Rock & ballads to showcase Adam's amazing vocals!!!

Anonymous said...

Rock and ballads also, plus not so much about gay oppression. If he wants to get on radio, he must be more generic, and NO swear words. He will appeal to more people. He has the looks, the voice, and the personality to be an A-1 singer, he hasn't quite reached that yet, because of radio and TV, who have snubbed him.

@11:51 A.M., I was going to write something similar to what you wrote, but I think what you wrote is better than what I would have written.

We love your powerful amazing one of a kind Vocals!!!

Funny with the very same album he did so well most places abroad especially Asian not just Asia. Got favorite international artist. Nominated again in Hungary won same award 2011. I loved him on Vh1Diva's, PLL. Also liked him on Ellen show, Jay Leno GmA last year what's happening live, G Norton show singing NCOE. He has done TV, I don't believed he all that shunned oh yea Wendy Williams couple others promoting Diva's! He done some TV. He was the host and performed three times on Diva's! I do think he should stick to the singing on this one, with some rock. The cuss words would be better to leave put but that can be left put, for radio but best for all age groups. But man how many sings from popular artist on I tunes have racy one and regular one! When he ask an opinion best to say what you like to hear and not down everything else. Trespassing was a good album. I think he should show case those one of a kind vocals like crazy.he got his feeling out on the other. Adam just use so crazy vocals and sing great pop and some rock and wish you get Brian in on one!

It's only in the US that Adam has been snubbed, his TP album has done exceptionally well in Asia and in Europe. Adam's TP album is totally unique and a real work of art compared so many other artists who all sound the same. I hope Adam does not feel pressure to have to conform to much to the mainstream to be successful, for me his originality is what makes him so appealing.

11 51 totally agree. Rock is his calling it seems. Watching the video someone posted of him and David Cook and Kris Allen proves it as much. Listen to Adam in comparison, nothing against the other 2 but Adam can sing Rock music through the roof or in that case through the sky.
I hope he stick to his guns and changes things up a bit and does what he hasnt quite done as of yet and full out blown ROCK ALBUM.

Anonymous said...

I don't think he's been snubbed in US. the summer promo concerts were well attended.
When Adam came off of Idol he looked exciting and sexy - still does, but the media and his pr have made him a poster boy instead of a rock, glam whatever. He has been made or wants to wear too many hats.
I really like him so much, but I prefer that boy that just came off of Idol and could do sexy like no other.
Answer to question: i like both albums, but most of the songs on Trespassing Adam did not sing live. Glamnation tour was AMAZING. Trespassing no dancers till the end and NO choreography that was relatable. He will always reinvent and will be and is worldwide star.

As much as I want Adam to be a #1 top seller, I don't want him to compromise too much and not be the Adam we love. I love him for what he is and always have. I realize the pitfalls of "staying true to yourself" and of trying to be marketable.

Well anyone with eyes can see there no comparison between those two you mentioned and Adam. But I'll be told not to down people. They are talented but not in the same class as Adam no where near it. Does not matter what band is behind him he is the star and reason they are watching are bought the ticket! I got to admit love to hear a rock album of Adam. But what just want to hear the great vocals. Trespassing was a good album and did very well abroad! Sue

David Cooke and Kris Allen are both extremely talented, but what stands out for me is how they both sound so similar to so many others. Adam should stay true to himself, he can and does out shine most other artists, I'm sure we can expect another quality album from Adam and it will be interesting to see what he comes up with, but with his huge talent I know it will be amazing.

Anonymous said...

I think Trespassing is an amazing album, it's the only album that I have ever had trouble choosing a favourite on, most other artists albums only have one or two I might like and the rest I will leave, but with Adam's I can listen to each and every song and never tire of them. How many other artists have the same ability to capture the listener and hold onto them in such a way, not too many, in fact very few. I just love this man and I love his music, whether it's rock, pop, or ballads, he is so versatile and these qualities make Adam so special.

Anonymous said...

Trespassing was and is a cohesive very good album. As I said only one I listen to while driving! Sue

Anonymous said...

