hey adamluv. this is my first time posting on this blog but i have read this blog for a long time. i don't follow adam all the time but when i am interested in a singer, i keep track of his concerts...
you seem like you know a lot of stuff. i was wondering, do u know if adam's tour overseas will ever expand to the americas? i live in the new york and its crazy that when i check for adam's concerts in the upcoming months, there's no adam's name on it. so do you know if adam plans on playing anywhere in new york? like i said, i don't keep up with everything. i just want to see him in one of his concerts.
SW is one of my faves, too. I miss hearing it. I hope he puts Underneath and Stay back in the setlist, at least for Helsinki. I think the Helsinki show will REALLY be special. But can't wait for Kiev and St. Petersburg, either!
7:52, I know you asked adamluv about Adam's U.S. concerts, but I'll give you some info and she can add to it. Adam has no U.S. tour planned at this time. He has two performances scheduled so far. April 14 in Miami and July 2 in San Diego. He will be workiing on his next album when he gets back from Helsinki. Hopefully, he'll have more one-off performances scheduled for the summer and fall, maybe in the New York area. Stayed tuned herr\e and keep posted.
Glad to have you aboard. This is an interesting Adam fansite, to say the least.
I missed Adam's fiery rock-god singing so much at the latest live concert. It still puzzles me why he changed his dynamic style of singing with passion such as in Sleepwalker, Soaked etc. If he had done Runnin, for example, that would have given the concert a more lasting impact instead of singing covers which were less impacting. Even Mad World with just piano would have made the night for me and everyone in the theatre most likely. A mix of acoustic songs and the mostly pop he did, would have been more interesting. Maybe Adam needs expert concert/choreography advice for the next one. I'd still be there at his next concert simply because no one else interests me. lol! Also, Adam why is there a seeming avoidance of singing your magnificent high notes...the only reason I can think of is you want your voice to last longer...but at least a few are necessary to keep that fire of yours burning because that separates the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. From my concert-going daughter's perspective, she says this is one of the less loud ones when I asked why the band/sound was so loud, to the extent of competing for attention with Adam's voice. If you watch the I Want To Break Free video, you will notice Roger stops the loud banging, instead enticingly hits the cymbals, for Adam to project his fiery high note at the end of the song. Roger knows that is what people want to hear not the incessant loud band. Now back to my daughter's perspective; her actual words: "I don't do pop anymore." But she kept saying Adam is a very good performer; she goes to many musicals eg. Le Mis, both the stage as well as the film. We saw Phantom of the Opera together when it came here. The strange thing is she keeps saying she likes Adam's shoulder spikes, which was the least of my problem regarding Adam's concert that night. lol!
When I took a trip to LA I was fortunate to attend one of Adam's concerts at the Jimmy Kimmel show, the stage was set up at the back of the studio and Adam performed 4 songs from his TP album just before it's release. Adam was on fire the way he sang those songs was perfect hitting all the high notes there was no compromising. The band sounded great, not too loud or drowning out Adam's voice. Of course because it was a televised program, technicians worked all afternoon to get the sound just right, we could see them at work while waiting in line for the concert and during Adam's sound check. Just wondering if the various venues Adam performs in may be part of the problem when it comes to sound issues.
As far as Adam preserving his voice, I really think he is very sensible to do this as much as we all love the high notes, I'd hate to see him end up like Adele needing throat surgery, we all know Adam has the ability to reach high notes but my guess is that he knows best and is wise not to over use his voice. I have personally still enjoyed watching his latest concerts for me he still sounds great and still continues to be extremely entertaining. Pop singers do far more singing than most artists, and many end up ruining their voices over the years, Adam is a star but you can't expect a star performance everytime if we want him to have longevity in he pop industry.
