fairgrounds and get their secret code, you can get tickets immediately instead of waiting until Saturday when they go on sale to the public!!!! Isn't it wonderful to have Adam back performing in the States.

Coming from Portland Oregon - it's wonderful we finally have a venue that is reasonably close. My first ever AL concert!!!!!

I'm truly enjoying the design and layout of your website. It's a very easy on the eyes which
makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more
often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme?
Excellent work!