Trespassing is better album than Fye. More good songs and more cohesive album, imo. I like Aftermath and Sleepwalker (both are rock). Recently I've been listening to Hurts (synth pop). I listen to many artists and different music genres, Ricky Martin for example.

Anonymous said...

Lol, Sue and I posted the same time and we agree Trespassing is a cohesive album. :)

Anonymous said...

Someone nailed it here KA And DC are talented but they do sound like so many other artists! ad is so unique, so special and such a terrific concert performer! Like on idol you just cannot wait to see what he will do even if he done it before every time it's special, like a concert. He so dynamic and burst onto the stage with such energy such love for what he does. He different from the pack that's made it harder in some respects but that talent will win out, because it is superior to so many out there today greatly successful or not! They so appreciate him abroad as a stage artist, and that album did very well lot of area's abroad! Whatever he does with this one it will be good he a very good song writer as well as singer! I think he wants opinions to, to get a feel for what people like! Sue

Anonymous said...

Definitely 2.08 it is cohesive that does not happen much on albums! Sue

Anonymous said...

Maybe I'm totally wrong, but IMO none of you is answering his question "What has been your favorite album so far? I think he meant in general... He wants to know what kind of music his fans prefer, which singers, which bands etc.
(if he meant only his own albums, don't you think he would have asked, which one is your favorite, FYE or TSP?)

Anonymous said...

@1:21 P.M. Another good post. Yes, Adam is wearing too many hats now. Adam was the darling in the U.S. right after Idol and even after the Rolling Stone magazine. He was on television and in magazines. The raw wild Adam with untamed sex appeal is the Adam that's gotten a little lost. The Adam before his band (mainly Tommy), dancers (Terrance and Johnny), backup singers, antics, and shenanigans, was Mind Blowing! He was the main and only attraction. Adam is still Great, but some people are trying to turn him in to more of an advocate instead of letting him be the boy who just wanted to sing and entertain.

Anonymous said...

Adam hasn't been writing songs about gay oppression and he isn't being snubbed in the US. And how many times does he have to say he doesn't want to do rock he want to do pop.

Anonymous said...

The dancers are not the problem. Johnny just danced on Glee. I've had enough of Tommy. I don't even bother to go to see Adam, as long as he keeps Tommy is in his band.

Anonymous said...

i think he meant in general too, not which is his two albums. If he was asking about his albums he would ask which song, I think.

Anonymous said...

Same person keeps blabbing about Tommy. Get over it Adam wants TRJ to stay. They like each other and Tommy plays beautifully. Buff said!!!

we are always saying we want Adam to be himself. But want to change is band, back up singers, dancer's. also every time he changes his hair some liked what ever it was before , but some did'nt like that until he change it. Whatever Adam was in 2009 he evolved and will always keep changing! artist have to change one reason Madonna been around thirty years constant change, for years. I know some like the old Adam I did a lot but the up to date one as well. He always gonna Change his style and looks. Myself I think he crazy handsome right now. Whatever look he the same talented man from 2009 until now. Yes he great rock singer I loved to hear some from him. But, afraid that will mostly be with queen what a treat that was and hopefully again. Adam has said pop is what he mostly listens too and gets bigger sales. Trespassing sold well abroad the singles well still dropping singles abroad. Just gave naked love to radio station in Hong Kong. Not sure just a Rick album would go over as well abroad as pop has, they love pop and Asia, Russia, Finland Africa and others are a big market for Adam. So I suspect it will be pop maybe some with a rock edge which he done before. I think the record company tried to change him but evolved quickly back to himself. He not gonna stay looking just like he did then, nor is he gonna do the same act over and over GNT is behind him now, it was great loved what he did with trespassing here and abroad! He was on idol last year did a lot of TV after album out. He will do it again when new single and album out! I think lot of people are trying to fix what's not broken. Yes I hope he gets more recognition for his new album here. But he is something nearly everyone from Idol is not an international star he also gonna want to please so international area's he has sold well at, just why he asking there opinion. Trying to do what most liked for next album! Where is Adam wearing to many hats except he has to travel a lot because if his popularity abroad. Guess talking about his concert, he got very good reviews for those concerts, see nothing wrong. He will do things different ways for new album. I think 3.21 is right he asking about different kinda of music he wants he album to please and be current. I not gonna try Change Adam ever I want him to be himself and evolve into what he happy with! Also Adam is gay and he not oppressed he sings his feeling of his life experiences, gay people have had struggles straight people will never understand. For most part that Adam except for one song was not about gay, out law of love had many meanings to be found. For the most part trespassing was a very good pop, dance ballad album! Sue