I personally believe that Adam has lost a lot of his fire during his concerts. When I heard him sing Sleepwalker live in August, 2010, his voice really moved me. This new tour of his, which is almost over, did not showcase his incredible talent. He needs an excellent manager, but these guys cost big bucks. Adam said himself that he and his band put the whole set list together for this tour. I think he is working on a very limited budget. I, too, really miss his incredible powerhouse voice. His pop songs on this last CD just became old hat way too fast-he needs a kickass rock CD that showcases his killer voice. The pop scene is just getting old and lack lustre. Adam has so much more talent than this latest tour displays. I keep going back to his David Bowie medley (post Idol tour) and his Queen concerts for some real entertainment. I hope a "CHANGE IS GONNA COME" for Adam's next CD.
Seeing Sleepwalker again reminded me how passionate and exciting Adam was during the GNT. I find myself going back to all of his previous performances and they all feel so new. Excellence is timelessand Adam is building a wealth of excellence. His talent is and always will be timeless.
9:02 Yes I get your points of view which I have stated before too; but that night his signature high notes were almost absent, except for Fever and probably a couple more; just once or twice and the band competed with them. Don't be mistaken, I also like Adam's rich lower tenor but overall it was not the typical Adam style of dynamic singing; even resembling a little karaoke, which is fine but most of us came for his specialised, skilled singing like his voice projections which I struggled to hear above the loud band. So he shouldn't diminish most of the high notes...that's his signature. Keep a few at least and make sure the band stops the banging at those points exactly like what I pointed out what Roger did to let Adam's high notes soar and then Roger comes back in with a huge bang to end the song with a stylish flurry. That night Adam had to sing above the loud band right through except for WWFM and first half of OOL, when the drums finally relented. Yes I do think the tweaking and fine tuning of the sound system of different venues make a difference, like his AMA and even the latest Diva, Ray of Light performances testify to that. So my suggestion was if I could have just 2 acoustic songs from Adam to hear his voice and high notes with just guitar or piano and some light accompaniment; that's all I ask, I certainly do not want him wailing and rock-screaming too much either; I do have his concern for his voice at heart too. He did that kind of dynamic singing for his GNT and that was 110 concerts; now it's about 10+.
Sleepwalker never fails to give me massive goosies - it's superb! I'd love Adam to write another song with Ryan Tedder. He'll be in Australia to be a mentor on The Voice Australia this year.
Adam's voice can be heard much more distinctly when his 2 backup vocals aren't singing. They tend to drown out his notes but Adam loves them so I guess we're going to hear a lot more from them AND before you all scream at me, I'm NOT a troll.
To the person who asked for a USA concert....I'm in the USA too and I don't mind when Adam tours around the world. We get to see him online unlike the old days where it takes months for a video to show up online. Now it only takes like 30 minutes for a video to get uploaded. I'm so glad we live in such a good time when things are so easily accessible. Makes being a fan very easy and easy to get updated on our favorite singers.
Lam -my has heard Adam live recently, otherwise the rest of us are watching youtube videos and that sound is being recorded on cell phones and played back through computer speakers. Very hard to judge Adam's voice from that. I've notice sometimes the backup singers aren't singing and it is actually the audience singing over Adam.
I think Adam sounds great. Like somebody said, he doesn't need to use his 4 octaves voice because he would need throat surgery like Adele. Choreographers/producers const a lot of money. Adam didn't need to spend them just for few conserts. Don't forget that Adam needs to save few $$$$$$$$$$ for his new album. @10:09PM You aren't a troll. I never liked these two "divas":D But actually, they are doing much better now. Also, it seems that the press like them and dancers because whole team continues the show during the time Adam changes the costumes. I read about it in many articles.
I don't listen to Adam's CDs or go to his concerts to hear his high notes or his rock screams. I love all of his voice and I'm glad he's taking care of It. It's his livelihood, and he's lucky it wasn't wasn't damaged by the intensity of his Glam Nation concerts. I haven't been underwhelmed by his WAG concerts at all altho' I always prefer artists to sing their own songs rather than covers & Adam has a lot of fine songs of his own to sing. However, maybe he gets bored singing the same songs from his "stable" at each venue and he seems to enjoy putting his spin on another's song and does so brilliantly. I absolutely love his version of Stay. :-)
i agree with the above poster in regards to the fact that Adam doesn't need to use his FULL VOICE POTENTIAL. Or else he will strain his voice and he will need to take a LONG BREAK.