Adam is distinctive in every way. He doesn't blend in with anyone else, either in voice or style or looks. He is completely unique. Others may sing just fine and be pleasant, but he has the IT factor that makes him special.

He is constantly tweeting new albums and singles that he thinks are great. We all don't always agree with him, which is probably why he is asking what would we like to hear. He can sing anything I often like when he goes regae (sp
love when he does rock and pop.I think he needs to have a lot of dance music. I think he could do well with a holiday album, not Christian or Jewish, just generic music winter songs. Some of the biggest stars have done very well with it. That would be for his 4th album, or even a couple of singles.

I honestly do not get what the problem with THR is. Very good guitar player, adds a lot to the band.what has he some that your fed up with him. I hope it's not that very old news of four years ago that water under the bridge!

Adam's question was a little vague, at least for me, but I want to just make a comment or two about both of HIS albums. I've been concentrating on Trespassing for almost a year now, but recently have been revisiting FYE. I have say I honestly love both of them for different reasons. FYE is an amazing and diverse piece of work especially considering the fact that it was put together during the Idol Tour and in the space of just a couple of months. Trespassing is his "baby" and full of so much personal meaning to Adam. I never tire of listening to both albums. Excited to see what Adam envisions and creates for Era 3. He may just surprise us...again!!

I tried relaying those exact sentiments in the beginning and got my head chewed off. Guess you have to have a face to be bullied.
I love that Adam is true to himself and comfortable at expressing it, but agree that it was too much for the American mainstream. And to those who disagree-you have a right to your opinion also.
Time will tell who's correct.

Anonymous said...

3:46 He is more of an advocate. In the beginning he wasn't going to be a poster child. Then he started being one. He lost a lot of mainstream and in return his community did not support him. He does a lot of concerts and benefits for them. Seems he is wearing a lot of hats and doesn't seem to be coming together under one hat. It's very unfortunate but IMOP that's the way it is.

Listen when you are a celebrity it happens, they all stand for something. Glaad does seem to support him wish you had listen to that over he. Program the other day it was so good. Showed a lot if love for Adam, they toy do not think he has within that community! The third album coming. He done few things for gay rights lately. But with new album he will consentrate mainly on that. He is who he is all over the world a support the very same man while heartedly abroad, and he very mainstream in Asia and other's. I believe out law of love is a favorite in Asia. Adam does what is needed! He will put all the efforts in new album when out! It will go primarily on new album. But I am sure he will still not please , something else must be corrected. Let Adam live his life please!

Anonymous said...

Trespassing was a good album but I think Adam can do better. My choice would not be a song written by Bruno Mars (NCOE) or anyone else. I want a song written by Adam like Shady, Runnin' and Pop That Lock. What Adam does in his concerts is to turn these songs into Rock. I've seen him so many times and always love his Rock/Pop/Dance music infused with funk or a reggae sound! Ya just can't put him in a box! Favorite song on Trespassing is Shady...Naked Love is a close second although not written by Adam but it was released in China as a single. Third choice would be Cuckoo. Kids love singing this one!

Anonymous said...

Adam said he didn't want to be the poster boy for the LBGT community. But look at what's happened in the last 4 years! I'm so proud of Adam's stand on Gay marriage and things are changing. So many celebrities, politicians and now a sports figure has come out and many others lend their support for equality. Adam has taken a hit here in American, land of the free, but he will rise again by his sheer raw talent and tenacity.

Anonymous said...

Great comments about Adam, his albums, song choices and style, commitment to the gay community, etc. There are so many different things we seem to want from Adam. But I think we can all agree that he deserves the recognition and success for his music that he hasn't necessarily received here at home as much as in Asia and parts of Europe. He deserves to be known for those powerhouse vocals and not mainly for his sexual preference. He deserves to get radio play for singles that are so much better than most of the mediocre, crass, meaningless stuff heard ad nauseum each day. He deserves all the best that the music business has to offer for an individual who is articulate, charming, intelligent, honest and humble. These are rare qualities you don't find in most of today's performers. Adam Lambert has so much more to offer us and I can't wait to see what direction his third album will take. Yes, he is "one of a kind."

Anonymous said...

The date of release of Trespassing was a very bad time astrologically speaking. It was exactly at a planetary aspect that's bad for sales and his management was contacted to have it moved a few days early or a couple of weeks after but . . . this is the result. It's why it did very well in other places where release date was later than US.

Timing is everything especially in starting something in business. Sure hope they (label & management) learned their lesson.

Anonymous said...

Just a word about swear words. We know they are sprinkled through modern music, unfortunately. You talk about his great acceptance in Asia, in many of those performances you notice he used damn instead of fuck and did not use the word ass . He was apparently told to censor himself and he did. I don't think the use of the words enhance a song, so why use them?

I love most of the songs on TP but it is an album written from Adam's personal viewpoint and experience. Perhaps that view is not an all encompassing one in the USA. The critics liked it, but after it's first weeks sales, it did not become a best seller. There is a wide country between the coolness and acceptance of LA and NYC,
The album didn't resonate with all the country.

Unless he plans to be a message singer, his next album needs to be more relatable, things that all of the people will enjoy. Love, loss, fun, longing, joy, dancing and dreaming. We all do that. You are concerned about Adam having to compromise, in life we all have to. Adam can sing for himself and gamble on the success of those songs or he can sing songs of wide appeal and have greater sales and success.

Both his albums have attained much success; so the main reason is to find out in greater detail / depth why his songs are not played as much as they should be on home-ground. For example, Running or Pop That Lock, is not even promoted at all. He whipped up the audience to such a frenzy with Pop That Lock recently in Macau. So why not think of a different approach / strategy to jump start the next album instead of taking the same route. How about say, 8 songs rather than spend almost a whole year to come up with something like 14 songs; and in between there's a long lull, like right now. So if it's 8 songs, he can complete it in a shorter time, release it; and meantime, follow it up with six more...equals 14. This way there's a steady flow of his music. If an enterprise is to flourish, it has to be ongoing at all times not just half the time; by which time, the interest may have dissipated for many fans. In short, the turnover must be quick with accompanying video for a couple of selected favourites. Timing is very important; strike while the iron is hot.

I love both of Adam's albums. There are a couple of songs I skip on FYE but I still love this album madly, as much as I love Trespassing where I don't skip any songs.

Is it official that Naked Love has been released as a single in China? It's my fave track on Trespassing and I'd love to be able to buy it as a single.

Anonymous said...

Yes, he should avid being a messenger with his lyrics and just stay mainstream. But the most important thing is his VOICE should dominate the recording and drop the electronica. That can be done if it is not pop but ballads. And of course, he should go rock. So many have been waiting because that's how people fell in love with him on AI.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps a couple of covers; I'd like Adam's take on, I Dream A Dream or even a Chines well-known song with English lyric, since he's spending much time in the east; in fact 80% of his Trespassing full concerts were staged in the east. He's respected as sifu in these regions. I get quite uptight when Adam's vocals/vibrato get camouflaged with electronics. Just won't do it for me! I would ask why, pull wool over what is so delicate, real, with something synthetic, loud.

anon 8:39 I agree with Shaley...well said! I have always thought Adam would sell better if he sang an anthem like "We Are the Champions" that could make him a bundle. All it would take is one really great Anthem that would be a current hit for a wedding or winning something great for instance (this could be picked up by sports networks for super bowls etc).