I want to see him perform often. I don't want him to injure his throat and do any danger to his voice. His voice is god sent to human beings and I hope he will do whatever it takes to keep that beautiful voice of his. That's why backup singers are necessary because Adam can't do the whole show himself. The whole band and dancers make the whole show.
I love Adam but I like that he knows that he himself cannot create a perfect show or else he will do damage to his voice.
@10.28 I have also seen Adam live recently on this WAG tour, and there was no sound issue at all, could him above the band on every song.... Yes it was loud but it was a pop/rock concert, you would expect it to be loud with a heavy, thudding base. There was a couple of times where the Vajaysjays sounded off compared to Adam.
HK fan Did you hear any distinct high notes soaring... which ones? other than the beginning of IIHY and end of Fever which was short and competing with the band. But when he sang WWFM, I heard his voice intricacies finally! I've said in an earlier comment, I did hear his voice powering but drowned out by the band. I would've loved what he did on GNT which is also a pop/rock concert...a specific section on just acoustic songs...WWFM, Aftermath, Broken Open; and Soaked was almost operatic. Even two or three would have showcased his specialised high notes and vibrato and his special voice techniques and voice projections. In short, the details of his singing voice were gone even his lower tenor vibrato; so he sounded more or less the same throughout. Of course I could still hear him but not all those intricacies I mentioned; that sets him apart from other pop/rock singers. If he had done a few acoustic arrangements like he did on GNT, the concert would have had greater impact and passion.
Lam-my..12:44 AM Do me a favour please and don't bother going to any more of Adam's concerts if all you are going to do is to criticise him. Your either being very selfish or very naive and showing no consideration for Adam. I totally agree with all the above comments in support of Adam using his voice wisely, however, I have also been enjoying the WAG concerts immensely. Adam's voice always sounds beautiful to me, and the way he covered STAY, my god it was perfect, his version of Tears for Fears song SHOUT was brilliant so sexy, apart from all the other songs not to mention the wonderful entertaining way he always connects with his audience. You might like to cast your mind back to the end of the GNT tour, I saw photos of Adam not long after and he looked totally burnt out, maybe that's why it took him so long to work on his next album he needed time to recover. He doesn't have that same time now he needs to get his next album out quickly so he can't afford to take risks with his voice, never the less he is doing a fantastic job and it's a pity you can't seem to appreciate him for the artist that he is instead of whining about so called high notes.
@9:56 AM That's great news to hear about Adam mentoring on The Voice in Australia. Do you know if this has been confirmed and if so, when it will be taking place?
1:17 This is called honest critique from my personal observations. Regarding, he has to protect his voice...that originally was my idea from a much earlier comment and now you are merely repeating it! Nothing new! I am aware of that. He was so tired on GNT because he did 112 concerts; this time only 10+ and that should not wreck his voice. As I've said if he did an acoustic section, his voice would have been better showcased. For example, WWFM...there wasn't any extra high notes, yet I heard his real tenor voice intricacies and voice projections. I'm not specifically gunning for high notes though that indeed is his signature. An adviser / vetter for his concert would have helped. Sometimes the person involved cannot see their own shortfalls but I do think Adam is an expert in his field of theatre, singing, music. Okay I understand the finance contraints but by my rough estimate, he would have come close to making 5 million with merchandise thrown in for this whole tour of 10+ concerts. Also you are overbearing and ill-mannered to curtly tell me not to attend his concerts! Whoa, so we always have to praise according to you! But not according to Adam. Since you like the song, Shout, which I do too, then what does it mean to you? The song says: Shout, shout let it all out...Now I know why Adam was called an idiot when he critiqued the Le Mis singers as pretending to sing. You have exactly that kind of mindset of those who went against him; but I guess you would not have stood on the other side and ticked off Adam and told him not to attend their musicals. You are a hypocrite! You have learnt nothing from Adam!
Lam-my my dear I always read your comments and it's always love and passion for our Rock God indeed...
I understand your frustrations and honest opinion...
Adam is a good in strategy and he knows how to handle when it's time to relax his voice.... It is important to remember that Adam has a golden voice to look after and not all the time, he has to show the range that isn't necessarily needed...
He is a multitask entertainer so he has to be very careful not to stress his voice too much.
Look what happened to Adele??? She didn't even tour around the world but still she ruined her voice and it's not the same anymore....
I really admire Adams integrity in music.... He is my rock god and no one else can take that away.....:)))
@Lam-my..2:32 AM I've re-read your previous comments and I am still drawn to the same conclusion. I can see that you are obviously disappointed with the WAG concert you attended, if you feel so stongly about it then by all means express your opinion but it seems that for days now you keep going on about it, therefore if you feel so strongly about it, it's probably best that you don't attend another concert or maybe next time rather than standing up near the speakers to the side of the stage as I recall you mentioning, finding another position to listen from can make a world of difference. I genuinely enjoy Adam's voice, for me he doesn't need to hit all the high notes for me to love and enjoy seeing and hearing him sing, that's my opinion. You have taken a lot of what I had to say in my previous post out of context and twisted my words to fit in with your anger towards me. I am in no way being hypocritical, I have simply voiced my opinion in an honest way, it appears in doing so I have hit on a few raw nerves but sometimes the truth can hurt. I guess on this occasion we shall just have to agree to disagree.
I've been reading some interesting info with regards to singers who have recently required throat surgery. These days it seems that most artists make very little money when it comes to recording sales, therefore many of them feel compelled to do intensive touring to make up the loss, the problem with this is that touring takes a terrible toll on the vocal cords. Famous artists such as Adele, Keith Urban and John Meyer have all been forced to cancel touring to undergo throat surgery. These days the operation is performed using a laser, recovery rate is good however it takes a long time and in some cases can lead to a permanent voice change requiring voice training. Most common problems are benign ployps, cysts, granulomas, and nodules. All of these can bleed under the demand for performance. The bleeding can lead to fibrosis or scarring. The scars leave vocal cords less pliable and soft, the voice becomes hoarse and cracks. The first tip off for a singer is when his or her voice does not recover as quickly after a performance. Fortunately Adam seems to be aware of this and so it's a good thing that he is doing his best to preserve his voice when needed rather than running unnecessary risks.
Hello, Lam-my! It's been long since we didn't have a chat, let's have one, now.If I were you I wouldn't bother a bit about the condescending tone the lady adopted.I can understand (to a certain level), her "motherly" concern , voices are precious instruments, of course they should be carefully protected.Classically trained singers, like Adam, learn from the first courses they take how to do it, better than anybody here so quick in giving lessons. But... but,let us not forget, Adam came late to the feast, he is 31 years old , an age when most of the singers know exactly who they are, what musical genre fits them best, have developed a musical style in accordance with this genre, and above all who the target audience is.Adam is still searching for his musical self, and if he doesn't give his audiences all, all meaning wide range, subtle modulations of voice, passion and dramatism when necessary, playfulness and cheekiness sometimes, boldness all the time NOW then when? And , btw ,that's what the audiences from San Diego or Saint Petersburg are expecting, these unique opportunities to listen to a unique voice!
4:00 I think you assume too much and I emphasise I always like what is true and contrary to what you assume, I still like to hear what is true even if it hurts. You didn't hit any raw nerves; you were simply out right obnoxious with your pronouncement. You said this to me: "You're either being selfish or very naive and showing no consideration for Adam." These are very strong accusations!! How can you judge someone you hardly know, like that? What kind of a person are you? And I want to reiterate, Adam has a beautiful voice and this concert did not showcase his voice as it should have, be they high notes or not. There were only 2 or 3 high notes in the one-and-a-half hour concert and the drums drowned them out except for the IIHY beginning. So I'm not asking Adam to sing / hit a lot of high notes! They were not even there to begin with, other than the 2 or 3 mentioned.