One song I really love is 'Map', I just wish this was released as a single, it's such a beautiful song and Adam sings it superbly. A good album needs to have variety though, a good mix of pop, rock and ballads. Already I am looking forward to seeing what Adam comes up with for his 3rd Album. I have to say that I prefer TP over FYE, his first album has some great songs but TP is far more cohesive, I think Adam's come along way and I'm sure his next album will be great, I'd say to Adam to just go for it and not worry about big hits at this stage, if they happen then well and good but it's important that he stay's true to himself as an artist rather than aiming to please the masses just for the sake of making extra dollars, the most important thing is to make great music and that's something Adam does very well.

Anonymous said...

No one album has ever or can ever appeal to the whole country. Adam's fans can't even agree so how can the whole US? And then Lam-my thinks it should be a Chinese song which most likely wouldn't resonate with the US.

The Trespassing album wasn't "too personal" or too gay" for mainstream music. If you hadn't heard Adam explain how the songs related to his life you would have no idea how they could relate to his orientation. It really doesn't matter if "Shady" refers to a straight bar or gay bar. Trespassing the single can relate to anybody who feels like an outsider. Try to remember most people never heard Adam explain the songs from his viewpoint.

As far as the songs "not catching on", a huge part of the issue is the current way the radio industry works. Tons of suggestions tossed out here but if any of us knew the answer to sucess in the music business we would be earning money doing it not posting comments on a fan blog.

@8.39pm

Adam may have to had to change a couple of words for performing on Chinese tv, but the Chinese have no problem playing his songs from the album as is. He doesn't change them for his Chinese concerts, he has to cut them out for performing on US tv as well, but not for concerts.

Adams cd probably has the least amount of swear words of many 'mainstream' current artists. The odd swearword is NOT a problem.

As to Adam needing to sing about more relateable things, 'like love, loss, fun, longing, joy, dancing and dreaming'....what on earth do you think the songs on Trespassing are about????????????

All the songs on the album cover those aspects of life and relationships, and relate to all people. Even outlaws of love, supposedly a 'gay anthem', would fit in with many other difficult relationships like inter racial, and interfaith...

And of course the album is written from his experience and perspective....as do most other writers such as Adele, Tyalor Swift etc, that doesn't make them any less relateable to others, we all experience and suffer the same things through life, the same highs and lows.

Anonymous said...

I don't get 8:39's comment. The album is about love, loss, joy, dancing, etc. And who are they to tell an artist to compromise.

If so many of you know what a hit song should be like or how to get it played go write those hits or run your own record label.

Perhaps I was referring to a song with a Chinese flavour as opposed to a Chinese song. I've heard pop music using the erhu / a Chinese soulful sounding instrument, fused with pop rock...sounds current and edgy...and I'd go as far to say, may blend in with Adam's intense vocals, because the erhu has a very deep intense tone. Yanni is a good example; he fused Chinese and western music; his great artistry. He's very loved in China; one of the few artists who performed at the Forbidden City; only the elite gets this opportunity.

I really just want Adam to get the respect he deserves..and to be heard. His music is certainly "relatable" to everyone..but in reality it is not given the chance in many markets...We certainly found this to be true with Trespassing in America. And I would hope to NEVER hear the words "We don't play it because this song (these songs) is/are not in our demographic" ....as spoken by a DJ after Adam did promo at the station last year. Huh??? Was it labeled that way because of who he is..or his perceived audience? Whatever was meant by that, may it not happen this time around. Please.

glitzylady said...

Since I was riding in a car on a long road trip, texting on my iPhone (I wasn't driving by the way...) I wasn't able to finish my thoughts at 6:38 PM. All settled at my destination, computer fired up, so a little more musing on this subject.

As I said then, I thought FYE was and is a GREAT album put together on the fly, and consequently gave us his GNT tour, which was a fabulous year (2010: going on THREE years ago!!!YIKES!!!!) of concerts: literally Adam Lambert concert HEAVEN for us fans. We had vids galore (sweet memories of Suz526..), mulitiple concerts to buy tickets for...and we made so many new friends as a result of Adam touring the world and giving us so many amazing concert opportunities.