Lam-my is right. The concerts lost something when Adam dropped STAY and BE. Those two songs and Underneath sung all together put his subtle interpretive skills on display. TFM and Shout don't require that. GNT was much more demanding and way longer than this tour. He was more into it. Am a troll because I miss heartfelt Adam?
@1:32 AM Sorry, it seems as though my previous comment was a little ambiguous. It is Ryan Tedder who will be mentoring on The Voice Australia, not Adam. Oh, how I wish Adam could be a judge (or a mentor but a judge would be better) on The Voice Australia, and if he had a new album out, it would be a superb chance to promote it PLUS it would give Adam awesome exposure here. Australa also has The X Factor and Australia's Got Talent and Adam would be extremely welcome on these 2 shows as well. If we dream it, it will happen (yeah, probably only in my dreams!).
Quit fighting, folks. It doesn't auger well for Adam to have nasty comments between posters on the web. Adam is the judge of what he can sing, will sing and won't sing and I trust his judgment. If he disappoints some people, so be it. You can't please all of the people all of the time and whinging about it won't change anything. Lucky are those who were able to attend one or more WAG concerts, and no doubt there were many very happy and satisfied fans who attended the concerts.
@Lam-my..5:03 AM How dare you call me obnoxious, you are extremely rude and bad mannered yourself so you are hardly in any position to go judging me. All you have done all week is complain about Adam's concert, your constant whining is over bearing to say the least. You say on one hand that you love Adam but it's obvious your love comes with certain conditions attached because all you have done so far is voice your disapproval. There are many fans who would give anything to be able to attend one of Adam's concerts but for various reasons it just hasn't been possible for them, I'm sure if they had the opportunity they would be only to grateful to be there to see Adam, so instead of complaining try to appreciate just how lucky you are to have seen Adam at all.

I'm surprised Adam's voice wasn't damaged from the GNT tour. 112 concerts almost night after night with very little down time. He said he learnt a lot from that tour and hopefully one of the things he learnt was to take extra special care of his voice. He must've been absolutely exhausted after that tour and yet it sounds as though people think that should be the norm for him. Give Adam a break! He's a person, not a performing puppet and he's been in the business to know which songs he wishes to sing without input from ever-demanding fans.
4:47 So far you seem to answer what I was searching for. Thank you for being so level-minded and clinical about it. Okay so I'll just buy his cds/dvds which are recorded in a studio; that might allow his high notes or even his lower tenor to sound excellent with much less effort and less risk of damaging his vocal chords. Of course I totally agree to that if that indeed is the problem. I do love Adam, I think, not so sure what it is. lol! And I want him to succeed. I like your style. :)
Lam-my
5:16 Thank you for your explanation which I think could have been what I was anticipating and did not get to hear. Yes, "subtle interpretive skills" exactly, and not just high notes as a few here are pointing their fingers at, practically accusing me of forcing Adam to sing high notes. lol! Goodness gracious.
@5:31 AM Thanks for getting back to me, I was so excited thinking that Adam might be mentor for The Voice Australia, but of course I realise that it's Ryan Tedder. I agree it would be great if Adam could appear on any of he programs you mentioned, I'd love to see him back here in Australia, hopefully something may come along in the mean time let's keep our fingers crossed.
Canadian and Pan Thank you for at least trying to figure out what I was doing. lol! By the way I do feel very happy about having seen Adam in concert, not close enough to see his close-up face. If I had been in the first few rows, his facial expressions might have diverted my attention and not concentrate so much on the voice. Overall not disappointed at all. It's just a bit of talking not whining, nothing to whine about as far as Adam is concerned. And I'm extremely proud Singberts gave him such a warm welcome. Love the fact he was leisurely walking on the streets in slippers and singlet! lol!
Sorry lam-my, But I agree to a certain extent with @4.00am You do seem as though you were very disappointed with the concert, and have said so again and again. You also say that you enjoyed it..but that is not coming across in your numerous posts about it, unfortunately you are only focusing on your perceived negatives. Maybe that is whats getting to people. Yes I did hear some high notes at the HK concert, maybe not as many as on the GNT, can't honestly remember. I don't go just to hear the high notes (infact that is one of the reasons my husband won't go...he hates it when he 'screams' his words not mine). I love listening to Adam sing soft and tender, loud and rocking, or pure pop. I'll take him anyway I can.