Trespassing, the album, was Adam's so VERY personal and at times, incredibly brave, and intimate statement. Trespassing was Adam's chance to tell us and the world "this is my life, I have no secrets and am proud of who I am..". But for whatever reason, his music didn't resonate with American (mainstream) radio, media so much...so no major tour. :((( It must have been very difficult for Adam. Thank goodness for Asia is all I can say. They've been so incredibly supportive. He must love that so much!

I really do suspect that Album #3 will be the one that will take him to the next level. Hoping, hoping, hoping..

I absolutely love him exactly the way he is..and who he is...but I would also like others to be able to hear him as well...and have the chance to appreciate his vast talent via his Voice and perhaps along the way to appreciate the special human being that he is. More exposure please for Adam in his home country..and North America...this time around. Fingers crossed..... As even Adam has so candidly (and a bit sadly) said in an interview or two: he doesn't really "want to be a joke or a punchline". He's a wonderful roll model and generously lends his name to some worthy causes. I would love to see some of that generosity come back to Adam this next time around. Fingers crossed......And hoping to hear some hints of his next musical direction soon....ish????? :))

I really think Trespassing not being the huge hit we thought it should be has more to do with the radio and music industries than anything else. Its mostly about money and very little about his orientation. We've been through those details dozens of times, no need to do it again. There was plenty to "resonate with America" and plenty of love, sadness, joy, and dancing for anyone to relate to. I think we need to stop back seat driving Adam's career and let him be who he wants to be and let him hire the professionals to help him achieve his goals, not the goals we have for him. We are lucky to enjoy Adam's amazingness but we do not own him and can't be upset if it doesn't go the way we want. I just feel lucky to appreciate what Adam does and I wont tell him what to do.

@Shaley, you have more people in agreement with you than you think on this fansite. I love your realistic posts! So please post more often!

@daydreamin, Exactly! Exactly! It would be nice if Adam and his management could see the potentials Adam's songs have.

All artists need rose colored glasses fans and realistic fans, not blowing smoke up your ass, (example: Paula and Simon) to be successful. Both groups form a powerful fan base together. One without the other would form a very weak base and it will crumble.

The profanity in Trespassing did hindered its sales, just as the album cover for FYE hindered it too. I pray that for the 3rd album that Adam goes into his glamcave
and do his thing without wondering about what kind of music we, his fans, like. Just do his thing with Nile, Brian, and Roger.

I think Adam's tweet is encouraging us to give our views, brainstorm ideas. His tweet says he wants us to think and be interested and asks what kind of music resonates with us. Think, can also encompass strategies, approaches. And most of us are merely responding to his tweet; should not be viewed as telling him what to do or finding an answer for him. So there's absolutely nothing wrong with what we are doing here; he might not use any of his fans' ideas, that's fine too because our aim is not to tell him how to go about it or what to do or find an answer as to what direction his 3rd album should take. This process of brainstorming is widely used as a means to thrash out ideas, pick the relevant ones and discard whatever not suitable when embarking on a project. It's okay if you do not wish to respond but should not stop others from doing so and imply they are trying to tell him what to do or find an answer! Totally not the same thing. The final decision lies with him. He's testing the waters / feeling the ground. And we, his fans, just responding to his request.

Maybe Adam could try doing some country and western type music. It might be one way of pulling in lots of new fans throughout the US, maybe Adam could sing a different genre for each song on his album, something for everyone or for every country, even throw in some Christmas songs for the holiday season, why not? With all the ideas floating around here this idea just might work.

And FYE cover hindering sales - that happened, but only with countries and people who are afraid that when others see them buying a CD with AN ARTISTIC & ANDROGYNOUS PIC OF ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MALE FACES IN THIS WORLD, then omg what people think of me... That's called narrowmindedness, homophobic and not accepting diversity, not seeing and appreciating what is there to see and hear: THE IMMENSE TALENT that is also called AFL!!!

PS. Sometimes cusswords are totally called for!

How about some congo drums with an African beat.