I get the impression from your posts that you have not been to many concerts (sorry if thats not the case), and maybe you just weren't prepared for what a rock/pop concert is like, the noise level, the crowds, the lights etc.
@5:48 AM I totall agree with you, Adam is not a performing puppet, thank goodness Adam is not afraid to call his own shots and sing the songs he chooses to sing. He is a true professional knowing when to hold back to protect his voice and when he can afford to let go and give it his all. I admire him immensely.
I think Adam is going to pull out all his vocal stops in Helsinki. It will be the final show of the tour, a passionate fanbase, Sauli's home. I'll bet he puts Stay and Underneath back in the setlist. At least I hope he does. I think he has done a magnificient job on the tour. I love those glory notes as much as the rest of you, and I'd love to hear more of them, but I also love what I DO hear. He's a singer with incredible low-end control and tone. He never misses a note and can improvise perfectly. It's a show, not a singing contest. GNT did have that "first-tour" frenzy about it. He had a lot to prove, and he did it. He's still got that magnificent voice. It hasn't gone anywhere. Those full-range, uber-note moments are as goose-bump inducing to me as they ever were. I'll be at the San Diego show. It will be only the fourth time I've seen him live. Can't wait!
Lam-my, I know you love Adam as much as the rest of us. We'd all love those signature notes all the time, but I know he has to balance it out.
HK fan You can check all my previous comments; I've not used the word, disappointed, in Adam's concert, not even once, though it was used by others, like you, to say I was disappointed. So how others feel from what I write, I have no control. My aim was just trying to voice my opinion and critique honestly. In fact you yourself used the word, disappointed, that Adam removed Stay and Underneath from the set-list. Why do you have to say you like Adam singing soft and tender, loud and rocking or pure pop? I like all his different styles as well but my contention is I would have wanted more acoustic songs just like GNT because that would have showcased his "subtle interpretive skills" (5:16). At this WAG concert, WWFM is the only acoustic arrangement when the loud drums finally relented. He had a whole section, acoustic on GNT. Neither do I just go for the high notes! That's not what I said. Check! And by the way Adam doesn't scream, I know it's not your word, but it goes to show our opinions are so varied because we're all different...so quit querying me, very tiresome! Don't appreciate it at all!
I don't think Adam has been holding back at all with these concerts, his voice sounds great but some people are never satisfied and btw, Adam has been nominated for Most Popular International Singer in Global Mandarin Chart Awards, to be held in April. If he wins this it certainly makes the US look rather silly.
Someone said earlier Entitlement is ugly and I couldn't agree more, why can't people just enjoy Adam without picking pieces out of him. Geeez give us a break.
Adam can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, but I'll admit Stay, Underneath, and Broken English are my CURRENT favs. I actually have too many favs to mention. Also Adam and Queen! - Who wants to live forever and The show must go on (sigh)...nancdruuu2
You know all those people who asked you for your honest opinion of the concert? It seems they didn't mean it. Next time just tell them what they want to hear "it was perfection"! BTW I agree with you, the Singapore concert was one of the less spectacular ones, when I watched it I thought "maybe he's not feeling well". NS
I can only speak for myself but I do appreciate and always contemplate what I perceive to be genuine assessments of Adam's concerts (I hate people who pontificate about his personal life, but about a concert performance I am open to reading anything written with an attempt at genuine consideration)... HOWEVER, let me put into quotes on of Lam-my's sentences that I have to admit did rub me the wrong way (btw, this is my first time posting in this thread, I am not any of the previous posters):
"...and this concert did not showcase his voice as it should have..."
THAT is a written as a very black and white statement. I guess I should consider it as an OPINION, I guess it should be a given, should be assumed, that it is merely an opinion, as any and all of us are only sharing opinions most of the time (with the obvious exceptions of FACTS like concert dates and such) but the way in which that sentence, and sometimes others, are written in a tone that they are an absolute matter of fact not open for interpretation does bother me. It is a matter of opinion that the concert in question did not showcase Adam's vocal talent as "it should have". I found the concert to contain many a layered and textured vocal, full of depth and richness and technique. I do not think everything is perfect, like that one (or few) posters keeps commenting that all fans want to purport, that we just should all fall in line, in step, and agree that Adam is fabulous all the time... BUT, I personally, my point of view, was that the concert did showcase his vocal prowess beautifully. I think it is a rare statement that can be made as an absolute matter of fact and in a black & white manner... and we on this blog make our comments forgetting that very often I find, myself included, but I try to recognize it when I do.
@lam-my I never said you used the word disappointed...I said you SEEMED very disappointed from your numerous posts on the subject,you may not have used the word, but you implied it several times. That may not have been your intent when writing, but that is the way it comes across for us reading it. I also said sorry if that wasn't the case, but the negativity is what is coming across in your posts, far more than any positive comments. Yes I said I was disappointed that stay and underneath were removed from the set list, not because I didn't like shout or TFM, loved them...I just wanted it all!! At the end of the day, this is a blog site, and people are going to agree and disagree on things, just the way it is, as long as we're all civil about it.
NS Finally an absolute agreement. Thank you for speaking your mind, not because you agree with me; you felt and saw what I did and you articulate it. Actually that was all of my intention and certainly 100% not to run him down. Why would I want to do that...as I've said he's the only one who lights my fire er of what is left. lol! But I didn't think he was not well because in the day, here, he was seen walking around Universal Studios in slippers and singlet...plit plat plit plat lol! That's what slippers actually sound like; sometimes I do it on purpose to irritate people I don't like! lol! Okay, so I had to write about it here hoping to get some answers...I've followed Adam for 4 years now; no way I'm going to run him down...like a Singaporean would say...for what? lol! Final analysis, I am really happy to have attended Adam's concert regardless if it met my expectations...because I know the real thing or close to it; very important to me, not just about Adam's concert; simply I want to know, that's all...yes from this angle Adam delivered as far as I'm concerned. Thank you for speaking up. At least now I can say, I'm not alone...Adam always uses these words especially before he sings OOL. And this is just for you only...a European / American lady sitting right in front of me, left half way, probably to do some personal things; came back after 20 minutes...this is what I saw, she may have something urgent to attend to. But generally, no one left, they asked for encores, we got two not just one and when the stage lights finally were switched off, everyone stood for a couple more minutes hoping he might just reappear. lol! We do love Adam, regardless.

I think it would be great if Adam sings 'Sleepwalker' at the Kiev concert it was a huge hit in Europe and one of my favourites.
One of my favorites too, and that long coat just added to the performance. So dramatic. Wish he'd sing it again in his concerts. . . . . Adamluv
I like SW too but I have so many faves his concert would last 4 hours if he did all my picks. lol
I'm not digging the reggae tunes on the setlist. I think they don't fit with the rest of the songs well.
hey adamluv. this is my first time posting on this blog but i have read this blog for a long time. i don't follow adam all the time but when i am interested in a singer, i keep track of his concerts...
you seem like you know a lot of stuff. i was wondering, do u know if adam's tour overseas will ever expand to the americas? i live in the new york and its crazy that when i check for adam's concerts in the upcoming months, there's no adam's name on it. so do you know if adam plans on playing anywhere in new york? like i said, i don't keep up with everything. i just want to see him in one of his concerts.
Talk about "powerhouse vocals", Sleepwalker, IMO, is one of those! One of my very favs that Adam performed live....Please let him do it in Kiev <333
CT

Yes I get your points of view which I have stated before too; but that night his signature high notes were almost absent, except for Fever and probably a couple more; just once or twice and the band competed with them.

Did someone say Sleepwalker?
OMG YES PLEASE!!!!~~
Loved Sleepwalker, actually it was my second fav off of 1st album after "FYE"

Thank you for words of wisdom. :)

@10.28
I have also seen Adam live recently on this WAG tour, and there was no sound issue at all, could him above the band on every song....