If any of the songs on TP had been recorded and released by another pop star, they would have been big hits. The songs are top quality and as good or better than any top hit our there. Other top singers sing all kinds of styles and genres that are successful. Some dress outrageously, lace their top songs with profanity, act totally goofy (not always in a good way) on and off the stage, are rude to their fans, can't put two sentences together in an interview, etc. etc. And guess what? They're still at the top of the charts!!!! The mystery remains. Adam's songs are written and produced by top people (including Adam himself), are incredibly performed by a beautiful, smart, articulate man who has amazing stage presence and a winning personality. If this isn't the music industry mystery of the decade, I don't know what is.

I wasn't aiming at anybody because several said something to the same effect so I actually don't know which one is yours. lol! Okay, no problem. Adam has said he wants to build a strong Chinese fan-base so I thought that would be a good start; music reaches people's hearts especially if it resonates with them intimately.

Country and western songs for Adam...no way! Let's get real here to 6:09AM. A holiday/winter album might be interesting. I think Sarah MacLachlan did one called Wintersong. I also like the idea of rock songs and ballads for the next album. I remember when albums just had a compilation of songs from a singer...no theme, focus, personal agenda, etc. on them(I am dating myself here). You just listened to the music and also wanted to dance to it. Now albums are so intense, stylized, focused from performers who really aren't that great. It becomes more about the visual, the video which often doesn't even relate to the song. The songs appeal to a younger demographic overall. Thus the success of the boy bands. I don't know where Adam fits into today's music business. He has this amazing vocal talent, the looks and personality to be a much greater success than he is right now. I just hope the next album will bring him the recognition that he so deserves because if it doesn't, who knows what will happen to him in the scope of the craziness and unpredictablity in today's everchanging music world.

@6:14 AM,, It might be stupid in your eyes. Cee Lo Green had to change the title to his song "Fuck You" to "Forget You" to be played on the radio.

Anonymous said...

I have total confidence in Adam, I'm sure his third album will be successful and I'm sure although he wants ideas from fans, that he knows what he needs to do and what will work best. He also seems to have a good management team behind him so no doubt they will be having lots of discussions around what direction he should take.

Anonymous said...

Adam sing country???? Fortunately, Adam doesn't like country.

Anonymous said...

@6:46
Adam has no such titles and please, let's talk about Adam and his music plans.
Don't wanna ceelo... or thinklo, lol

Adam needs to do what he wants to do. After all, he's not going to feel comfortable singing a certain genre just to please his fans, if he doesn't like that genre. He needs to reach out to more than his diehard fans. We are his fans for life. He needs to attract new fans to have longevity in the music industry.

Cee Lo Green may be more readily acceptable when producing a risky song title as mentioned above due to the fact that he has been around a lot longer than Adam and he has also won a number of Grammy awards and this may give him opportunities to write certain songs that some may find offensive and get away with it, Even so the song's title had to be edited for radio. Maybe that's why it's difficult for Adam due to still being a relatively new comer to the music industry.

I read an article written by a DJ who referred to certain artists as 'Homeless', one of these was Adam, not homeless as in not having anywhere to live but homeless in the sense that the music industry still haven't worked out where he fits into today's music scene. The DJ is a fan of Adam's and seems to think that Adam is truly unique and while this is a great way to be it makes it hard to slot him in with other artists who in my opinion are pretty average at their best.

Anonymous said...

So Adam has to be pidgeon-holed in the music industry. Fit into a slot along with others. If that's what is being said, it's a loada bollocks. Adam is unique so he doesn't fit into any pidgeon-hole and I'm very glad he doesn't.

Anonymous said...

That's the point, Adam is pidgeon-holed, because he is so unique, meaning is far more superior to most of the average talent out there today. China and parts of Europe get this and they applaud him for it, but the US still has yet to recognise it.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, what I meant to say was Adam is not pidgeon-holed because of being so unique. From 7:24 AM.

Anonymous said...

Oh for the good ol' days when singers were just that .... singers without all this BS that surrounds them now.

Anonymous said...

Adam, what you're doing you're doing beautyfully so please don't change to suit others.

Anonymous said...

The music industry these days is huge and sadly dollars and cents come first.

Many artists like Adam have struggled to gain recognition, mainly because they are unique and bring something different and special with them. However these artists do get noticed over time when other artists have long been forgotten. Adam should never bow down or try to change, already there are so many who find him a real inspiration.

I think after many of today's performers have had their recognition in the music business, they will be gone and forgotten because they lack the talent, intelligence and personality to sustain them. Being young and immature and doing stupid things also will hurt them at times. Times change, music changes, the fans grow older and move on to someone else. But Adam will still be around because of his amazing vocal talent, charm, intelligence and personality. He may have an older fan base, but they are loyal and will stay with him as he continues on his career path. His creative and artistic interests will take him in many different directions including Broadway eventually(I hope). It has been interesting and exciting following Adam on his musical journey since AI and I can't wait to see where he takes us next.

It has less to do with Adam and more to do with the industry. So many here have their fan blinders on so narrow they can't see any other artists. If you aren't into any other bands or singers you don't know the themes they had on their album or how long it took them to "make it" in the industry. Or how certain singers will get songs played at release regardless because that is how the industry works and even then it is no guarantee. Every great once in a while lightning strikes and something hits big, like what is happening to Macklemore right now. The rest of the time singers and bands and their management keep trying. I do think Adam's time will come.

BTW, this was a weibo thing so probably sent out by his management to the followers in China and not by Adam and not really a request for our opinion.

6:09, well done ;)

I agree with your comment "It has less to do with Adam and more to do with the industry." He has the talent and I believe he will prevail...

@Anon 10:17 AM
Absolutely agree with you as well....Adam will be around for a very long time

@6:09 AM Are you serious-country music? Did you not hear Adam say he will never sing at The Grand Ol Opry? I guess you didn't see Idol when he changed up Ring of Fire because counry music was "not his thang!! As for Christmas music...why not you asked? Because Adam is Jewish and will not record an album with Christmas songs...so both of those ideas reflect that you recently got on the Adam bandwagon and haven't been listening to what he has been saying..how about throwing out some realistic ideas. As most people have replied, and I agree, a mix of pop/rock/ballads and, as many other singers have done, and as Adam has done in his concerts, one of two covers..songs that really showcase his vocals, emotions and vunerability. Wish you could cover "Stay"..I absolutely loved his cover and have not heard Rhinana's original on the radio..think that Adam's rendition was so much better, and I keep playing the video of that song over and over!!

I'm pretty sure 6:09 was using this thing called sarcasm and I laughed out loud.

Anonymous said...

I did too. BTW Adam also said he had no intention of going to Nashville, but he did on GNT and they loved him!

I have a row of pigeons that seem to live on my telephone and electric wires, but have never seen a ___ p i d g e o n .

Ok, to continue this bs...
There's no way in hell Adam makes it big in US unless he does country & western music... Sad but true. Lol?

Anonymous said...

It's still relevant even if it's sent out by Adam's management who is employed by Adam; they represent him, he can't do everything by himself. And even if it's Weibo sending it out to fans of China, it is posted here and we can still respond and give our opinions. As I've said, this is what brainstorming for ideas is all about! Cast one's net as wide as possible...they can pick whatever is relevant! Moreover, Adam is conceptualised as global; as above Anon said, 'homeless' which to me is an apt category for Adam as in, roving/wide not tunnel! both in his lifestyle and his multi-genre singing / music.

That's a whole lot of hoopla about country music! Many, many artists in the US and worldwide have been, and continue to be successful without singing country music.

Anonymous said...

I insist on country and western music!

Anonymous said...

You have to admit that country music performers do have a tremendous following and bring in big numbers at concerts. BUT that being said, Adam will never record a country song for an album. It is just not him...thank goodness. I also want to see rock and ballads on this new album. I want to hear singles from it on the radio this time. And, of course, we are waiting for a tour.

Anonymous said...

One of the explanations why Adam isn't huge in US = the massive numbers of country music lovers, that's mainstream and most of them will never appreciate Adam or listen to him...