Yes it was loud but it was a pop/rock concert, you would expect it to be loud with a heavy, thudding base.
There was a couple of times where the Vajaysjays sounded off compared to Adam.
HK fan
Did you hear any distinct high notes soaring... which ones? other than the beginning of IIHY and end of Fever which was short and competing with the band.

Lam-my..12:44 AM
Do me a favour please and don't bother going to any more of Adam's concerts if all you are going to do is to criticise him.
@9:56 AM
That's great news to hear about Adam mentoring on The Voice in Australia. Do you know if this has been confirmed and if so, when it will be taking place?
1:17
This is called honest critique from my personal observations.
Lam-my
Lam-my my dear I always read your comments and it's always love and passion for our Rock God indeed...

@Lam-my..2:32 AM
I've re-read your previous comments and I am still drawn to the same conclusion.
4:00
I think you assume too much and I emphasise I always like what is true and contrary to what you assume, I still like to hear what is true even if it hurts.
Lam-my
Lam-my is right.
@1:32 AM
Sorry, it seems as though my previous comment was a little ambiguous.
@Lam-my..5:03 AM
How dare you call me obnoxious, you are extremely rude and bad mannered yourself so you are hardly in any position to go judging me.

4:47
So far you seem to answer what I was searching for. :)

Thank you for your explanation which I think could have been what I was anticipating and did not get to hear. Yes, "subtle interpretive skills" exactly, and not just high notes as a few here are pointing their fingers at, practically accusing me of forcing Adam to sing high notes. lol! Goodness gracious.
Lam-my
Entitlement is ugly.
@5:31 AM
Thanks for getting back to me, I was so excited thinking that Adam might be mentor for The Voice Australia, but of course I realise that it's Ryan Tedder. I agree it would be great if Adam could appear on any of he programs you mentioned, I'd love to see him back here in Australia, hopefully something may come along in the mean time let's keep our fingers crossed.
Canadian and Pan
Thank you for at least trying to figure out what I was doing.
Love the fact he was leisurely walking on the streets in slippers and singlet! lol!
Lam-my
Sorry lam-my,
But I agree to a certain extent with @4.00am
You do seem as though you were very disappointed with the concert, and have said so again and again.
@5:48 AM
I totall agree with you, Adam is not a performing puppet, thank goodness Adam is not afraid to call his own shots and sing the songs he chooses to sing.
DRG
I have the GNT Live cd. They couldn't release a live cd with this band and the backup singers.

You can check all my previous comments; I've not used the word, disappointed, in Adam's concert, not even once, though it was used by others, like you, to say I was disappointed.
Lam-my
I don't think Adam has been holding back at all with these concerts, his voice sounds great but some people are never satisfied and btw, Adam has been nominated for Most Popular International Singer in Global Mandarin Chart Awards, to be held in April. If he wins this it certainly makes the US look rather silly.
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNTl4NzQ3Mzg4.html
Someone said earlier Entitlement is ugly and I couldn't agree more, why can't people just enjoy Adam without picking pieces out of him. Geeez give us a break.
Adam can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, but I'll admit Stay, Underneath, and Broken English are my CURRENT favs. I actually have too many favs to mention. Also Adam and Queen! - Who wants to live forever and The show must go on (sigh)...nancdruuu2
Lam-my
You know all those people who asked you for your honest opinion of the concert? It seems they didn't mean it.
Next time just tell them what they want to hear "it was perfection"! BTW I agree with you, the Singapore concert was one of the less spectacular ones, when I watched it I thought "maybe he's not feeling well". NS
@10:26 and Lam-my
I can only speak for myself but I do appreciate and always contemplate what I perceive to be genuine assessments of Adam's concerts (I hate people who pontificate about his personal life, but about a concert performance I am open to reading anything written with an attempt at genuine consideration)...
Looking forward to Kiev :)
@lam-my
I never said you used the word disappointed...I said you SEEMED very disappointed from your numerous posts on the subject,you may not have used the word, but you implied it several times.
NS
Finally an absolute agreement.
